about. Are >> you going to kidnap me? You going to kidn me? Get out of the jail. Get out of the car. You're going to jail. You're going to jail. Get out of the car. >> Oh. Oh, no. >> Out of the car. >> Oh, hold on. >> When did you have your um license taken? What state was it out of? >> There's >> the last license that you had. >> If you try to get me back there, I'll >> Any questions? >> That VIN number's been removed from all the DMV registries. >> Okay. So, you're waying up, dude. Being a cop requires a lot of patience, but some suspects just push things too far. Especially society's radicals. From homeless Karens to angry wannabe political debaters. Here's what happens when the cops have had enough of entitled sovereign citizens. >> I And I'd love to try and speak with you more. I I think I think we're just >> I can't address you as a person. I think we address you as a female man, as an actual who I am because of course paper. >> On December 22nd, 2024, a fish and wildlife officer was on patrol in a state forest in Florida when she encountered a van parked on a closed road. There was a man sitting outside it with a dog off its leash, so she went over to speak to him. >> How's it going? Good. I'm Officer Bower for Fish and Wildlife. How many more people are inside the van? your wife and >> and [music] baby. Okay. Hey, the reason I'm coming to talk to y'all is you guys can't pull down here with this vehicle. Did you know that? >> No. >> Okay. Did you see the road closed sign when you drove down here? >> Okay. Um, no, they're they're not. This is a closed road. There was a sign before the road that you came in on. >> [clears throat] >> Yes, sir. >> The officer asked the man for ID, but it was in the van, and she couldn't let him go in there for safety reasons. He eventually revealed that his first name was David, but refused to give his last name, arguing he could just grab his ID from the van. >> What's your last name, David? >> Okay. >> Are you going to give me your name? >> What's your last name? >> Okay. No. Go ahead and stand up. Put your baby down. Put your baby down >> on the floor. >> Anywhere. Put her in that in that basket right there. >> I need to hold my dog cuz you're afraid of my dog. >> I'm going to place you in handcuffs until I can figure out who you are. So, put your baby down in that in that carrier right there. >> 4314. I'm 51. Make sure you get 4313. He's much closer. or continue to raise them. >> All right, turn around. Place your hands behind your back. >> Turn around and place your hands behind your back. >> Yeah, there is. Go ahead and step with me. Will you call your dog? >> Come here. I said I would get you my >> I told you I was asking you for your name. >> I believe my name is >> All right. Have a seat right here. Is there anything on you? Is there anything on your person? >> I have a >> Do you have a weapon? >> You have what? >> Do you have any weapons on you? >> 4313. David was led over to the officer's car where she asked him why he wouldn't tell her his last name and he answered he'd rather just give her his ID because she was going to want to see it anyway. His behavior was certainly puzzling and the officer struggled to make sense of it. >> I'm going to have a seat in my car. >> Quite a big deal. >> What's your date of birth? >> My date of birth. >> Do you not know your date of birth? Do you have to think about it? >> I wasn't conscious when I was born. Anything is hearsay. >> Okay. So, you don't want to give me your date of birth. >> I'm happy to give you my ID right in there. >> You're making quite a big deal about me wanting to give you the my government ID. I didn't say I wouldn't give you anything. I'd happy to give you my ID. Okay. The officer then went and knocked on the van and a woman opened the door who later identified herself as Josie. Fortunately, Josie seemed much more reasonable and even apologized for David's behavior. >> Is there any reason why he's not wanting to give me his name and date of birth? Does he have any warrants? >> No. No. Okay. Will there be any reason why he's failing to identify himself? >> Just on principle. I think just >> what do you what do you mean? >> Just I think like the principle of you know like not aggression principle I think like of just [music] we're out here peacefully kind of trying not to cause any issue to anyone. And so I think coming up and being questioned I think maybe >> okay kind of just affront something in that. >> Did you do you know why I'm down here? >> I don't know. >> Okay. I'm down here cuz you guys are have drove your vehicle into a closed road and this this is you can't have your vehicle down here. That's why I was trying to identify him. Gosh. >> So, I told him there was a violation and now he's questioning me as to why I'm asking him for identification. >> Does that make sense to you? >> Well, I mean, we're happy. We didn't know we were violated anything. I'm happy to move. I mean, and I I can understand why this has caused like some kind of issue. I hope that we can get this resolved peacefully because that's all we >> I I've tried to and I want to. Yes, [laughter] >> I'm sure that you do. I mean, I'm sure you're a reasonable person. I mean, obviously, >> I it was just it was >> I can understand I I I didn't hear much of what was happening, but I can hear his tone. And like I said, sometimes he just kind of >> can be a little >> argumentative. Okay. It's just something in him. I think that is just >> okay. >> He's like I say, he's peaceful. He's not violent. He's not dangerous. He just has these strong principles of kind of, >> you know, personal freedom and that kind of thing. >> Okay. Since the officer still didn't have all of David's details to properly identify him, she asked Josie where his ID was, and Josie said it was in the front of the van. Josie promised to keep her hands visible while she grabbed it and handed it over. >> Are you Mrs. Lopez? Miss Lopez? Are you related to him? >> Okay. What is What is your name? >> Am I retired? >> I only ask because I I I really I don't feel like I've also really We're happy to move. I'm sorry that we broke the rule that we didn't know, but >> okay, hang tight for me. >> The male officer arrived on scene and tried talking to David, but the ladder maintained all he'd done was try to get his ID, and it was the first officer who was being difficult and saying she didn't want it. The male officer then attempted to explain the situation to him. >> Okay. Well, she didn't want to go in the van for uh officer safety reasons. Um, so you still have to identify yourself. I >> I understand that, but she don't want you going in your vehicle, so she wanted you to give your dang day birth. What was that? What was the problem with that? >> I just would rather be very official and give her the government issued document. >> Okay. >> What did he say? What did you say? >> You say you'd rather be official and give you the government >> issue. Okay. Okay. Well, that's not what she asked. Whether you want to or not, she asked your name and birth. You have to comply. Okay. If not, that is it's obstruction inference from law enforcement investigation. Do you understand? >> I told her I was happy to give her >> I understand. But she didn't want you go in the van for officer safety [music] reasons. She doesn't know who you are. She doesn't want you going through the vehicle. Okay. All right. So, you know, there's obviously there's a violation. There's a reason why we're here. It's posted up there. That's a real close sign. Whether you know that or not, that's beyond the point. By law, David was required to ID himself when asked, but he argued he also had the right to remain silent. The officers informed him he could go to jail for failing to ID himself, and he argued he hadn't failed because he'd been trying to get his ID. They were going around in circles, so the female officer went back to Josie. >> Why was your dog off leash when we got here? >> Oh, just there was no one around and she wasn't going anywhere. And >> Okay. >> So, that is [music] a violation. Okay. >> And now I do need your ID. >> Okay. I that that does get a little bit tricky and I I can understand that because I gave up my citizenship. I actually don't have one >> and so I don't have an ID to show you because I haven't had one for several years. >> And that's fine. >> So I I don't have citizenship. >> Okay. What's your What's your first name? >> Jates. >> Yeah. I was born in Michigan. >> And my children were both born. >> Okay. What's your first name? >> How do you spell [music] it? >> J O. What's your middle initial? >> I don't have >> Okay. What's your last name? >> What was the name that you were given with when you >> I'm not really official. >> Okay. So, now you have a violation. Okay. So, you are required to give me your first and last name and your date of birth. >> I I gave you the name that I have as my legal name. I I gave up my citizenship. That's not who I am anymore. >> Josie claimed she'd also given up her social security number as part of renouncing her citizenship and that she was now stateless. It was becoming clear that they were a couple of sovereign citizens. >> Um I don't what you're saying you provided it. We need a first name, middle, >> right? David David provided a state issued ID. >> Okay. Okay. And I'm asking for yours. >> Um and >> Okay. And and and I understand and I'm I'm trying to be very clear and very nice. Okay. I understand you have a family. Okay. Do you have any family here? >> I don't. >> Okay. >> We're just passing through. >> Okay. That's fine. And I want you to continue to pass through, but we need your identification. name and date of birth is acceptable. Okay. So, what is your first name? >> Joseph. I >> I'm making this very very clear to you. Okay. This this will get drug and and I'm tell Hold on. Hold on. You You listen to me. You listen to me. Okay. I'm trying to be very nice. You have your children here. Okay. We all have families. We need your first name, your middle, your last, and your date [music] of birth. Okay? I'm trying to make this very clear. Okay? This will continue as long as you want it to. Okay. >> I provided you with all the information. >> What is your middle name? >> What is your last name? >> Doesn't work like that. >> What is your date of birth? >> That is not how this works. >> So, you want to go to jail, have your kids turned over to Department of Children and Families and everything because you will not provide a name. Josie then tried claiming she was an indigenous person because she was native to the land, having been born there, and the officers were violating her rights by asking for her ID. But when officers explained to her that's not how the law works and that she could go to jail for it, she told them it was not her will to be arrested. >> Your actions are saying otherwise because you're failing to identify yourself. Do you see how do you see how your actions and your words are contradicting? I can't identify myself because I gave up all my forms of identification. I [music] turned them all in. I gave them all back when I rescended my >> Okay, let's do this. What was your What was your name when you were born? What was the name you were given? That was not redacted at that time. What was the name you were given when you were born? >> I'm not comfortable sharing. >> Okay, so you are required by law to share that information. >> Share it with a party who was qualified, but I don't >> Do you not think that we're the qualified party? >> Okay. All right. Well, you're going to be placed under arrest. Can I have a pair of handcuffs? We're going to temp the teen for obstruction and failure to him. >> After more back and forth, it seemed like the officers were finally getting through to Josie about the need to give them her date of birth and birth name so they wouldn't have to take her to jail. But then she backtracked into more nonsense. >> I rescended my citizenship based on a sincere spiritual conviction. And that's incredibly important to me. And >> okay, >> and and if if that's not allowed in the United States, >> so for example, like how did you rent this van? Is it your van? Do you own the van? >> I can't speak on this van. >> Okay, it's your van. Okay. Okay. I don't You're talking about a bunch of stuff that isn't pertinent to what we're talking about. Okay. If you feel that you were sended something, >> so be so be it. Okay. We're just trying to let you know when you're in violation of the law, we have to address the person. Okay. Not not just >> We gave you a person. We're happy to have you slap a citation on that person. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. I And I'd love to try and speak with you more. I I think I think we're just >> I can't address you as a person. I can only address you as a female man, as an actual who I am because a person is a piece of paper. It's a legal creation. >> Okay. >> So, I can't address you in that way. The the piece of paper that I gave you, that name, that's the person. That's who you can address in that way. >> Okay. >> But I'm just talking to you as a flesh and entity in front of me >> because I do respect you. Because I do and I and I don't want anything negative against you. I at all. >> After going around in circles more, it seemed Josie and the officers finally reached an understanding when she was given a citation and she signed it. But there was the added complication of needing to move the van, which they couldn't let her do when she didn't have a driver's license. >> Hey, I just want to let you know you are going to jail for obstruction and failure to give provide your name to [music] a law enforcement officer. She's got some questions about the van. I'm going to let you speak with her. So, uh, I don't think you can get out. I'm not sure. >> You're not allowed to get out. Sit tight. >> Um, so I'm Is it okay if I take the phone? >> Um, uh, they said that if we call the van company that they should have roadside assistance that they could maybe come out and drive us to a place where we can be parked. >> David was cited for two criminal infractions, one for the dog being off its leash and one for use of a closed road. He was also charged with misdemeanor and resisting or interfering with a wildlife officer. He bonded [music] out, but his $110 citations were still due, leading to a warrant for his arrest. On April 14th, 2024, an officer in De Moine, Washington observed a driver speeding and attempted a traffic stop. The driver ignored his lights for a staggering eight blocks before finally pulling over. But the games were only just beginning. >> Hi there, my name's Officer Hake. Just to let you know, the traffic stops being recorded. [snorts] The reason why I'm stopping you is for speed. 48 and a 35. Not only that, I really strongly believe you're just not paying attention because >> I'm sorry. My I'm sorry. My father my father's in the VA right now and and I just >> Well, we went about eight blocks with my lights on and you never even pulled over. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm listening to this. I'm so sorry. Why didn't you make a sound? I'm not >> Because you weren't stopping. That's the reason why. >> Oh, well, I didn't hear. >> We went eight blocks. >> I didn't see any lights. I I I didn't >> It just means you're not paying attention. Do you have your license, registration, and proof of insurance for me, please? >> I'm getting my lawyer. One second. >> I don't need to speak with your lawyer. Can I see your license, registration, and proof of insurance, please? >> What crime did I committed? >> Speeding. Can I get your license, registration, and proof of insurance, please? Ma'am, I can't hear you with this window halfway rolled up. >> Crime of speeding actually become a crime? >> It's an infraction. It becomes a crime when you don't provide your license, registration, and proof of insurance. Ma'am, >> despite the officer's explanation, the driver continued to argue and ignore the request for her documentation. She insisted on phoning her lawyer, even though the officer told her he didn't need to speak with her lawyer at that moment. >> I'm Ma'am, are you providing me with your license, registration, and proof of insurance? [snorts] Ma'am, >> um, >> are you going to provide me with your license, registration, and proof of insurance? >> Can you guys get Dean or Janine on? >> No, ma'am. >> Step on out of the car. You're under arrest. >> No, I'm not. >> Step on out of the car. >> Step on out of the car. >> Do it now. >> Do it now or I'll break this window. >> Step on out of the car. The driver allegedly got her lawyer on the phone and put it on speaker, but the voice on the other end seemed to have a strange understanding of the law. She advised the driver she didn't have to provide the documentation the officer was asking for. >> Ma'am, I've provided you multiple requests for your license, registration, and insurance. >> Okay, step on out of the car. Do it now. >> She does. I do not have to >> I will break this window. I have to show that. >> You're kidding. >> Step on out of the car. >> With treason if you break my window. >> Step on out of the car. >> This is so illegal. I would not do that. >> You can contest that in court, ma'am. >> You're under arrest for obstruction at this point. >> It won't make it to court. >> Yes, it is. >> No, it won't make it to court. >> It won't make it to court. Guys, I I I I assure you you don't want to do this. I'm I'm with the federal postal courts, okay? I am serving the judicial notice and global constitution to the world. And this is not correct. This is not what >> you're being recorded, ma'am. Everything's being recorded. All your statements are being recorded. >> Okay. You have an option to step on out of the car. The driver then demanded to see the officer supervisor and insisted they would wait for the supervisor to get there before taking any further action because clearly she and her quote unquote lawyer knew the law better than the officer did. >> You don't want to break my window, sir. >> I will here in a second if you don't get out of the car. >> If your supervisor gets here, he will let you know you cannot break my window. >> Oh, I doubt that. >> You're being recorded and you can face. >> Yes, you are being recorded. >> Everything's being recorded. Yes, we we know. >> Yeah, >> we know. >> We know. We know. We highly know this. >> 6 David 1 ETA >> operating necromancy and trying to put me in jail. >> Well, you are going to jail. >> You're under arrest at this point, ma'am. >> I'm a free I'm a free woman. I'm not a cop. I'm not a corporation. You can't contract with me. I am a free woman. A blood flesh breathing woman. I don't >> Okay, I'm not disputing that. But you are under arrest. >> Your supervisor will tell you different, sir. I will wait for the supervisor. >> The driver then demanded the officer's badge numbers as advised by her lawyer and they assured her it would all be on the report. After a few more moments of arguing, the officer sergeant arrived on the scene. >> All right, she's refusing. She's under arrest for obstruction at this point. She refused to provide identification, registration, proof of insurance. >> Woman, I'm not a corporation. >> Okay, so I'm going to tell you this right now. You're going to get out of the car. We're going to pull you out of the car by force. >> He just said he just said I'm He's going to pull me out of the car. >> A living woman. And this is treason, sir. >> Nope. >> It's a traffic stop under revised code of Washington, Title 46. I got one. >> Are you going to step out of the vehicle or are you going to be taken out by force? >> I I haven't done anything. >> You are under arrest for failure to provide ID. Are you going to step out? >> I Well, the speeding is >> Are you going to step out? You can give me a warning, >> sir. Can you please don't? Please don't. Okay. Okay. Okay. >> It seemed like the driver had finally gotten the message and chose him to cooperate. But then she still wouldn't open the car door, and the officer's patience finally ran out. >> Step out of the car. Do it now. >> Step out of YOUR OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. Oh my god. STOP. OKAY. OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. STOP IT. Stop it. >> David one in custody. >> And we'll take a break. >> Oh my god. My eyes. Oh my god. 9 David 8 start us at toe for impound >> I NEED >> I NEED AN ambulance >> my heart hurts >> the driver went on to complain she couldn't breathe so the officers called an ambulance they tried to help her while they waited for the EMS to arrive but she wasn't making it easy with her continued >> hysterics We're going to >> chest. >> They're on the way. >> She hasn't provided nothing. She refused. >> Do you have a knife to poke a hole? >> I got it. That's >> my Please. Perfect. I was looking for >> Please help me. >> Give me some water. >> Give you some water. >> Please. >> Oh my god. >> I can't breathe. >> Look up. >> Look up. >> Open your eyes. Open your eyes. >> Your eyes. >> Open your eyes so we can get in there and rinse out your eyes. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Stop. >> Stop moving so we can rinse out your eyes. As the driver continued to roll around on the ground, the officers discussed the case. On top of the initial speeding she'd been stopped for and the extra charges she'd earned so far, she was also looking at a seat belt violation as they'd observed her sitting on it. Finally, the ambulance arrived. >> My face hurts so bad, guys. Hi. >> Okay. So, don't move too much. >> Oh my god. >> Name >> with an L. >> Birthday again. >> I know. >> These guys are here to help. Okay. >> Unfortunately, >> the only thing that's going to help is time. >> Please. The only thing that's going to help is time. We can we can help a little bit. We can wipe you down. But >> what are we doing here? Do you want to be on your side? Do you want to be >> My face hurts so bad. >> I know. Oh [ __ ] I can't believe this happened. This happened. Please. Please don't. I >> stop grabbing me. >> I hurt so bad. Oh, my ears, my face, my eyes, >> my chest. [snorts] >> We understand. >> I can't breathe. Please. >> Here we go. >> That's about as good as it's going to get. Just just stay down. >> Just stay down there. >> The EMTs finished checking the driver and the officers took pictures of her injuries so she couldn't claim she got them while being taken into their custody. The reality of the situation finally seemed to hit her and she switched to making requests. Um, can I please have my my brother come and grab my father's car cuz my >> vehicle my father no >> please. My just my father just >> So we're going to the vehicle. Can I give you a non-compliance with very >> I can't get my father's car out right now. Please. I can't get my father's car out right this second because it's go cuz we just died and my brother in a weird place can I have my brother come and >> so no we're not we're not going to do any of that. The reason that is because you turned what was a very simple traffic stop into this entire thing you didn't need to do when you literally just needed to hand ID. >> Do you have insurance on the car? >> Yeah, I I think I'm I'm sure she might have car. So it's very simple like speeding ticket no vowel with ID. Okay. You turn it into an arrest for resisting obstructing. >> I was just I was just asking is also going to be added on. >> I was just asking question. >> So we're not we're not going to favor calling somebody else in your car. >> Telling us that it's treason is not asking questions. >> The driver was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing justice [music] as well as various traffic violations. On August 11th, 2023, officers were dispatched to investigate a 911 call in which a woman was reportedly locked in her bedroom while a man later identified as Tyler yelled at her in the background. When officers arrived at the residence, it was Tyler who opened the door. What's >> going on, Tyler? >> You want to step on and talk? Figure out what's going on. Well, we got a call for a possible dismember going on here between you and the girlfriend. So, get away from me. Go to the room or go for a walk or something. I'm packing my I'm getting ready to leave. >> Like moving out, leaving? >> Yeah. Like, I'm leaving. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. You both live here. You don't mind talking to my lieutenant. That way I can talk to the female, do you? >> Yeah. >> Tyler went and sat on a nearby bench while the first officer went inside to look for the woman who'd made the 911 call. A second officer attempted to question Tyler, who was quick to go on the defensive. Police department >> going on. It's none of your business. >> Well, it is because she called 91. It is our business. She called 911 screaming and crying in the phone. So, that makes it our business. >> Okay. >> So, what's going on? >> I got her from brought her down. She was going through domestic violence case up there. And I I see why. I see why. I see why she's doing this to men. She's going around doing this to men. I don't I'm trying to move out. >> Okay. She's got something wrong with she's a head case before she came. You can ask my neighbors quiet. I was didn't drink. Didn't do nothing. She comes along and I'm losing my mind. Dude, >> I wanted her to leave. I'm packing my getting ready to go. Where? >> Hold on. >> Money. I don't use money. So, you guys can't do anything to me. >> I need you to stay out here. >> I'm a living, breathing man of the land, and I don't I'm denouncing money. I'm done with money. No, I'm not doing No, I'm not doing this. >> I need you to have a game with you guys. I'm not >> It's not a game. >> It is a game. No, it's a financial game for you guys. It's all about banks. >> It's all about banks. >> No, it isn't. >> Tyler went on to argue that having to register his car when he'd already paid taxes and carried a stateisssued ID were purely for money. He might have just claimed his girlfriend was problematic, but clearly he had issues of his own. >> Money? Everything's about money with you guys. >> No, it has nothing to do with me. Now, I'm done. I'm done with this. >> Well, you talk about your ID. Where's that at? You want to do this the hard way or what? I mean, we're trying to be cool and you're like flying off the handle for no reason. >> Do you have the ID on you or no? >> Okay. It seemed like the officer had finally gotten through to Tyler when he handed over his ID as asked. But the angry tirade was far from over and he went back to ranting in the blink of an eye. >> I'm a human being. I have a name. >> I asked you, but you didn't want to talk to me. >> Okay. >> Come on, man. >> We're not going to do anything. You're the one doing all this. If you're a human being, then why don't you talk to me like one? >> Tyler, if you're >> I don't want to talk to anybody, man. I want her out of my house. >> I want her out of my house. >> Okay, >> that's all I want. I want her out of my house. Then let us figure out a conversation. I was supposed to be at work this morning. You know what I'm doing now? >> Then let usation and I'm going to the woods, bro. >> Then let us figure out how to help you make that happen. >> Go to war with China and you're standing here talking to me about a DV. We just sent 1500 troops to the order, bro. >> Okay. Can Can I do anything about that? >> The mean. >> Can I do anything about that right here, right now? No. >> Can you do anything about that? >> Yeah, I'm doing it. I'm denouncing the money. I'm done with it. It's fraud. >> The officer tried to get the conversation back on track by asking Tyler how long his girlfriend had been with him. He claimed it had been 3 months and she'd been very negative throughout that time. He then gave the officer a glimpse of his relationship with his girlfriend. >> I can't even see my kid, dude. She's 7 years old. I can't even see her. >> Sorry to hear that. >> Fightful baby mother that doesn't see my kid. I couldn't even wish her a happy birthday. >> I don't want to be around anybody. I don't want to have any more kids. cuz I don't want to be none of these [ __ ] >> Yeah, >> nine's okay. >> But we're going to jail though, so you guys can get the money. >> I don't make money off people going to jail. >> I'm not out here, dude. I skate. I'm a peaceful person. She's disturbing my peace. Women do that. You know what women do to men? >> It can happen yourself. >> It can happen. There's no >> There's no doubt about that. over and it ends up getting back together and no, I'm done. >> Yeah. >> Mom, get her down here. Her mom's not even involved in her life. Her whole family's not involved in her life. >> Yeah. >> One person from her family come down here. My dad coming out here made me twice. >> I don't I'm not involved in my family. It's just me and her. >> Can't take on all your issues. >> I can't take on any problems. Like I just said, I can't dude. I got my own. >> She just I'm not even eating. I bust my every day at work. I'm not even eating. Barely paying my bills. I pay over $1,000 a month to stay here. >> Tyler seemed to be calming down. So, the officer tried to keep him that way by getting him to talk about whether he had any help with the issues he was describing. It seemed to be working when Tyler's focus switched to going to church and talking to his pastor. >> He said, "I don't know what's going on. I'm trying to get your side and just figure out what's going on. And I appreciate the fact that you've come down from way up here when I first got here to now you're just talking to me manto man, which I appreciate. I thank you for doing that. I can tell you're struggling, man. And if there was something I could do to help, I would. It sounds like you got a pretty decent relationship with your pastor, though. >> Is that some I mean, >> no, >> I mean, it's it's not bad. >> Not not >> Yeah. I don't have Bible study with them. not the way only get to talk to him when you go to church or >> Meanwhile, the officer's partner spoke with Tyler's girlfriend inside the apartment. And given Tyler's behavior so far, it probably came as a little surprise that she painted a completely different picture than the one he described. >> We're out here sitting on the couch. He's like, "Get away from me." I'm like, "I don't know what I'm doing. like you're yelling about you're saying that I'm weird in because I'm sitting in the room cuz I don't know where else to go. I I would go in that room but he was in there too was going in and out of there grabbing all his gear [snorts] and then he's over me yelling at me. I have my foot up. He's spitting in my face and like Tyler leave me alone and wiping the spit off my face. Tyler, leave me alone. He won't leave me alone. So I kicked him like I went like that and he went like that and he took the table and he was like pushed me back and then he turned around and he pushed the tape or punched the >> punch the TV and I was like you did that. He was like I did that because of you. And I went no you came around and you pushed that like or or punched it and he said yeah yeah I did what? And I was like Tyler you're insane. So I walked away. It came in here. >> The girlfriend went on to describe a harrowing experience in which Tyler had gotten her in a chokeold and threatened to kick [music] her neck. She described struggling to breathe and shooting pains down her neck until he let her go long enough for her to run into the bedroom and call 911. Officers then went back out to arrest Tyler. >> [groaning] >> calm down. >> Stop. >> Get back over on the stomach. >> You get on YOUR STOMACH. >> GOD DAMN IT. [screaming] >> SEND US ADDITIONAL. WILL YOU go get the wrap out of the BACK OF MY CAR? You got to get here on you. Get the cobble. Make somebody act like cops. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. >> Get back over on this. Come on. >> In the box. >> What? >> Come in the box. Come on, little guy. Once the officers had Tyler secured in the back of their squad car, they took him to jail where he was charged with resisting domestic violence and assault. On July 10th, 2025, an officer on traffic duty witnessed a driver ignore a stop sign. But what should have been a routine traffic stop quickly descended into chaos. >> Hello there. Good morning. My name's Officer Diana with the M Beach Police Department. Just like to let you know that this traffic stop is being audio video recorded. Okay. Um the reason for the stop is just because of your incomplete stop during the stop sign at Ocean and Pine. Okay. You just kind of stop right in the middle of the intersection after you've already passed the stop sign and the stop bar. You stopped in the middle of the intersection and then you proceeded to go. Okay. You have a driver's license on you? >> I don't. You don't have your driver's license. Do you have a driver's license? >> Yes. >> Yes. Is it valid? It is valid. >> Are you the registered owner of the vehicle? I'm sorry. >> Okay. Any reason why it wouldn't be? >> Ma'am, you got to speak up. I can't hear you very well. Because I don't think it's necessary to travel in my car. >> You don't think you need a driver's license to drive your car? >> What does that mean? Who's the registered owner of this vehicle? Do you have the registration for your vehicle? I don't need to see the registration for your vehicle. Why do you think that I don't need to see it? >> Because what you're doing is illegal. I am traveling in my >> You ran a stop sign. >> I didn't run a stop sign >> in the middle of the intersection after you've already ran the stop sign. >> Next, the officer asked the driver for insurance, but she couldn't produce that either. So, the officer explained she was required by law to carry her driver's license and proof of insurance. The driver tried to turn things around by asking the officer for her identification and demanding again to know what she'd done wrong. >> I'm sorry. >> Why are you pulling? >> I am pulling you over. >> Allow me to answer your question for the fourth time. The reason for your stop today is because you ran a stop sign and now I'm initiating a traffic stop based off of that moving violation. >> And I'm telling you that I am a real person who has real bonds and legs. Right? >> I'm not a corporation. I'm not the person my identification. >> Okay. But in the state of Florida, you have to have a valid driver's license. >> Yes, I am. I am. >> Do you realize that what you're doing right now is harassment? >> No. What I'm doing right now is a legal traffic stop based off of a violation that I observed. >> It was certainly puzzling why the driver wouldn't just show her license if she had a valid one like she claimed. >> But when the officer asked her about it, it became clear the driver was completely delusional. >> I think you are very misinformed about the laws in the state of Florida. I'm not. Trust me, I'm not. >> There has been no harm done. >> You ran a stop sign. >> Hasn't been hurt. >> You ran a stop sign. >> Has any Has any property been taken? >> No. >> So, you are harassing me. >> Okay. You ran a stop sign, which is a moving violation in the state of Florida. >> You have no proof of insurance. You don't want to give me any of your paperwork. >> I don't need any of that. >> You do need that. You have to You have to provide that documentation. Driving is not a right. It is a privilege. >> No, driving actually is a privilege. It is not a right, ma'am. >> It It's not. It said on the driver's license that you say you were issued. It says on your driver's license that driving is not a right, ma'am. >> Okay. [snorts] >> Okay. So, what I'm going to ask you to do is step out of the car. >> Why? >> Because I'm asking you to step out of the car. It's a lawful order because you are not cooperating with my traffic stop. >> Backup soon arrived. The first officer gave her partner a quick rundown of what had gone on and how she was now asking the driver to step out because she's refusing to cooperate. Then it was time to give the driver a reality check. >> Step out. >> She doesn't want to provide any information. >> Step out. >> Are you going to kidnap me? >> [ __ ] kid. >> Get out of the jail. Get out of the car. You're going to jail. You're going to jail. Get out of the car. >> Oh. Oh no. >> Out of the car. >> Oh, hold on. >> Get out of the car. >> Help. [screaming] >> Get out of the car. >> Get on your ground. GET ON THE GROUND. >> STOP RESISTING. [screaming] >> Stop resisting. Are you kidding? >> Oh my god. >> Give me your hands. >> Oh my god. Oh, you're hurting me. >> Well, stop resisting. Stop. >> I got I got to get up. IT'S HOT. IT'S HOT. >> WELL, [screaming] then stop resisting. We'll get you off the car. How about that? >> Good. >> We'll have white people. 10 15. >> We're going to get you up in a second. >> [screaming] >> Glad you got out of the car like she asked you to. >> Hold on. I'M TRYING TO LOCK YOU. >> GET UP ON YOUR KNEES. >> My glasses. I can't see without my glasses. >> We'll get them for you in a minute. Stand up. I thought about that before you resist it. >> Stand up. Get up. >> I can't. >> Stand up. >> I can't. >> Why can't you? >> Cuz I'm very weak. >> Okay. >> One leg at a time. Okay. >> Oh god. >> I can't. >> Come on. Stand up. >> I can't. It's burning me. Stand up. >> Step up. >> One, two, three. >> With the driver back on her feet, the officers were able to walk her over to their squad car and search her for any weapons or drugs. But just as it was beginning to look like she was calming down, the antic started again. >> Help. >> Okay, my feet are burning. Can I have my shoes? >> You'll have your shoes in a second. >> I don't care. >> Listen, next time an officer orders you out of the vehicle, you're required to get out. Do you understand? I don't really have the right to get. >> Yeah, we do. >> I I'm the corporal. I'm the supervisor. Case law says Pennsylvania for Sims. >> All right. Have a seat. >> Now you got a resistance. >> I don't have a resistance. >> Yep. You didn't get out of the car. >> With the driver secured, the officers were able to search her vehicle and look her up in the system. Aside from finding a surprising amount of cash in her purse and a gold bar, they found she did indeed have a valid driver's license. But unfortunately, the rest of her paperwork had expired. >> You got resisting, uh, which is 10:15 for, but you have the stop sign, which is PC, and you got, uh, no proof of insurance, no proof of registration. I I'll start at 1070. Yeah, you're good, man. You're good. >> No, no, I'm saying I just told her if you want to do it, she might be 29K. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. So, just double check it. >> Oh, who might be? >> No, I already told her. I already >> Oh, you already. >> Hey, are you going to go on station helper? >> I have to go pick up. >> Is she doing her physical transport? >> I don't know what she >> Oh, yeah. She's going to take her on station. I'm going to start the 1070. Go pick up John. Actually, can you go help her get her in, get in the cell, and then go pick up John? Just let John know. >> With the officers clear on the driver's offenses, they took her to the station where she would be detained while they filled in all the paperwork. It seemed the reality check had finally sunk in as she finally decided to cooperate. >> You can step out. You can grab your slippers here and then I need a signature from you because I had some cash on you. Um, which one? You can take the box. You took $1,000.81 out of your wallet. So, um, all of this is in here and it's going to be transported to the jail with you. And the bar of gold. >> The bar of gold has also been accounted for. It's going to go with you as well. Okay. Um, I will need your signature right here. Um, just so you acknowledge that we did take that from you. Okay. The brown bag, um, I had some things in there that wasn't able to be taken to the jail, like your cigarette. You had an adult toy in there. Um, so we're not able to transport that. So, >> yeah, my whole wallet. My whole purse. >> Your blue, your blue wallet is in here. The brown purse is going to be kept here at the office. So, when you're released, you'll be able to come here and pick it up. >> Thanks to her antics, she'd earned herself the extra charge of resisting an officer without violence on top of the traffic offenses. On September 23rd, 2023, officers were dispatched to investigate a complaint of a couple camping in a public square. They arrived on scene to find a homeless man wandering around with his dog and a woman later identified as Adriana Soraniano lying in a sleeping bag. >> What are y'all doing over here? We're just laying down for a little bit. >> You got to find somewhere else to do that. You can't do that in the public square. >> You have your ID on you by any chance? >> Mine got stolen. >> Okay. You ever been to the Salvation Army? >> Been there. I was there for three months. Then he come leave for a month. I come back. Then I got my dog. He won't let me there. >> The man went on to claim he'd stayed in a hotel for a couple of days, but it had cost him almost $300. And with nowhere else to go, he decided to camp. The officer was sympathetic to his plight, but unfortunately that didn't change the law. He then went to talk to Adriana. >> Hey. Hey. Hey, it's Officer Johnson, Savannah Police Department. >> Mhm. >> Hey, how you doing? You know, you can't sleep out here, right? >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah. You got to find somewhere else that you got to you got to go to. >> Mhm. >> You have your uh license on you? >> Uh, no. I'm not allowed to have ID. >> You're not allowed to have ID. Why not? >> Arizona was being judged by um dirty cops in Arizona and I'm not allowed to have ID. >> Not Not driver's license. You can have ID though. >> No, I can't. The cops here were dumb enough to let people beat me up, do dumb things to me, but apparently I'm not allowed to fight that. And yeah, it's like apparently I can be and I can be beaten up and I can have all kinds of stuff done to me that cops don't let women fight back. >> When did you have your um license taken? What state was it out of? >> Arizona. last license that you have. >> And if you try to get me back there, I'll Any questions? >> If Adriana had truly been mistreated by cops in the past, it was easy to see why she hadn't taken kindly to being woken up by one, but that still didn't excuse her bad attitude. She grabbed her bicycle and prepared to leave. >> Ma'am, you're not free to go. >> I'm just letting you know. Don't square up with me. >> Sit down. Are you screwing up on me, >> ma'am? Have I moved? >> I'm telling you, you're not free to go. >> You know what? You want to like I'm not going to be put in jail again because of like you want to arrest me. You want to take me down? Oh, dude. All right. I'm Don't do I don't do anything wrong. If you want to put me 22 to 26. She's walking. >> Despite being asked to stop, Adriana continued to cycle away. The officers were left with no choice but to chase her down the street. [music] But when they caught up with her, her behavior took a surprising new turn. >> Hey, you stop right now. Get off the bike right now. >> Why? >> Get off of the [music] bike right now. >> I told you you're not free to leave, ma'am. >> Get off of the bike right now. >> Get off of the bike right now. He's not hurting you. Get off the bike. >> Yes, he is. Yes, he is. >> Don't take my dog. >> Relax. >> Why? >> Why? >> Get off the bike. >> Help me. Somebody help me. Somebody help me. Somebody help me. >> Somebody help me. Somebody help me. >> SOMEBODY HELP ME. HELP. >> WALK WITH ME. OKAY. >> NO. NO. [screaming] HELP. >> NO. >> Go for 22. >> Somebody help me. >> SOMEBODY HELP ME. SOMEBODY help me. >> Help. [screaming] >> Help. Help. >> Help. Adriana continued screaming for help as the officers led her over to their vehicle. They did their best to calm her, but she got herself increasingly worked up and acted like she was being arrested just for sleeping. >> What is you work with you? You're keeping me against my will. HELP ME. Help me. Help me >> pieces of like Johnson. Help. [screaming] Help. Help. >> Let me lock your handcuffs real quick. >> Let me go. You pieces of [ __ ] I do not agree with this. I do not agree with this. This is what you do. Pieces of >> Ma'am, you're the one who made it like this. I told you. >> No, I did not. >> You did. >> I just wanted to go. >> You did. >> I just wanted to go. >> What did I tell you? >> I'm free. >> I said you're not free to go. Stop. Don't square up towards me now, please. Last thing I want to do is fight you. Okay. That's the last. >> Piece of Why are you using force? >> I'm not using force. You're trying to turn towards me and you need to face this vehicle. >> Piece of >> Okay. >> You're a piece of >> Despite the continued verbal abuse from Adriana, the officers remained calm and professional while they looked her up on the system while continuing to treat her with respect. Backup arrived on scene moments later and Adriana shifted gears again. >> Ma'am, I just got here. What's going on today? >> I know you. >> Yes, ma'am. >> So, what's going on today? >> Um, we were sleeping. >> Okay. >> Okay. And then >> Yeah, they told me Yeah, they got aggressive and like started to to threaten I don't know what to do. >> So, so you were sleeping on the cod over here um with I guess this gentleman over here. Um is this your cart with your dog? >> Okay. Is your dog aggressive or is he friendly? >> Please don't take him. >> No, no, no. I'm just saying I just want to move your bike out of the road so he doesn't get hit by a car. That's it. >> She calmed down again and confirmed her dog wasn't aggressive and was okay to be moved back over to the male suspect. It looked like the new officer was making progress with her, but she still had plenty of attitude to go around. >> No, I don't want to be arrested and taken to jail and starved to death. >> Okay. Well, they they do have food there, so I'm pretty sure you won't be starving. >> No, they don't have food. I have gallbladder problems. >> You have gallbladder problems? >> Okay. Well, I'm going to go take make sure your dog's okay real fast and we'll back talk to you in a sec. Okay. >> I'll talk to him. I'm not talking to either one of you. I talk and bring him back over. >> You said I talk and bring him back over to this other gentleman over here. >> I'm not sprained my legs for anyone. >> Okay. >> Back over here. >> Separate your legs. Come back. >> Could you separate your legs? >> No, I will not. Are you going to have me in front of the car cam? >> Ma'am, we're all wearing cameras right here. >> She then accused the officers of being able to turn their cameras on and off whenever they wanted. So the lead officer tried to make her feel more comfortable by setting his camera down. Unfortunately, that wasn't good enough for her. >> You do not have permission to take me anywhere. >> You do not have permission to >> That's not on you right now. Okay. >> You have permission to take me [music] anywhere. You are dirty bastards doing this to a woman. >> Okay. >> Why? >> Oh, you like filling my good. Really >> good. >> Do you have anything on you? >> So, this is why you arrest people, >> ma'am. Do you have anything else on you? >> You don't have You don't have dirty people to arrest. >> We're going to go back here. >> Right up in there. >> This is what you have to do with your child. Grow up and get a conscience. >> Grow up and get a conscience. >> Madam Madam, go and sit down for me. Okay. I will not do anything against my will. >> I've been I've been talking to you just having >> and I have absolute disgust for you. >> Okay. I mean, I'll just talk to you over here. Um, if you can just figure out everything in a second. >> Nope. >> I'm a free sovereign. This is bull. >> Okay. Go and take a seat from here. >> She didn't have to say she was a sovereign as it was pretty obvious already. She refused to sit in the back of the car, leaving officers no choice but to physically push her down into the seat. Unsurprisingly, she then went back to shouting accusations, including violent assault and kidnapping. >> I walked away. I said I didn't feel safe. You were fully armed. You were putting your hands on me. You're a criminal piece of You're a criminal piece of You know what? You don't get to put your hands on a beautiful woman. You No, you don't. >> I never did. >> Yep. You did. I'm being arrested for being homeless. Cop put his hands on me. Cop put his hands on me. You Johnson, you picked the wrong one. >> Come on, step out. >> Nope. I am not paying attention to any of your orders because this is false arrest. Yeah, your mom would be proud. >> Yeah. This piece of put his hands on me and decided to arrest me in the square where I was sleeping. We were told by other police officers we were allowed to do that during the daytime. >> If Adriana had just cooperated and gave the cops her ID, she and her male friend would probably have just been asked to move somewhere else. But thanks to her bad attitude, she was charged with three counts of obstruction. On July 3rd, 2025, an officer witnessed a woman driving with no headlights on and a registration sticker that expired almost a year ago. The officer performed a traffic stop, but she was quick to turn it into something far from routine. >> Good evening. >> Good evening. >> Do you have your driver's license and insurance on you? >> Oh my god. >> No. I was just going to the store for my mother. I just picked her up from the hospital. >> Okay. Is this a company car? Do you normally drive this car? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. So, two things. One, you're driving without any headlights. And the >> plates are going to drive. >> Oh, man. They >> I know. They said something to me and they I was supposed to put the the sticker on and I'm so sorry. >> Okay. Wait, you don't have your driver's license on you right now? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. What is Can I get your name and date of birth? >> I I don't Why would you need that? Can't I just get a warning or >> I need to know who you are in order to give you a warning, but you also are required to identify yourself on a traffic stop. >> Well, I don't choose to answer any questions, though. The officer explained to the driver, later identified as Jennifer, that if she chose to identify herself, she could be given just a warning and be on her way. But if she didn't cooperate, they would be going down the obstruction route. But Jennifer had other ideas. >> I wouldn't be obstructing because I'm not in commerce. I'm not in commerce. I didn't I have nobody in my vehicle in in this transportation. Again, you can choose to identify yourself or because you are refusing to your to identify yourself on a lawful stop. I will be ident detaining you until I identify you and then we will go from there. >> That you're asking me to perform in commerce. That's a violation of the constitution. I have the free right of travel. That I do know. I don't normally I wouldn't be out at my mom. >> I understand that. which is why I would really love to just give you a warning because you don't have any headlights on your vehicle. >> Well, I have headlights. I just didn't have them on. >> Correct. >> Despite the officer's compassion around Jennifer's circumstances and her explanation of why the latter couldn't be driving around with her headlights on, Jennifer continued with her driving versus travel argument that sovereign citizens love to bring up in every traffic stop. I'm taking care of my private business from point A to point >> in the state of Illinois. You need to have a driver's license. >> I'm in the Republic of Illinois. >> You're in the state of Illinois. >> The state is a state of mind. What is your name? What's your name in your badge number? >> Officer, do you have a business card? >> I don't have a business card with my name on it. But my >> Well, you're conducting business though. You're out conducting business. >> My name is Sergeant Lions. My badge number is seven. The reason why I don't have a business card with my name on it is because I have not received one yet as I was recently promoted. >> Okay. Well, this is still in commerce. So, you would have your old business card, correct? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you have your oath in your bond? >> 23 here. You have a call back >> actually started working out in the public >> because this is >> I took I took my I took my oath of office. Yes. >> Okay. confirm. I think they relocate to asymc train >> that's not been held up >> of the state of of the United States and the state of Illinois. >> Okay. You've taken an oath to serve and protect against foreign and domestic and this at this point you're acting as domestic. Domestic enemy. I have the free right of travel. The officer explained again that no one has the right to drive a vehicle on a public roadway without a license. But shockingly, she then accused the officer of aiding and abetting her into committing fraud. >> How am I aiding? >> Because you're asking for the corporation window. >> I'm asking for your name. >> I've already expatriated. I'm not part of the corporation. I have a document filed in 40 states right now because of this. >> Do you have any? >> This would be retaliation. No, I don't. >> I'm not forcing you to do anything. >> I'm not forcing you in commerce, though. >> You are. You're forcing me to identify and I don't have to do that. >> You do have to do that. >> No, I don't even have to answer questions. >> She freely admitted she didn't have a license or any other form of identification. So the officer asked her to step out of the vehicle. A second officer arrived on the scene to help. So she decided to give them her details before she was pulled out, allowing the first officer to look her up on the system. >> Jennifer, are you still living in Wheeling? >> Yep. 1747. >> Okay. So your license was suspended in May. >> What? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So what does that mean? So, that means you can't drive the car. >> Okay. So, I'll park it. >> Uh, you can't drive the car. You are under arrest for driving on a suspended license. >> The officer continued to treat her with kindness and even offered to drive her to her mom's once they were done at the station. But just like earlier, Jennifer couldn't recognize a good offer, even if it was staring her in the face. >> Yeah, >> you would be charging me for >> All right, come out of the car. >> You would be charging me. Please don't. Please don't. >> Please get out of the car. Please don't. You have been told you're under arrest. Give me Can you give me just a moment? Can you give me just a moment underrest? Can you give me just a moment? You have told you can you give me just a moment to get out of Can you give me just a moment so I can call my mother? Can you give me just a moment? Can you please give me just a moment? >> Can you call her from out here? >> Can you give me just a moment? >> If you get out of the car, I will let you just a moment. >> If you let If you get out of the car, give me just a moment. >> If you get out of the car, I will let you just >> Can you please do that? >> Thank you. Thank you. Just need it off. Just need it off. Okay. >> If you get out of the car, I'll let you call your mother. >> Power lock. >> No power locks. [snorts] >> I don't see. >> Go ahead and get out of the car. >> Can you give me just a moment? >> You can call your mom when you step out. >> I'm calling her right now. >> When you step out of the car. When you step out of the car. >> Please don't damage my Don't damage my property. >> I'm not trying. >> Don't damage my property. >> Just get out of the car. >> I'm not going to damage your property. Just get out of the car. >> I I >> get out of the car. >> You're forcing me. >> You're making us. >> Get your hands off me. >> Put your hands behind your head. >> Get your hands off me. I do not consent. I cannot under arrest. >> I will put that in my my I'm calling my mom. She said if I got out, she would allow me to call my >> to pull you out. I'll let you call her in a second. >> She was determined to keep on making things difficult. And even in cuffs, it seemed she was still under the impression she was the one calling the shots. >> Please don't do that. Don't Don't tighten. >> I'm locking them so they don't get any more tight. >> Do you want this with you or in the car? >> Put it You can put it back in my pocket. >> Well, it's coming out of your pocket when I get to the jail anyway. So, do you want this to come with you or left in the car? >> Please. It's a simple question. >> You're not being released until you're done being processed. I guess it's coming with Do you need anything from the car? A wallet? >> I don't have anything. No, >> nothing from the car. You just need your cell phone. >> My keys? I just had them. >> Keys to the house. >> Are there keys to your house on there? >> And the phone. >> Okay. >> All right. Come with me. >> Okay. Have a seat. Nice and easy. One leg at a time. Can't you just take my name and let me go? >> Unfortunately, no, I cannot. >> Jennifer's vehicle was towed and she was transported to the police department where she was charged with resisting an officer, driving while license suspended, improper lighting for head or tail lights, driving with expired license plates, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. On November 29th, 2024, a man was observed driving a vehicle with no visible license plate. The officer on duty performed a traffic stop and proceeded to approach him to talk to him about it. >> What am I being detained for? >> Uh, you're being stopped. You don't have a tag on your vehicle. >> You have a tag? >> Yeah. >> I don't give a >> Do you have a driver's license on you? >> No. >> You have no driver's license? >> I'm a US citizen. >> No US citizen? >> No, I'm not. >> Oh, man. Why not? I don't want to be a goddamn corporation. >> Oh, man. >> Bash number. >> All right. Yeah, man. 214. You got You have no driver's license now. >> I got no legal ID at all. >> Okay. Well, hey, calm down. Calm down. All right. This ain't the end of the day. >> Despite the man's bad attitude, the officer remained friendly and asked him to get back in the car. But he was more keen on filming the traffic stop on his phone. He also seemed to think that being detained meant he was under arrest. >> Detainment is an arrest. >> Stop. Stop. >> What am I being detained for? >> You have no tag on your vehicle. >> I don't have a tag. I ain't required to have a tag. >> Yes, you are. If you're on the roadway, you >> I am not. No, I'm not. >> I'm not required to have a tag. >> Just go ahead and see me, supervisor. I've got something being difficult. >> All right. >> I'm not required to have a tag. >> Yes. Yes, you are. >> No, I'm not. >> All right. What's your name then? You can call me all you want. That's fine. >> All right. I go by the name of Garrett Shannon. >> Garrett Shannon. All right, sir. >> What's your date of birth? Garrett Shannon? >> I don't know. I'm way past the age of majority. >> Way past. You don't know your date of birth? Nothing? >> No, I don't. >> All right. >> I did not I cannot remember witnessing my birth. >> You can't Okay. You don't know when you were born, though? >> I have no idea. >> The man, Garrett Shannon, then claimed the traffic stop was unconstitutional. So the officer tried telling him they had plenty of policies in place that said otherwise, but the arrogant sovereign citizen was having none of it. >> Policy is a corporate edict. >> Okay. >> I'm not a statutory citizen. >> Okay. >> I've formed you multiple times. I'm a nonresident alien. >> So you're saying you're a sovereign citizen. Is that what you're saying? >> No, sir. No, sir. >> Okay. >> That's oxymora. >> Okay. All right. >> All right. Alien. >> All right. Well, Mr. Shann, >> I'm a state citizen. Mr. Shen, stop. Stop. You're You're blowing this all up out of proportion right now. All right. That's all I'm saying. All right. You're You're getting upset. You make yourself angry. You're doing all that right now. You understand? >> Strangely, he claimed he didn't understand what the officer was saying and that the officer trying to identify him was an infringement on his rights. He was getting himself more worked up. So, the officer tried to calm him down again. >> Now, now tell me, why else are you upset right now? Cuz obviously this is nothing. been stopped for no reason. >> You have no tag. >> No constitutional reason. What crime have I committed >> right now? You're driving a vehicle. I don't know who >> I am not driving. I driving. Go ahead. >> I'm traveling. >> All right. Well, you're traveling. Stop. Stop. Right now. >> I have the right to resist. >> No, you do not. >> Yes, I do. >> All right. >> Stop. >> I'll wait till your supervisor gets here. >> That's fine. He might have given the officer his name, but without a date of birth, the officer couldn't be certain who he was, even if he checked the system. Garrett maintained he didn't know when he was born because he didn't witness his birth. But there was even more nonsense to come. >> You have, you say you have no tag on your vehicle. You have no idea when your date of birth is. >> That vehicle is no longer owned by the state. The state has no interest in that vehicle. Okay. That VIN number has been removed from all the DMV registries. >> Okay. >> So, you're way up, dude. >> Oh, I'm Hey, that's not nice to use that kind of language. I haven't used that language with you. >> I can use whatever language I want. I didn't say I didn't say I said I wouldn't talk to you in a dimminative way. I just said you wereing up. >> Okay. Explain to me how I'm effing up. >> That vehicle had the state has no interest in. It is not collateral for the national debt anymore. Could you please turn the light down towards the ground? >> No. >> No. Cuz I I Well, keep putting your hand through your pocket. I got to see you. It's getting dark out. Sorry, that's not happening. >> Eventually, the backup the officer had requested arrived on scene. When it was made clear to the second officer that Garrett wasn't cooperating, they decided to arrest him. >> Let's go ahead and just put him in handcuffs and figure out who he is then. >> All right, sir. >> Stop. Stop. >> Don't do that. >> Stop. Stop. >> Hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Stop. >> All right. Very good, Mr. Shannon. All right. This This is not how we want to start the day. >> All right. Or our day anyways. >> All right. Mr. Sam, can you stop fencing up for me? >> I still don't know why. >> Stop. Come on. I'm under lawful. >> I can't confirm who you are right now and you have no tag on your vehicle. That's why we stopped you. All right. We're trying to be very lenient with you and talk to you like a adult. All right. And you're being >> unclench your hands, Mr. >> All right. If you had listened to us, we could have this could have been >> could have been much better. All right. As the officers began to lead him over to their vehicle, he claimed he didn't know why he was being taken away and asked why he couldn't just stay by his vehicle with one of them. Since he was already handcuffed, the officers agreed. >> You got any weapons or anything on you or any weapons in here? >> Yes, sir. >> Do you have weapons on you? >> Yes, I do. >> Okay. What kind of weapons do you have on you, Sam? >> I am not giving you consent to search, but I do have a weapon. What would be considered a weapon on me for the legal system? More officers arrived and the first officer went through what had happened again. Then the time came to lead Garrett over to their squad car, ready to be taken to jail. But before he got in the car, he asked if he could call his friend to pick up his vehicle. >> Hey, can you pick my Ranger up for me? I'm right in front of Don's house. >> Pick it up? >> Yes, sir. >> What's mean pick it up? I guess I'm uh going down to the uh the state motel for a while. >> Unfortunately, I shouldn't have to take him to jail, but he didn't want to cooperate with us. He could have simply just told us his name, date of birth. Hey, get a tag. All right, it's a warning. Have a nice day. But we couldn't do that today. >> Oh, wow. >> Yeah, it's unfortunate. >> Stop reaching. >> I think they're still in the ignition. >> Okay. All right. If they're still in the vehicle, if not, what happened here? Another deputy be waiting by with his vehicle. >> You want to tell my own? >> All right. Thank you, sir. >> All right. >> All right. Bye. >> Garrett was charged with resisting without violence, but it seemed he hadn't learned from the incident as he chose not to turn up for his arraignment. [music] He'd made things worse for himself a second time and spent 102 days in jail as a result. Sovereign citizens are probably the most stubborn lawbreakers, and it's no surprise why officers don't have patience for their nonsense.
