At this shop in North Carolina called Synergy Autoare, there was a customer who was fed up with the employees that denigrated Junth in a covert way. Take a look at the video and then we will dive into some of my views. Wilson car shop owner this evening is apologizing after one of his employees comments about Junth has sparked backlash. The incident was also caught on camera. It led to one customer walking out and demanding her car back. WL's Flynn Snder talked with the shop owner about what happened. It started Wednesday when a customer in the waiting area at Synergy Auto Care asks an employee behind the desk replies [Music] leading to this comment from the customer. That's when another employee says, "I know, right?" Immediately, a black woman sitting in the waiting area starts to walk out, appearing upset over the exchange. Please pull my truck around and give me my key. Seconds after the customer leaves, a third customer in the waiting area asks exactly, but I think it's something to do with reparations. Once word spread about the incident, the shop's owner, Joshy, posted the footage online to explain what happened. He quickly removed the post and his business's Facebook page after receiving fierce backlash. What did your staff member mean by I know right in response to that customer? He she was thinking the holiday had a whole another meaning. She was she was believing it had to do something with the school letting out teenagers where the teeth came from. It made several attempts to contact the woman seen walking out in the video which has now been shared widely on social media. Her relatives told us she was unavailable for an interview. Several accounts have voiced support for the woman. "Thank you for standing up for us at that shop, love," said one commenter. "You did the right thing," said another. The shop owner says he's since taken steps to educate the employee and the rest of his staff about Junth, a holiday which became a federal observance in June 2021, commemorating the end of slavery in the US. She doesn't really have a platform to to say how much she apologizes for it and she wishes it never happened. But she tells me every day that you know she wishes it didn't go down that way and she didn't know and she wishes she would have known what she knew now. Doy says he has reached out to the woman in the video to apologize. Blint Snider WRL News Wilson. Now the shop owner claims that some of his employees have gotten death threats after that exchange. She tells us no one has been terminated following the incident. Before I begin, I would like to state that if someone doesn't like the behavior from the company in which a customer is receiving service, always leave and take your business elsewhere. I find it commendable and the act of leaving versus staying shows that you are not desperate and have standards. I believe that the employees were aware of the message that they mentioned. This is Josh Doerty, the owner of Synergy Autoare. He mentioned that one of his employees who laughed at the comment made about Junth wasn't aware of the holiday's meaning and thought that the meaning was based on teenagers. I find that hard to believe because in the video you can clearly hear one of the employees give their definition of the holiday mentioning that he believes the holiday was about reparations. A third customer in the waiting area asks nobody knows but I think it's something to do with reparations. In a country where nearly everyone has access to a computer or a phone that has the capabilities to give on the spot definitions of anything requested, it is a low possibility that whoever laughed and stated, "I know, right?" was unaware. She doesn't really have a platform to to say how much she apologizes for it and she wishes it never happened. But she tells me every day that, you know, she wishes it didn't go down that way and she didn't know and she wishes she would have known what she knew now. Oh, when business is affected, that is when the apologies come forth. I find it disingenuous to apologize solely because of the major backlash and negative impact that your business is experiencing. It is more proper to either apologize directly after the occurrence or double down when the challenge is on. What did your staff member mean by I know right in response to that customer? He she was thinking the holiday had a whole another meaning. She was she was believing it had to do something with the school letting out teenagers where the teeth came from. Josh, that is utter nonsense. It is illogical and foolish to believe that someone would think that the teenth in the word junth was derived from the word teenagers. Not buying that one bit, Josh. Your employee gave her inner thoughts about a holiday based on the ending of slavery, and that is just about it. Nothing more, nothing less. Your employee wanted everyone in that auto shop lobby to know her disagreement with Junth being a federal holiday. Josh posted the video surveillance on social media, more than likely believing that he was going to get people agreeing with the behavior of the employees and the situation that transpired. However, he got just the very opposite and his business is greatly affected due to his bad decisions. If you haven't subscribed to the Prime Analyzer channel, you are missing out on great content.
