On February 26, 2025, an officer with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office observed a 54 year old male named Jefferson exiting the water on the side of the road. The officer made contact to conduct a resource inspection. Two little ones just got out. Is there any cooler inside the truck? No bags, no cooler, no other fish, right? Bring it down. No, no problem. They'll run your record and they'll tell you exactly what you need to do. Okay? But you have to go if you forever reason you can't show up being a criminal citation. Make sure you call this number. Things happen. Death from the family or something. Make sure you call the everybody's real reasonable. We understand you're coming out of the way for man. Okay. And I sign right here really quick. It's not a give me one second. Administrator is possession of three undersized crawfish. Okay. Not spear, not rung, not over the limit. One charge, right? Hold on to that. And now it could be the court charges off the bat is $300. So, whatever the charge, if he if he runs them and five years ago he had another fish case, he might give him a $1,000 fine. We don't know. Uh there's fish school that they also sign like when you get a a ticket and you go to Qualita. There's fish school in Miami. Little simple as that. Okay. All right. Good luck. In the end, Jefferson was charged with possession of undersized crawfish, a secondderee misdemeanor. On March 17th, 2025, he was adjudicated guilty and sentenced to six months of probation, during which he is not allowed to fish or dive in Monroe County. He was also required to take a Florida Fish and Wildlife course and ordered to pay a total of $383 in cost and fees. 11 days later, he filed a petition for early termination of probation.
