Personally, I mean, if I did something, I mean, I wouldn't be complaining, but nothing was planned really. So, I walked in the bathroom and the girl punched me. Doesn't want to let us inside of the house to investigate the domestic. We've been talking to her in the doorway to give her some respect. I don't think anybody's in danger inside. We have simple battery charges, maybe at best. >> Hello. Hey, how are you, ma'am? Okay. You want to come talk to me? >> Why are you in my house? >> Why am I in your house? I'm trying to talk to you. >> Okay, but why are you in my house? You can You can talk to me. I don't need a whole crowd. >> Okay. >> I'm not going to do that. We have a warrant. She's got like She's got like 87 warrants. Um, she she has some out of Athens, but she has warrants out of everywhere right now. Hey, Tania. >> Come in. Yes. >> Okay. So, can you step out here for me? Just come over here out of the kitchen. >> Okay, what's going on? Come in, uh, children. What's going on? >> Just come over here, please. >> I don't feel safe moving until my people get here, please. >> You have warrants. You're not Tania. >> I am. >> Put the phone down. You are Tania, but you have warrants and you gave me a bad birthday. >> So. >> Put the phone down. Put your hands behind your back. Let's not make this an issue in front of your child. >> Wait. Keep walking. >> Why are y'all dragging me? >> We're either going to drag you or you walk. Would you like to walk like an adult or be dragged? >> my phone, please? >> Now we want favors. Let's roll. >> I'm asking for my phone. What do you mean? I'm inside of my home. >> Walk. >> Let me get my baby kids, please. >> No. You're going to go through all that now and ask for favors from me. >> my home. >> You lost that when you decided to resist. >> Let me get my baby kids, please. >> Hey, let me talk to you just real quick. >> Oh, no. I don't I can't talk right now. >> You can't talk right now. I need to come Okay. I need to come >> I'm just I'm just trying to get the baby. >> Well, that's what I'm trying to confirm with you and with her when things calm down a little bit. I don't want to have to like go and be fast or nothing crazy like that. The chief Are you the person >> No, I don't know. I'm going to just get that [ __ ] out. Just Okay. Okay. >> Do you have your ID with you? >> No. >> Can I get your name and date of birth, please, so I can get it? Can you spell Jerica for me, please? >> J E R R I C A What happened? What's going on? Where where is our daughter? >> Probably over there by the couch or sitting right here. And she called you for taking care of the kids. >> No, that's what I'm saying. I don't even know how this is going to work. I just I I've been I've been locked up 9 months. I've only been home 60 days. I've been in the psych county. I don't know what she I don't know. >> But you're Athens local, right? >> Yeah, Athens. >> But she But she has people here that do know them by any chance? >> No, she don't. Her mama saying baby sitting so her mama is Her mama is not going. You call us that bad. Y'all going to call us that bad. I don't know. I don't know. I literally don't know. >> Are you willing if she wants you to take the kids to her? >> I'm I'm going to have I'm going to just have to do what I got to do because I mean >> Listen, listen, you don't have to I don't I mean I don't I don't got no choice because Um I mean what is I going to go? I don't even got a home. I'm just staying at my mom's. Like I said, I've been locked up a long time. >> Who was that little stinky face for looking at me like I smell? >> Sorry, what you what you thought? What you thought? What did you think was going to happen? You know your mom was going to be gone for a long time. Years. Ain't no 1 year, ain't no 2 years. So you might as well you should I don't know what you were thinking. You going to regret that for the rest of your life. >> I think her mother's actions resulted in her mother's consequences. >> I don't know. >> I I think that's exactly what happened. I don't think we can blame this child for another person getting arrested on warrants that they already had. >> her She >> What are her What are her warrants for? >> They don't want to mess with her. I don't know. >> What are What does she have warrants for? >> I have no idea. Like I told you, I just got out 7 days ago. I don't know nothing. >> it's something that she's going to go to jail for for years, like you're saying >> She said She told me when I was locked up the first time she told me her probation her probation officer told her all the time they they hurt her They hurt her. That's the only time she told me. >> All right. I just have a lot of issues with what she said. I want you to understand that nothing that has happened with your mother involving us is in any way your fault. Do not think that. Your mother made decisions and I think you and I can both agree that they had legal consequences, therefore they were poor decisions. Now she has the consequences for those decisions. >> That's true. >> And this is in no way your fault. She knew they were bad decisions. She knew she was in trouble and then she lied about who she was so she wouldn't get out. >> Hey. People live there, sweetheart. Come over here, please. Yeah, absolutely. Y'all can all go inside. I just don't want you to feel that way, girl. >> Hey, is it okay if your kids go with Jerica so they don't have to go to D-Fax? >> Oh, no. Arya is to go to D-Fax. >> Why? >> She's to go to Nobody wants her. >> She's willing to take them. >> No. She She's to take all of our children. Arya is to go to be safe. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Can you call her on your phone? >> Which one? Is this your folks? >> Yeah. This [laughter] is crazy. I'm going to jail. I'm in the back of the police car. Aria called the police on me. >> I don't know what that means. >> I'm like You called your mom? Yeah. >> Is this Is this your parents? >> No. Hang up. >> Okay. >> Jail. Jail. Yeah. >> Hey, you're a liar. >> Yeah. Can you uh and Aria is to go to D-Fax. No one is to get her. >> Hello. >> Hello. Are y'all Do y'all want Aria? No, nobody wants Aria. She She is to go to D-Fax. >> No, we do not want No, we do not want her. You can have her. >> You said what? Hey, this is the This is the the officer here. So, what's going to happen if we call if we call D-Fax? Um they're probably just going to turn her over to you regardless anyway. >> You are not going to take her in. That's That's grandparent. Yes, that's what I'm exactly what I'm saying. And Aria and her dad have these conversations. She has lied. Uh She's out of control, man. >> Hey, so um the grandparents said they're not coming. They want me to get the kids, so You said you'll get Aria. She'll What China said she'll get Aria, but I don't know what I'm going to uh get uh Chova. What about Aria? >> Jerica. >> Huh? Aria is to go to D-Fax. Where she want to go? >> She what? >> She is to go to D-Fax. Where she want to go? >> I don't know, Tim. >> Nobody get her. >> Yeah, James said James said he might said he not coming. >> Yeah, he said he's not getting her. He just told them the same thing. Since she wants to go this way, she knew She should have thought about all of this. She knew what what I what type of predicament I'm in. Let her Let her get get a reality check. >> That's what I was texting the other day cuz she was my grandma that I lived with all my life cuz me and my mom and my dad we really don't be around each other much. So, that's why my sister told me to leave my mom for it. >> [snorts] >> And that's really the one I moved in >> The important thing is is that you're okay, all right? Your mom made a choice. This isn't your fault at all. Okay? You're not in trouble. Okay? I I will talk to them. It's I promise. I can't promise you anything, but I I can tell you from experience that things get better. >> So, I just spoke to the grandparents and the mom is refusing to get her rehab to call D facts. We got nobody to come get her. >> Hey, you're only taking the baby. You're not taking her. >> I'm calling 911. >> Hey, it's 494. I need to be connected to on call D facts. >> All right. Well, I'll keep you updated. >> I mean I would just advise mom like we can't take the child in the care of her cuz she doesn't want her. >> Hey Hey, hold on a second. This is uh Sergeant Harvey. I'm Officer Serene's supervisor. So, I I came in on the late latter part of the conversation. Um so, the mom has dozens of warrants that she is going to need to go to city for and the immediate family that we spoke to refuses to take the child, the 12-year-old. Um and I have the name and phone number if that's something you all need to to confirm yourself. Um so, >> What's the What is What's the reason that they're saying that they're not taking the 12-year-old? >> Um that she is unruly and disorderly and causes problems in the family is all I've been advised so far. >> Um I would like to get the grandparents involved if we're able to um and I know we can't really talk to mom. I mean I I if I could put it out there, has she already been like has she already been taken to jail or is she there? >> Yes. Yeah, she she's on her way to jail right now. >> Okay, I think that we don't really have a lot of time but maybe if I could get the grandparents to contact her now and just see if we can maybe explore any other options to avoid >> What? >> Okay, that sounds good. Um whenever you're ready, I got the name and phone number before you. >> Can we chat over over there where we don't get all up in the way? >> I was a lot going on there. So you're the one that called, right? Okay, so in case everybody changes their mind, where do you say over on this side of town? >> Um I still live at home over here with but I would I would go and let grandma know if she's not doing it with Arya. And I don't mind stepping in. >> If the mother would have said that she go with you, then yeah, that would be fine but since we're in this situation now, if um that's why I'm glad you were still here is uh DFACS can make that call. We're not allowed to make a call like that. So I don't know her demeanor but every ever since I got here, she's been calm and you know, pretty you know, articulate about like explaining the kind of things that are going on. She even told me about um her getting into a fight at school. >> She's a really good kid, just unfortunate circumstances. >> That's right. >> Um could you want to grab Miss Eaton if you want to talk to him? >> Um yeah, that would be great if you don't mind. Um so where we're at now, the way we've called DFACS but now we're hearing that maybe her grandma is coming. I spoke to grandpa on the phone and he said absolutely not, she's too much of a problem, we're not taking her, blah blah blah. So we're just trying to figure out what we're going to do with Arya. If grandma is coming down here, that's good, that's what DFACS will want. I got some visitors for you, okay? >> You remember me? Hey. [singing] Hey, how are you? >> All right. Let me ask you this. When was the last time you you had something to eat? >> I usually don't eat breakfast. Sometimes I think the day before yesterday. I don't really know. >> That was the last time that you had food? >> I eat at I eat school at some times, but I don't really be eating at home. >> Okay. >> We we do We do have food to eat at >> I I say you hungry? Are you hungry now? >> I think she had made some sausage with chicken and chicken and >> Okay. I'm going to step out for a second, but stay in here with them. Hey. This girl hasn't ate in like 2 days. Can you do me a favor? I'll stay here with her. Just get her a cheeseburger meal or something. Hi. >> Hi. >> She hasn't ate in 2 days, so I'm giving her food. We'll have a conversation. Here, come get some food. Sit down and chill for a little bit, okay? I got to talk to your grandma for a minute. How are you? Officer Serene. >> Lisa. >> Nice to meet you, Lisa. So, I'm going to try to explain are you Atatiana's mom? >> No, but I do have guardianship over her. >> You have what? >> Guardianship. >> Guardianship? >> Uh-huh. >> Okay. All right. Wonderful. >> That's all on her as well as on him. >> So, um Atiana is going to jail um cuz she has warrants out of 12 different jurisdictions. >> Yeah, I know. >> Uh um and she also resisted arrest tonight along with some other stuff. So, she's not going to be out for a while. Now, Atiana was trying to be vindictive to put her in the foster care. And D-Fax don't operate like that. >> Yeah, see. See, she's something else. >> She's >> She's something else. But see, at the same time, Arya She can't help it. She get it from her mom. >> I know. >> I see when I had her >> And we're having that conversation when we go back in that door that we're going to make some smarter choices and her school counselor's in there. Her coach is in there. >> I didn't have a coach. Okay. This is what I do. Since she come with me, most likely I need a mouth. >> That's fine. >> I probably put her back in there, but I'm going to put I'm going to put patience. She's not coming to my house cuz she always school fighting. She be doing this. >> Yeah. Well, and we're going to have that conversation >> I'm tired of it. >> We're going to have that conversation when we go in. I'll have that conversation with her. It might mean a little bit more coming from me cuz >> Yeah. >> you know, police and all. So, um we're going to we're going to square that away. What I do want to tell you is Arya has not been treated very well. Grandma here has expressed to me that you have been you have acted out for her before and have not been very kind and cordial, right? Is that something that we can all agree on here? >> Mhm. >> Okay. [clears throat] All right. What I need from you, okay? Is need you to respect your grandma. I need you to listen to what she says. Okay? You may not like it. But it's the hand that you got to deal with for right now, okay? Your relationship, I think we can agree with your mother is not a very healthy one. And I don't want to have to see you return to that situation. Right? Because the next steps after that are not steps that I want to even explain to you. >> The woman was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants and charged with resisting arrest.
