The nerve of this suspect with her stick figure like legs had the audacity to try to flee from the cop and was captured in like one nanocond. The female suspect's attempt to flee was so slow and she was so easy to catch. I actually don't want her to be charged with resisting arrest. It was just that bad. Yikes. >> What happened? >> You're being detained for a theft investigation. >> Oh, okay. >> Stop. Stop. Give me a minute. >> All right. So, we're about to find out. I think we got all three. Heat. So my coach tomorrow is going to be another >> um she wants to sit in with you guys. I'm going to take the seat belt off so you guys can all It's going to be a little uncomfortable to do it. >> Scratch. All right. >> Put the windows down. >> Turn it off. >> Yeah, I'll put the windows down. >> Now, this is a tactic by the police that is commonly used. However, many are not privy of it. First off, a suspect cannot choose which cruiser that the suspect wants to travel inside. That decision is not reserved for a suspect. The primary intention of the suspect being placed inside of the cruiser with another suspect is strategic. So, police vehicles are typically equipped with audio and video recording. So, the cops will intentionally leave the suspects in the cruiser by themselves for a nice amount of time so that the suspects will have a belief that the suspects can talk amongst each other without the cops knowing. Then, when the police get back to the police station, they will run the footage in hopes that the footage contains evidence or confessions to their crimes. as statements made in the back of a police vehicle are generally considered admissible evidence because there is no reasonable expectation of privacy in that setting. >> All right, >> I'm going put the windows down. >> Yeah, I'll put the windows down. >> The one that uh from earlier had uh two prior convictions. That's FYI. >> The guy that they caught earlier, >> he had two. >> That's why I was feeling it. >> Thank you. >> Yeah, that's why I was filling it. He had two problem. >> All right. So, I'm going ask you a few questions. All I need is a verbal yes or no. >> All right. So, you have right to remain silent. Do you understand? >> Yeah. >> Anything you say may be used against you in court. You understand? >> Yeah. >> Reading your rights. Do you want to talk to me about today? >> Hold on. Stop this video. So, why why are you here right now? And why was there a magnet in your pocket? You like my questions? Are you Are you done with my questions? Okay. Let me sit back. >> Well, all three of the suspects were charged with grand theft retail for stealing over $826 in merchandise. And two of the suspects also faced possession of an anti-shoplifting device. In the state of Florida, grand theft is a felony offense for property valued at $750 or more, which is thirdderee grand theft punishable by up to 5 years in prison. And the severity of the penalty can increase based on the value of the stolen goods with higher thresholds leading to more serious felony charges and longer prison sentences.
