Pocket. Walking. Walking. Find
you.
What? No. Stupid.
God damn it. An Ohio police chase
spirals into chaos when the teenage
suspects leap from a stolen car and make
a run for it. But as the officers close
in, a police K-9 makes a mistake and the
officer's furious reaction sparks
immediate outrage across social media.
Only now, however, can the full story of
that day be told. Get in the car. Get in
the car. The following report is based
on official police records, and most of
the footage has never been seen before
until now. Please note that all persons
charged with a crime are presumed
innocent unless and until proven guilty
in a court of law. On July 24th, 2024,
police in Dayton, Ohio, receive an alert
that a stolen Cadillac has been flagged
by a license plate reader. The
responding officers quickly realized
that the suspects aren't going down
without a chase.
Holy God, he don't like my car today.
Like the third freaking time almost got
hit. Watch out. Watch out. Watch out.
You're good. You're good. You're good.
Watch out. Watch breaking. Okay, you're
good, dude.
Stupid.
[Music]
What do you think that means? What do
you think that means? In one patrol car,
a K-9 dog named Ronnie grows antsy from
the excitement.
Ronnie, hush. Where's our air? Where's
our
air? She's got my wave. She's not going
to like light it up. It's right there.
Just made a left. Made a left. Left
turn. Wampler. Eastbound or sorry,
westbound Wampler.
[Music]
Where'd he go? Where'd he go? Straight
through. Straight through. Straight
through. High rate of speed on long
clear going towards me. Where's our air
support? Watch out. Watch out.
Why did she not have the lights on? Turn
to make the left hand turn. Robo's
caused the crash and it is now.
Was good work catching up to finding it.
Proud of you, Jimmy. That's what I do.
Got one out. Getting out. Driver's got a
black sweatshirt on top.
Go pass. Go
pass out.
The suspects flee in two different
directions, forcing the officers to
split into two groups. One running left
across the highway.
[Applause]
I'm not resisting. I'm not resisting.
I'm not resisting.
I'm fing.
I stopped. You didn't stop. Yes, I did.
I say I got it. You didn't stop. I put
my hands up. I found an officer. Me,
too.
Spread your legs.
Bro, I spreaded my legs. What is he
doing? Make sure there's no gun. Clowns
love to carry guns this long cars. No,
don't.
What's your lawsuit going to say? You're
in a stolen car. I stopped. You're going
to make me. Oh, we can. Absolutely. I
can. I stopped. You didn't stop. If you
stopped, why is your car about 150 yards
that way? One suspect is in custody, but
it's what happens on the other side of
the road that will ignite a firestorm of
controversy.
Ping. Pocket.
Noy.
No. Get on the
[Applause]
ground. What?
No. After officer Kaggel strikes his dog
for the misplaced bite, other police on
scene notice the commotion.
Wait.
Yeah, I'm fine.
Stupid.
God damn
it. Dumbass. Jesus Christ.
God damn it, Ronnie.
Stupid.
Get in the car.
Get in the car.
God damn it, dude. Damn it, dude. You
good? I don't know what my hamstring
looks like. Bit my behind me.
Pile or what? Huh? Was it a pile and he
just missed? No, I was grabbing a hold
of gun and he bit me instead. Meanwhile,
the other officers try to determine if
the suspect was also bitten. You hurt
anywhere? No. Anybody hit you? No.
Anybody tas you? You bet my dog. Okay.
[Music]
The dog looked like he went for it. I
decided
he he nipped at his he nipped at his
butt at the end. I just don't know if he
got him or not. He went past him.
He's fine. America. His dog beat him.
Oh, yeah. Big Kaggle. Yeah. But he went
to get him on his coll on his arm. And
Yeah. Back at his unit, Officer Kaggel's
frustration lingers. I have some right
here. I'm trying to get the
dogs. I nicked my leg
here. He went after the guy first,
missed, and then so I grabbed a hold of
the guy and he tried to bite me. These
are so amped up.
God damn it,
dude. Annoying.
[Music]
As officer Kel tends to his injuries,
the other officers deal with the
suspects who turn out to be teenage
brothers. That vehicle was reported
stolen. And from what the chopper
related to us, you were driving the
vehicle and you guys came out of the
vehicle and ran onto it. So, you're
going to have couple charges on you.
Okay. And I'm I'll take you to JJC. It's
actually my mom's phone number and I
called her and she said, "Yeah, they
told me they were going to go out and go
go get arrested." So, I was like, "Well,
they did it." Okay. The suspects are
brought to the juvenile justice center
and processed. But back at the scene,
all eyes are on Officer Kaggel. Well,
don't take your pants off. Let's look.
Camera's off. Officer, take your pants
off. A woman who filmed the arrest from
across the parking lot posted her video
of Officer Kaggel striking the dog to
Facebook where it racked up more than
160,000 views and led the Dayton Police
Department to issue a statement to the
media which said in part, "The K-9
missed the suspect and then bit the
handler three separate times, twice on
the legs and once on the hand." The
officer used an openhand strike on his
canine partner. The police department
went on to say that the dog was not
injured and vowed to conduct an
administrative review to assess the
incident circumstances.
