Stop. It's no reason for y'all to touch me. It's the curse is on though. It's on. It don't need y'all don't have to touch me. I don't want you to. Okay. I don't care. I don't care. I understand that. Okay. It don't care. I don't care. It don't have nothing to do with a little. It's not uncommon for suspects in arrest videos to demand a trip to hospital or an ambulance. I mean, ambulance. Ah, now they've got me saying it. But anyway, whether it's for a warm bed, a hot meal, a caregivers's attention, an alternative to jail, or something else entirely, here are three separate instances where suspects burden the American medical system in one way or another. Our first case takes us to Oak Park, Illinois, where a discharged patient described as agitated and uncooperative has refused to leave the hospital after her treatment had ended. Good evening, Got some lady that will leave. Yeah. Discharge patient. Okay. All right. Ma'am, it's time to go. You got to go. They're discharging you from the hospital. I'm talking to a nurse or a doctor. That's who I need to talk to. Okay. Security. They already gave you discharge papers. I'm not security. I'm the police. Okay. They want you to leave. And what? I'll leave in a few minutes when the medicine take effect. I can't I can barely move. The medicine take effect for what? What you mean? So I can move. What did they give you? Some medicine. Okay. What was she given? Um, so she move. You got ibuprofen. Move. I'm feeling a whole lot of pain. I came here in a wheelchair. I know what's going on with my body. Okay. I know how I feel. Well, you can go sit down in the lobby. I know I can go sit in that lobby. I can barely move. Okay. Like I said, I just need 15, 20 minutes to let the president take effect. They being rude trying to rush me up out of here. You said 15 20 minutes. That's all I need. Literally cuz they need to ask the doctor. They're They're saying it's time for you to go. You already got discharge papers here. Okay, I understand that. But like I said, I need a few minutes. Let the message take effect. Okay. Just being naturally just being honest. They they need you to go though. I understand that. And like I said, I need a message to take effect. I don't feel no alleviation from my pain. So, if you don't leave, I'm going to have to issue you a citation for trespass and you're going to have a court date that you're going to have to show up to. Okay, whatever. Like I said, now that she's not coming, that you can get dressed in. Like I said, I need to let him take effect. That's all I'm asking. I mean, at least 10 minutes. No. What you mean? No. No. No. No. It's No. No. No. No. I need to let them take effect. I can barely move. We go through this [ __ ] every time. to talk about. I'll issue you a citation for a trespass and then you're going to have to show up at the court date. If you don't go to the court date, you're going to get a morale for your arrest. Okay. Do we have her information? Can I get a face sheet for her? 2130. George, can I get a in custody time? This is going to be a sight release for trespass. She's refusing to leave the hospital. No, I needed to fill out my paperwork. [Applause] All right. So, because of uh the safety act, so it's class B misdemeanor. I'm going to write her a ticket and then I'm going to leave and then if she refuses to leave then we can come back and then we can take her into custody. But this is just the process we have to go through now. So, let me go fill out some paperwork. I'll be right back. Do you think she'll be packed and ready to go by the time the officer gets back? I guess we'll find out in a moment. [Applause] [Music] Just keep on. Okay. All right. I need your signature real quick. outside of nothing. Okay, then I'm going to document that you refused. You still have a court date and I'm going to I'll date you and your court date out. Refused. Have a good life. I'll be out in a few minutes. Refused. Okay. Your court date is going to be December 4th. I don't need your at 9:00 a.m. Room 110 for me. Yeah. Okay. This is your copy. You go having a nice night. We're going to put them right in here. Okay. I'm going to take this and I need you to place your money back under arrest. Oh, you're going to be under arrest before you're okay. [Music] All right. As soon as we touch her, she starts screams. So, right now, we're trying to keep her calm for you guys, but she might be all excited. Everything was in fine until we told her she said she those aren't the styles she wants to go. I'm doing it for a reason. What's your reason? Because I want to feel this $50 bills and stole all their items from the store as well. And then she was giving us a bunch of fake name. Just stop moving your wrist like that. You're going to end up giving yourself a cut on the wrist. Okay? Medics are here to take care of you medically, but I'm asking that you stop moving your wrist because you're going to end up causing yourself some pain. Okay? I understand you want to go with us. Okay. Just over here. We're not done with these two sisters just yet, but for now, let's head over to our last arrest. This young woman living in a state in some places rife with liquor stores and legalized dispensaries has opted to brave the ice and search out a high by stealing cans of pressurized air from an office depot. And believe it or not, she was arrested the prior day for shoplifting at a Target and naturally demanded a trip to the hospital. Let's listen in. Okay. Can you guys go in the cop car? Sure. Hold on. They I bet you they give us like she's intentionally going in there to steal and give us a burger. 100%. Maybe. No, she I mean I mean I know it is. Yeah. Letter of the law. It should be a burger. It's going to be like $5 worth of stuff. 25 bucks for those three cans. Yeah. And she's got no money on it. It's a combo. I'll uh I'll try to hit her with the yesterday stuff, too. I'm trying to hold up my end of the bargain here. Oh yeah, it's there should be even another element like she she's currently passing here Robick over here. Yeah, she's she doesn't I got you guys don't have cameras. I guess they had these locked up too with uh whatever device they have on it. She took the device or she had they have them locked up. Wait, how'd she get it open then? That you 100% got a burger. Yeah, I'll go. I got you. Yeah. Yeah. You have the right to remain silent. Do you understand? I don't want to be with my rights. I don't I have to. It is a literal law. I have to. Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Do you understand that? You can decide to exercise these rights at any time. Okay. You understand all that? Yeah. Listen, I don't mean to yell at you, okay? However, this whole No, no, no. This whole We'll get you some medical attention at the jail because you went to the hospital twice yesterday. You lost that opportunity to get No, you lost that. No. So, what does that teach you? That you can just huff every day and just go to the hospital? No, it's not okay. Please don't take me to jail. Let me ask you a question. Okay. Let me let me before before we get you some medical help, let me ask you a question. Okay. So when you walk into Target, you're like, you know that you're going to steal these things. So they went in there to go to the bathroom. Okay. And you just ended up stealing. Okay. Please don't take Just don't don't lie to me. You came here though because you knew you wanted to get some air. Please. Please don't take me to jail. Please take me to the hospital instead. We can get you some medical attention. I will stay at the hospital and I won't leave. The hospital will kick you out. They're not going to let you stay. Okay. Please. I I'm going to get you going cuz I know you want to go. I just need I have one more question for you. Okay. And just be honest with me. That's all I'm asking is honestly. Do you have any intention of paying for those things? Yes, I did. I was gonna call my parents to pay for them. I'm sorry. Be honest. You need to start to be honest. It is the truth. I was going to Do you have any money with you? No. You have no money with you? No. So, you went into an Office Depot with no money? Yes. And ripped open a package? Yes. And And did you hop in the store or you come outside? Came outside. So, you walked past the last point of the purchase and that Please don't take me to jail, sir. No. No. Please. Okay. Could you take me to the hospital? We'll get you some medical attention, but it's going to be at the jail. That's perfect. Yeah. Yeah. Officer, what's up, Mary? Is there anyone I can talk to? I don't want to go to jail. What they could do about Ibond? Maybe. I don't know. They might be able to release me. I don't know. Is there a way that I could talk to detectives or the FBI or something to report a crime? If you want to talk to detectives, yeah, you can come back after you're done here. You can come back to the police station. I can't talk to them while I'm in there. Not I mean, you're going to be at county. So, I mean, if you want to try talking with the deputies while you're there, I do. That's something you can you can ask them when they when you get there. Well, you just have to wait until you get processed. Okay. How long do fel people with felonies stay in jail? It all depends. You just have to talk to the doctor. I mean, everything is different for everybody. So, so I could potentially get released today, though. There's no way I could call my mom now. Not right now.
