The neighbor that stay downstairs here is signing her child in at the same time. I'm walking into the office. Now, we do have history. We don't speak at all to keep the peace around here. We got that understood. >> We walking into the school and she says, "Good morning." I said, "Nothing." Because to keep the peace, we don't speak around here. Cool. Hers her words was um oh, keep that energy. I said, you know, we don't speak. So, I'm going into the school. I'm signing in. Marvin, the child had done told me, Olivia, don't feed into it. The child said that. >> So I um she goes in and as we're walking into the office, cuz when you walk into Mayers, you walk through two doors and then the the uh metal detector and then you walk into the office to sign them in. So as I'm walking into the actual office, she pushes me. The lady at the desk, see the lady push me. She say, "Now, why the heck you just push that lady?" And Crystal, that's the neighbor name. She start to tell her >> why mama cuz we beefing. So her and her neighbor to you get what I'm saying? >> Yeah. She told she told the neighbor to hit she she told the neighbor to hit me. The neighbor was on the phone with her and I guess because she can't get to me. She told the neighbor you want. >> The neighbor ended up uh she pushed me or whatever. And the lady was like why you push me? She started telling her about all the drama that's going on here. I'm like girl this is school. Let's sign our kids in >> and get back home. So I asked the lady I said do you have another pen so I can just go ahead and sign mine in and go ahead and go. She can stay here and tell her story, but I need to sign my go ahead to go and she can stay here and tell her story. She goes, "Yeah, she give me another pen." As she gives me another pen, the lady turns around and hits me. And the lady behind the de behind the off uh behind the desk was like, "Now, why you did that?" So, she hit me and I swung back. When I swung back, she grabbed me by my hair and had me like this. >> I want to say it was the assistant principal, whoever the man is. The assistant principal end up walking in on her having me like this. As she got me like this, I said, "I hope you know I'm about to press charges on your ass." They gave me a statement paper, had me to write statements, the SRO. I came back over here. When I came back over here, the neighbor, her mama upstairs talking trash cuz you the one that done called her to put her hands on me. You can see my face full up. >> Okay. Um just just a quick question, please. Yeah, that would dispatch you. Do you don't have anything to do? Only thing I got to do with this is when I off I was running her turn cuz she not she took her baby school. So I said why about your turn while she go take care of school. So I'm sitting out here. >> Did you have anything to happen and threaten me? No, she just started threatening me about my son and saying somebody got somebody to fight her at school. I don't even know what the is going on. My daughter was blocking the thing. Blocking this thing here like oh ain't nobody coming out here. And I may have been on my camera cuz I got cameras. She yelling and screaming. Okay. Everybody going to get you. Come downstairs cuz you going to get it too. All y'all. This come from my daughter and her having their own domestic. I used to try to help them up and and break it up. Stop it. Whatever the case, you remember last time you was here. So I stopped. So since that incident, I just don't say period for nothing. You know what I'm saying? And so you and my son this my daughter she just >> do me a favor. Just go back upstairs and don't go back with her for now. >> I'm not here to come back. I just want to tell you. >> All right. We we got you as crazy as we going to try to handle this. So just go back upstairs for us. >> That's a But I don't I don't even know what's going on. >> All right. We can get it taken care of. All right. >> When you put your hands on somebody, that's a whole different story. Arguing back and forth. But when you actually put your hands on somebody, that's different. Don't try to hide your throw a rock and hide your hand now. And like I said, it's going to be different now because we stay by each other. You can't just put your hands on somebody and expect somebody just to sweep it under the rug. Like I said, we all females. So arguing, that's normal. >> Female do that every day, argue, bicker. You get what I'm saying? But put actually putting your hands on somebody, you taking it to another level. >> Yeah. You taking it to another level now. So yeah, yeah, he said he going to do his part, but he haven't viewed the video yet of what took place cuz he he done went left and did something doing something like that. >> You can't go talk to the person that's in the front office. >> No, no, it's not that. >> So So the offic Okay, so the B officer is doing a report. >> Okay. >> We our hands are We got to need to figure out what to do about this situation. But we that's their property. So that's like a separate >> a separate case >> entity. Yeah. Like they they are separate, right? So, they're going to have to conduct their investigation >> to and he's got to review the cameras or whatever, but she is always welcome with the evidence that they gather >> to take it to our warrant. >> Okay. >> Right. So, she can press charges, but we just need to figure out >> Yeah. >> when when this crystal person gets back. >> Yeah. That's what I'm trying to tell you. >> How how are we going to be able to live? >> I said we haven't said anything to these people. That's what I'm trying to say. That's why I'm so upset because that's my mama. >> Can you go set my stuff on the ground? Can y'all go set my stuff on the grandparent? Uh saint, you ain't going to point me, baby. Your child ain't got to be over here. >> It seemed like y'all been peaceful before. >> Never. Never. And I think she's taking out the issue between her and her mom and me today. Anyway, um I taking my daughter to school. I never saw her there cuz she don't have a kid that go there, but I noticed the grandson. So, as I'm who I am, never had tension. I saw him coming behind me. So, I held the door. The baby came in first. I said, "Hey, good morning, baby. You said good morning." I said, "Fix your girl." You say, "Yes, ma'am." Then she passed me and she already brushed against my chest but I accident you know what her so I said good morning baby. So she said hey girl right there and I said what's wrong with you? I said you not speaking out and she like girl let me um don't fool up with me with cancer. I said I have nothing to do with what's going on with your girl and your mama. Please keep me out of there anyway. Anyway, don't speak to me. I said okay I won't. I said just speak keep that same energy when we over here cuz she speaks. So I said we just keep that same energy today when we get over here. Cuz she said that's fine baby. She said oh you know you own with guns baby. I love trickle play. I love trickle play. That's when I start laughing. I said, "Oh, you are very childish." I said, "How the heck me saying that goes to gun play." So I said, "You know, I'm done talking to you." I said, "What said to her?" So I open the door going to the office. I noticed Miss Samuels. And I look like, "What you doing here, girl?" To Lily trying to I said, "What you doing, Miss Samuel?" Blah, blah, blah. She like, "Hey girl, you want to hear?" She said, "Your daughter go to Juliet." I said, "Yeah, that's me parking." So as we talking, I'm signing on the book to log my daughter in. So she cut I guess the talking her I don't know, but we're pleasantly talking. So she's like, "Excuse me. Anyway, do you have another book I can I mean another pen so I can sign and get out of here or whatever? So she's like, "No, man. You have to wait for her. That's only logging book and you have to sign a sheet." So she was like, "So anyway." So I'm talking to her. I'm looking. I'm still writing. She literally comes and physically push one arm on top of this one and move this one out the way and start writing over me or whatever. So I didn't push off me. I said, "Do not touch me. Do not touch me." And after the brush and at first didn't think it was a problem cuz she let me know it was a problem. Did you physically come and push? >> Since when? >> Don't talk to them. Just continue. >> Anyway, anyway. Anyway, so she pushed my arm or whatever off her. I pushed her off me. She pushes my arm and all and try to do the thing. Even the lady gives a hey to her. Tell her don't touch me. And I said, "Do not touch me." She gets on phone calls, her girlfriend, wife, whatever. So I Yeah, girl. This call me a whole another name. I'm Rose or she going to call me Rose or something. That's how I knew then. She's tripping. So that's I'm sorry. So she so I guess she didn't know who she talking about. She find I mean Crystal. Crystal. She I don't know whatever her name is. So I said yes it's Crystal like that or whatever. So I said she talking about the gun. Yeah. She going she come over here going do this to her when she pull up this that and the third. So I said ma'am you see this you hear this? And she was like yeah you know. So I told her I said I'm not comfortable coming home. So then the girl was like girl please girl please. Anyway and she do this to try to do the book again. So I push her hard. I ain't going to lie. I push kind of hard. She came and did like this but I thought she was about to hit me. I just fast she just but she like this was going to point. I don't know but she did like this. So my natural with the other hand with the poop and hit me on the side of the face one time and she's like, "Oh, you hit me. You hit me." I said, "You're right. I hit you." I said, "You're not going to make me feel defense." This your second time putting your hands on me now. Now I'm upset. So I'm doing this and I say, "You're right. You make me feel defense. I'm going to defend myself." I said, "Let her please don't play on me." I said, "I told you I had nothing wrong going on, but you're not going to disrespect me physically, emotionally, like my guns and all that. Like do not put your hands on me, bro." So she called her again. Oh, she ain't being dramatic, making it seem like I'm like beating her up or some other job. So now she got other people affected so much more. Not only did you start it verbally, you started it physically. Now I defend myself hit you one good time. Now I'm so And >> yeah, I did. I sure did. >> Nobody talk. >> I did. >> Just just ignore that or whatever. >> And was that all that a cure after you punched her? Then y'all >> Oh. Uh, no. Okay. Yeah. So I punched her and then she tried to hit me back. Boom. She missed. So I did this. I hit her one more time and I just grabbed her and I held her down like this. I said >> by her hair. >> Yeah. her hair and um and she was like swinging up. I just was holding down like this and I said, "Liv, this is not what you want. I'm telling you this ain't what you want." So that's when the staff came in or whatever and I let her go. So I let her hair go and um she offered try to walk out and they and I just started talking like excuse me sir, can I talk to you? This lady from talking, you know, and let her know I'm in a situation and she tried to leave. So the other one went, "Ma'am, ma'am, you know, let me talk to you." She's on the phone with her wife and she like, "What? Let me talk to you. I need to get to this house. I need to get to this house." like I got the gun or whatever, but she just kept saying she need to go to the house. So I was like, "No, we got to talk first." And I like see from the beginning to now ignorant. She loud. >> That was the officer trying to stop her. >> No, at this I don't think he officer. He wear like a vest and a white button-up shirt. Um I think he like the security. No, not the principal. I know he got a tan suit. I said I know the principal. It wasn't the principal. He kind of like maybe security cuz sometimes he do the wanding but he has no gun or >> Hey, so if you're talking to I was talking to you, I say your name. >> If I was talking to you, I say your name. Leave it alone. >> I got to say your name. >> Hey. >> The [ __ ] I wasn't talking to her. I was talking to my [ __ ] mom. I know, >> man. What you going to do? What you want to do? >> Listen. Listen. Listen. Listen. Listen. Listen. Listen. Go ahead. Go back over there. Go back over there. Put your hands on me. You're going to jail. Put your hands on me. You're going to jail. I ain't wor about you. I'm not worrying about you. All that started with you and your girlfriend. Started with you and your girlfriend. We not doing that. WHAT YOU MEAN ON MY PROPERTY? I WAS TALKING >> on my property. Let it go. LOOK AT ME. >> I'M TIRED OF THIS. I'M TIRED OF THIS HOUSE. >> YES. >> They fight each other. They fight each other all the time. >> Let me talk. We're trying to resolve the issue before we go. I do not want to have to arrest y'all. Okay. So, it's not worth getting charges for. >> It's not. salt. >> Can both of y'all step inside the house in the thing? >> Talking all that gun in my hand. >> So she's not under arrest. >> Okay. Hold right here cuz she inviting me to fight. It's Olivia. I'm running my business. >> Yeah. even know like oh [ __ ] over there she tried it's all good though want to get crazy I call and that's why we got before I called him I told her that calm down >> was that you that was walking me to the back and I was speaking to Miss Hill that work at my >> you spoke to well Sher walked you to the back >> the other guy in the in the in the suit >> right I came back then later on and I got your number right you're Right, right, right, right. Um, but the secretary as we were walking into the school to sign the vote, the two kids, the secretary saw the lady push me walking in >> just like I told her to just like I told her and I'm going to tell you the same thing >> and I told you when you was in there. I'm going to look at the video and I'm going to determine what was what. >> Wow. Wow. >> So, I mean, >> nothing has been said here. We've been living here peacefully for about a month or so since the last incident. Nothing has been going on here. So for you to get to this school and say something to me why why this a school ma'am and the whole time I don't remember I don't know his name he's in the office he work in the office tall Africanamean guy >> that's Mr. He walked out while she had me like this. And the whole time I'm telling her like, "I'm pressing charges on you. I'm pressing charges on you." >> Well, let us look at the video and then I'll I'll make a determination on what's going on from that point. >> BOE officials arrived to review the footage and after things calmed, she was released as everyone agreed to separate. >> Why you not at work? >> I WAS COMING OUT TO GO TO MY door and go to work. Yes, it is. I open the door. Ran up on me and we fought right there. THEY ALL JUMPED ON US. THAT GOT CAMERAS. SO SHE COULD show you. >> So who called the police? >> I did. >> You called or they jumped you? >> I came to my car to go to work. They oh yeah this and this and that. So I'm like leave me the alone. I WALK RIGHT THERE. ALL CAME DOWNSTAIRS. This jumped on me. Her and her home girl and my mama and that one jumped on my girl. >> She got the camera footage. She was literally at the door. I'm upstairs as you can go see my son right now. >> He just got out the shower. >> She come outside to come to her car. All of them is outside talking. They all came down the stairs. I hear them yelling, right? I come running down here. They all done jumped her and then jumped on me. Right here. Look at me. >> And I want to press charges. >> All right. So, what point did you draw a gun on now? >> I never My gun is inside. My gun is inside. My gun is inside. >> She told me to go grab my gun. I never grabbed it. It's still inside. >> Had my baby. She came right here. So, I said and for the mama. So, I said, "Don't come over here with all that. Don't come over here." Oh, yeah. You what's up? What's up? What's up? I was like, "Hold on. What's up? What's up?" She swung at me. So me and her started fighting and the girlfriend ran over here. They jumped on me. So that's when they all ran here. Break up. Get off. Go jump her. We fall. They said back up. I get up on me again. So like to fight. And this like right here >> behind the car right here. >> That person that you LEFT CUZ THEY SAID I TOLD HER I COULDN'T leave you. I BACKED OUT. BUT WHEN Y'ALL TRYING TO LEAVE, Y'ALL START with me. And then when she hit me and THEN WHEN THEY SAID her and when I GOT THE UP THEY STARTED TALKING ABOUT GUN PLAY. SO I WENT AND GRABBED MY right if y'all want to check that out. I WAS GOING TO D MY GUN AT SCHOOL YET. >> If this apartment went over there first the only thing I tell you all seen them back and forth and then they just this girl came out there and then they just start fighting. All of them start right there. Did this these people right here >> go over there? Who? >> Well, they didn't go over there. They just pretty much was fighting right there. >> Oh, but but >> which which house household initiated this fight first? You know, >> I'm tell you the bones down there. She swung first. >> Which one? The the the masculine. She hit her right there. >> Okay. She Did you see a gun? I didn't see >> Did you see anybody go to their vehicle? >> So they kind of meet in the middle like they both kind of like >> everybody in the middle right there started swinging pretty much >> but but she hit first. >> Yeah, she was going first >> on Crystal and then the girlfriend. >> Yeah, the girlfriend was out there. >> So the girlfriend wasn't out there first. No, no, she was she ran out >> fight >> and then and then this um go ahead and detain Shakira was already here before concerning the situation and the fight still occurred. >> They going to handle it like however. >> Well, they can handle handcuffs. I'm sorry. >> They need to have to push you not getting no handcuffs because when I was here I was calm. You get what I'm saying? And I was trying to explain to y'all that this was going to happen. I'm not getting detained. >> I'm not getting detained because I'm not coming out this house to say nothing else. I'm not going back in handcuffs when y'all put me in handcuffs the first time. What I told y'all. I'm good. >> Y'ALL DON'T REMIND ME. I AIN'T TRYING TO GO BACK. SOMETHING OCCURRED, BUT IT WAS NOT ON MY END. >> YOU WAS IN IT. ALSO, we not saying it. I'm not getting investig. I'm not getting the handcuffs, bro. My face hurting. My knees hurt. No, I'm done being calm. I'm done being calm. Just bring it down. You don't have to be You don't got to be calm. But listen, in order for them to bring it up, >> in order for them to do what they need to do, in order for you not to get more charges or whatever, you going to have to let us do our job. So, we have to detain you. We're going to have to detain you and we need to compile. >> Well, I have to sit in the car. I don't want to sit in the car, but right now >> I need Let her finish. Just let >> Bro go. I swear to God. >> At any point, does somebody have a weapon? A firearm? Yeah. At any point did somebody pull out a firearm? >> I didn't pull it out. It was already sitting here. I didn't pull it out. I never bought it outside this house. No. Never bought it outside this house. Never bought it outside this house. >> Earlier you said something about they had they said something about gun. >> YEAH. THEY WAS TALKING ABOUT GUN PLAY. AND SHE WAS LIKE, "GO GET YOUR GUN. GO GET YOUR GUN." MY SON is I keep my down here because at first I didn't keep it loaded. But when me and her broke up and I was here by myself, I put I think it's like four bullets in that [ __ ] >> You said that the the one in the white ran out to join the fight, right? >> Yeah. She came outside to help her >> at that point. Was she getting jumped by those other those other people? >> All right. Cuz I was watching them and I was watching >> I know. I get it. I get it. It's fine. I know. Um, as soon as I I turned my head, all I know is she was on the ground and all three of them girls up there was kicking her on the ground. >> That's all, like I said, they all joined right there and it was all kicking her, swinging and all that. All them started right there. The one in the black came out >> to go to her car >> to go to her car cuz she Yeah, was in the trunk. She was grabb she was just looking in trunk, I guess. I don't know what she was doing, >> right? >> You ain't going to see no more. That's not kind of funny. >> Okay, >> but car came over here. That's the part I want you to see. >> You got to hear it. >> Okay, go ahead. >> You going to have to hear >> cuz where you going? >> They fight and I'm here to stop the fight. No, Kira is on this side. >> I see. I see. >> You see her over here? You know who Kira is? The black. This is what I need you to see before this. Before this. I'm trying to get >> ma'am. >> You are interrupting my investigation right now. Please stop. >> Okay. Well, I'm sorry. >> Please. I'm just trying to show you the trial over there coming from the family >> cuz I don't need to see I don't care about what happened before the fight. That's all I need. Just just please let us do this so we can >> make a determination. You are now here you go, So you drift? >> Yeah, we seen what we needed to see. >> They don't see me. >> I'm not. Thank you so much. >> Thank you. >> So for now, you entertain. Drop your cigarette. Drop it. Just drop it. >> For the [ __ ] on my property. >> So the video contradicts otherwise. >> So you don't see me over here off my property, right? >> And I'll explain. Yeah, please explain that we're going by what we see on the video. >> What did you see besides me now? Definitely defense after her swing on me and coming over here and us making our way there. >> Crystal was just arrested, right? So now it's your turn. Put your phone down. >> Okay, let me just call my one person, please. >> You cannot call anybody. >> Get my phone and call Tisha. >> Tisha, it's okay. Let me lock my door. >> Put your hand behind your back. Okay, fine. >> You can give your keys to your daughter. They can grab it. >> Call Tisha, honey. Right here. What am I being? >> Ma'am, we we have a video of you. You struck Olivia first. >> All right. >> That's what the video shows. >> Have your hands like this. >> The video don't lie. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> So, I'm just explaining to you so you know why you get arrested, right? What you say, Mom? >> But it's too tight, baby. I'm >> only got daddy. >> No, it say DN. >> Hey everyone, it's Trent, prior deputy sheriff, patrol sergeant, and K9 handler. These neighbor disputes are some of the most volatile calls that cops can respond to. And from a self-defense versus mutual combat standpoint, what law enforcement will look at as well as what the courts will look at and take into consideration is who is the primary instigator who escalated the situation versus both sides willingly participating and engaging in physical battery against one another. And these long-term personal feuds are not only dangerous, but they can definitely be incredibly challenging from the investigative side of things. Witnesses can be biased. There's conflicting statements oftent times, not to mention trying to figure out what actually happened amidst the constant yelling and screaming and constantly having to separate some of these individuals to prevent them from fighting each other. That's why law enforcement relies heavily on physical evidence for these types of situations such as video, physical injuries, and independent witnesses if there happen to be. Police are not there to pick sides in personal drama. They're there to identify the primary legal aggressor in that situation. Ideally, stop the violence at least for the time being before it turns into something far worse. And these situations do have a tendency to escalate and go on for extended periods of time. >> Both women were charged with battery but remain innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
