on Friday August 30th 2024 at around 8:10 p.m. a New Mexico state police officer was out on patrol and Deming when he picked up on radar a greay Nissan traveling at 57 mph in a posted 45 mph Zone e [Music] back one two please how's it going I'm officer P Mexico State Police sto you for going 57 and a 45 see your license registration proof for insurance is that a New Mexico ID or what is it California all right uh you have any information on the vehicle well do me a favor you can step out of the vehicle meet me at the front of mine and we'll talk back there brother no wor thank you just stand there by my headlight where head it off too bro I gas and uh pick up my buddy she lives on here up the road oh okay all right I'll just stay right there and we'll get all this paperwork started so you said you have a California yeah right there by my headlight please I know my uh my number what's your driver's license number VCU 6 so out of California the driver was identified as 33y old uro Aras 20244 also 28 out of Califoria 9 Henry Charles King 055 while running Arturo's information dispatch informed the officer that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Riverside California all right brother for the citation you're going to get one for speeding and then the other one for no driver's license in possession okay so your options for those is you can either pay a fine or go to court what do you want to do um how much is the F uh it'll be like 25 bucks I can all right go ahead it's going good returning on a24 Honda Corridor TR experation 2 of 25 join at 3 107 by out of Riverside County California four 10f and this is your vehicle brother no it's actually when we rented it I just got to we got to get it back it's already kind of been late it's been over already okay but so go and do me a favor turn around for me brother and then so I'm going to put you under investigate detention at this time the vehicle's coming back stolen brother so I just yeah I just ran it and it came back stolen so put put in my finger here to make sure all right not too tight so I'm just putting you under investigate detention at this time you're not under R just making sure so we can get the whole story and also so we're both safe no yeah no worries all right so let me just uh I'm going to read you your rights real quick just pull them up that way I get them perfect and there's no things in the vehicle are they all yours um not entirely just uh the stuff that's like in the front seats probably mine you know the like the the little weed sack on the door okay so the weed that's not even a problem I'm not going to worry about that um now is there anything else I'm going to find in the vehicle cuz I am going to search it I don't need a search Warr because it's a stolen vehicle so there's no expectancy of uh privacy so is there anything I'm want to find in there that's crazy uh um no there's a little 22 rifle in the back you know you know what I'm saying and uh that's about it bro there's not many much you nothing much else in the officer checked with dispatch to see if Arturo was a convicted felon which turned up that he was okay so um at this point bro I I will be contacting um a prosecutor to get further or the da the district attorney to get further uh guidance on this but at this time I will be placing you under arrest for possession of a stolen V vehicle okay um and then of course if I find any further information then I'll upgrade either to actually unlawful taking of a vehicle and such and such okay so but right now you're just going to be under arrest for the unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle okay so go ahead and turn around for me I'm going to patch you down do you have any anything on you knives guns nothing like that nothing that's going to poke me or hurt me I don't want to touch a needle you have a bunch of loose change in here cuz I don't want it to be all yeah it's okay I don't want it to fall all over the place I got big get that seat Bel so you don't sit on me great go and sit there forther okay watch your NE he later searched the vehicle which revealed a 22 caliber firearm along with ammunition the vehicle was towed to the state police office where a search warrant was requested and approved by a judge during the search of the vehicle the officer located two small bags of Narcotics a glass pipe and a scale the narcotics tested positive for meth uro was charged with receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle speeding failing to have a driver's license in possession felling in possession of a firearm possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphilia as of October 2024 the case is still ongoing
