um tonight we did we did several traffic
stops with the cadets also conducted uh
domestic violence calls for the first
time with the cadets and what we want to
do is the training that they've received
up until this point we want them to
actually use the skills that they've
learned in as much as a real life
situation as possible um we have the
training officers as our role players
and also the training officers doing the
evaluations on the cadet uh grading the
cadets on their performance and giv the
cadetes feedback whether it's positive
or negative in nature um just to help
them um build up their confidence on how
to take calls um when they do hit OJT
and get on the streets on their own on
the on the traffic stops what we do is
we have the cadet meet uh the training
officer outside um they actually get a
marked unit um drive around the parking
lot um and they will stop the vehicle
for a traffic violation uh make contact
with the driver on these particular
scenarios that we had tonight uh the
driver was concealing his ID if the
cadet was able to figure out that the
subject was concealing his ID and found
out in his true name they would
determine through NC checks um that the
subject does have a felony warrant for
his arrest and the ultimate goal of this
scenario on the traffic stops was to
arrest the driver uh for the felony
warrant you need your seat B down I'm
good so when uh the cadets do arrest a
subject are being grated on um if
they're using the handcuffing techniques
properly um all the way to the point to
where they are un UNH handcuffing a
subject make sure they're doing that
properly we do have subjects that will
be cooperative during the whole time and
as soon as an officer does take the
handcuffs off they will fight with the
officer um because they are upset about
being arrested so we want to make sure
that they are handcuffing and UNH
handcuffing properly throughout the
entire process of the scenario
