On January 10th, 2024 was anything but a normal shopping day at the Short Hills Mall in New Jersey when police spotted a vehicle linked to a recent burglary and credit card theft. The following body cam footage details some of the events that occurred. >> No. No. We'll tell you. Just wait. Um, so Witch is on his way home, sees him. He matches the the guy in the picture. Uh, he stops, I guess, tells him to stop. The guy starts resisting him and then we all came up and resisting. Witch is on the stop with Herrera cuz he took off to go there. Okay. >> Cuz we weren't sure if he was out with Herrera or not. So he went on he went to Lark to go. >> So Earl went to stop him. >> They were there were they were arresting. >> No. So nobody was stopping him. So like Herrera sitting on the car that's parked in what's the orange deck. My bad. Yeah. In orange deck. We're sitting on there. He's one of the occupants. Matt's on his way home. Sees him running up this way. So Carrera is in on the vehicle. So he must have caught on that there was somebody there. Matt stops. Goes to stop him. They start fighting on the other side of the fence here and start fighting on the other side of the fence. We all roll off. Then we we take him to custody and now they're stopping the driver of the vehicle. Okay. >> We got caught while >> with one of us. >> Yeah. I got call in the mouth some somehow. I don't know if one of them hit me. >> I'm sorry. We We came up the wrong way. >> Yeah. Are you are you good? >> I'm good. I just I got Yeah. Yeah. Thanks to the sharp eyes of Melbourne police, the suspect vehicle was located, leading to a foot chase and subsequent arrest of the suspect, who was ultimately charged with obstruction and resisting arrest.
