gave an interview to krqe 13
and in that interview as a state senator
um stated my firm position and belief
that this super spreader event
that happened at the capitol today was a
riot
and it was incredibly irresponsible
given that
we are in a surge right now
and um this evening after that ran at 10
o'clock i received
one two three very very angry phone
calls
from people i don't know but i have the
numbers
saved and the voicemails they left
they're all men white white men
the last voicemail that was left
uh officer oh
guys opening my phone

this is uh i have the phone number and
the message is the message is
transcribed to my service and it says

you don't even know what it means to be

piece that's really terrifying in light
of
what has happened to
um other public officials in this
environment
right now um and so my husband and i are
here at our apartment
um pretty terrifying
i called the gov's office to try and get
the state police
in the hopes that there's some sort of
like
some sort of thing that's like you know
i'm a volunteer for this job guys
like you know at the end of the day like
who do i call when
something happens you know
um it's really unclear and it's
it's pretty scary we don't have any
weapons on a gun here you know
any real means of protecting ourselves
um so i'm just really scared
right now officer to be really honest
with you okay
and i just want to ask you sir your

okay um so basically i'm gonna just give

uh some ideas of what we can do okay

to kind of preface this um
i can't really do anything off a vague
statement with the phone call okay so as
far as like criminal charges
with just that there's not much i can do

100 understand that but with that being

first of all if anything happens like
any you see any weird car hanging
outside your apartment
um anytime you get these strange phone
calls if you want to call us
feel free to i promise it's not a waste
of our time or anything like that okay
if you see strange people hanging around
your apartment that you don't recognize
being in the apartment um call us you
know people hang around your work
anything like that
now with that being said the other thing
i can do is i can set up a periodic
watch at your apartment
and basically what that means is um
every so many hours
uh through graveyard so until about
eight a.m
officers will come by and check your
apartment now to extend that
what you have to do is go to the police
substation and request a prolonged
periodic watch okay
officer who do i go to uh the substation
the police substation the civilians
working at the substation
will be able to extend the periodic
watch for you i unfortunately can only
do it for the 24 hours okay

head over there

out make sure everything's okay

got that phone number
um like what's going on he seems like

well so yeah we contacted police last
night
um we uh got this call that said
you know one way or another we're going
to get you out um

re-election so so he's up for
re-election
so we don't know what that means like
we're going to get you out like vote you
out or
i mean i mean we've had all these recent
like elected officials have been
threatened
and who have been you know threatened
with kidnapping and
torture and all this [ __ ] so we're not
playing games we're not gonna we're
gonna be as careful as we can
and this is this is not cory i've asked
the state police to leave they are not
being helpful
