Give me your hand. Give me your hand. >> He's coming out THE ROOF. GET DOWN NOW. LET ME SEE YOU. CALM DOWN. I DO NOT WANT TO TASE YOU OUT OF THE ROOM. >> AND then he's like, "You're such a [ __ ] You're a You're a [ __ ] You spread your for anyone. All it takes is for you to have a few drinks and you anyone." At first, it just seemed like another call. But then a deeper story unfolded. When the little details didn't add up, the officers knew something was off. And the more they dug, the more uncomfortable things got. When cops find out sick family secrets that lead to disturbing discovery. >> Stand up because I want you to stand up. >> Stand up. Put your hands behind your back. On April 26th, 2025, police officers were dispatched to a residence following a frantic call about a one-year-old child. When officers arrived on the scene, they interrupted an intense family dispute, leaving them scrambling to get to [music] the bottom of things. >> Tell me what happened. >> I don't know. She just called me and told me to come here and I GOT HERE AND MY DAUGHTER'S FACE. SHE WON'T TELL me what the happened. >> I'm getting irritated. I keep the door. >> She's locking us out. She won't let us one person at a time >> out of nowhere. She She didn't even tell her what was going on. She called her and the baby was crying. She called her. She didn't call her call her. She called >> and the baby was crying. So she like I'm caught up. What's going on? Like what's going on? >> The baby is telling us. >> So what? What happened? >> We called her to check on her. We call her check on the baby and we hear Lelay in the back screaming crying. We're like, "What's going on? What's going on?" She's not telling us nothing. So, we're like, "Okay, we're on our way." We get here, she's not opening the door. We She finally opened the door. Her husband or whatever he is got a hammer. Like, what do you have a hammer for? We're just trying to check on the baby. They walk and bring in the house. They won't let us in there. We see the baby's face is burnt. We're like, "What happened? What happened?" They [music] kicked me out. >> You're talking about this residence right here? >> Yes. According to one of the women, she had errands to run. So, she left her baby daughter with her aunt. However, when she came to pick up her child, she was shocked to see her suffering from burns. When she asked her aunt to explain what happened, they were chased off the property by her aunt's partner. To get to the bottom of things, the officer spoke to the woman's [music] aunt and partner. She actually watch her three day watch make a drug trip or whatever run her name you can run mine. I've been watching kids for a whole lot of years. >> So how how did the baby get the injuries? >> I was giving her a bath right my shower. >> Let me show you. >> You got some clothes in here? >> Yeah. Perfect. Thank you. >> Appreciate it. >> I was at work. >> I was at work. out of nowhere. >> You know what I mean? I was at work. >> She said she she was giving her baby a bath and I even asked what happened. She said the water changed though and it got hot. So snatched the the baby out the out the uh the bathtub cuz we don't have a we just have a shower. >> So like I said, I was at work. The aunt backed up her partner's story, saying that she had given the baby a warm bath. But when she turned on the shower head to wash the child's hair, the water came out scaldled and hot, burning the child in the process. >> In order for her to get a bath, you have to run the shower. >> Okay. Run the shower with the filter. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So I wash her up and everything, you know, then get ready to wash her hair >> and she had to do her face and she start screaming and these things start coming out and the water was like really really I'll be honest, your story isn't quite making sense to me because if that was the case, you would a immediately turn the water off and there's no way the burns would get that bad or You left the baby. You left the baby unattended. >> No, I didn't. No. I never did that. I never did that. >> Because to have that severity of a vern that's that's absolutely >> Can you come up here? >> Uh, no. I'm not going to go up there. >> Although she claims she never left the baby unattended for even a moment. The officers weren't buying it. They believe she turned on the tap then left the room only to return when the baby began screaming from the scalding hot water. >> When did this injury happen? like about Wednesday >> Wednesday and now >> you didn't you didn't call for help for that baby. >> Well, that's I I did. >> That's a problem. >> But I was trying to call her, >> but it didn't happen until Saturday. >> It didn't happen till yesterday. >> Yes. >> What What didn't happen yesterday? The injuries you didn't show until yesterday? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, the bath happened on Wednesday, but then you saw this kid start to >> We We got to figure out a timeline of events. Okay. >> We're concerned about how the baby got injuries. What day did the injury happen to the baby? >> Yesterday. >> Yesterday. By what time? >> About maybe around about 2 cuz I even called >> 2 p.m. >> I called my cousin. You can call her now. >> I didn't know what to do. My first response was >> You should have been called 911 >> when I didn't think it was that severe. >> Okay. Well, >> you know, >> the officers were right. she could have contacted emergency services immediately. She claimed that she tried to contact the baby's family but couldn't get through to anyone. Unfortunately for her, that wasn't an excuse for neglect. >> Now that she waited that that's to me that that's a bigger issue than >> but still had time. I've been trying to contact her contact. I even had my son call her. I had my cousin call her. I had my cousin's daughter call it and never no answer. >> It looks like >> never even the baby's got severe like bro. I have never put my hands on my daughter. I have never done nothing. Bro, I'm so mad. >> I'll call [clears throat] it. If y'all seen your kid like this, show it if you mad. >> Like mad as >> my daughter ain't got clothes on or nothing. Like bro, >> I'm so much to >> my daughter can't even put a shirt on her face and back. >> Like bro, >> you also got some burns on his back. >> She >> She's trying to tell me it was from a bath. >> A bath? My daughter turns the water on by herself >> and the water will be hot. She has never burnt her [ __ ] self like this. >> That's not This is not >> Who is watching him? >> She the girl can. >> Apparently, the woman's aunt tried to call everyone except the police and the child's mother. The officers arranged for an ambulance to transport the child to the hospital as her aunt should have done the day before. >> I'm trying to put everything together. So, is that your guys's niece? >> That's her niece. >> That's her niece. All right. All right. All right. >> And she been trying to call her ever since that incident happened. >> I get home from work. I I step into it, too. >> So, I asked her, she said, "The water change >> cuz we don't have the you know how you fill the tub up. >> We don't have that. We just have a shower." >> Okay. >> And she was supposed to give her a bath >> and washing her hair. So when she adjusted the temperature on it, >> I guess it must have went more hot. Okay. When she started doing what she was doing, she came over. She finally came over, but she didn't answer that phone. >> Okay. >> When her I kept calling. >> So is there I guess a reason why you guys never took the baby to the hospital or >> I wasn't here. >> Okay. >> I was at work. >> All right. >> I'm just We're just trying to figure out We're just trying to piece everything together. That's all. But I I don't even know happiness. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. >> So all I know is when they came to get her daughter, whatever >> cuz she kept calling her >> her niece, but her niece wouldn't answer the phone. Today she called. She like, >> "Okay, I need you to get over here now." She and her niece was talking, "Well, I got to make a run. I got to make a run." She said, "No, you need to get over here now." >> The officers weren't satisfied with the woman's story. She should have done things the other way around, calling paramedics first, then calling to inform the family. The fact that she didn't alert paramedics at all was a major red flag, indicating she was trying to conceal what happened. >> Stand up. >> Stand up because I just want you to stand up. >> Stand up. Put your hands behind >> your'll be all right. My mom is an accident. All right. Then we're going to walk down. >> I call Nancy. >> Can you call my cousin, please? >> Yeah, >> because I couldn't get in touch with her. >> I called her. >> First call should have been an ambulance, man. >> Well, I thought about it. >> Well, >> I did. I really did. >> You didn't do the right thing. >> Well, it was just a day. >> It was just a day. So, that's why we're going to have you step down. Oh yeah. That's up to you guys. >> Hey, we'll figure that out. >> Yeah, we ain't going anywhere, right? >> We're going to step down here. >> Okay, let me sit here because I >> No, we're actually going to put you in the back. >> All right. Oh, >> stop pulling away. >> You got anything on you that I know about this sticker stab? Nope. >> Okay. >> The woman was charged and found guilty of child neglect. That's most likely the last time she'll be babysitting her niece. On July 16th, 2025, police officers were dispatched to a residence following reports that a wanted fugitive was hiding inside. The officers had received tips from multiple informants. However, the suspect's family didn't want to hand him over without a fight. >> Hello, Marsh with Density. >> We're uh we need to speak to Willie. >> He's supposed to be turning his stuff in. We've been hearing that for the past two and a half, three weeks. >> He talked to the bells bombing. She said, >> "I he >> is he home?" >> I don't know. >> He >> It's only my mom and my son in there. >> I understand now. >> But >> when you were inside, is he there? >> Listen, he's she talked to him. He said that he would tell uh turn his stuff in at Hernando >> because she said if y'all get in contact with him, y'all going to take 30 days for y'all to ship him to uh Hernando. >> Well, no, that's not that's not that's not exactly true. So, what would happen is we bring him in, he would go to Land of Lakes, Hernando would go out there to pick him up, and then >> Well, she told him to [singing and music] turn himself in at Hernando. And I understand that, but that's been going on for three weeks and he's not >> turned that they're going to take him [music] to Hernando. So whenever >> I just don't want to see anybody else get in trouble for holding him here. >> Put simply, the woman's brother, Willie, had a warrant out for his arrest. The officer suspected he was hiding in his mother's house and warned his sister that if she interfered, she could face charges herself. Next, the officer spoke with Willy's mother, asking him to step outside so they could conduct a search. So Lily has a warrant, okay, out of Fernando County. >> So my thing is I don't want to see anybody else get in trouble, >> okay? Because you guys being aware of the situation and harboring somebody that has >> because I understand that. So let me explain myself. I don't want to see anybody else get in trouble, okay? [music] I want him to just own up to what's going on. Let's get it taken care of so we don't have to keep coming here cuz I know it's a pain but us coming here every couple days to speak to you. I understand the situation about clearing the house and the guns were out or whatever like that and you guys didn't feel safe. They >> just pull the guns out. >> So, and I and I understand your guys' concerns. >> Correct. [music] And I understand your guys's concerns. Trust me, I get it. I'm right there with you. >> The officer politely warned them again that if they were hiding Willie inside, they could face charges for harboring a fugitive. He advised them that for them to avoid those charges, their best course of action was to be upfront with them. >> So, that's why I wanted to speak to you, cuz I don't want to see you get in trouble. I don't want to see her get in trouble. I don't want to see anybody else get in [music] trouble. >> Okay. But I'm going to ask you one time if he is here to let me know. >> No. Can you wait till my daughter again? Cuz she always >> So, listen. I've been doing this for a while. So, is he? >> Yeah. >> I know he's here. >> I remember him. >> I know he's here. >> I don't want to see anybody else get in trouble. Okay. >> I've seen you a couple times. You told him. >> I understand. So, listen. I'm not worried about the bills. Correct. But that's been going on for weeks. [music] So again, I don't want to see you get in trouble. I've been doing it for a while. I know Mr. Willie is here. Okay, I know he is. And I understand being scared and wanting to turn yourself in. I get that cuz I don't think I would be able to do it either cuz nobody wants to be like, "Hey, I messed up. Let me turn myself in." It's a very hard thing to do. >> The officer told the family he had several trusted informants nearby who said Willie was hiding inside. But the officer wasn't getting anywhere with Willy's sister and mother. Next, another family member arrived on the scene who had a little more sense. >> So, we're out here because he's in our jurisdiction. >> We can't make a grown person do it. They don't want to. >> Can you do me a favor and can you go try to talk to him cuz I know he's here. I'm not guessing. I'm not just assuming he's here. I know he's here. I've had several people tell me within the last 30 minutes to an hour that he's here. Seen him inside, seen him here, stuff like that. So, it's not me just assuming he's here. I know he's here. And I I preferably just want him to own up to it >> because I don't want to have to keep coming back here two, three times a day or two, three times a week. And you're and the mom here doesn't need to be going through this. >> Willie had had several opportunities to turn himself in. His bail bondsman had visited him weeks earlier, telling him to turn himself in, but he failed to do so. That was why the officers were taking a more aggressive approach. cuz I understand. Yes, ideally he he it would be best for him to go to Hernando, turn himself in. But I can tell you right now, I've been doing it for a while. That ain't going to happen. If he hasn't done it yet, he ain't going to do it now. And that's the truth, right? And I get it. And I was explaining to them, I don't even know if I would do it. If I had a war, I don't think I would just be like, "Hey, I'm here, you know, but I just want to handle this in the most safest way possible, in the most calm way possible. I don't want to do anything in front of mom. I don't want to do anything in front of kids and family. I just want something. >> That's what I explained cuz when the other police officers came and that's for safety reasons, >> he was not here. No, no lie. He wasn't here the last time. You know what I mean? We were letting them in and then when they pulled the guns, you know, kids and I explained that kids are in here. Can can y'all please put the guns away? And then they got they got all like hostile and stuff. Well, it doesn't matter. >> And that's why I wanted everybody out of the house. The only person I want in there. Oh, and then it's him and then it's another one. So, now that everybody's out of the house, what was your first name? I'm sorry. >> I'm Chanel. >> Chanel. I'm Officer Delberty. Do [snorts] you mind going in there and trying to talk to him and I can follow along? >> The woman, Chanel, led the officers into the home. However, it quickly became apparent that Willie wasn't going to make it easy for them. Instead of turning himself in, he wanted to play hideand seek. >> Mr. Haynes, state city, police. I don't know. [laughter] I just got >> like I said, I know he's here. >> I know, but I just got here. So, >> Mr. Haynes, the date city police department. I need you to come out with your hands up. Let's take care of this, sir. >> Mom doesn't need to go through this. I got nothing on my side here. >> Come on out, man. We got you now. Come on. >> Come on out. >> Climb out from under there >> and let me see your hands the entire time. >> Willie was busted hiding in the attic. Thankfully, he made the smartest decision he made all day and decided to come down without making the officers climb through the rafters to get him. >> Got it. Be careful. When you get down, face the wall for me. Face the wall. Put your hand on your back slowly. >> You don't got to be rough with me, man. I >> I'm not I'm not I just want to get you secured. I don't want to do this in front of mom. Okay. And this is why we were so cool, man. I'm not trying to do this in front of mom. Trust me, I know it is. >> All right. And trust me, I already explained to them. >> I wouldn't turn myself in either. >> Fox 10. He finally cooperated with the police, but that didn't mean he agreed with their reasons for being there. According to him, they didn't have a warrant for his [music] mother's home and were operating outside their jurisdiction. >> You really ain't even supposed to like be here. I understand, but you ain't supposed to be here. You ain't got no search warrant. You came and like >> So, I got permission from >> Hold on. You didn't You didn't You didn't You didn't like have a search warrant for my mom. Y'all been coming here. [music] >> Correct. >> And listen, you're absolutely right, sir. >> Listen. Listen. And this warrant ain't even out of this county. Why are you like doing so? >> So Hernando has been calling and looking. But listen, this ain't even a warrant in your county, dude. Like what are you doing so much for? >> Because you live in our jurisdiction. They hit us up like every other county. >> They hit us up every day. >> When we get out there, I can county. >> They want you. >> They bother us every day. Hey, can you go check this house? >> I got a bomb on this. Not for >> you. >> Once they transfer you to hand, >> you'll go to court. >> Are they tight? You want me to readjust them? Face the wall for me. >> He could argue with the officers all he wanted, but the officers had every legal right to be [music] there. He had failed to turn himself in, so he has to face the consequences. The only thing left to do was to load him into a police cruiser and transport him to the police station. You got to walk out, sir. >> Just relax. Relax, >> bro. I'm relax. Why you telling Why you telling me to relax and I ain't even >> I just a couple steps right here. Just watch your step. >> Why you telling me to relax and I ain't I ain't >> Cuz I know the other guy was getting you worked up a little bit. That's all. >> Well, tell him to stay. I Bro, I heard about him, man. >> And that's fine. You can have your And that's fine. You can have your No opinion, bro. I know that the whole department just got fired for corruption and sex condo. I know this, >> man. Listen, man. What? >> Oh, that that [ __ ] don't do nothing, man. Calm down. It ain't No, it ain't. No, it ain't. >> We're moving on. >> We ain't ain't nothing going to happen. >> You want this dollar to go back to family? >> Yeah. Ain't [ __ ] going to happen. Ain't you ain't going to do nothing to me? >> I ain't the one that you could touch and anything could happen. You'll be working in Alaska next week. I can promise you that. Yeah, you're the first person to ever tell me that. >> Because listen, relax. >> This what the same [screaming] head said. That's why they ain't here no more. >> Watch your knees, sir. >> You know what I'm saying? >> Maybe next time he [music] finds himself a wanted fugitive, he'll choose a different hiding spot that's anywhere but his mother's home. On New Year's Day 2026, police officers rushed to a residence following reports that an 18-year-old [music] turned violent, attacking his mother and brother. After the incident, the suspect attempted to flee the scene, but the officers arrived faster than he expected. >> Police, >> get out quick. >> Please, >> come here. Let go. Let go. Come on. Drop it. >> Get in here, Brian. Godamn. >> Go to the wall. >> Give me your hand. Give me your hand. Give me your hand. Give me your hand. Give me your hand. GIVE ME YOUR HAND. GIVE ME YOUR HAND. >> IT'S RIGHT HERE. >> WE GOT HANDS. WE GOT HANDS. GOT >> IT. Somebody get his set of head cuffs out. >> Hold him. I got him. >> I got >> What? >> I got it. >> Okay. Okay. >> Go. Go. >> You see his wrist? >> Yep. >> I know your laptop is broken. I'm sorry. [snorts] >> You want him? >> I got it. It was an intense situation [music] and the officers weren't playing around. All they knew was that the suspect had terrorized his family and they wanted to get him in cuffs as quickly as possible so he couldn't hurt anybody else. >> What happened to your head, bud? >> Okay, >> we're going to have the paramedics come look at your head. Okay, >> I'm looking whatever. What was the fight about? >> We were sitting down eating lunch, bud. They got cold out here. >> Well, yeah. Is now, bud. >> I agree. I agree. >> That's what happened. >> Take me back. >> We're going to have the paramedics come look at your head first. >> Oh, you're not getting up. >> You stop touching. I'm trying to move my back. >> Well, then tell us what you're doing. worrying about what the hell I'm doing. I'm a head shot. >> People with body armor on my back. [snorts] >> Oh, you have to dispatch put your hands behind your back. No, that would have been necessary. >> While some of the officers escorted the suspect into the back of a police car, others made their way inside to speak to his [music] family who were visibly shaken over what had occurred. He was smoking cigars and I told him not to smoke in the house because I don't like him smoking in the house and he wouldn't go outside. It's [snorts] 2 ft to walk out the door. Okay. >> And he wouldn't do it. >> What's his name? >> That's okay. And >> I took the cigars away from him and he jerked my arm >> and then he went in his room and he got a knife and he stabbed the couch. >> Okay. >> Um and he threw a set of weights >> and then he took my phone >> and threw my phone >> and cuz I told him we were going to call the police so he threw my phone. Okay. And how are you related to >> his mom? >> His mom. Okay. >> The officers learned that the suspect had also attempted to attack his brother, but was unsuccessful. But that didn't stop him from grabbing a hammer and smashing his brother's laptop to pieces. [music] >> We left off. He broke the laptop. So, he cut this through weights, then went outside, >> and then he >> came back in or >> threw the weights and then he went outside like he was going to leave. >> Mhm. and he came back in with a hammer and he did that to the laptop and then he walked around there and then you guys came in. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. Now, will you run me through what happened, too? >> Oh, I wasn't aware he did that on So, he did that on purpose. >> Yeah. >> I thought it was just kind of there. >> Okay. >> Does he have Does he have any history of like mental issues, anything like that? >> Autistic has DMD. >> DMD or DMD? Like no. >> Yeah. >> What's DMD? >> Uh dysfunctional mood dysregulation disorder. >> It's like BPD, isn't it? >> It's like antisocial personality disorder for children. >> It was unfortunate to learn that the woman's son was dealing with mental health issues, but the officer's job was to ensure the family safety first and foremost. Next, the officers asked the suspect's brother to run them through the events of the day. So, run me through real quick what you what you experience. >> Uh, well, my end is a little different cuz I try to stay out of the room and out of the issue. >> Okay. >> Until it really needs it because I don't know. I don't want to get involved, >> right? >> Cuz I don't want to be in the violence. But I don't know. He's >> It's broken. >> You saw him grab her arm and then what else did you see that happened? >> Um, oh. I pulled the the weights that he threw and put it in the bedroom just out of the way so he wouldn't try and throw those again. >> Okay. >> And just try to get things out of the way. And then I came back out here and you guys were pretty much here by then. Like that is the fastest response time I've seen from you. >> Oh yeah. >> You tell me I would mess with anything like that. There's burp on top of it. Every visible unit. >> The man reiterated that his brother had indeed grabbed his mother by the arm. You could tell that their mother was upset by the whole situation and felt guilty that her son would be charged, but the officers had a job to do. >> This this can be a bad incident. I know this is pro it's a lot to process. I'm I'm sorry that you're having to go through all this like we don't but we we do have a job that we have to do and you know I mean when things when laws are broken they we do have to enforce them and it's not [music] um our personality to do it. It's just doing our job. [music] So, um please understand that, which I I understand that that doesn't really make a [music] difference, but um we're we're going to do uh what we can. You know, I understand um my ex had autism, her daughter had autism. Like, I've been around a lot. I've dealt with a lot. So, I mean, I'm understanding of that. >> Once again, the officer apologized to the mother and assured her that he would include her son's mental health struggles in his report. But just as he was about to leave the scene, he noticed that his comrades were once again engaged in the struggle with the suspect. >> Okay, I'll be back with you. >> Pull hog time. Got >> the hog time. Yep. >> [snorts] >> You're going to get off his legs. He's going to bring him up. This one or just his >> bend your knee, sir. >> The suspect was charged with domestic battery, criminal damage to property, and resisting a peace officer. On February 9th, 2023, police officers [music] along with a social worker responded to a residence after receiving troubling [music] reports about a child's safety. The call seemed routine at first, but as investigators dug deeper, they realized the situation was far more serious [music] than they initially thought. >> You go back to her room. She has a dresser. Apple watches. She Kim said they had I don't know what they had locks on, but she said they had locks on some stuff. And I don't know if they were locking the old girl in the room or locking the food up or what, but >> Mhm. >> I said Kim said she'd be [music] 14 on my table on Valentine's Day. And she Kim said she either weighed it was either 63 lb or 67 lb. She said the doctors were in the in the hospital said the doctors were crying. That's how bad it was. The father arrived on the scene and was [music] frustrated to see the heavy police presence. According to him, they had done nothing wrong and the whole thing was just blown out of proportion. >> You guys can tell me just waiting on the DCF investigator to get back up here. They're the ones that are doing everything right now. >> Is there a reason why there's so many of you guys out here? You're just bored hopefully tonight. >> Yes, sir. We're just bored. That's it. >> Cuz I don't feel like this is necessary, but >> Well, this is our job for >> I know it is, but it's I'm I'm frustrated and I'm not trying to take it out on you, but >> I understand that. I'm just I don't know what happened and I'm pissed off and I just >> I'm not people. >> He'll be able to explain everything when he gets up here. We they called us and just asked us to come out and accompany [music] him for an interview. >> Right now, that's all we know. >> Even though he was frustrated, he managed to restrain himself from [music] saying or doing something he would regret. Next, the social worker joined the husband and wife on the porch to explain the severity of the situation. [music] >> So, the report that we got states that uh Brooklyn is being homeschooled this year. Um the parents are making Brooklyn or have made Brooklyn sleep outside in the woods in a tent, take away her clothes, uh make her in front of others. Uh there has been an incident where Brooklyn has been locked in her room, has not been able to hold a bowel movement. Brooklyn used the bathroom in her room or I guess did her necessities in her room. The mother made Brooklyn spread the feces on her face and wouldn't allow her to wash it off for a long period of time. There's another incident where Brooklyn was being beaten at night. Uh and there is a report that the fathers are the parents are abusing Brooklyn. Are any of those allegations true? No, I I mean I mean what did you talk to him about? >> The allegations were disgusting and the parents had a lot of explaining to do. As you can imagine, allegations like these are taken extremely seriously and unless the parents could make up a convincing enough story to the social worker that their child's imagination was simply running wild, they were facing serious charges. >> Ever since we had her, she's been she always lied. I don't like saying that, but she's a pathological liar. You know, it's been constant with her. We've have when we fostered her, she we've had like a stack of stuff saying what we've done against her and have all been proven false. >> And where was this? >> Back in Washington. We were fostering her Washington state. >> Stack. It was wonderful. Well, it's you know like >> she was like I said I told you about that particular incident. She it you know it rains a lot there and um she was outside playing with we were all out there and the bottom of her pants got a little bit wet from moving around and she went and asked him if she could change her clothes and he asked if you're going to go back in the house [cough] or [clears throat] if you're going to stay outside and play with everybody in the rain and she said she's going to stay outside and play. So he said why don't you just wait until you go in to change. you don't, you know, like there's no point in changing if you just have a little water at the bottom of your pants if you're going to be outside playing in the rain still. Um, and that was the time where she went to her teacher and said that she had wet pants and that we wouldn't let her change and they kind of took it as she needed her pants and didn't let her change. And I was like, that's never been the case ever. >> It sounded like they had initially been fostering the child, Brooklyn, before they adopted her permanently. According to the parents, she was a pathological liar and was constantly fabricating stories resulting in several interventions from CPS. >> We don't abuse her. I honestly can say from the bottom of my heart, we don't. She will misconrue things that we do as and it's very difficult with her. We've gone through counseling with her, multiple counselors. >> Is there a reason why when she's in the bathroom, she has to be watched by you? >> Because she will get into everything. She will eat the cat food >> even though I don't I don't restrict her on any food. She thinks it's it's just like >> she was >> Is there Is there a reason why she's so skinny and large? >> I don't really I mean I can send you pictures of her baby sister her now sevenyear-old sister who was that big too that I don't know. It must just be genetics. >> The parents could claim her size was due to genetics all they wanted. But the police including the doctors at the local hospital weren't buying it. Being a little underweight is one thing, but Brooklyn was essentially malnourished. >> She's at the hospital [music] in Gainesville. >> The doctor says that her body that her organs are shutting down because of starvation. >> I don't know how that's possible. She eats so much. I mean, she gets mounding plates of food three times a day. >> They're they're they were they're concerned about her. I actually asked the investigator that's over there if she was going to die. I >> her organs are shutting down from malnutrition. >> She has so much food. When was the last time she went to the doctor? >> We haven't done it. >> Her wellchild check would be her lab and then when we got here [music] >> that would have I'd have to look it up. >> We also did when she got to school when we got down here. We had to do her physical for her school and she >> April 2022 when you guys moved down here. >> Yeah. Um she did. >> And since then she hasn't been to the doctor. No, we I mean busy life. >> I mean, we're talking about the children, adults. >> Yeah, I know. Different busy life crazy. None of them were due for their wellchilds yet. So, I was just waiting for that. >> They continue to claim that they had been feeding Brooklyn, but unfortunately for them, [music] X-rays don't lie. And the fact that they had failed to take her to the hospital for a checkup meant one of two things. Either they were extremely inattentive and neglectful, or they were trying to hide something. >> What about me? metal spats along her feet in her hands when she runs away. >> Well, when she runs away, she runs away barefoot. [music] And so she's and she runs in the middle of the road with other truckers coming down. This road gets busy with trucks and she's run out there barefoot >> like she just >> So what happens when she comes back? When she runs away like what what is the disappointment? >> Have I talked to her? I mean the last time I she ran away, I went down to the end of the road and walked back with her. I had my hand on her shoulders and we walked back. We cleaned her up cuz [music] that was the time she had got we cleaned her up and we went back to bed cuz it was in the middle of the night. Um talked to her and [music] said don't you know don't do that again like >> there's no in the house. >> I think that time I think I did sm with my hand. >> The officers and social worker had heard everything they needed to hear. The parents [music] could fight some of the allegations, but there was no way they could talk their way out of the malnutrition allegations [music] as there was concrete medical evidence of that. >> As of right now, you're under arrest for >> both of us. >> Yes, ma'am. Both of you. If you [music] want to secure the animals real quick, >> I can use this. You can even follow me. I don't care. I just leave the door open. We're not going to follow you in, but leave the door open. Can you call her to come home and take >> or they secured? >> Yeah. You know, long like I got I'm on call so [music] I need >> You need to call your boss. You're you will be seeing first appearance at the judge in the morning and it's uh it's going to be several felony charges. Like I said, I'm not sure what they all are. the investigator be able to tell you, but [snorts] um >> you're not getting out of jail tonight or >> Okay. [music] >> Probably not tomorrow either. >> All right. >> I'm going to take it from you until we get to the jail and then I'll give it back to you then. Okay, >> that's fine. >> There's probably a little bit of junk. Just push it to the side. All it is is a jacket in a cooler and even drinking the cooler, do you? [laughter] >> No, sir. It is water. Some people just shouldn't be parents, and there's a good chance [music] that the couple will never be again. On September 30th, 2023, [music] police officers were dispatched to a residence to search for a suspect with multiple active [music] felony warrants. Unfortunately, the suspect's family was home and they weren't about to make things easy for the officers. >> How you doing, ma'am? I'm Sergeant Cook with AP County Police Department. So, what we're doing here is Joan has a multiple active warrants, all felony grade. >> Oh, what? >> Yes, >> he's got warrants out of Columbia County for can't remember. He's got warrants out of Gwynette County for driving a suspended license, giving false name to officers. >> No, you must mean jail. >> No, it's Joan. He also has warrants out of Clark County for battery and other things. Um, they're actually signing more [music] warrants on him right now for stalking and other domestic violence related. No, no, no, no. >> Stop. Stop. Listen to me. [laughter] I'm telling you, I've already checked it. I've already talked. >> Here's what's going to happen. >> So, by law, we could go in. >> But we're having the sheriff's department around. Hold on. Y'all need to listen. This is important. This is important. You're This is important. >> Listen to me. Ma'am, listen. I need y'all to listen. This is important. If I find him inside and y'all refuse to let us, y'all are both going to jail for obstruction. >> The officer told the woman that the suspect, Jawan, had nearly 10 active warrants for his arrest. The woman said they [music] didn't have a problem with the officers going inside, but they wanted to know why so many police officers were present. That's what they said at least. But in reality, they were just stalling. >> Okay. >> So, I'm asking you now, is there a >> Can we check to make sure he is not? >> Nobody's coming. >> Then we do. There are multiple ones, son. >> They're bringing it right now. We don't need a [music] search warrant. We can do it with the arrest warrant. >> No, ma'am. I'm telling you, right? >> A search warrant. >> Listen to me. I'm going to Ma'am, this is important for you to listen up. >> All I need is an arrest warrant as long as it has his address on it. That being >> You just told me I don't fake. >> No, ma'am. >> I'm just telling you what's going on. So, when the sheriff's department gets here with the warrant, if I go inside and I find him inside, I'm going to arrest you for obstruction. Just letting you know. The woman said they had children in the house and didn't want the officers to scare them. As a result, [music] they reached a compromise and agreed to send only two officers in to search for Jan. >> Y'all doing too much. >> This this ain't nothing but racism in this. >> Ma'am, warrants have nothing to do with race. >> Wait a minute. Can somebody turn the war off in there for me? >> Yeah, I did. Don't move. Sit right here. >> How y'all doing, little ones? >> It's in here. Okay. He's coming out THE ROOF. GET DOWN NOW. LET ME SEE YOU. COME DOWN. I DO NOT WANT TO TASE YOU OUT OF THE ROOF. >> COME DOWN. Come down now. >> Get out of THE WAY. >> DROP DOWN. >> GET BACK. Get back now. Come on. [laughter] >> Detain her. >> It was a weird and risky hiding place. The suspect broke through the ceiling while the officer was standing directly beneath him. First, they needed to get the family under [music] control so they could deal with Jawan. It was hanging over them at that point. >> Mr. Come out of the roof. >> If you do not, you're going to receive more charges. >> I know how y'all do. >> Sir, come out of the roof or you receive more charges. Listen, I need you over there. You can film over there. >> If you OUT THERE, CALM DOWN, PLEASE. Let them white. >> I need y'all to step over here. We not doing this. >> Hey sir. Sir. >> Sir. >> Hey sir. I appreciate you. You mind having a walk with her? >> Thank you. Thank you brother. >> I know y'all will do that. >> No. I want them to my son. Stop. >> Take a breath. >> No. No. All I'm seeing them do is my son. They will kill MY SON. >> NO. Y'ALL NOT GOING TO MY SON IN my house. You're not doing it. Do not shoot him if you're not going to. >> The suspect's mother continued to repeat that she wasn't going to let the officers shoot her son. If she didn't want that to happen, then [music] she needed to let them do their job under calmer circumstances without her shouting in their ears and distracting [music] them. >> Let's get her out to him with you acting like this. >> You cannot detain her. Put her in the car. We can always take her out. >> Sir, don't don't try to resist, ma'am. Then don't resist. Stop. Stop. I'm not going to kill you. Don't my son. Take her away. I can't talk. Please don't my son. Please don't my son. >> You can't talk to him. You screaming, yelling. >> I'm telling him to come down if you up there. >> No, you were yelling at us. You weren't telling him to come down. Coming down the step. My son, >> we do not want him hurt. >> Please don't. >> We're just doing our job, ma'am. We're not trying to hurt him. >> Shoot my son. >> We don't want him hurt. We do not want him hurt. >> We don't want to hurt him. >> It's not [music] worth him getting injured. Okay. >> So, please don't my son, please. >> Nobody's him. Okay. >> My son. With the mother out of the house, the officers once again turned their attention to getting her son out of the ceiling. [music] But that was easier said than done. Instead of coming down straight away, he chose to argue with them from above them. But thankfully, [music] his sister was willing to try to talk some sense into him. >> Sir, I don't I don't >> Come down here, please. Cuz they got mama in handcuffs. >> They already got her in handcuffs. Calm down. I'll let I'll let you talk to your children. I don't mind that. >> It's too many kids in here. >> All right. >> I appreciate it. >> Buddy, I ain't even got a weapon drawn. I ain't got a taser drawn. I'm trusting you coming down. >> I When we get outside, I'll look at it, man. I don't have a computer with me. I just know you had some warrants. I have a warrant for >> what I remember. Burglar, but I don't know. >> I buddy, I don't know. I don't I didn't do it. >> No, I don't know any details. All I know is you >> All I know is you have warrants. I don't know what they're for. >> Jawan continued to make phone calls from up in the ceiling until his sister eventually reentered the picture and demanded that he come down. After some back and forth, [music] he decided to listen to his sister and come down. >> Calm down. >> Come on. >> I'm just trying to figure [music] and we'll figure it out once we get outside. What I got to watch? >> I I'll tell I'll be glad to look as soon as we get out. Listen, calm down. Calm down. >> We don't need rushing. Look, >> that's fine. Just turn around for me so we can >> I understand that. Look, >> we'll talk to you. >> Don't be aggressive. >> I'm not going to be aggressive. >> I don't mind talking to like >> Let me put some flipflops on your friend. >> There you go. >> What's that? >> What? I got a warrant for >> when we walk outside. I'll let you see them >> cuz I'm trying to figure out like what the heck. >> You don't have no You don't have them. Not that's not >> I know. got probation so it doesn't take >> put your shoes on. >> You don't need shoes when you go on traffic. >> Well, he can get some flip flops or something. >> Jan and his sister seem to think that the officers were lying about his warrants, but police officers aren't in the habit of conducting illegal raids on suspects [music] without warrants. >> I'm saying, >> "Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's too much." Look where my mom like you in the police car. Yes. >> Where my mom get? >> Well, she she ain't doing nothing. Joan, shut up talking. Stop. Stop. >> It's enough racism going on right now. It's enough racism going on right now. >> I need you to stop talking. >> I got choice. >> Yeah, we'll tell you. I mean, you got warrants right now. So, >> officer, which car is not mine? >> Ma'am, I do not know I was inside with you. If if I had to guess, it would probably be the one right behind this SUV. >> Let me Let me have my mom. Come on. No, you can't go here, man. Come on. My mom. >> She Here he go. My Those are my cuts, right? Yeah. >> My mom. >> That That's [music] not my decision. >> The claims of racism being thrown around were absolutely ridiculous. It was simple. Dwan had multiple warrants out for his arrest. [music] And none of those warrants was about the color of his skin. And the arrest protocol is the same regardless of the suspect's skin color. Y >> I've been doing this 23 years. Ask me how many black. >> How many? >> Zero. >> How many? >> I want him to be your person. >> You know it. >> No, ma'am. You're listening to a national narrative. That's just not true. >> You know, we all are. >> No, ma'am. It's just not true. >> It is true. Now, let me ask you a question. I need you to calm down. >> No, Marisa, it's true. >> Ma'am, I can take you to jail right now for obstruction, but I'm trying to let you out, >> but you're not coming down. I'm sorry. >> Your son is already detained back. >> Stop talking. Stop talking. Mama, please. >> Please, mama, stop talking. Stop it. >> Your car. >> Stop. >> Pull your computer out so I can show them the lights. >> Stop. Please. >> I I know. Mama, just please. Please stop [music] talking. >> Jawan had a felony probation violation that included simple battery, family violence, [music] and cruelty to children in the third degree. As a result of his actions, a charge of obstruction was added to his wrap sheet. [music] He pleaded guilty to obstruction and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to pay $540 in fines and court costs. On top of that, he was sentenced to 3 years in jail after being [music] found guilty of violating his probation. On August 20th, 2025, Marian County deputies rushed to a home following [music] reports that a young girl was convulsing and was not breathing properly. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a badly injured child and immediately called paramedics [music] to the scene. All I know is the father said that he overreacted and I'm an [ __ ] and I did this to him. That's all I know. birthday. >> What hospital? >> First, last name, birthday. >> All right, let me get it. >> Is she breathing? >> We need to get a helicopter in your sub stationation. >> Okay, sounds going to let the guys know. >> Quick as we can. >> Are y'all calling for the chopper? >> I'll call for >> Okay, I'll let them know it's coming. >> See her at 5420. It's important. There's going to be severe single 46 [music] to the single 44. The child is going to be airlifted. So far, the injured child's mother and little sister were present on the [music] scene and were escorted into the back of a police cruiser for questioning. They weren't being suspected of a crime. The officers just needed to get to the bottom of things. >> All right. You stay 1012 with them inside your car. Just No one's detained. They're just chilling in the AC. Uh, if you call DCF, immediate response. >> Okay. >> And you can kind of keep eyes on him and on them. >> I'll just park right here. >> Uh, keep them separate. I don't want them closed. Just wander back and forth between two cars. Make sure he's good. Make sure your AC's crank. I will secure [music] it for our privacy. All right. Do >> you ever hear anything next door with your neighbors at any hearing problems over there? >> Well, only in the night they are uh crying, I think. I'm sorry, my English is very bad. >> It's okay. >> Yeah, but she Why? I looked in this room. Oh, >> we're trying to look into it right now. I'm just curious if you've ever heard anything going on over there. >> Oh, okay. >> Ever hear anything? You say crying >> sometimes in the night. >> Okay. >> The officer took down the [music] witness's information in case he needed to contact him at a later date. The injured child's mother was transported to the police station where she contacted her family members. over here. Mom, I need you to come. Mom, I need you. Please come. Please come. Mom, please. I know. Mom. Mom. Please, please. >> From the sound of things, it looked like the woman's husband, Gregory Blackman, had flipped out during an argument and severely beaten the child enough so that she had to be airlifted to a hospital. Understandably, the woman's mother was so concerned and probably furious over the phone. >> They got her stable, but they said her um I think her heart rate was a little unstable. So, they were going back. I have more children. Mom, please. Mom, mom, please. Mama, baby. Mom, please. Mom, just come here. Just come to my address. Well, I'm not there. I can give you the address to the hospital. Nobody's at the house. Nobody can't go to the house right now. The woman hung up the phone, presumably as her mother rushed to the hospital to see her granddaughter. Even though the child had been beaten so badly that she had stopped breathing for a period, it sounded like she would pull through. Back at the hospital, an officer and a support worker had some questions. >> So, how long have you been? I thought I was supposed Hello No, [snorts] >> I'm at the hospital. >> Gregory Blackman was charged with aggravated child abuse. Investigators and doctors determined his daughter had suffered severe injuries, including a brain bleed and fractured ribs. Reports also state that medical staff found signs of prior injuries. Gregory is being held without bond while awaiting his day in court. On March 10th, 2025, police officers were dispatched to a residence following reports that a husband and wife had gotten into a heated argument that turned physical. >> Hi, how are you? I'm Jack. >> Hello. We don't need to shake hands. That's fine. What's going on? >> So, my >> Where is he right now? >> He's in my bedroom where I work from. >> Okay. All right. Come over here. This is not me. This is puppy on his back from the therapist hanger marker >> because >> I went and delivered something that was supposed to deliver to a >> Come over here. Come over here with me. I'll talk to you soon. >> According to the woman, Jen, her husband suspected she had been cheating on him. She said that he confronted her about it, calling her names. And after a while, she flew off a handle and hit him a few times with a coat hanger across the back. >> And then he's like, "You're such a [ __ ] You're a you're a [ __ ] You spread your legs for anyone. All it takes is for you to have a few drinks and you [ __ ] anyone." And then I started slapping my crotch and I said, "You're right." And I couldn't take it anymore. I'm like, "Shut the [ __ ] up. Stop saying this [ __ ] to me. I'm sitting at my desk working. I was on the phone with my boss saying, "I'm going to jail. I got to punch out before I go to jail." And I I couldn't take it. I just said, "Shut the up." And I just took a hanger and I just smacked I was swung like this and I hit him across the back. That was it. It's just I've got it all here. I I talked to my brother-in-law who's a Berwin cop. He's like, "Jen, he even told me to strangle myself and put fake charges against him." I said, "I'm not >> He's over here. >> He's on this side. >> Popped his head up." If she had recordings of her brother-in-law, who's a police officer, advising her to strangle herself so she could press charges against her husband, then that cop needed to be fired immediately. >> What's his relationship to you? >> He's my husband. >> So, husband, >> 35 years we've been together. >> Okay. Well, you know, >> and he thinks I spread my legs for anyone. We have four kids. We raised five. And I didn't sleep with anybody, but I've been accused of it for the last 20 years, and I can't take it anymore. It's I'm just done with this. I I can't fix your marriage. >> I didn't ask you to fix his marriage. There you go. So you you have >> I do, but he doesn't and we cycle. >> I don't know what your brother-in-law, Berwin Cop, is saying, you know, put marks on yourself. I mean, that's ridiculous. >> I know you wouldn't do it, but it's it's appalling that he would even say that. >> I know. I mean, it's not like he hasn't in the past, but I'm not I'm not worrying about that. I just want him to leave. I mean, I've got four kids that I gave birth to and raised five. They ranged from 19 to 25. I just can't do this. It's so horrible. >> Although her husband accused her of cheating, she claimed that wasn't the case. She said he walked in to see her massaging a friend who recently pinched a nerve. She claimed that her husband was always accusing her of cheating and that her outburst was the result of months of being wrongly accused of infidelity. >> What sets him off? I don't understand what sets him off. >> He wakes up today. >> I woke up yesterday morning and I was told what a [ __ ] I was at 6:00 a.m. cuz he hasn't slept. >> He slept 2 hours in 48 hours. >> Okay. Is Is he Does he drink? >> Yes. >> So he's Is he an alcoholic? >> I don't. >> Okay. I mean, are daily one who drinks? Does he drink daily? Yes. >> What does he drink? >> Beer. Usually, >> he wakes up, he starts in on you immediately. You're at your desk working or whatever. >> When I got up at 6:00 a.m. >> He just He started yelling at you about how horrid you just couldn't take it anymore. And you I'm sorry. Did you grab the hanger off my my thing and just swing it at him, but he was laying there and yes, I hit him. >> It was unfortunate to hear that the couple was going through marital issues. And maybe she was telling the truth. Maybe her husband had been verbally abusive toward her, but unfortunately that didn't give her the right to strike him. Next, the officer went inside to speak to her husband. >> How you doing? Sorry I couldn't hear you. >> Is your dog locked up? >> Yeah, he's locked. >> Okay. What's going on? >> This one's friendly. >> This one's friendly. Okay. >> No, we were just arguing and she took a hanger right across my back. >> Okay. >> I've had cupping done. So, that's >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I recognized I recognized the cupping right here. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I put the right across my back. >> What are you guys arguing about? >> Marriage. No, it was cheating on me two weeks ago. >> That was mine. Just kidding. >> Okay, no problem. Um [gasps] just just marital argument. I mean, >> you know, it is mine, >> but you can't hit. You know, she hit me. >> As for the infidelity, it sounded like a case of he said, she said. Jen claimed she hadn't been cheating, painting her husband out to be overly jealous and paranoid, but according to him, that wasn't the case. >> The house is in her name, but I feed both. >> You guys are married, right? >> Yeah. >> It's I mean, legally married. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Well, I mean, it's marital property. >> So, I could stay here and she could leave. >> We can't kick anybody out. I mean, that that's something, you know, if you wanted to go after an order of protection, you could do that. The order of protection could remove her. We we can't, you know, take >> you have to go out to the county and do that. >> Just go out there. They'll help you. They'll probably have a advocate or whatever. >> 21. >> Unfortunately, talk to only talking to you. I don't know what he's saying. I mean, he may be telling her to do the same thing. >> So, you know, >> called her name, but I never touched, you know. >> Um, back and forth. >> He told the officers that they had already filed for divorce, but remained living together until the divorce was finalized. understandably, as he claimed he had done nothing wrong, he didn't want to leave his house, stating that if anyone should have to go, it should be Jen, being as she was the one who was violent. >> I need to get the from her, you know, cuz she started hitting before and it got worse and worse and worse. Like I said, she came in with a knife and attacked me sleeping. >> A what? >> A knife. >> Oh, a knife. Okay. >> She attacked me when I was sleep one time. K in the face. >> Have you guys How long have you guys lived here? >> 20 years. 20 years. Okay. >> Okay. Let me go out and talk with him. Okay. >> The officer gave the man more legal advice before stepping outside [music] to speak to Jen. She tried to justify her actions, but unfortunately that's not [music] the way it works. Arguing is one thing, but the moment you become physically violent, you cross a line. >> He keeps telling me I'm a narcissist because I'm not responding. And you know, and I didn't say anything. And then I heard him tell his girlfriend He loves her. And I said, "Oh, that's why. Huh? Telling your friend, quote unquote, your friend you love her. [ __ ] you and the horse you rode in on." >> You heard I'm sorry. That's a new detail here. >> What? >> You heard him tell his girlfriend that >> it's a friend who's a girl supposedly, but you know, she's nothing but an alcoholic and she's abused by her boyfriend. I called him JJ, which is her boyfriend's name. Called him Ray, which is my brother-in-law's name. abuses my sister-in-law mentally. >> Unfortunately for her, she had let her temper get the best of her, and as a result, she would be placed under arrest for domestic battery. [music] The only silver lining of the day was that she at least took responsibility for her actions and cooperated with the officers. >> Per policy, I do have to handcuff you. >> Okay. My my phone is in my sweater. Is that okay? >> Yeah, that's fine. I'll just I'll put it in front here. Maybe in front back. >> Has to be in back. >> If I had a transport, >> you can put them on afterwards. >> Okay. We need some cushions back here, though. >> Yeah. Well, you know why we don't? Because people puke. [laughter] >> I can't do this, though. This is really hurting my wrist. That's okay. Don't worry. Okay, I'll be fine. >> I'll get you. I'm just going to lean like this, though. That's okay. >> That's fine. Yeah. >> Hopefully, what happened will be a lesson for her moving forward. Remember folks, arguing is one thing, but is never acceptable to lay hands on another person, no matter how much they work you up. Sometimes things aren't always what they seem. Even a seemingly happy home could hide dark secrets. And [music] once they come to light, the law couldn't turn a blind eye. When cops find out sick family [music] secrets, it would lead to a disturbing discovery worthy of an arrest.
