on Thursday July 6 2023 at around 11:00 p.m. Albuquerque Police received a 911 call from a wurger manager who stated a man had fallen asleep behind the wheel while in their drive-thru the manager stated that she had taken the vehicle's keys after she was unable to awaken the man and had noticed several bottles of alcohol in the vehicle hello is it this vehicle okay give me one sec let me pull up behind this guy and then I'll come out and talk to you okay I'm officer toon yeah I I'm officer toon at the officity police department so what did you see tday well my team leader was taking the ORD and I kind of heard him like slurring you know and she was trying to get him to like repeat his order we couldn't hear him so I started yelling at him cuz he was not scen and open the back door and soon as open the back door you can just see him like nodding in and out and I went up there and I tried like pushing his head and I tried like yelling at him to wake him up and he wouldn't wake up then I looked over and I seen the bottle that's oh a yeah yeah at the speaker um um I don't know it's a stick Shi so uh but it was on yeah yeah asleep when I got up there okay and he's been asleep probably about 15 minutes now it's no longer so this is a silly question but I just have to ask it in reference to like the possible DWI investigation when you took the keys out did you get in there and turn them and take them out you did is that okay no yeah so we just asked because it establishes a cause for us to get okay behind the wheel yeah I know theam right there you mind getting that of the car I'm not going listen I'm not going to ask you again take your seat belt off and step out of the car now just so you know you're detained for a pending a DWI investigation take off your seat arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated okay and also hang on hang on Alfredo no hear me out you're also going to be under arrest for driving a vehicle without I was driving the vehicle I out with you but it's going with you okay Alves was ultimately given a breath test however I was unable to locate the test results elves was charged with DWI 8 or above driving while license is revoked DWI related and open container court records indicate elves has four prior DWI cases against him with three of them leading to convictions alvra has pled guilty before being put on pre-trial release with an ankle monitor the case is still currently ongoing and sentencing is scheduled for February 7th [Music] 2024
