Go to the beach and look for him. >> What's he wearing? What's he wearing? What's he wearing? >> Hold on. Hold on. >> Ma'am, what's he wearing? >> He's here. >> That's what I'm saying. >> Ma'am, get up first. Come over to our car. >> Do we come with her? >> Um, stay here. Walk with the officer. >> You want them to come or no? You want them to stay there? >> Yeah, I'll stay with I stay with the brother. Yeah, they go over there by Will. All right. Come over by our sister. >> Listen, we're like aing five adults here with two of my kids. I just came to to take him to the beach. >> I understand, but when you're questioning why somebody else is holding your daughter, that means that you should have been there. >> But literally, you were all paying attention to like I was literally just leaving. >> How could everybody be paying attention if an honest citizen that don't even know >> what's going on right now? Like I don't understand which way around and died in the beach. You left her with a 5-year-old brother, right? >> What is going on? >> Okay. You left your daughter in the beach with a sibling that's 5 years old. >> Watching them >> and she was drowning. Someone had to take it out of the water cuz she almost drowned and died. Do you understand that? >> The police are conducting a child neglect investigation. They suspect that this female suspect left her preschoolage children alone at a beach which possesses significant risks such as drowning, getting lost, traffic, strangers, and heat exposure based on the circumstances. The police have probable cause to arrest the suspect as she allegedly did not understand why someone else was caring for her children. Now, like I don't understand which way and died in the beach. You left her with a 5-year-old brother, right? >> What is going on? >> Okay. You left your daughter in the beach with a sibling that's 5 years old. >> Watching them. >> She was drowning. Someone had to take her out of the water cuz she almost drowned and died. Do you understand that? >> I'm a good mom. >> We're not saying you're not a good mom. >> I'm not saying you're a bad mom. I'm not saying that you're not a bad mom. I never >> You stepped away from them. >> I left away from them for like 5 minutes. >> You left them with a 5-year-old and she ended up drowned. That someone had to go into the water cuz she went too deep and she was taken in water and she almost drowned and people in the beach had to step in and get her out from the water cuz she almost died. Do you understand where we're at right now? >> Where were you at that point? >> Mom, I'm not saying >> I was living right there. I've been checking on her every 5 minutes. >> I BROUGHT A BLANKET. I BROUGHT WATER. I BROUGHT COKE. I BROUGHT everything for them to be comfortable for today. >> Literally last night was my birthday. Today I'm like, "Okay, I'm going to spend them with my kids." I've been with them all day. Like, if that happened for like a second, >> you know, like if that person didn't step in, SHE WOULD HAVE DIED. >> I'M NOT A bad mom. I don't know what to tell you. >> I never said that you're a bad mom. But what I'm saying is a sority would have occurred. You stepped away. She almost died. >> I don't understand. >> All right. I know for a second I understand that >> she was at my bar and she had the kids and the truth is when the friend got drunk I think she thought the men were looking after the babies. >> This witness isn't making logical sense when someone establishes a caretaker for their children. It is an agreement. A prudent person doesn't get intoxicated and then assume bystanders are automatically responsible for their children's care. When the friend got drunk, I think she thought the men were looking after the babies. She literally has had them the whole time. And I if she wasn't if she was a parent, I would have said so. I'm a foster parent. I f I foster through citrus. I've adopted. I'm very big on kids. She has had them the whole time. Uh-huh. >> And so when her friend was stumbling drug, these are her friend shoes. I think it's her shoes. >> She took it to the bathroom because she's like she's throwing up, you know. So that's I don't want you to believe that she just she wasn't just not being a mom. >> So where's the friend at now? Or did she leave somebody else in charge? >> So she So she so she went to go Oh god, I cried. She went to go she went to go to take her to the bathroom. She said with her brother and her friends I I think they assumed that the brother and the friend were going to be watching while they were in the in the women's room cuz she literally just went. She was not. She's literally been there the whole time and the kids were with her. I'm not trying to be funny, but they really were. So I I She wasn't not being a good mom. >> Okay, hold on, man. Hold on. >> Somebody found her daughter. I understand. >> Hold on. After you like the video, hype the video. Swipe left or right on the comment bar until you see the hype button. Tap the hype button and choose the point amount. And thanks to you, this video is now hyped. >> Was not She's literally been there the whole time and the kids were with her. I'm not trying to be funny, but they really were. So I I She wasn't not being a good mom. >> Okay, hold on. Hold on. >> Somebody found her daughter. I understand. >> This so-called friend of the suspect flashing a badge to the responding officer is foolish. Showing a badge is irrelevant to the investigation and is an immature, unprofessional choice. >> Hold on, ma'am. Hold on. >> Somebody found her daughter. I understand that. >> All right. Somebody found her daughter in the water drowning. Some citizen, little girl saw the baby drowning. Yeah. The baby's out. Yeah. She's wondering why somebody else is holding her daughter and you're trying to tell her you were not there for her. That's why another citizen is a bartender, a waitress is holding a child. Why doesn't she know that a citizen is not holding her child? >> I went with her friend and she was concerned like she >> If you just Where's her daughter? Can I make sure she's okay? >> Yeah, she's with Sergeant Benedetti. He's over there underneath. Yeah, you can go over there. >> Okay, thank you. >> He's a a bartender at out at one of the tiki bars and he's ascertain he's sticking up for her saying all the time she's been with her child. She always been there. She's not drunk. She hasn't been doing anything. What happened was they were walking a drunk friend over to the bathroom. >> So, she kind of left the kids there alone thinking the two other men were going to take care of the kids while she walked the drunk friend to the bathroom. So, that's he's defending her as a bartender saying she's been with those kids all the time. This was just one of incident. She walked away thinking that the men are going to take care of it and watch the two the two kids, you know. So, she did. She walked her friend when they said she left 15 minutes ago. That's what she did. She walked over to to meet the bathroom. Now, this lady flashed a badge in my face. I didn't read it. Um she just wanted to know what's going on, but apparently they're both friends, you know. Who's your friend here? The She showed me a badge. Who does she work with? >> This is my friend. She comes from Texas. She became a cop. My other friend is here from like Tallahassee. It's my birthday. >> I just brought my >> She's a cop in Texas. >> Yeah. She just I just brought my kids here to have a good time. I'm not drunk. I'm not anything. If I lost sight of her for a second, then it was a second. It had nothing to do with >> But when you walked your friend, you walked your friend to the bathroom. >> No, I never went to the bathroom. I was here. I was washing them the whole time. I don't even know when the this happens. Like, >> well, little kids, it happens quick. >> No, I know. I know. BUT I BROUGHT A BLANKET. I BROUGHT DRINKS. I bought water. Like, this was our day. I don't know why I'm even here. Like, I didn't even know that was happening. I'm a good mom. Like, >> I've never had a felony. I've never done drugs. I've never done anything. Like, I don't even know why I'm here. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> You know what I mean? And I respect you 100%. I respect your job and everything. I understand. >> We're trying to match up why a citizen found your daughter in the water. That's what I'm saying. Not her own family. >> No, no. We were here at the bar and I brought them and I put sunscreen on them and everything and I was watching them and then she came to me because my kid didn't want to like share toys with her kid or something like that and I'm like listen I brought enough I brought enough toys for them to play together you know and she's like oh okay then it's fine like whatever my kid will share you get me and I'm like okay and I was watching them the whole time I really don't know why I'm here. Like I I I I'm like flabbergasted right here. We were literally leaving right now. Like we were literally leaving right now. I don't understand. >> And she was really nice. She was like, "Okay, my my kid will play with your kids because my kid was um frustrated because her kid didn't want to like share or whatever. Whatever. They'reing five, you know." And I'm like, "Okay, whatever. Listen, just share with my kid whatever." I had a drink. I was paying attention to them. I looked every five seconds. They were fine. I don't know why I'm here. Like, I don't know why I'm here. >> Like, they were fine. I just tried to have a Sunday with my kids. >> No, we understand that. But with kids and stuff, you turn your your your second eye. I have a 5-year-old daughter. I >> I understand that. I understand that. I understand that completely. But I looked every second. I'm a single mom. Okay. Reason for me not to die. >> The other gentleman, husband, boyfriend, whatever he is. >> I don't know who he is. Wait, who? >> No. With you in your group? >> That's my brother. >> Your brother. Okay. Was he in charge of the kids or? >> No, no, no. We were all together. Me, him, my best friends. They came out of town for my birthday. We were all looking out for them. There's no reason for us not to look out for them. If the other lady was complaining that, hey, that's on her. I don't know. I brought toys for them. I brought water. You can check my I brought so I'm a good mom. I don't understand. >> Yeah, >> I don't understand. Maybe. Hey, for one that one second, maybe something happened. I don't know. But everything was under control. We were there. We were literally sat in that place to literally focus on them. Like, >> we didn't, you know, we don't even drink like that. >> Florida statute 827.03 03 defines neglect to include a caregivers's willful failure to provide the supervision necessary for the child's physical and mental health. A single incident can qualify when it results in or could reasonably be expected to result in serious injury or substantial risk of unaliving. A child allegedly drowning meets these standards. >> We didn't, you know, we don't even drink like that. We don't drink. Like, I don't know what's happening. I'm a great mom. Like, >> I mean, how far if she was in the water, how far away were you? Were you at the pool? >> We were at the park right here. I could see her all the time. Like, my best friend is her godmother. Like, she was like, "Oh, I was playing. I She would They would come to me every five minutes. I put water in his face so he caught sand in his eye and his eye like we were right there. I don't know what's happening right now. >> I'm not a bad parenting available. >> You can say anything about me, but I'm not a bad parent. >> But it wasn't like I wasn't paying attention. I literally picked that spot to pay attention to them. I brought blankets. I brought everything. You can check my back. All right. All right. All right. If it was one second, then it was one second and I will never regret that. But I understand where she's coming from as like a pedestrian or whatever. And I appreciate her for saving my daughter, but it was one. >> All right, let us work this all out. All right, have a seat here. Just sit down here. >> No, it's not okay because these are my kids, bro. I'm not a drug addict. I don't [ __ ] drink. I'm a I don't have a record. Iing do what I can for these kids. My baby that wouldn't help me. You know what I mean? I do what I can can. It was one second. If she [ __ ] complains about it, then bro, I thank her. >> She's not complaining about it. She's not complaining about it. She's just telling us who who was there for your daughter, you know. >> And I literally she could see me if there was cameras. I was setting them up. I put the blanket. I told them like, "Hey, I brought you toys. Just sit here. I'm right. >> All right. All right. You're getting worked up. Just sit down. Take a break. Yeah. Take a break. >> I'm not a >> Those cards. Those cards. >> I'm telling you, I'm not a I'm I'm not a bad mom. >> Yesterday. Okay. I goted up. But they were with their dad. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Today they're with me. I would never do that. I came to bring them to the beach. I'm noted up. I'm not. I would never do that. I brought them blankets. I went to the store. I bought theming toys. I I BROUGHT THEM DRINKS. I BOUGHT WATER. I BOUGHT SODA. I bought everything. I've been on their all day. >> I don't know why this lady is >> ma'am. Stand up for me. >> Bring you back. All right. >> What am I getting for? What am I getting? >> Child neglect. What? >> I look like my wife. >> I love my kids. What are you talking about? >> I understand you love your kids. Accidents happen. All right. If it wasn't for that bystander, we'll be doing a death investigation right now. Right. >> This way. >> It's my birthday and I came to take my kids to the beach. Like, it wasn't like it would have >> Watch your foot. >> You don't watching her, man. Sorry. I don't know what I'm watching. It's a cluster. >> I'm not a jail type of I graduated and I'm a good mother. Why am I in here? Why am I in here? Bro, >> relax. >> I'm in jail. >> Okay, but just relax. >> I don't know WHAT I DID, BRO. >> OKAY, but just relax. We're already sorting it out. >> Okay, but we're already sorting it out. Just relax. >> I didn't do anything with you. >> Relax. >> Mom's going to take them home. She's fine. Mom's going to be so mad.
