That's great. >> Okay. >> I'll get you the Oh, I switched them out already. >> Yeah. Okay. Hold on a second. St. You got your Purel thing or whatever that is. Okay. And your card in here. >> Hey everyone, it's Trent, Prior Deputy Sheriff, Patrol Sergeant, and K9 handler. These road rage incidents in general are extremely dangerous and potentially deadly in certain circumstances and you never know what the person in the other vehicle is capable of or what lengths they're willing to go to. Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured or worse in this situation. However, what we do see is that we still have a suspect who has followed this victim for an extensive period of time, even if he did break check her, and has now blocked him in in this driveway, preventing him from vacating the area. The victim also relayed that fact to these officers in the report that he was in fear for his safety, not knowing what the suspect's intentions were, what she was capable of, or what she was about to do based on her actions thus far. And one of the charges the suspect was arrested for was unlawful restraint, also known as false imprisonment, which is typically defined as intentionally and knowingly restricting or preventing somebody's freedom of movement. And the suspect definitely has to legally identify herself to law enforcement in this situation. Up front, she's potentially a suspect in a criminal investigation. However, for this situation specifically, all law enforcement needs to be able to articulate is that they had reasonable suspicion, which is a pretty low threshold to establish the suspect is committing, has committed, or is going to commit a criminal offense. And when this officer gave her multiple opportunities to provide her identifying information, her refusal to do so, of course, is going to earn her that obstruction charge. And at that point in time, officers are legally within their right to remove her from her vehicle using reasonable force as necessary to affect that arrest. It's notated in the report that they did find a baggie with a white powdery substance. However, it's also stated that they had it on the hood of a vehicle while they were filling out paperwork and it subsequently blew away in the wind and so they were obviously not able to test it or charge her with anything related to that. >> The 25-year-old woman was arrested for obstructing official business and unlawful restraint. She was also cited for driving under suspension while the suspected possession was dropped due to lack of evidence but remains innocent until proven guilty. [Music]
