On October 7th, 2024, officers responded to a homeless shelter on reports of someone needing to be removed from the premises. An onseen investigation revealed two people were involved in an argument when one sprayed pepper spray into the other person's eyes. The man was located outside and officers took possession of the pepper spray. Here are the events that occurred. All right. Shelter wants one removed. >> Officer tell how they want to tell right there. >> You need to speak with the police, man. >> You need to have any complaints? >> Yes. >> What happened? >> Him and another client was I work upstairs. I work upstairs. My other coworker works downstairs. So they told me there was a fight. So I come downstairs. >> But it's I come downstairs, see what's going on. They tell me that this gentleman right here sprayed another client in the face with mace. >> All right. Where's the other? >> He's inside washing his eyes out. >> All right. >> You know what I mean? >> Uh 109 Romeo rig here for uh potentially a uh patient that was sprayed in the face with Mason. >> Where is he? Just >> this gentleman across the street is the one who sprayed the guy in the face. So I'm the other guys marshal his eyes. >> Okay. >> Just be advised the uh potential actor he's should be in our cat. I was able I was sitting I was standing and he was like oh he picked up the chair and started to throw it at me and there was witnesses >> before after you did this. >> No that was before I can't use that if he didn't do anything but when he he he attacked me with a chair and I'm like you know what I'm saying? Why you taking to talk to him or you want to get >> No, we know that a complaint. I just want to >> You have ID on you, man? >> Yeah. I I don't file a complaint, officer. I just want him to stay away from me. I'm saying a complaint. >> He's not even arrested. >> I don't press a complaint. >> He's a resident. I'm arrested. I understand. >> But do you have ID? It was right in front of me. He got ripped the mace out right away and started masoning down. >> Then he did pick up a chair, but the mace was first. >> I have to defend myself. Do you have ID on you? >> No, I don't. No. Um, not really. I mean, the the missed, but not directly at me. I'm okay. I'm okay. >> All right. Well, I'm going to get an am the ambulance is coming here. They're just going to evaluate. >> Yeah, I'm fine. All right. Just 34. It's going to be uh two people. U the victim who was initially sprayed and the uh >> obviously the mason from the spray u caught an employee as well. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> One more time. Tell me begin. >> Okay. So I walked into the game room. They started the argument. Soon as he ripped out the mace he started macing him in the face. He picked up a chair and he just continued macing him down. He did throw the chair but the mace got to him too quick and then he had to turn around. >> So So from what I am understanding is that there was a verbal argument >> that resulted in And then you responded with chip. >> Yeah, exactly. And I was trying to get in between them cuz I do try to save them before it escalates, but I think it's too late. >> All right, we're going to have 1 mil 1025. Um, as a result, >> start spraying. >> Yeah. As a result of the guy getting sprayed, he picked up a chair, but he threw the chair. It didn't strike. >> The employee getting sprayed >> because uh the employee was on scene while it happened. He started I guess he started spraying him and cuz the employees like sniffling and he's got tissue on his nose. >> So there was no there was no threats or anything. It was just they started arguing people and just sprayed them. >> Yep. >> That's what the witness said. >> All right. So >> that's the actor there. The big guy. >> Yeah. I'll be uh returning up there for the time being. >> The man was placed under arrest and was transported to police headquarters where it was discovered he had an active warrant. He was further charged with aggravated assault, possession of weapons for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of weapons, and hindering.
