Because I'm making sure I'm call. Listen. We have You're We're doing a police thing first. Bees and boy Elink Lincoln. You can complain later. Let's just do one thing. Call my lawyer now. Okay. Well, let's do one thing at a time right now. What's the address on your ID? It's not I don't even have a state ID. My state ID expired. The address that's on there is with you. So, you do have I had a ID expired because don't accuse me of anything. If he's going to send somebody the man behind you did the man behind you did. Okay. What's your I What's your the file number on your ID? What file number? What what number? Okay, listen. I'm going to I'm being very polite. You have two kids here. Okay. What file number? I don't care about my kids. These are my kids. So, what? Let me let me explain. This will be very important to you. Okay. When you're done with the phone, this is this is critical. You have to know this. Miss, I'm calling my lawyer. Okay. If you lie about who you are, that changes everything. I don't have to lie to you about anything. Okay? Because this name does not come back anywhere in the state of Illinois. I haven't been never been arrested before for anything. Doesn't matter. Your driver's license. I don't own a driver's license. I have a state ID. Same thing. It's Well, that's all I have. Okay. So, your state ID, just tell somebody to send a picture of my ID. Perfect. Can you look and see? Do you see my ID up there? My ID should be on the dresser or in that I think it's in that movie trying to tease me or say I walked I never walked out your store. She concealed a bunch of stuff underneath the baby's blankets got to the towers. Okay. sure that she lo she she walked past the last point of sale. And then when I when when she was stopped here, pushed the card over here, started grabbing things past the line or in the baby blanket. The registers end here. So, and then when I said, "Hey, you're not free to go." She tried walking past me. I grabbed her and slap my hand. He said I slapped his hand. So, run the camera back on your thing and show that I slapped your hand. You grabbed my hand and I said, "Excuse me, my daughter is crying in my wrist." So, don't you have cameras on, don't you? Very minimum. Exactly. So, show your cameras. Why is he in here? Very minimum. You're under arrest for battering a police officer. I smacked his hand. Don't Don't he have no cameras, right? Yeah, we all have cameras. Exactly. So, run the camera. So, if you slap his hand, you're under arrest for battering. I slapped his hand. He did just like this. Don't put Don't put Don't just like this. He said I said my baby. I didn't touch it. That's not touching. That's not what he said. And I still don't know who you are. So, what we're going to do [Music] pick up the kids. That' be even better. I'm trying to keep the artistic kid home. Who's coming to get your kids? And who? Nobody. We're going to the police station. Okay. Well, they can come, too. Okay. Well, then we have to transport them separately. They're not They can't come with you. They can come, too. Okay. Well, she's bringing the kids to the police station, so we'll need to see down here with car seats and everything. See if someone can bring a car down. Yeah. Yeah, let's just start working on all that. How old are the kids? So, we we're got one car seat we already run the camera. Oh, that one can hook in without any face and then a booster for that. [Music] 31. Fast sale. Correct. She said the front of her cart was just touching that silver. We have cameras. My car never even got off the carpet. Stop yelling. I don't have to stop doing anything cuz my car never went anywhere. He said there was someone in front of you. So, how do you Listen, I'm not dealing the game here. Okay. I don't Okay, y'all ready? Is y'all ready? We're We're We're going to work on getting some your kids situated. Hey, look. Okay. Now, let me have your purse. I don't have to give you anything. Yeah. You're under arrest, so I'm searching your purse. Well, you have to give it to me. Let me get my key. Look, I'm not going to get into it with you with your one of your kids. But I'm taking your purse. You're not taking anything? Yes, I am. My kids in my purse and everything is going with the It's going to go with you, but I'm searching around anything. It will come with you, but I got How far How far you is right here? You see my location? [Music] 10 minutes. Hey, come on. Come on. Okay. You got to calm down. Okay. You have someone come pick up the kids. Ain't this what you just asked me? But you never gave me a clear answer. Okay. Hurry up. On your case, please. You want this way? You will. We'll You'll get a copy. We'll have a booking photo for you later. How old's this one? Miss Bell, how is it? How old is your child here? I don't know. You just said somebody come pick them up, right? Somebody Listen, why this? You're making so much more complicated. Yeah, we have to see our female officer come in here. I don't like I don't know. He said it was a grill in front of me. So that's what he should have stopped the grill. Don't say I walked back out. I didn't even get up off your property. I didn't take your Look, I'm giving you a lot of leeway cuz you have two little kids here. Okay. Otherwise, you'd be in handcuffs going to the station by now. Said, "Okay, well, they can come too then cuz you just said somebody to come get them. So, do you want them to come or not?" But you're not communicating very well with me. You're very argumentative and I don't appreciate that. Her GPS says she's 12 minutes away. You didn't tell me that. I said I said it out loud. So, just say you're not listening. Okay. I'm not listening. What What does that have to do with me? Okay. So, you Who's coming to get her? Look who's coming. Calm down. Okay. Miss, look. You got to go to the store when you leave here. Okay. You got to come day off. Okay. Who's coming to get them? But someone is coming to get them a cop. Why does that matter? Because I have to put in a police report who your kids left with. That's why they're not leaving with a stranger. I can't I can't release them to a stranger, can I? Well, that's okay. It's a random person could just walk. Why Why are you making it so Why are you doing this? I've been a policeman almost 25 years. I'm not in the mood for this lying about your name. Oh, I'm not in the mood for it. Okay. So, just be honest. I'm in like I don't know the store. I'm in a You're a Target. It's the first I mean not the first I'm at the door like I guess when you first pull in the parking lot they'll find us. They'll see all the squat cars. So it's like the That's before tax. That's tax. 4058. [Applause] If it wasn't for the two kids, I'd be doing this completely different. Oh, I know. Okay. I I would have already she went from baby section started selecting things putting in the card pad the side and then she went to the chip area put all the baby blankets over everything and start to walk up. Okay. So, retail theft, resisting arrest, battery the police. And probably obstructing ID. Okay. Can I ask you an important question, Miss? For over a minute, the suspect would speak on her phone and ignore the officer's questions. Okay. We stand in the front. I mean, in the room, pardon me. Are you talking on the phone or you talking to me? I'm talking on the phone. Trying to find Let's take a break from the phone cuz I have to ask you some Listen, let's take a break from the phone cuz I have to ask you some I want to know who you are. I told you who I am. Okay, that is not a real name. Oh my god. I told you. Have you ever been arrested before? Whatever they have that over me, miss. Have you been arrested before? No. Never. Cuz we're going to fingerprint you today. Oh, well do what you have to do. Okay. All right. Put your purse down. I'm not putting anything down. This you just said Mike. Let them go. I'm coming to get my kids. Okay. When kids how long what's So we down to like what? 8 minutes now. Agent look. Okay. Come when you're at the park. So we're clear. Whoever's coming is going to come here. The kids are going to You're not leaving this room. The kids will go to the to them. Make sure that they're aware of that. That's common sense. You don't have to say anything to me. You said get somebody to get my kids. I'll call somebody. So, there's nothing else to talk about. Thank you. Okay. Are they Did they say they were arriving here? She said her GPS said she was 6 minutes away. I can't I'm not in the car, so I can't I don't know. Okay. What? Look, just stand in front of me. Okay. You got to bring it to a two. Okay. Two. So it's important for us to know I don't have anything to I don't have to listen to anything you say this is important for your kids not anything my kids are communicate with you so do I need to release them to a stranger if that's what you're telling me give them to a stranger cuz I can find somebody random walk what I'm saying is I want you have to say anything you keep talking I want to document where your kids are going Why does that matter? You're going to have to put in a police two little kids. They're leaving out of your sight. You said call somebody to come get them. I did that. What more is that to say? Nothing else. I would like to know who they're going with. Oh my god. Okay. If you don't want to tell me, then don't. I don't have to. I said leave me alone. Like what more do you want me to say? So you know you're I don't need to talk to Diana. Don't even Don't even Don't even talk to her right now. Just let's Once we get the kids situated, do what you have to do. We'll go on to everything else. See, I'm trying to find a reasonable way to work this out that's best for your children, but I can't do that when I don't know who you are. What's best for my children? Ain't nothing best for my children. You said call somebody to come get them. I did that. So, what what do you want me to do? Call find a stranger? Well, I can't find a stranger. If it wasn't for the resisting everything else, maybe I could I didn't resist anything. He should have Maybe I could have just written you I could have just written you a ticket. I don't care what you could have been on your way. I don't care. I don't care. But it matters for your kids. It don't matter. What else? They're leaving. You said get somebody to come get him. Okay. Okay. I'm just trying to make this easier. You're not making anything easier. You're not You're not participating either. If I hit him, he would have been picking himself up off the floor if I hit him. You're not very You're not participating very well. You have you have to identify yourself. I don't have to do anything. You say you're taking me to identify yourself again. Do what you have to do. What What do you want me to do? Just tell me who you are. I told you I am. Well, I don't believe you. Oh, well, because it doesn't come back in your in your with your state ID. Well, I know what's on my state ID cuz I went and got it. So, and where is your state ID? Did someone send you a picture like you asked? Remember you were I was listening to that. You were going to have someone send you a picture of it. [Music] So, wait till the kids go. I think the six minutes have elapsed. Okay, I said that. So, let's take a photo cuz I'm ready to go, too. Okay. What did she say? It say bring it. I I'm not in the car. So, what do you want me to say? Why I can't see your phone? [Music] There there will be the point where like if no one ever shows up, we just have to grab her. I mean it, you know, I'm going to look in your purse. You don't have to look in my purse. Yes, cuz I don't want you to have any weapons in there. You're working up your kid right now. There's no weapon. What do you want? A watch. I'll take the ID. There's no ID. That's the ID. It's not my ID. Well, I'll take it. It's not yours. You don't need to take anything weapon. Is it a weapon in here? No. I don't I'm not giving you anything. You have a weapon. I don't care. I don't have a weapon. I don't carry weapons. I don't have a gun. I don't have anything on me. So, if you're trying to shoot me in front of my kids, please let me know. It doesn't work. Let me The whole game doesn't work. Let me record this. Okay. Excuse me. You get a weapon. There's no weapon. You're bumping into your your children. Where's the weapon? There's There's a weapon. Where's the weapon? Let me record it. Let me make sure I record it. You're upsetting your children. Do you understand that? Well, officer. Officer. Officer. They're saying they're looking for a weapon inside of my purse. You're upsetting your children. I want to see your ID. Here's another wallet. A bit of chip. Here's a charger. How about the ID that you're going to show me? Charger. Here's an Apple Watch. I have no weapons on me. What about your identification? My daughter don't have no weapons. You don't have to have any weapons on us. He's trying to snatch my purse. He's looking for a weapon. You are under my arrest. You see a curse? It's no weapon. Where is your identification? No weapons. We have no weapons. Desperate in this situation. We have no knives, no mace, no anything up on us. I don't have nothing in my purse. It's all on video. Nothing on me. So he said he grabbed my purse and he looking for a weapon. I can search your purse and send you to arrest. Doesn't matter. We're going to search it anyway. And you're upsetting your children. And I don't understand why you would do that. It's inevitable that we're going to identify you. It's inevitable. I don't care. I would like to have your ID, please. I have ID. I I saw it in there. You just said you was looking for a gun. Give me a weapon. I saw your record. Go ahead. You're under arrest. We're recording this. Looking for a weapon. And there's no weapons in my car. There is no weapons. We have no weapons on us. Don't go back. Go back to the phone. How long before your friend gets here? [Music] cuz I'm telling you right now, if your friend doesn't show up, it's going to be a DCFS situation. So, you understand that? [Music] Can you calm your child down? It's probably the most important thing right now. [Music] Another [Music] full minute elapses of the suspect speaking benal nothing nothings into the phone while her upset child cries out in fear and confusion. [Music] I think they're here. She's she's going to go to Lumber Police Department now. If she's going anywhere else, we'll let her call you. Okay. Obviously, your children know who this person is. Clearly, if she's autistic, how much she know who she's going with? That don't even make sense. You want her coming in? Whatever is easiest for the kids. Come grab them. That's what I just said. Can I give her to her so she can You were not leaving without the door. It's okay. [Music] What? purse. So why don't you grab it on my arm? Let me go. I'm giving her purse. So let me go.
