I was just trying to I'm just swipe the hair out of my Please. That was all I was asking. It's in my mouth. I'm watching a stick that I can't handle. Hey everyone, it's Trent Byrd, deputy sheriff, patrol sergeant, and K9 handler. Unfortunately, these domestic violence incidents are incredibly common. And alcohol usually plays a huge role in these cases. It definitely has a tendency to initiate or exacerbate these situations. With this case and a lot of these cases, there's no additional witnesses, there's no video or surveillance footage, and and law enforcement will have to go off of the evidence that they have there at their disposal. And then looking at if the injuries that he has on his person are going to be consistent with the statement that he provides. But again, that makes it a little bit more challenging when one of the involved parties is that intoxicated. And I've said this before, but just because somebody calls 911 first, specifically with these domestic violence cases, doesn't always mean that they are going to be the victim. Sometimes it does. However, in my experience in responding to these calls, a lot of people will use it to try to get ahead of the situation or to try to trick law enforcement into automatically believing their side of the story just because they called first, and they will often cite that fact. However, typically with very little investigative effort, cops will usually be able to tell who is being honest and who is not. The 32-year-old was charged with two counts of domestic battery and one count of resisting a peace officer. But she remains innocent until proven guilty.
