Now, if you'd have been like, "Holy [ __ ] I totally saw that package earlier and I opened it." >> I'm not going to lie. I'm an alcoholic. I didn't even look at the name or read it or can't say that I was even able to read it at at that time or this time. >> I didn't bring those two packages that were up there. Those are my two packages. >> Well, this is the label for that package, >> but I >> with a different name in a different. >> So, here's the problem we have. Okay. Is you're in a neighborhood you don't live in, dressed in disguise, with a loaded gun in your pocket, wearing gloves with a face mask on, dressed like a UPS driver. >> What the are you doing? >> The golden age of piracy never really ended. It just moved from the high seas to suburban neighborhoods. With e-commerce deliveries being a trend these days, a new breed of these parasites has emerged. Porch pirates. And nothing's more satisfying than when cops catch them in the act. >> He got hit pretty good, man. He did a full freaking turn the egg. >> Oh boy. >> I'm telling you, that was that was that was a hard hit, brother. >> Boy, I've been hit before. >> You've been hit by car before? >> Yeah. >> How many times you get hit by a car before? >> Open songs, bro. >> Jesus. >> That's not a good thing, man. On February 7th, 2024, multiple law enforcement agencies in Payic County, New Jersey, responded to a 911 call from a witness who saw two men in ski masks stealing packages in their neighborhood. When the porch pirates saw the police, they decided to drive away in a stolen vehicle, which started a high-speed chase that led to a crash. >> Is everybody okay? Somebody in the car. >> One that way. >> What were they wearing? All black. >> All black. >> All All black gloves. They flood in two different directions right now. I'm on main and cliff. Over there. Over there. Over there. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> The theft turned into a disaster after they crashed into another motorist's vehicle. The officers were able to catch up with one of the suspects on the side of the highway. Even though he was clearly out of viable options, that was not the way he saw it. >> On the ground. Get on the ground. Stop. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. >> It's hard to imagine being so desperate that you'd sprint recklessly across a busy highway. Perhaps you lived by the motto, "Get rich or die trying." >> Stay on the ground. You okay? Oh, right here. Go. >> Stay down. >> Stay down. Stay down. Stay down. I got one at gunpoint. Stay down. >> Move in. >> Keep your hands out to the side. Stay down. >> Back up. Back up. Back up. Just watch. Relax. >> Relax. >> Relax. Take it easy. Okay, relax. >> 43. I have one in custody. >> Man, why you running like that? >> You okay? >> We got We got one here. One guy hit by a car over there. >> You heard him, bro. >> Huh? You have that injured? Yo, I'm sorry. You guys crazy, bro. West Street could just grab my phone cuz I want to pay more money for you. Relax. >> You injured anyway? >> Amazingly, the suspect was not badly injured. Even more incredible was that he didn't seem phased by all the chaos and commotion he had caused. For him, this was just an ordinary day in his life as a thief. That's what he was doing. Someone hauled. I was coming up the block. A neighbor stopped me and goes, "Yo, there's a guy in a black Honda possibly taking packages." I get the plate. Boom. Stolen. >> Flip around. Then he starts flying on Route 3 West. >> If you don't stop moving, put your handcuffs. >> If you got if you got if you got ri injuries, you're going to start messing them up going like that. Just relax. Okay, bro. >> You got hit by a car. It's my >> leg one, bro. Left or right? >> Left or right? >> Yeah. >> Which leg? Which leg's hurting, bro? >> Bro, I almost Thank God his rim was messed up cuz I wouldn't have follow I wouldn't chased on my put your hands behind your back. We're going to get an ambulance here for you. All right. >> But right now, you're under arrest. >> All right, sir. >> We're doing this for you. >> You're in possession of a stolen vehicle. >> You guys looted. >> All right. Reported stolen and then you're looted from us. After a completely reckless crime spree in broad daylight, one of the suspects still played innocent, surrounded by cops, handcuffed and injured, he somehow thought resisting was still a smart idea. Can you even walk? >> Yes, sir. >> I just want my hands in front of me. >> I'm looking you can't be switching them up, right? >> You got to take it easy, bro. Okay, you guys. Okay. >> Yeah. Shake it up. I don't know anybody's number. >> Okay, we got you. We got you. We got you. >> ID. >> We got you. Relax. >> Right now. Relax. >> Right now, the most important thing is making sure you're okay. Okay. >> Okay, bro. >> Do a 360. You're trying to pump. >> You can try to stand up and your ankle will be snapped. I don't know. >> All right. Just Come on. Just hit an >> You got You got hit pretty good, man. You did a full free and turn in the air. I'm good. >> I'm telling you that was that was that was a hard hit, brother. >> Boy, I've been hit before. >> You been hit by car before? >> Yeah. >> How many times you hit by car? >> Jesus. >> That's not a good thing, man. >> I ride bikes, bro. >> Nah. Come on, man. >> Come on, man. >> They're carrying you, bro. Come on, man. These two porch pirates, Jordan and I, were only 19 years of age. Between the two of them, they were hit with a long list of charges, including multiple counts of theft, conspiracy to commit theft, fleeing and eluding, obstruction, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest. No doubt both of them would be staying in prison for a long time. On the 27th of July 2022 in Burke County, Georgia, sheriffs responded to a complaint from a man whose package had been stolen off his porch. He had a hunch that the culprit was his next door neighbor. So they paid the suspect a visit. >> No, I was taking that brother. >> Okay. >> I was scared rob liquor store. >> Okay. I ain't got nothing to do with none of that. >> I got you. So you don't know who took that projector? I sorry I didn't I don't know what they got going with that projector. >> Yeah. >> What you mean? >> Like a RCA Roku projector. >> I like I said it was a box or something they was talking about. I didn't see no >> Okay. >> I don't know. I just left. It wasn't gone. Maybe 30 minutes. >> So you don't know who took it? >> Me? >> Yeah. >> No, no, sir. I didn't I don't have nothing to do with all that's between I don't know what they got going on back and forth with that drama stuff. Man, I just >> I I I got if you were taking them to the store to go get something. >> I took them to the liquor store right there at Mc Bean and came right back and then I think >> I mean that's fine, but they saying something went missing and it had to do something with that car. >> Oh, I didn't take nothing. You welcome. I don't steal. So, >> okay. But >> they said someone else do. >> I mean, >> you may not steal, but who won't steal? The missing item in question, which was a television projector, had been confirmed as delivered by the courier. The male suspect maintained that he had no knowledge of anything since he lived with two other ladies. The officer interviewed them as well. >> I live a couple houses up, so I was like, "All right, I'll give you a ride to go get some drinks and stuff." >> What's your name? >> Macy. >> Macy what? >> Hughes. >> Macy Hughes. >> ID on you. >> Well, the bikes I don't um Actually, all my stuff got burned on 4th of July. These days >> 06 23 was like FedEx or UPS. You know, you can find out from those people though, right? FedEx or whoever delivered the actual >> No, they did. It was 10 20 something. >> So, you don't know nothing about a projector? >> How long was we gone for >> a projector? >> A Roku projector. Home movie theater. >> Um, >> I know he was asking if you still had his lighter, whatever. You never seen one? >> Yeah. >> I mean, I've seen a projector before. >> Have you seen one today? >> Oh, I got his >> somewhere. >> She didn't realize. >> Where is it? >> I can get it off here. >> Where's it at? >> It didn't take long for 23-year-old Macy Hughes to admit she knew exactly where the stolen item was. Her involvement was painfully obvious, judging from her body language and inability to make eye contact with the sheriff. She was running out of excuses, so her friend tried to make up a story. >> It's my house. >> She thought, look, she I talked to her. >> She thought it was something I ordered from my mom. She really did. So when she opened it, see it wasn't. She's like, "Well, I guess I should give your mom a projector." >> Okay. Do you want to just step over there for me? >> All right. So you know where it's at? Yes. Is >> that your house? >> Well, I technically live here. >> Okay. What is What are you referring to your house as? >> Um, well, it's my little brother's house. It's right down the road. >> Okay. >> If you look carefully, you'll notice that Macy's friend was wearing an ankle bracelet. That's not a fashion statement. It's GPS tracking for someone in serious legal trouble. For this group, run-ins with the law seemed less like isolated incidents and more like a lifestyle. You have to feel sorry for the people living next door to them. >> How did you get the projector? >> Um, this morning when I came up here, it was on her porch. >> Okay. >> I wasn't sure. I thought maybe it was something that her fiance might have sent here or something. >> Okay. >> Or whatever. >> So, the the box was on her porch. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Did you look at the name that was on the box or anything? >> No, sir. >> Okay. What meant to me is that you saw the projector. You had the projector. You dropped it off at your brother's house and came back. >> Yes, sir. >> You knew the projector was missing and gone. You could have been like, "Holy, >> right. >> I just grabbed the wrong >> He was scared and >> he his vehicle whatever. Whatever. It's not You know what I mean? None of my business." >> You get what I'm saying though? >> Yes, sir. You left, dropped it off, came back. >> Yes, sir. >> I mean, it's it's almost seems like you were trying to hide it. Like you I mean, >> you can't say you didn't know it was stolen at the point that I was already here. >> Yes, sir. >> Now, if you'd have been like, "Holy, I totally saw that package earlier and I opened it." >> I'm not going to lie, I'm an alcoholic. I didn't even look at the name or read it or can't say that I was even able to read it at at that time or this time. She even claimed the package was misdelivered. The lies kept coming and all her excuses made even less sense. At this point, she would say anything to dodge the consequences of her actions. Drunk or not, her behavior was totally unacceptable. >> You want to go ahead and finish that cigarette? >> Um, why? >> Because I'm about to place you under arrest >> for >> theft of uh receiving stolen property. >> Oh my god. Please. Like, I can I can we I'll ride with you down here to get it. Like, it was on her porch. I was unaware that it was even anybody else's. >> I got to do my job at the end of the day. I mean, >> can we go talk to him? >> You dropped it off. >> See? >> We can. Maybe he doesn't want to press charges, but he's pretty pissed that someone took a [ __ ] Can you >> Please go talk to him first, please. >> Well, first I'm going to have you sit in the back of my car, then I'm going to go talk to him. Don't Don't make it difficult. >> I'm not I'm not trying to >> You want to finish cigarette? >> You got anything on you? >> No drugs, no needles, nothing like that. >> Macy wanted to ask for forgiveness. Sure, she had confessed, but only after being caught. It's easy to beg for mercy when you're totally out of options. And if the roles were reversed, you have to wonder how she'd react to being stolen from. The officer detained Macy and went to chat with the victim. >> All right. So, their friends came back. I talked to them. The woman that was with them admitted to me that the package was on her porch allegedly. She opened it up, saw it was a projector, took it to her brother's house down the street. Okay. The issue I expressed to her was, "Y'all drop your friends off from going to the store. I'm here looking for a missing package, missing projector, and y'all take off, >> right? >> And leave it at your brother's house and then come back. >> So, can you go get it? Check it out. >> Uh, yeah. Yeah. I'm We're going to we're going to get it today, but what I'm asking is, do you want to press charges on her? >> That's all they going to stop. >> Is that what you want to do? >> Yeah. Okay. >> Cuz for one, I don't go on their property. >> They have no business over here. They had no business over. >> Now, I don't know if they came over here or maybe the package did get dropped off at the house. I don't know. I'm just letting you know what she told me, which was the package was on her front porch. >> Well, I tell you what, we'll do go get the package. We make sure it ain't damaged >> and all that, and we'll go from there. >> With no cameras, it's impossible to know for sure if the package was misdelled or if Macy had trespassed onto his property and snatched it herself. Regardless, she had no right to keep the projector, let alone move it somewhere else. As the victim requested, the officer went to retrieve the stolen item. [Music] Okay. >> I'll help you out. >> 102. If you're not close, you can disregard. I'm about to be there. Is that it? >> Yeah. I want to press the charge. >> You do? >> Yeah. Cuz that's the only way they going to be stopped, bro. >> I got you. That's pretty much it. I'm glad we're able to get it back day, man. I'm sorry. I'm glad you too, man. I appreciate it. I say, man, you know, >> see if you can get a good uh doorbell camera or something. Yeah, we going to get that and then I'm going to get uh the SD cards to record. >> Yeah. Hell, just get a SD card and that thing going to be good. >> Yeah, we going to get a SD card and put it out. >> Mhm. Yeah. But I appreciate you, man. Yes, sir. >> Thank you for your time. Yes, sir. >> Macy wanted to apologize. Maybe she thought she could convince her neighbor it was all a big misunderstanding, but he was having none of it. Since he decided to press charges, the officer arrested Macy. >> All right. So, he he didn't want to talk to you cuz he does want to press charges. >> Okay. You got to understand you can't do that. >> I understand. >> It is what it is. You said you're an alcoholic, right? Right. You need to get some help. Something as simple as that. And if someone else put you up to it, you can't listen to that person. >> I know. >> But you got to take responsibility for this. >> It's something so simple. >> Macy Hughes was charged with theft of receiving stolen property. Hopefully, this would serve as a badly needed wakeup call for her to stay away from alcohol and other people's items. On the 7th of July 2023, police were called to a condominium in Shambblei, Georgia. They had received reports from multiple residents regarding a couple of thieves burglarizing property in the middle of the night with plenty of surveillance footage to prove it. >> So, is that your camera, Miss Hall? Actually, that is is that's the camera from the building. >> Oh, that everyone is >> It looks like that's the camera from the building. And um and uh they just put we have a Facebook page. >> Okay. >> So, they just put because they've been stealing packages and like breaking in in the you know like at 5 in the morning coming in and taking we're kind of fed up with that. So, >> hey. Yes, sir. Were you a um victim or did you see the >> Yes, I was actually a victim. Okay. >> When was your package stolen? >> It was It wasn't stolen. It was open. This is the one I found that was completely ripped apart and stolen. >> So, was everything gone? The merchandise was gone in there. >> This one is the one that my wife ordered. I don't know if she had anything else besides office. >> So, two packages. Were they in all the the contacts were gone when you got it? >> Uh, this one was open. I don't know if things are missing. I need to talk to my wife about this one. This one was completely gone. >> Okay. So, one pack. So, what day was that, sir? You don't mind? Uh today. >> Oh, today what time? You know the time frame? >> It was a few minutes ago, actually. >> Oh, great. So, I'm going to say like 1400, >> 2:00. >> Yeah. >> These thieves have been burglarizing the same property for over the course of several days, as if nobody would notice. Repeatedly burglarizing the same place isn't just bold, it's flatout dumb. Every return trip made it easier for police to track them down. And sure enough, it only took a few minutes for them to spot one of the suspects. >> Put your cigarette down for me. Put it down for me. >> What's going on? Cuz I don't have nothing. >> Yeah. >> Who the guy you just with? >> I have I >> You just with a guy in the black book bag >> too hard. Where's he at? >> No, no, no. I'm about to tell you if I'm not mist because I just met the dude not too long ago and I just went to the apartment into my apartment right down over here. >> My friend stays over here. >> I have no idea cuz I I just literally >> I literally just asked if I can buy this bike. >> You stuttering all over. We don't need >> cuz I don't know what's going on >> cuz I just need you to tell me who you was with. >> Go ahead and talk to her. >> Talk to her. >> Let's just run this back again. I just need you to tell me who you were with. You know who you was with. So don't hit me with the boo gang that you don't know who you with. >> His name is Thomas. That's all I know. >> Thomas who? >> I don't know his last name. I just met him. I just met him. >> Where you just met him at? >> Right over here at the train station. I promise on God on >> So you just met a random stranger at the train station and agreed to come back over here with him. >> No, my friend stays over here. I was trying to buy the bike off of him, which that's what I just did. Bought the bike off. >> That was it. >> So how did you buy the bike off of him? >> I gave him cash. I paid $15 for it. That was it. And that's that's it. >> $15 for a bite. >> Yes. >> Police had zero doubt the guy, Richard Lawson, was involved. With several videos and evidence, identifying him was too easy. He even stuck around the neighborhood after the theft. Talk about stupid. His accomplice at least had enough sense to leave. Though that's about the only smart move either of them managed to make. >> You uh I want to say on the 5th came of this month, two days ago, you and a white gentleman entered this establishment and you stole a few packages. >> Stole I don't want to say >> picked up. >> I almost said stole. >> Okay. Where you located? >> I don't I mean I >> I have you on video. I have a picture. >> I I and I understand that. But that >> reappropriated. >> I >> that's a better word for you. How you doing? >> Richard. >> Yes. >> I'm going to paint this picture for you. Right. So, y'all come in. Y'all park over. Y'all was chilling over there at the rail trail, right? Y'all come this way. You go sit over there. You sit on a little bench. Car comes in. Gates open. You dippity doo dah through the gate. The white nail dippity dooah through the gate with you. Got into the building. Almost. You go over to the mailboxes cuz it's obvious that you knew where you was going and >> [ __ ] >> You picked up a pry box, pull it from the bag that you brought with you. You try to get the mailbox open, doesn't open, take a few items out of a mailbox. You and the white male select a few boxes that's laying on the ground. You diggity dive back out the gate. I'll have you from every angle. The detective knew this was an open andsh shut case. Richard couldn't say or do anything to avoid his inevitable arrest. At this point, the only thing he was good for was helping track down his accomplice. And that started with the officer getting his phone. >> And you said, Thomas, you use which messenger? Facebook. >> Yeah, I'm good. >> Messenger. >> Like Facebook Messenger. What messenger? >> Yeah, cuz I don't have I don't have Yeah, he has Messenger. But I when I met him, I literally just let him phone at the other um >> I I got you. I got you. But you said Facebook Messenger. >> Yes. >> All right. >> So So Richard, do you mind unlocking your phone? >> Cuz what's going to happen is if you unlock your phone and you allow me to look through your phone, I'll give your phone right back and go with you. But if not, and I'm going to keep your phone, place it in evidence, dump it, and you'll never get it back. You let me look through it. Look for Phillip and Thomas and then your phone back. >> Okay. >> They take me a hot few seconds. >> She definitely knew all the right buttons to push. Under US law, officers investigating a crime have the right to search a suspect's phone for evidence. By giving Richard a simple ultimatum, she got access to Richard's phone and even found stolen credit cards in his possession. sticks in your back pocket like your ID and stuff. >> ID what? >> Okay. >> Uh cards that I >> cards you've been finding on the ground. >> All right. Do me a favor. Stand right here. Don't move. Okay. >> How long you been? >> How long you going to be sitting there? I can't tell you that particular >> Oh, I got nothing to do with that process. Okay. >> Now, you going to lose your cigarettes cuz you can't take cigarettes in the Dec County Jail. Okay. >> Uhuh. I don't want to smell that toxic stuff. All of these cards and names. You don't know nothing of them. This ain't going to come back to nobody that lives here. >> Like seriously, apologize. >> All right, hang t again. >> Oh, sorry. >> I apologize. >> My fault. I said I just dropped this. >> And one of them, he literally says in the message, "Are you in shambling?" "Yeah, I am." He's like, "I'm trying to make some money." >> Richard Lawson was charged with seconddegree burglary and financial transaction card theft. Not exactly oceans 11, just predictable, poorly planned crime. On December 8th, 2021, a man in Athens, Georgia, called 911 after observing a thief steal a package from his front porch a few minutes after it had been delivered. It took the responding officer just a few minutes to track down the black Toyota Camry that the suspect was driving. >> Hey, how we doing today? We're doing pretty good. How you doing? >> Doing well. >> You got your driver's license on you, sir? >> And can I ask what you're doing today? >> Um, I'm driving home. I just got back from work. >> Okay. Driving home? >> Yes. >> Where you stay at? And you said you're getting off work. Where's work at? So, what are you doing over here then? >> Um, I'm driving through. I got to meet a friend um right at Five Points. And then I usually drop off stuff. We're doing a secret Santa kind of deal. So, I got to go get Condor chocolates. >> Why don't you stop back there? >> Back here? >> Yeah. because there was somebody pulling up in front of me and I was trying to make sure that I >> wasn't like getting in everybody's way. >> Nobody was pulling up in front of you. >> Well, >> you stopped turning on your hazards and then I passed you. Any weapons or anything in the car? >> All right, sweet. Hang tight. >> Go ahead. Dark hair, black covered mask, black t-shirt. You want to go ahead and step out? >> You can leave it on, off, however you want to do it. I'm just going to roll this up so it doesn't uh get all wet. >> Okay. Well, let me tell you what's going on. >> Okay. >> So, you're well aware, we have lots of video footage from people stealing packages. Um, you're wearing exactly what they just described as a theft that took place 3 4 minutes ago. >> Oh, wow. >> And >> yeah. >> Yeah. Black shirt, short sleeve, black mask. The photos that we have from the Ring cameras look exactly like you and you're driving the same car with the same chrome outline on the windows. >> It was another open andsh shut case. The suspect was observed in broad daylight on a doorbell cam, leaving exactly zero room for doubt. Stealing packages in front of a doorbell cam is more than a crime. It's self-sabotage. >> Do you have anything in the car that I need to know about or do you want to go ahead and come clean and say, "Yeah, I just took that package off the porch." Is there anything you want to say to kind of defend yourself right now? >> Um, well, I will say I did take a package. >> Okay. >> Um, my house just a little bit back there on the ways. >> Yeah. Just a couple minutes ago, right? >> Yeah. >> Mhm. >> Um, >> you still have that package in your car? >> Yeah. >> Okay, sounds good. Go ahead and put your hands behind your back real quick. Okay. >> The best way to do it is if you pray. Yep. There you go. It's rare to have a suspect come clean so quickly without any resistance. No lies, no drama, just a full confession right off the bat. But the officer quickly learned this wasn't the suspect's first porch piracy spree. The Toyota Camry was more than just transportation. It was a storage locker for stolen goods. >> A lot of packages. >> We'll be taking all this. Well, you don't know what's in the box till you open it. So, >> Oh, yeah. He knew it was your back. >> Hey, my guy. >> Be honest. Is that the only house that you you went to? >> Honestly, I >> Cuz I've got several different addresses right now. >> I don't want to say anything currently. >> He say he doesn't want to say anything currently, >> but he is okay with meeting with detectives. Go >> ahead. We're not seeing the MacBook, but there are a lot of different packages with different addresses on it. >> It was the holiday season, and this guy went full reverse Santa, swooping in, not to give, but to take. With package after package, he was stuffing his Toyota Camry turned sleigh with other people's deliveries. He was basically the Grinch with a better haircut. >> This is interesting. Pretty sure I'm pretty sure those are probably going to everything probably. >> You have to build it though. >> Yeah. >> Want to work on doing a search warrant of his apartment to determine if he has any of the other belongings. >> You said your sergeant's going to work on that. >> Yeah. >> Or he's going to call Franco. >> Not use stuff. >> We'll take all that and put it in evidence, too. >> Call Ask him what kind of polo right now. >> There's no point in asking him right now. We'll take it. If it looks like it's it's new, it's probably new. We'll take it and put in evidence. Huh? Yeah. We're going to put all that in our trunk and we're going to put everything in the evidence. >> Good. >> Anything unopened that look new? >> Use a credit card. >> Credit cards, licenses. >> No, not that we haven't found anything like that yet. We took everything. So, >> this lipstick. >> You think this is taken too? That's new. It looks like it. >> Hold on. Yeah. >> So, we'll take this, too. >> You don't think that's his lipstick? >> Oh, it might be. You want to ask him? >> He'd clearly been at it for a while. Clothes, toys, lipstick, you name it, he took it. But the real surprise wasn't what he stole. It was how long he managed to keep getting away with it. Back at the station, he agreed to be interviewed by a detective. >> What's going on, man? Why are you taking people's packages? I mean that's that's the main thing is why because you know most of the time it's like dog food and right? >> Yeah. >> So are you down on your luck? Are you I mean what's the deal? >> I don't know. It's hard to I mean it's I guess it's not right. Um the biggest thing is like I have to afford school. >> Okay. >> And you know I just I'm struggling and >> I mean that makes sense. So you're it's a financial thing. You're looking for stuff of value. >> I don't know. I >> Have you ever been in trouble before? >> No, I'm like I mean not great student, but like good student. >> Okay. Well, so and and this are investigations early on, but I did a real quick look and there was stuff in your car from four four different houses packages. And there's mail, too. Are you taking out of mailboxes as well? >> I don't know. >> Okay. I mean I mean so I mean I Let me Let me show you this. Let me show you a couple things. I mean, have you seen the videos? Have the officer showed you any videos yet? >> I saw one of the videos. >> That's yesterday. That's you, is it not? I mean, it looks just like you. So, that's you. Um, see where there's one more on here. Not everybody has a Ring camera, but they're they're kind of they're becoming more and more common. Yeah. >> So, there's that one. And there's this neighbors app, and people post videos on here. this right here. I mean, right there, I I can tell that's you just just by the hair alone, man. >> The suspect smiled and nodded his way through interrogation. As it turned out, he was a university student with no prior record. You would think as a student, he would supposedly be working toward a better future, but by the looks of it, he was majoring in burglary and minoring in really bad decisions. >> Is any of the stuff that you've been stealing from these mailboxes at your house? >> What was it? Is there anything at your house from these mailboxes? >> So, everything should be in your car. Nothing else. Um, is anybody else working with you or you just doing this alone? >> No. God, no. I still >> Okay. So, I know the packages are from porches, but what about the mail? Are you checking people's mailboxes, too? >> No, I don't really want to turn. >> That's fine. Um, let me ask you this. Have you stolen anything out of a car recently? >> Um, no. Because we had a girl's laptop stolen from her car the other day and it was pinging. You know, you know how Apple products work. It was pinging right there at your house. I I'm just now putting all this together. When we search your house, are we going to find that girl's laptop? >> Okay. Another girl in that same area had her um debit card stolen and someone tried to use it at an ATM. >> No, I'm >> Well, I didn't know. Is Is that going to be you? >> No, I don't. That's like >> You didn't try to use anybody's card at an ATM? >> I remember. >> Okay. Um, but we might find that girl's laptop. Did you take it from that car yourself? >> Yes. >> He might have been handsome and cooperative. But being surprisingly honest about his misdeeds, it can't be denied that he's a serious crook. And if his car was any indication, his house would be a gold mine of stolen goods. So, the detectives moved to secure a search warrant. Do you think your roommates are going to be home? >> Um, one of them will be. >> Well, we're going to keep your keys. We'll put them into evidence because we don't want to have to kick your door. What What's your parents' phone number? >> That's my mother's. >> So, here's The way we're probably going to do all the package thefts is together as one felony so that you don't have to worry about getting charged with every package we find. Um, but the entering auto is something totally different. There's no other crimes we're going to link you to. Correct. >> All right. Well, good luck with this, man. Don't be We know who you are now. The man was charged with porch piracy and theft by taking. A judge allowed him to enter into a pre-trial diversion program which cost him $1,000 in order for his felony charges to be dismissed. Seems like all his cooperation paid off as the punishment was relatively light despite stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of property. On July 6th, 2023, Watcom County Sheriff's Office in Washington were alerted to an individual taking random items out of people's mailboxes on a hot summer's day. Deputies tracked down the suspect on a quiet country road and found a woman who wasn't wearing any pants. >> Touch me. Get away from me. Don't touch me. Get away from me. Don't touch us. >> Don't touch us. >> You're not free to leave. You're being detained right now. You have no reason face. Get out of my face. >> I didn't do anything again. Why? I do nothing. >> You want to do nothing? You guys don't do anything for me. Why? Why? >> Why? >> Just to let you know, you are being recorded. >> You're under arrest for assault. You have to judge me for this. >> I'm going to read you your rights. >> Listen, you you assaulted me. Period. That's what I want to protect. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in the court. >> Violating my civil rights. >> You have the right this time to talk to your lawyer and have no reason to talk to me. And you cannot afford to hire a lawyer. One will be appointed to represent you before the question if you you wish. >> Decide at any time to exercise these rights, answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand the rights I've explained to you? You have no reason to talk to me. >> Do you want me to read them again? >> You have no reason to talk to me. >> I'll read them again if you like. >> My bill. >> You're going to see a judge tomorrow. >> Don't lie to me. >> I'm not I have no reason to lie to you. >> Absolutely. Are you okay? >> I'm upset. >> Do you need any medical attention? >> He just assaulted me. >> Are you injured? >> My neighbor. >> Without a doubt, the woman Christine was a hot mess. It won't be surprising if she was on narcotics. If not, then it was more concerning. Judging by her face, she looked like someone who had an illness. >> You were being detained because you were going through mailboxes. >> I didn't go through no mailboxes. I put something on the mailbox I found in the ditch. >> That's all I did. >> Well, then you shouldn't have walked away when I told you to stop. >> You shouldn't You should have tried talking to me. It's entertaining. >> No, you were. You kept on rocking. >> Entertain me. That's what you said. You didn't say you want to talk. You said I'm going to detain you. You have no right to detain me for nothing. I didn't do >> no just >> No, you were being detained and you didn't you kept on walking to talk to me. Period. There no reason to go. >> What? >> Yep. I'm not We're not going to We're not going to We'll let a judge decide whether I did was right or wrong. >> It was disgusting and you violated my rights again and I don't appreciate it cuz you know I'm shell shocked from it already. You >> I don't even know who you are. Obviously, the deputy had no idea who Christine was and knew even less about her past trauma. To him, she was just a pantless stranger screaming in the middle of nowhere, raiding mailboxes. >> What's your name? >> Where's my bail? >> You have no bail at this point. >> Why? >> Because that's the law. >> That's in violation of my rights. >> Okay. All right. Well, you can dispute that with the judge. That's fine. >> I can dispute it with him today. >> What's What's your name? >> I can dispute him with him today. >> Are you going to get booked in as a Jane Doe? Is that it? >> I don't know what the my name is today. Okay. I just don't feel good. My neck hurts and I'm not trying to do anything crazy. >> All right. I'll have an aid unit come and check you out. Okay. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Do you want me to roll the windows down? >> Yes, please. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> Are you on any drugs right now? >> No. >> Have you taken any drugs today? >> I'm not taking any meds or anything today. >> Are you under care of a doctor or anything? >> I've been trying to get a hold of the lady at the clinic, but it's like 4 days 4 weeks out and I just stopped going. And the the reason I'm concerned is the way you reacted to me, right? In your in your be honest with you. >> I know cuz my pants >> like where are your pants? >> Lost them somewhere. I don't know. >> I'm concerned with your welfare as well. >> Too hot in your I'm just too I'm supposed to be going back out there to the rest. We're just coming to get something to drink and go back over there. >> I don't have a car to walk anywhere as [ __ ] >> Here. I'm going to take this off your neck. >> You don't know where your pants are? >> No. No, I had him in one of my bags. I don't know what it >> Okay. >> Do you know what you were doing prior to us contacting you? >> No, sir. >> Do you do you remember? >> Hot. >> Christine had no form of identification. She claimed she couldn't remember what she was doing. It was anyone's guess what the real issue was, but the deputy had a hunch she was going through drug withdrawal. >> Did you go through any other mailboxes? Just the one. >> Just that's it. And I only opened it cuz in Bellingham it'll give me money more if they don't open it. And those are elders and I know so I didn't want that to happen to them. >> Okay. Do you understand that this could have been resolved very quickly if you would have just talked to me? >> I was I was I feel weird. I'm naked and it's hot. >> I know. Well, like I said, I have lots of concerns of what's going on. Like part of that is your welfare as well. >> It's really hot right now. >> I see that you're sweating. Is there a breeze coming through here at all? Okay. >> We'll try to keep the door open here. All right. But like I said, this could have been resolved pretty easy if you would have just cooperated, right? >> I wasn't trying to argue with you, sir. >> You were doing a good job of it, though. >> I was tripping out really bad right now. >> Why were you tripping out? >> Because I was having flashbacks as I'm working out. >> You know, we're generally pretty nice if you talk, right? >> Yes. >> And you just like >> this person, >> I don't want to talk to you, but I'll stand right here and do as I'm told. No, the person told me that I got have a job at the Shell station and I ended up all my stuff out cuz I didn't have anybody to get a ride there cuz they let me out on the bike and I had to help get out of there. So, I went all the way back up through Red River Road and then I got stuck there for a while trying to get out of there. >> Okay. >> When the aid unit comes here too, I'm going to ask him to give give us a sheet so we can kind of cover you up too. Protect your privacy as well. I'm going to have a female deputy kind of stand with you here. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Christine, can you tell me your last name? >> I don't know it honestly. >> You don't know your remember your last name. >> Have you been booked in the jail before? >> It's been a long Yes, it's been a while. >> Okay. What's a while? Like years? >> No. I've been working on them for I have until the 12th of June to come up with a paying job on the books and I have all these programs lined up. So, I was looking for Aaron Lekkey and we were supposed to go down across the street and talk to him from work source or workforce or something like that. Okay. >> And then him and his girlfriend started fighting and then I don't know what happened. I got left again. >> Okay. All right. Well, what what name would you think you'd go by? Last name. >> I'm sorry, I can't hear you. >> Hernandez. >> Jesus Hernandez. >> Okay. So, Christine Jesus Hernandez. Okay. She was talking a mile a minute, jumping from one thought to the next, but she barely made any sense. She would need to use any and all available resources to get back on her feet. >> Christine, if you don't mind standing up, we're going to get you back in the car. Okay, >> you can go in your car. >> Okay, come stand up. One, two, three. Yep. >> There you are. Not a court anymore. >> Hey, let's go over this way. >> Do some of that. >> Don't touch me and I'll walk perfectly fine. >> You are going to be >> You're going to Why are you touching my arm? >> You could fall down. No, I can be fine. I'm not a horse. I'm a fine person and I can walk, fight, and thank you. As long as you don't touch me, I'll get in your car. >> I'm not a I'm not touching anymore. I'm not a police dog. Don't >> you let her You can let her walk. >> Don't let me be your dog. I'm not a dog for real. Don't me, man. >> Christine, just just be nice. Okay. >> Is messed up. >> This is not dog ever again. >> I don't know if we just want to put that over our lap cuz it's hot or something >> for you and me. What became of Christine remains a mystery. No formal charges were announced and no clear explanation ever surfaced. Just another troubled soul battling addiction looking for drugs in random mailboxes. For the deputies, it was one more bizarre encounter in a job full of them. On January 4th, 2025, a woman was seen on surveillance camera stealing her neighbor's package at their residential apartment. The woman, Margarita, was living in the building with her mother and her son. Westmont, Illinois, police promptly paid the half-witted burglar a visit. >> Hello. >> Hi, ma'am. Officer Mendes. >> Yes. >> Is your daughter home? >> Yes. >> Can we speak with her? >> Everything okay? Yeah. [Music] >> Why? I don't know. Hi, >> I am Officer Mendes, Westmont Police. Were you downstairs this morning picking up a package? >> Yeah, my two Amazon packages. Yeah. >> Okay. So, one of those packages was reported stolen by a member downstairs. >> I can show you the two Amazon packages. >> Yeah. Do you mind? >> Yeah. Hold on one second. Show you the picture. Yeah. Yeah. Hold on one second. that you see it says Margarita cuz I took care of and it's the apartment number and then this is the other one. I don't know where the hell this came off here. But you should have a >> Yeah, it's got to be in the garbage cuz I want to put it in the garbage. >> I can take my phone. Hi. >> Margarita seemed flustered and confused. But what was so confusing? Sending and receiving packages is as straightforward as it gets. You place an order and it arrives with your name on it. Obviously, the neighbor was going to track down her missing item. Disgusting. >> These my >> Okay. So So this here is one package. >> Yeah. >> These are two separate packages. >> The one these two came. >> Okay. Okay. So where where's this one at? >> That just I don't know. That could be Amazon. >> Oh wow. My phone's dead. It's charging. That could be from I'll tell you right now. A million of these. >> Don't do that. >> Because I ordered tons of hair extensions. >> Okay. >> Do you know where these light bulbs can a light bulb? >> Sometimes right here. >> I have no idea. >> Are these yours? >> No. >> I don't know. We don't use these. >> Okay. >> Yeah, we don't. >> Yeah. Those >> the beast. Yes. >> Yeah. I do see we have >> You don't remember ordering these ones at all? >> No. You see, we use those and that's like 4 point. What is that? A four watt? >> Mhm. >> Do you got these from? >> No. As you can see, we're kind of invading her space. So, there's boxes everywhere in this house. >> Imagine running the risk of going to jail over some light bulbs. Maybe she thought the package contained something more valuable, like a designer handbag, some jewelry, or a do-it-yourself Botox injection, but nope. It was just light bulbs. Hardly worth the trouble or the embarrassment. >> That was the bag and that was a box. >> Mhm. >> That was both mine. >> So, did it say that you received two packages or just the one? cuz it looks like package was left near the >> only ordered the one item. Was there two? >> No, I ordered three items. >> Okay. >> See, one, two, and then three. This came in a separate box. Those are little box and those two came in the big bag. >> Lights from her daughter. >> I had two boxes. Two bags. A bag and a box. >> Okay. So, we also have, you know, a picture from the complainant, you know, saying, "Hey, my package was placed on the table this morning." >> Yeah. You might see me on the camera jumping up and down cuz I got my Amazon packages. >> That's what you're going to see. >> Yeah. But it appeared like the top package was hers. >> But as you can see, these are the packages that are there. And you might find a million other Amazon packages and they'll have that same address cuz I have an obsession with hair extensions. >> Mhm. >> Just OCD. One common trick suspects use is bringing up irrelevant information in the hopes of throwing police off their criminal scent. Margarita was doing just that by discussing her hair extensions and supposed OCD, but these distractions only made herself look more and more ridiculous. >> But nothing malicious was going out. >> So, here's go. >> That's your phone. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And it doesn't have it has what you received today, correct? >> Yes. I'll show you what it says. That's here. See, that's my bag. And that's my box. >> Okay, that's your box. >> Yes, that's my box. And that's the bag. >> You should have told me that. I got to for me to get out cuz >> I know there's I have Amazon package. Somebody saying I stole something. >> Mhm. >> Well, my stom. >> So, that's your delivery. Says your package. >> Mhm. >> What's in What's in the package? That one was the >> the first one was Yeah. The first one is the Why would you be like um >> here's the issue that we have is >> packages are there. >> Mhm. >> One of the packages not yours. >> We we know what was in the package. Okay. >> Because other reported >> and that's what's right there. >> Right. I agree. >> Now, those didn't magically get to, right? They were brought here by you. >> Okay. You you you notice the names are on these but not on that one. And that there's there's a reason for that is because it has someone else's name on it. >> I'm gonna hide it in the garbage. >> Your hand. >> Hold on. >> That's that's my that bother. >> It's got to be in here. What? >> You don't ask my friend to check in that bowl right there? >> Okay. But can I see that one in your hand? >> This one? >> Yeah. >> What is it? >> What am I looking for? >> Yeah. >> You can't see. It just says Cass Avenue. Well, can I see it? >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> Okay. So, this is for a different name in a different apartment, ma'am. >> So, >> that that I didn't I didn't bring those two packages that were out there. Those are my two packages. >> Well, this is the label for that package. >> But I >> with a different name and a different >> Didn't open that. >> In addition to being a kleptomaniac, Margarita was also a pathological liar. The stolen item was in her apartment already unboxed and the label from that box was in her trash where she tried to hide it. >> If you saw me in the video, you'll see me looking at the packages and you'll see me dancing because they're both my packages. I'm not dancing. >> So, how did you get this label? >> Just I'm looking in the garbage. Like, look at this. There's all types of all kinds of other there's all types of >> number. No, I didn't. >> And again, on camera, I'm holding my two packages. I'm not holding anybody else's packages. >> How the hell did that get here? >> Cuz this one's also dated for today, >> right? But >> so it got here because she brought it up here, man. I did not bring it back. >> Had my name on it downstairs. I don't know how that one came up here. That's what I'm saying. >> You guys hear nobody else's name. You'll probably find this name. >> Okay, I know that. But I'm saying if you'll check, you can check all over the house. There's a million Amazon packages all with my name cuz I order constantly. Okay, Daisy. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to go to the station. >> All right. >> Steel light problem. >> There would be no other way to explain why the label was ripped off the box and thrown in the trash. She claimed she had no idea how the light bulbs and label got in her apartment. >> I see it looks crazy, but I'm not stealing light. So, what we're going to do is we're going to go to the station. You're going to be charged with the theft. You're going to go to court and you can explain it there. >> Can I talk to the gentleman? >> Okay. >> Can I talk to the gentleman who's pressing charges? Can I just explain? I don't I don't know how I got here. >> Do you want to sign against? >> Sorry, misunderstood. >> Okay. So, >> they're arresting me. >> Arrested, charged, should be released. >> I mean, how it shouldn't take long. I'm being >> takes as long as it takes a processor which would be released right away like after you're done processing. So you don't need take a purse or anything like that. Um if you want to you can but it's just you know going to take longer cuz we have to inventory everything. >> I'm just pissed off getting arrested for freaking 4.5 watts. I try [ __ ] >> Is that all right? >> Yeah. >> We're just going to go across the street. Like I said, it shouldn't take that long. >> No, I know. I just This is the association. They me my son all the time. They give my mom fines left and right for stupid. They just were We're the only not white people in Berlin. >> Margarita was charged with theft then released. If she wasn't already the most unpopular person in the building, this sealed it. It was on February 16th, 2025, when sheriffs in Pierce County, Washington, were dispatched after a 911 call alerted them to a suspicious person in a UPS uniform prowling around without delivering packages. >> Hey, bud. Are you associated with that black car over there? >> What? >> Cuz we got a suspicious person call. Do you live around here? >> Oh, that black car right there? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah, that's fine. I'm sorry. >> Okay. Do you live around here? >> No, I'm going door to door. I'm doing a darn thing. Uh, >> how long you been parked over there? >> Like 30 minutes. I was just writing my story. >> Do you Do you have an American flag mask? Is that Is that an American flag mask? >> Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So, is that your car? You haven't been parked there for eight hours? >> No, not at all. >> Okay. Do you have my ID on you? >> Did I do anything wrong? >> It's about to get to >> Yeah. >> Oh, I was I literally got here. I can show you. >> You want to give us your >> You have your ID or not? So, you're being audio video recorded. >> Is this your house? >> No, I was going I'm going door to door. >> Do you see their no soliciting sign? >> Yeah. Come on. Step over here. How come you're dressed in a UPS uniform? >> It's a It's a joke. It's about >> Yeah. Get your ID out. It's very funny. Sit down. This is weird. Do you have any guns or weapons on you? >> No. >> Put your hands on the >> I don't put your hands on the truck. >> I didn't do anything wrong. >> You're being detained. Sit down. Sit down. >> You have put it right there. >> Otherwise, you're going in handcuffs. There's two ways to do this. This isn't Seattle. >> Get your idea. >> Listen, my ID is in my car. >> Okay. Put your hands right here. >> Okay, sir. I'm not >> Put your hands on there. >> I'll tell you what you look like. You look like a prowler. >> What is a >> Put your hands on there. You're going to get dumped on the ground. You understand that? These officers were not in the mood to play games. In a quiet suburban neighborhood, walking around in a fake uniform and creeping onto people's property is going to get noticed fast. This was not only suspicious, but was incredibly strange. >> Prowler is someone who goes door to door checking to see if houses are going to be unoccupied. >> Daylight. >> You're wearing a UPS uniform. You cleared the wardrobe from UPS. Stop talking. You want me to answer some questions, right? So, I'm I'm explaining to you what a prowler is. That is a prowler. >> You're wearing UPS and you're not even UPS. You've been parked there for eight hours. I am >> You're walk You're coming from a drug house. So, stop. >> We're in the drug house. >> What's your last name? Spell it. First name. >> What's all this? Is it put hands on there? You want to go ground? Knock it off. >> I'm sorry. >> Middle of name. birthday. >> Oh, pardon. Look at this. >> Yes, that was a firearm the police officer pulled out of the suspect's pocket. A firearm that the weirdo had tried to reach for just a moment earlier. Working well as a team, these partners were sharp and in sync. With their quick instincts, they were able to prevent a violent outcome. >> Gun. What is that? I don't know. I found it. >> You done with your frisk or No. >> No, I'm not. >> Just felt something hard. I looked like a gun and then apparently it was a gun. >> Are you a felon? >> No. Yes. I didn't know that. >> Oh, look at that. A felon in possession of a firearm. >> I didn't know that that was a like a real gun. I've never seen a gun that small. I just found it, sir. All right. >> What are you doing? >> What are you doing? >> That is the worst fake seizure I have ever seen. Knock it off. >> Step out of it. You're having a seizure. Want to make sure you're okay. >> Breathe. Breathe. >> And stop pretending to have a seizure. You don't have a seizure cuz you're not having a seizure. >> I can't breathe through my breath. >> The sheriffs weren't buying the suspect's fake seizures. That's why one of them gave a quick sternum rub, which is a painful foolproof way to check for fakers. Sure enough, the woman flinched. >> I have >> We have one fake seizure. Can you send fire? >> Affirmative. Oh, I found some too. >> Shocking. >> I'm still trying to figure out how to unload this, >> guys. I'm not getting >> What's the problem with you? >> I can't breathe. >> Well, now now your car. >> Take some slow, deep breaths. >> Did you get a good fris? Make sure she doesn't have any other guns on there. working on it cuz I don't want to get picked or stuck or >> I understand that. >> Stop. >> Did you use drugs today? >> Listen, if you continue playing this game, >> I will tell you a car. >> So, stop using any drugs today. >> I can't breathe. There's nothing obstructing your airway. >> I know it's not that. >> I'm still trying to figure out how to render this weapon safe. Looks like she's playing dead. >> That's a good point. I think I have Narcan in the back. >> Oh, you're not dead. jail. So, >> are you going to stop being stupid or what? >> Are you going to jail anyway? >> Are you going to be so car? Can you stop faking seizures? Can you stop faking medical? So, were you faking a seizure? >> Yes or no? It's not illegal to just tell me truth. Will you just take the seizure or not? >> Will you just take the seizure? Okay. >> So, do you need this Narcan or not? >> So, I won't waste my life-saving medical supplies on this. >> As if it wasn't obvious enough, she wasn't just playing dead. There was no overdose, just theater. There was no point in wasting valuable medicine. >> Do we finish a weapons first? >> I'm I'm working on it. >> You need to stand up. >> I can't stand up. You're going to stand up cuz you have one gun on you. We're going to make sure you don't have another one. Now spread your feet apart and stand there and stop playing games. >> I'm sorry. I don't have >> You have anything else on you other than a gun? >> I found that you guys. Like I didn't know it was a blue gun. It doesn't look like anything I've ever seen. >> Be like, "Wow, you did 11 years of That's amazing. >> I'm trying to get into rehab, you guys. >> Obviously, 11 years wasn't long enough for you to learn. >> Listen, you have the right to remain silent. >> It comes to no shock to learn that the suspect spent 11 years in prison for a prior felony conviction. And with more felony convictions on the horizon, she was about to go right back where she came from. >> So, listen. This is your time to be honest >> and be straight forward with my partner. I don't want to talk to you. You piss me the off. >> You had a gun. You're a felon and you're faking stuff. Now, the fire department's gonna come over here. These people are taxpayers. You're wasting their time and money. So, how about you talk to my partner, be honest, over your rights? >> So, let's start with question one. You don't live here. Why are you walking around on people's houses dressed like the UPS driver? >> I went to go check out uh and see what that burnt house looked like. I didn't I was just looking at the burnt house. Okay. >> I didn't break in. Did you you were going into the burnt house? >> I didn't go in. I >> Is it your house? >> No, I just heard about it. I never They said it was super fried and I just wanted to look at it. >> How long have you been here? >> Literally, I promise you like hour and a half tops. >> Okay, so the people that said you've been here for 8 hours are lying. >> I promise on everything. Like I'm not going to lie to you again. >> Where'd you get the UPS costume? >> My friend had it. >> Why are you wearing it? >> I I just feel like people won't like look at me. I was just I just wanted >> So to conceal your presence in the neighborhood, you're dressed like a UPS driver. >> Well, yeah, but >> So, what are you doing that you're not supposed to be doing if you need to dress in a disguise? >> Well, I just didn't want to draw any attention when I was looking at the house. >> Where did you get this gun? >> Stammering and stuttering, the suspect claimed she'd found the gun, a 22 Magnum, behind four tall trees. Absurd, of course. Even though the sheriffs had a duty to ask investigative questions, they knew by then that nothing coming out of her mouth was true. >> Why do you have handcuffs? >> Because I don't guys do >> No, that doesn't make any sense. Why do you have handcuffs? It's not because you're a Why are you carrying a pair of handcuffs around in disguise, wearing gloves, carrying a gun? >> Oh, it's >> It doesn't look good, does it? >> No. What is this? >> Me? It's a It's a pipe thing. Me and my girlfriend. Look, >> you got anything else on you? >> Get into rehab. >> Okay. >> I have I I just I just went to DSHS two days ago and I got my insurance put back together. I don't want to go back to prison, sir. >> That's not up to me whether you go back to prison or not. >> Do not send me to jail. Like, I'll do anything. Like anything. I'll I'll shoot anything. I can't. >> So, here's the problem we have, okay? is you're in a neighborhood you don't live in, dressed in disguise with a loaded gun in your pocket, wearing gloves, with a face mask on, dressed like a UPS driver. >> What the are you doing? >> The suspect was charged with felony possession of a firearm, attempted burglary, criminal impersonation, and possession of burglary tools. It's likely that the 11 years she spent in prison would turn out to be a drop in the bucket of a lifelong pattern of crime and punishment. As we've seen, the criminals behind porch piracy aren't masterminds. They're more like masters of self-sabotage. In the age of doorbell cams, getting caught isn't a risk. It's almost a guarantee. Thanks for watching.
