What happened? I have to leave the plane for a further investigation. Oh, okay. Can you tell me something on camera? Yes, ma'am. Cuz I don't. You can go back to work. Cuz I want to see what's on the camera. >> don't [music] don't do this. >> Can I Can I see what's on the camera because I didn't take anything. You have 1 second. Don't No. Okay. You're not giving her a hug right now. I'm not giving you a hug. Do not. With surveillance cameras on every corner, shoplifting isn't just reckless, it's idiotic. From three-way heists to criminal duos swiping thousands in cosmetics, cops bust shoplifters stealing like they own the store. I want the rest of my He's trying to say that we took that we stole. Let me see the receipt. Everything in our cart is still going to say we stealing. Nobody needs to steal. We got money. I got EBT. On February 24th, 2025, two siblings were caught shoplifting from a Walmart in Piscataway, New Jersey. And here's the crazy part, one of the suspects, Kyra El Snipes, had been the one to call the police in the first place. And literally I'm not going to keep arguing with them. He got We got all our receipts right here for the TV and everything. Okay, he counted EVERYTHING IN OUR CART and still trying to say we stealing stuff. We counted one cart. YOU DIDN'T EVEN COUNT MY FOOD CART. >> WE GOT LOOK, everything's on here. Did you call 911? Yes, I did. Who did you talk to? I'm out with the caller. Um do you want to go talk to them? You want me to talk to them? I want the rest of my He's trying to say that we took that we stole. Let me see the receipt. He counted everything in our cart and still going to say we stealing. [ __ ] Listen, just don't go anywhere yet. I'm going to help you guys work it out. No, don't cancel. Yeah, cuz you're going to spend time here. No, it will not. I got to We got to make sure everything's all good. >> No, everything is fine. No, they just They said just stop is good. This is good. Your stuff is all good? >> This is good, but he's saying that the rest of the stuff that we didn't pay Did you Kyra swore they paid for everything, but the officer wasn't about to take her word for it. She needed confirmation from the store staff. Desperate, Kyra begged the Uber driver not to go, but he had a job to get to and understandably didn't want to be dragged into the mess. How'd you get all this out here by yourself? My brother did. >> Oh, okay. He counted everything in the cart. Half of the stuff that's in that's not in this cart is in there cuz he took it out. >> Okay, go ahead and hurry up. What you talking about he's going to call the cops? No, I'mma help you. I don't even nobody needs to steal. We got money. I got EBT. What was the issue here? What happened? Uh Yeah, we were checking >> to figure is this two separate incidents? What is this? No. Yeah, we were trying to verify the items that's there. Okay. Some of the items are not They what? Did you not check? >> No. Did you not scan it on checkout? >> No, I don't know. Some Some of them are not paid. Hold on. And and uh they don't want to They don't want us to verify Okay. There's a lady who has just left with that. Yeah, I have my partner talking to her outside here. So Uh what uh And let them just be Cuz some of them are not paid. Kyra's brother was sitting inside the store. One of the officers tried to speak with him to get to the bottom of the issue and by that point the Uber had already canceled and left, so they couldn't make a quick getaway if things got difficult. Ma'am, do you mind if you just bring your shopping cart right here real fast so we can just verify the stuff real fast? I mean the quicker you cooperate, the quicker we're going to get you out of here. Yeah, just look. We're just going to verify and then he said whatever He just said the stuff that was good that's out there. Everything that's not good he just put back there. That's what I'm saying. I understand. I understand. I'm not Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am. Okay, listen. At this point we're doing an investigation. Look. Look. Just bring it in. do them. He just to verify this once again and then that's it. >> come out here and do it because I'm not about to keep bringing this in and out? How about we How about How about we do this? I'll wheel one in. You wheel one in and you wheel the other one in, right? Yeah, you need help doing it, right? The Walmart employees said they had tried to stop Kyra and her brother from leaving the store with the unpaid items. Despite walking out with hundreds of dollars of stolen goods, Kyra had the nerve to call 911 on the employees who tried to stop them from stealing. That's what you want to do. Correct. It's just Just verify yourself, right? Just listen Listen to me. Listen to me. What you want to do is you just want to verify the items. Yes. Okay? And that's it. Okay. All right, so let's verify this real quick so you can get them out of here. Let's go. You have uh the receipt once more? The camera's right there. They're telling you running camera back that he just verified it three times. Where's the camera? It's right there. All right. All right. Stop. What are we trying to do? What do you need? You need the receipt? Yes. Can I have the receipt? Let me have the receipt. We keep giving this receipt. If you just seen it You're going behind the counter. Count. That's right here. All right, here we go. We got a mirror here. We got a TV. All right, I think we can cross that off. Look, two two two mirrors, one TV. It should be three. That's all of them. Those are not on my wife. Those are not on Those are not diapers on my wife. Yeah, but one of them is not on it. It's not Is it not on it still? If you can't If it's not verified, we're going to call the cops. No clothes on the receipt. These didn't have them. Hm? Those are not on Those are not on. The loss prevention staff found that several items hadn't been paid for, including one large box of baby wipes, a box of diapers, several items of baby clothing, and two bottles of baby formula. Everything else had been purchased using her mom's EBT card. They just wish cuz it's already like it's already 11:02, they're already shutting down. Um if you could just come he said come back tomorrow whatever the items are that you want to purchase we'll purchase. He doesn't want to trespass you, doesn't want anything, just whatever, okay? Okay. We'll just put this out as a misunderstanding, understand? Okay, thanks. All right. Uh did did you provide the other officer your ID? Yeah, I don't have a I know I don't I don't I said that I was 17 but they asked me did I have a ID and I said no. Okay. But I my name is Sierra Williams. I called on the phone. You didn't do anything wrong. All right. Why lie about who you are or how old you are or anything? Why lie about my age? Why did you lie about anything? If you didn't do anything wrong, why would you say that? I don't really want to get to and he told us I didn't know we had to get past like asking who I am and do I have a ID. Because I didn't do nothing for me to even give any information. Stop lying. This all went through the officers and security. >> I called y'all though. I called y'all. I called y'all for my safety cuz they thought we were stealing. The staff decided not to pursue the shoplifting charges. The siblings were moments away from walking out with no consequences, but instead Kyra chose to escalate the situation by lying to the police. You have to tell your real age first. So if you have an ID give it to me now or else we're going to be waiting. I do not have a ID. Okay, why did you lie when and you said you're 17? Your mouth was off by 2 years. I know it was but I just didn't think I had to tell y'all. >> to lie at least do it right. Where's your ID? Give it to me now. I don't How you pressure me about something that I do not have? >> How do you not have an ID? Because I don't have one. It takes a long time to get one. >> I'm 20 actually but I said '04. So what happened was Girl, she said the wrong date. I don't have a ID. Call your mom. My mom is not What is my mom going to say? So we If you're 17 someone has to pick you up. I'm not 17. Why did you lie? Because I didn't think I had to give y'all information about something that I investigating a possible shoplifting. >> But it's it's in And now you're trespassing in the store. So now we have to identify you. Show me anything that can prove your name that you're telling me. Do you have a debit card or anything? You got nothing? I can't give you my ID. You're making it harder. >> I'm not making it >> it much harder. >> How am I making it harder? I'm 20 years old >> Give me anything that has your name on it. >> I don't have no I don't have nothing. >> I'm not lying. >> You already lied, so why should I believe you now? >> a Starbucks card. >> me something with your name on it or you're not leaving. Well, then I can't leave. I have nothing. Or I can bring you into the police department and we can lock you up. >> Just lock me up. I have no ID. >> to identify you at some point. >> You guys been down here like 20 minutes ago. >> [music] >> What's her name? She said her name. Okay, what is her name? >> Tell me what it is. Oh, she said her name. All right, well, what is Tell me what it is. Sorry, she said her name. She said her name. But I'm just saying we told the woman to leave. All right, we're doing an investigation right now. If you don't Uh You both could be arrested right now for shoplifting. I did not shoplift. I'm not >> I'm just letting you know we're we're trying to prevent that. We want you guys to get We want you to get out of here. Okay, I get that. It's different. Since you've properly trespassed you guys from the store, we need to properly ID you. Okay, yes, officer, you can verify me. But I'm trying to verify her. So I want to see if you're going to corroborate what she says. If not, she's getting locked up. So, what is her first name? >> What do you mean? What is her first name? >> I don't reveal my info to you. She's hindering apprehension. >> She might be. As long as your name checks out, you give us your correct information, you're fine. What's your first name? Why do you ask me? Because I'm trying to corroborate the story. >> That's why you're here shoplifting. What's your first name? No, that's fine. You give us your correct information. I I have more than enough for enduring, so After watching her brother get pressured by the police, Kyra cracked and came clean about her identity. She still insisted she hadn't stolen anything, but admitted to lying about her name. And it turned out she'd been carrying her ID the whole time. What's your first name? I don't want to get in trouble. I didn't steal nothing. I wasn't doing nothing. But yeah, I did lie. I apologize for that. I just don't want to get in trouble cuz I'm already on probation. But wasn't stealing anything. If you're on probation, then you you should know by now that you need to be providing your proper information >> I just don't want to get in trouble cuz I don't want to get in trouble because I don't We are There's They don't want to press charges on shoplifters. You could have left here 20 minutes ago if you gave me your proper name. See, now this is the problem, right? Why Why did you lie? Do you have warrants? >> No, I'm on probation. They said that I'm stealing I'm I could go to like to jail and I don't want that to happen when I wasn't stealing. After finally getting hold of her ID, the officers were able to verify her identity using the police database, but she wasn't going anywhere. Yeah, I'm going to bring you in. So, just turn around. Take your bag off. >> Wait, can I give my brother my stuff cuz he could leave? No, no, just stay here. Stop. All right. Oh, wait, I could bring my phone? >> [clears throat] >> Listen, there's no reason we I would have walked with you if you didn't lie to me three, four times about your name. Kyra L. Snipes was taken to the station and processed. She was charged with obstructing justice, hindering identity, criminal trespass, shoplifting, and disorderly conduct. On March 29th, 2025, police were called after a group of shoplifters got caught stealing from CVS. As soon as they saw the cops, they attempted to quickly ditch the items and act dumb. Stop right there. Stop right there. All three of you guys, all three of you guys. Nope, all three of you guys. You guys Nope. Nope, doesn't matter. Stop right there or you're going to go in handcuffs. Go right there or you're going to go in handcuffs. [laughter] >> Okay, but I didn't All right, I'm reading you your rights here. You're being detained for shoplifting, all right? I didn't shoplift. Okay, that doesn't matter. Stay over here. You're being detained. What do you mean? I didn't say nothing. All three of you guys. I didn't say nothing. Well, we're going to have to figure that out. We're going to review cameras. IDs. Okay. >> I didn't say nothing though. All right, we're going to figure that out. IDs. Do you have your ID on you? I didn't say nothing. What do you mean? I didn't walk out with nothing. >> out. We're going to figure that out, all right? >> Did I walk out with something? I didn't walk out with nothing. Are you going to arrest me? Show me your ID. I have an ID. All right, we'll take we'll take names. I got no problem with that. At the moment you guys will be being detained for possible subjects. Detained for possible arrest. No, but you're being detained. You're not free to go. It's always the same story. When criminals are stopped, they never have their IDs on them. But what crooks don't seem to grasp is that by refusing to identify themselves only makes their situation worse. And then you were carrying that bag, right? Perfect. I saw you I saw you with this bag. Yeah, I carried it. Yeah, I got you. Yeah, you got to carry it from there with all the stuff that you took? Got you. All right, go ahead and put your hands behind your back. I will start walking to my car now. You're going to be detained at the moment and so we'll be able to go back to CVS, all right? Do you have anything on you that I should be worried about? No? No. All right, I'll pat you down with the back of my I'll take this from you. Thank you. You took this from CVS, too? No, that's used and abused. While one suspect cooperated, the other took a different approach. Instead of owning up and accepting her punishment, she doubled down and tried to lie her way out of it. You didn't take nothing? So if I open you weren't in there? Exactly what happened. Yeah? So who did you go in with? I went by myself. Oh, you went in by yourself? >> Yeah. Okay. Uh well, what do you have in your bag? Um It's empty. Just three items. Three items? Okay, and where are these three items from? They're From where? CVS. Okay. I thought you said you were that you didn't take anything. All right, well, just three items. I did. Okay, Hey, at the end of the day you still took something. All right, no. I did. going to put that right here. What about Orange Gel? Orange Gel? It's astonishing that she actually believed she could lie straight to the officer's face while standing there with a bag full of stolen goods. In her mind, taking only three items somehow made her immune to the law. The painter, she has stuff there, too. No. Yeah, look at the painter. No, I didn't. What do you mean, no? What do you mean, I didn't take anything? I didn't take anything. No, no, no, no. Stop resisting. You don't need that. You don't need that. You have stuff that you took from What do you mean? Look, no, you can look. Stop. Stop. Stop. I was at the register. Stop. Stop, or we're going to go down TO THE GROUND. STOP, OR WE'RE GOING TO GO DOWN TO THE GROUND. It's your fault. We're going to go down to the ground. It's your fault. I was at the It's your fault. No, I didn't. Look, I was at the register. I paid. I didn't Stop resisting. Stop resisting. I was at the register, but I didn't take anything. You have property that consists of CVS, and CVS called two of us matching the description. So, I got told you at the beginning, you are being detained for possible shoplifting, okay? Okay. So, what? Did they say Did they say what? Is he detained, too? He is detained at the moment, yeah. He's been He's been cool with us, so he's not going He hasn't been in handcuffs yet. All right, but look at it. I didn't I have one in my vehicle that also had all that bag full of shampoos and everything like that. And then she had this bag which also consists of shampoos from CVS. I was at the register. I was going to pay my car guy the money. Okay. Can I speak to you, please? Okay, so, uh, we do have them, right? Um, the female had the three shampoos. No, she got my company. No, I'm I'm saying the one in the [laughter] in the bag, yeah. I'm not sure about the other one, but are you guys willing to sign complaints, or yeah? Okay, so, I'm going to need you to come do a show-up. Are Are you able to identify the people that took the items? Okay. The officer quietly escorted the store employee to his patrol car so that the suspect couldn't see her. Once inside the car, he asked the worker if she recognized the suspect they had [music] detained. With absolutely no hesitation, she confirmed it was the woman she'd seen shoplifting. All right, you're going down for shoplifting. Why? I didn't I didn't I didn't I didn't say I didn't say I didn't want to hear my phone. All right, I'll get it for you. Hey Ramos, they're willing to proceed with charges, right? >> What charges? They what? I didn't see the All right, have a seat. All my personal things. Have a seat. But all my personal Have a seat. Have a seat. Okay, don't Have a seat. Thank you. You are under arrest, okay? They want to proceed with charges. For what? What? You made admissions that you took the I don't know what I'm being charged with. I didn't do anything. For what? They're just little things. It doesn't matter. That doesn't justify you being able to steal them just cuz they're just little things. Stealing is stealing at the end of the day. For what? All of this is for my step father. This is for you and your daughter. Well, that's your problem. Here, look that way. I know it is. Look that way. Positive ID. Wearing a white shirt and blue pants. All right, so at this time you will be going you will be placing custody. You will be going to jail for shoplifting, okay? Finally, the officers asked the employee to look at the male suspect. Unlike the two women, she didn't recognize him as one of the shoplifters, so he was free to go. Only these two? These two. I haven't checked the other bag. Hey, uh so you're going to do two sep- two separate transactions. I'm not sure if you're aware. Uh so the Aldi's bag is going to be the girl that I have, and then the rest of the bags that have merchandise going to be for the other girl. Cuz you're going to charge them whatever the amount is. Okay, cool. You got me? So, just do two separate transactions and then whatever comes out to then it's decides what you what you do. Yeah, we got you. All right. You guys like plates or anything? Um let's see. I mean depending on the amount, it's the misdemeanor. Uh yeah, anything over 300 is a felony, under 300 is a misdemeanor. The officers needed to figure out exactly how much each woman had stolen. The total value would determine just how serious their charges and punishment would be. With the bags in hand, the officer made his way back into the store to have all the items scanned. I'm going to just put this stuff over here. So, >> [snorts] >> this one is a separate one. And these two are together. Both women were charged with shoplifting. They were taken to jail, processed, and then released. On August 11th, 2025, a known shoplifter named Tara was caught the day after she stole more than $800 worth of merchandise from Meyer. She already had multiple warrants for her arrest. Here on surveillance a couple weeks ago, I think it Hold on, David. What? Cuz right there is There was like I took that picture where cuz I was on break like I am now, and then I watched she she had one of those self-checkout carts. And pushed it right on out the door. >> what she usually does, yeah. >> Yeah. And then so I I and then she started me out, and so I I got her pictures and right there I did I only got the backside of her. Good deal. But, yeah. Yeah, I would let Janowa know. We We know them cuz they steal from the Myer lot, so then we got a We saw that they were coming over here. That's why we Okay. When the local police start knowing you on a first name basis, it's probably time to start rethinking your life decisions. After locating Tara's car, the cops began making their way towards it, hoping to catch her off guard. What's going on? Hey, Tamara. Hey. >> You mind stepping out of the vehicle? Oh, finally got caught, huh? You got You got a bunch of warrants. Drop whatever's in your hand. That's fine. You have 1 second. No. No. Stop resisting. Okay. You're not giving her a hug right now. I'm not giving her a hug right now. Do not Stop resisting. STOP YOU ARE UNDER ARREST RIGHT NOW, OKAY? Stop resisting. Okay? Stop resisting, okay? Okay, listen. If If you work with us, we'll work with you, okay? Tara was desperate to hug her daughter before being hauled off in a police car. It could have been an innocent act of affection, or she could have been trying to hand her something. It was not clear. No. With how you're acting, I'm absolutely We're taking you out of this car right now. I'm sorry. If you speak with us without a lawyer present, you can exercise your right at any time, okay? You can answer the I'm sorry. I just wanted to get my daughter home. You understand your rights? You're under arrest, so that's not happening. Okay, so I will I will work with you guys. Can I just get my baby and I will not do nothing? I promise. Okay, listen. Thank you for starting to work with us now, okay? Unfortunately, the jail is not going to allow it though. Do you know Lee Ramos? Yeah, that's him. That's Is that who's inside right now? What's he doing? He ain't doing nothing. He is not. He's not? No. Tara had arrived with a man named Lee. Like her, he had been in and out of prison and was known to the police. >> [music] >> He was still inside the store, completely unaware of the chaos unfolding outside. Do you know Tara? Tara? Yeah. >> Yeah, yeah, I know her. Yeah. You know her? How well do you know her? Uh she's related to a a friend of mine who my sister grew up with. They grew up. Her Her Her Her Her ex-husband. Okay. >> grew up with my young mama life. Okay. Uh what were you doing yesterday? Yesterday? Yeah. I wasn't doing nothing yesterday. Yesterday? Yeah. Is this your car here? Yeah. Okay. You weren't driving it yesterday? No. Who was driving it yesterday? Tara. Tara? Where'd she go? I have no idea. Okay. >> asleep. You were sleeping? Okay. Uh Do you live with Tara? No. You don't? No. She stays with me once in a while. Okay. I I'm just renting a room lately. And I give her a ride here and there. Okay. Okay, so you weren't at the Home Depot yesterday? No. Okay. Were you at the Meijer? No. No? Well, so right now Tara's being arrested cuz uh yesterday she was stealing items from Myer, okay? So, I don't know if you were there. We can't prove that right now. Okay? But, >> HEY, SPEAK UP, DAMN IT. HEY, SPEAK UP, DAMN IT. That's your daughter? I got you. Right now, we got it all on video and photos, all right? It's just the driver we're not able to make out right now. So, She took the car without your permission, is that what you're saying? No, I didn't say without permission. I just took her car. I was passed out. She took the car and tried to get me more charges on her. >> have his phone number? He's He's looking it up right now. Check his cell phone if he was up here yesterday. Okay. Okay. Things come out that he's needs to be honest about it, someone is just fine. If we go through all that work and figure out he was there, he goes to jail. The officers could track the GPS on Lee's phone to find out where he had been the previous day. If his phone traced him back to Myer at the same time Tara had been stealing, [music] it would be enough to charge him. But, if not, they would have nothing to link him to the crime. I mean, I I haven't did anything. I don't know why you guys are harassing me. No, we're not talking about that. We're not talking about that. Nobody's harassing you. Well, I mean, I I don't know why you guys are harassing me. I'm going to come out. I ain't did nothing. Okay, your car was used in a theft yesterday. She's got a bunch of warrants for her arrest. I know I have a schedule of warrants. She's out here screaming. I know she's I want you to calm down. So, that's why we're here. Yeah. That's not harassment. That's us doing our job. >> What did you just get out of jail for? Me? Yeah. Uh I got out for theft. For theft? In a twist that surprised nobody, Lee revealed that he had just gotten out of prison, and for theft no less. But still, he insisted he hadn't been a part of Tara's heist at Myer. Is uh Lee a good friend, boyfriend? Are you okay with your daughter staying with Lee? >> Hey, real quick. I need you to focus in. What do you want? How are we going to take care of your daughter? Who's going to be responsible for it? Were you at Myer yesterday? I think that's Lee right there. >> Myer yesterday? >> That's Lee right there. Huh? You were at Myer yesterday? Why'd you steal all those trading cards and uh Huh? Why'd you steal all the trading cards and stuff from yesterday with the cooler? You don't know? You got warrants for like days. A lot. Four through Delaware County alone. And then the the one that I was going to issue on you tonight. So, that makes five through Delaware County. He's right there. The one that helps you drive and steal. Yeah, you remember when he took Did he take off from officers with you in the car before? So, you remember stealing yesterday from Myer? Yeah. You know how much items you stole? The worth of it? You don't? $800. What'd you do with them? The trading cards and stuff, what did you do with them? Did you sell them? Yeah? Who'd you sell them to? We're not playing this game. We're not playing this game. I have the I've had the AC on all day. While driving her to jail, the officers continued to question her. They wanted to establish if Lee had been involved in the crime as they suspected, but she still wouldn't cooperate. Almost like she was happy to take the full blame and let him walk free. Who was driving yesterday? When? Huh? I know if I talk it's not going to make a difference. I'm still going to jail. So, it's not going to make a difference if I talk or if I don't talk. Like now. I mean, just being an honest human >> to go to jail. Like I'm going to jail anyway. Yeah, but just being an honest human being, maybe they could work something out for you. I don't know. >> Ain't going to work nothing out. I'm going to jail. Yeah, but you're going to jail. >> Yeah, but I'm not going to get out of that anymore. I mean, just like I said, just being a decent human being and being honest for once and trying to change your life around and and doing things, maybe the judge will look at that and say, "Oh, maybe, you know, she's being honest about about stuff now and maybe he'll help help you out with the sentencing." Do you want to tell me? Just so you know, he's saying that you used to take his car while he was passed out and he didn't know where you had it. He didn't say that. Huh? He said what? He said that you took his car while he was passed out. When? Yesterday. I mean, can you look at the other pictures and see? Yeah, but I can't see who's driving. So, that could that could potentially be unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, which is a felony. Right now, you're just looking at a misdemeanor theft. Yeah, multiple. Listen, Tara. No. Just want to give you a heads-up, like everybody up here has your guys' pictures now. Like Kroger just came out about a theft in July 8th or 18th or something. I'm just saying everybody up here is looking for you at this point, so time to find someplace else. Well, I'm not going to do it anymore. I'm done. Well, stopping stopping is the best. I'm done. I get it. I get it. You got a bunch of warrants and all that, so I get it, but I also just want to be up front with you. There are like Yeah. everybody's coming up to me like, "Oh, I know them. I know them." So. Yeah. All righty. Well, actually, we're going to go and try and catch He's driving there. We don't know where he's going. So, we're going to go get him now. So, I hate to see you take the whole rap when he's the one driving you up here, but Can you I mean, you can tell you can tell I'm not the one We We know you're >> that's driving. I understand. I know you're not the one. >> the one, though. No, I There. My job's about not not what I can not what I know, but what I can prove. You can prove it with pictures. I don't have any pictures of him driving. There's pictures of him driving me away. You can see You can't tell him. That's the problem. It's sad how drugs can destroy people. Ultimately, Tara was charged with shoplifting. On February 9th, 2025, officers were called to a Walmart after two women were caught with bags full of stolen merchandise. From the moment police arrived, one woman acted entitled and refused to cooperate as if she was a victim in all of this. So, our officer's going to be down that way in the other entrance. You guys want to come? Yep. We're going here. Cuz I'm telling you to. I'm just checking. You're not free to leave right now, okay? But I scanned everything that I had. Okay. So, how about that ID? That's like three times now. No, I'm cool. I'm going to give him my ID, but I scanned everything that I had and it's right there on the camera. Okay, perfect. Did you see me taking something on camera? Yes, ma'am. Cuz I don't. I've been following you guys for like 2 hours. Seen everything that you've been shoving in those bags. Those Walmart bags? Or um regular grocery bags? The Walmart bags. At least one of the suspects had the sense to comply. Clearly, she realized the situation was already bad enough, so no need to add more fuel to the fire. But, the other woman continued to argue her case as if sheer attitude could magically erase the evidence against her. And then the total of the tally up of everything that was in your cart. If it matches up with your receipt, you'll be good to go. Well, I'm talking to you. I was going that and you can see that I scanned everything that I put in my hand. Did I not? Yes, that's what this is about. This is what this is about. What is it about? The stuff that you guys concealed in the bag. No, not you guys. Cuz you don't got You ain't got nothing on my body, nowhere. And the stuff that was in the bag is the stuff that I paid for. I don't know what to tell you, ma'am. Okay, well then show me. Yeah, like what? $200 for the purchases on your receipt? I don't know how much it was. I just paid for it. Okay. All right. Turn around and put your hands behind your back. Both of you. Arrests like this, quick, simple, and no fuss are way better for both officers and suspects. It's those who argue and resist that often end up with extra charges on their rap sheet. But, the irate suspect seemed determined to pick up those extra charges with the way she acted. Have a seat over here for me. You got a bench. Okay. Turn around and put your hands behind your back for me. Cuz I want to see what's on Keep going. Don't Don't do this. Can I Can I see what's on the camera? Because I didn't take anything. Okay. Can you Don't. I'm not going to be rough with you. Turn around and put your hands behind your back, okay? But, I want to see what's on the camera. >> cool with you the whole time. I could have had you I could have had you handcuffed from the moment I seen you, okay? >> But, I didn't take anything. >> You had $700 worth of items in your cart and your receipt was for $200. You were pushing the cart out. Yes. Put your hands behind your back. Don't don't grab me like that. I'm going to grab you. You You think you're free to go. You're not free to go. Well, okay, I know that. >> Put your hands behind your back. I'm not trying to be rough. Let me put my hands behind my back. Then put it back there. Let Let my arm go. Put your hand behind your back. Thank you. Well, you're not welcome. That's okay. They're going to contact the lawyers. Everything I scanned, I paid for it. And that is on camera. And you ain't got me on camera saying So often, the moment a criminal gets caught red-handed, they scream about how they're going to call their lawyer. It's a last-ditch attempt to sound powerful. But let's be honest, nine times out of 10, they don't have a personal lawyer on speed dial. At least, not in the way they pretend. They're taking us to jail. And I ain't got them on me on camera taking them out of the store. But they can't show me nothing on the camera. And only thing they got on me right is a damn some earrings. 22 on 2. That they took off of her. I got to go all the way to the other end. You want to take one out? You want to take them all out? Okay. Can you refund me my money, please? It doesn't matter. Because I paid $40 for my items. All right. Come with me. You got anything else on you besides just your cell phone? Yes. What else you got? Um it's in my bra. What is Okay. >> I'm sorry. Look, look. I'm not going to go in there and get that. I just don't want to do that. I don't want everyone to I understand that. Okay. Anything I guess what I'm getting to is anything that's going to poke me, stab me, anything like that. Okay. She told the officers she'd only taken one pair of earrings, but it had already come out that she'd had far more items stashed away in her bra. Maybe that's why she had been so compliant. She must have known the officers would find them eventually. The other lady just advised me that she has a bunch of stuff in her bra's as well. So I I mean Scroggins is going to have to come out regardless. Yeah, I mean that's what I was going to do. I mean I've never I've never had a female have something hidden in her bra, so I was going to ask you. Okay. Um So retail have to over for her. I don't know what she all has in her bra though, so I don't know if it'll end up being over or under. So what's going to end up happening is I'm going to have to get a female officer out here. More or less I was reading you this because I I'm trying to figure out what you have in your bra. You already admitted to having things in there, but you don't want to talk to me, so the female officer will come. So you Okay, so let me re let me re-ask this. After I read you your rights, do you understand them? Having those rights in mind, will you talk to me? Okay. Okay. So what do you have in your bra? Cosmetic products. How how much are we talking in here? Like how many items are we talking? Okay. A lot? Ten More than 10? Probably. Okay. Both women were charged with felony retail theft. Once officers tallied everything up, they confirmed that the pair had stolen more than $700 worth of merchandise. On May 31st, 2025, police were called to a CVS in Las Cruces, New Mexico after a heavily intoxicated man tried to steal more alcohol. The suspect, Vaughn, had been threatening the staff, and when the cops showed up, he only became more furious and out of control. Hey, put that [ __ ] down. Put it down. Put it down. Put it down. Put it down. Put it down. What's that? Put it down. Put it down. >> for nothing. Put it Dude, I did nothing to you. >> Put it down. Hit me for what? Put it down. Oh, yeah, he's an idiot. Somehow, Von barely even flinched when the taser hit him. Most people instantly drop to the ground screaming under the full body jolt that seizes every muscle. But him, he just stood there still talking like it was just a mild sting. You did that to me. Hey, I'm already down. Come on, I'm down. I'm on the ground. I'm down. Just that [ __ ] Yep. Dude, I had nothing. I [snorts] already have to call the ambulance. I told you guys. When I came IN, I TOLD YOU I HAD NOTHING. You had a bottle trying to hit this guy. And you threw it at me. And even after I shot the taser at you, you still held the bottle up. Ask what he said. It doesn't matter what he said. I said >> really, bro? And then that bottle that you took out there? Someone called his homies. Okay, someone called his homies. This right when the sun came up. Negative 133. Someone I'm looking at it. Yeah, I'm looking at you, bro. Did you not hear them? Hear what? What I hear? Hey you're on boy stop. What's your name bro? We need We need to trespass you. What's your name? What's your name? Who the hell is asking? I'm asking you. Who's asking? Me. So you're going to get trespassed from here and you're also going to get charged today for what just happened, okay? So you want to pick up another charge for concealing? You can pick up another charge. first first offense charge? You had a bottle in the door. I had a bottle of No. Dude, this started early this morning before the sun started. Listen to me. [laughter] Sir, please listen to me. Let's just take him to the unit. Cuz no one listens to me. It was obvious he wasn't in his right mind, especially with the bizarre statements he kept coming up with. He couldn't even get himself off the ground, forcing the officers to lift him to his feet. You guys don't even know what my feet look like. Oh, stop. No, we're going to go over here. Stop. Stop. Please. Please. PLEASE. PLEASE. I'M ASKING YOU. PLEASE. SIT DOWN. GET OFF YOUR FEET. You mother Get in there. All right, I know you. Only look at my mother Go. I don't care about YOUR FEET. GO. I DO. WELL, if you didn't act a fool, this wouldn't have happened. Get up. Stand up. Let's do it right. Who you feeding? Hey brother, our feet. All right, your feet. >> They're up. DUDE, THEY'RE UP. They're Get up, dude. over here. You mother Soon after, the paramedics arrived to carry out a medical evaluation. You're a boss. I'll kill Oh, okay. Hey. Good morning. Yeah. Hey, these are the paramedics. Chill out. They're trying to help. You. Huh? Do you want us to check your vitals? Your vitals? >> Yeah, yeah, if you guys can. I mean, unless it's So, put the backboard Yeah, sure. It's uh it should be open, sir. No, no, no, no. Hey, chill out, dude. We're just trying to get your vitals. That's it. Oh, he's still got barbs on him, don't he? Yeah. You want us to pull them? Uh hey, was this just one good connect or one barb? Yeah, the first one it was just one. The second one I think it was just one, too. I don't think the second one went deep, either. Cuz he has like one. So, I know the first time that I I hit him, there was one stuck in his stomach and then one fell off to the floor. Did you pull the one in the stomach or what? No, it's still there. There were still two barbs stuck in Von's skin. One in his stomach and another near his groin from being tased twice. The paramedics had to remove them before they could carry out the necessary checks and assess whether he could be medically cleared for jail. Nothing else that was stuck? All right, let's see if he's up. It's got some blood on it, so Okay. I can toss it if you need me to or if it's Uh credentials or whatever. Somebody take him out from the front. Oh. Stand up, man. Yeah, well, I'm trying to see how we can pull him out. I think we should >> [screaming] >> Probably Well, now he's got his feet. >> [screaming] >> It's here, like we're going to have to take him out and get him like possibly facing Can you turn him? Huh? Can you turn him? Cuz see if you could just drag him out like by his shoulders. The officers decided to transport him to the hospital, but first they needed to move him into a different unit to make that happen. It should have been a simple transfer, but Vaughn seemed determined to make it as difficult as possible. Hey. Hey, we're going to take you to the hospital, dude. Okay? We got to make sure that We got to We got to make sure that you're okay. Hey, did you take any Are you under the influence of any drugs or anything that we need to know about? You're not in trouble for it. Do you Do you do meth or anything like that? What? Are you on Are you >> What? That's the question, dude. >> Just so you Just so you know, Vaughn. God. Whatever Hey. Hey, whatever happened prior to this, it doesn't matter. Okay? We got to make sure that We got to make sure that we get you some medical care. Okay? That's our only concern at this point. Hey, cut it out. No, you don't. Vaughn, hey. Let's Let's be adults, dude. Yeah, let's be adults. You You right now you're acting like a kid. Let's Let's come on. [ __ ] you, man. No, thank you. Can you just act appropriately? No. [ __ ] you. >> You understand that Okay. >> the more the more ridiculous you act [ __ ] you, man. You know that the public they they have access to our videos. You're just going to make a Come on. >> out of yourself. Let's just go to the hospital. Get you fixed up. Get you patched up. Get you sobered up. Okay. Okay? That's all we want. That's all we want, Vaughn. But we we done we got to make sure that that okay, make sure that heart's okay, make sure that you're hydrated. How much have you had to drink today? Um Did you have a Did you drink that fifth of of Maker's Mark? Is that how much you drank? Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's pretty strong stuff. Maker's Mark bourbon clocks in at about 45% alcohol, and Vaughn had polished off a whole bottle, but he wouldn't tell the officer how long ago he downed it. Can you sit up, buddy? Oh my god. Dead for real. What's that? Dead for real. Dead for real? Oh my All right, Vaughn. What? Do you want to go headfirst this way, or do you want to go feetfirst? No. Which way? That's not an option. Oh my god. >> one of two options. You can come out this way towards me, or you can go >> [screaming] >> Why are you screaming like that? All right, we're going to pull you out from your feet over there, okay? If you kick my officers, it's going to be a very bad day for you. Hey, what the What the No, you. HEY, WHAT THE PUT YOUR FEET DOWN. HEY, if I'm going to go with you, I got to hold you. What the You need to get over here to this car over here, man. You want to take me over there? Cuz I mean, I You can fit him in there. Can you stand up on your own? Come on, Don. Let's just try my way first. Let's go, hey, Vaughn. You got to stand up, dude. Do you Do you have a vehicle here? Stop. Stop. No. No. What the Hey, CALM DOWN, DUDE. STOP! [screaming] WALK THAT WAY. >> [screaming] >> WHAT THE HEY, EVERYBODY. There you go. After calling his mom, the officers learned that Vaughn was an alcoholic who had recently relapsed. Eventually, they got him into the other squad car so he could be transported to the hospital. There, he would be checked to see if he was medically stable and fit for detention. Mr. John Doe, can you step out for me? Who are you? Officer McDivitt, LCPD. LET'S GO. >> [screaming] >> COME ON, DUDE. LET'S GO. [crying] WE'RE NOT GOING TO GET >> [screaming] >> LET'S GO. COME ON. GO. IF YOU FALL, YOU'RE GOING TO FALL HARD, OKAY? I'm not here to pick you up. You. Listen, we're in a hospital right now. So, you got to stop. Stop. You. What do you want to do? Fight? Yeah, I guess. He We're taking him for uh shoplifting, uh assault on a police officer, battery on a piece of police officer, and then Yeah, I'm going to find out. And you guys will find out like a bunch of Mickey Mouse. So, we don't know how much he was drinking and how much he drank. Vaughn was charged with resisting an officer and assaulting a peace officer. The resisting arrest charge was dismissed. He entered a deferral program where the charges will eventually be dismissed as long as he complies with the court On July 26th, 2025, police were called to a Kohl's in Aurora, Illinois after staff reported a major retail theft. The two suspects, Milagros and Marcos, had stolen more than $4,500 worth of makeup. And as soon as the pressure was applied, the pair quickly turned against each other. Hi. Do you know why we might be here? Uh-huh. Okay. Um you're on camera taking stuff, okay? I think I'm good. That's fine. Uh I didn't say anything was going on right now. Can you go talk to my partner over here for 1 second? Over here. What's up, man? You good? Can you step out? Yes. You just got to Okay. Do you know why we might be trying to talk to you? No. Okay. Please don't try to play dumb. I didn't do I called for everything, okay? Do you know why we might be going to call them? No. Okay. Were you trying to take stuff from Kohl's? No. I didn't have a wallet, that's why I told them. I only had cash, and I only had $6. So, what What do you mean by that? I just put gloves on when I talk to you, but don't worry about what I'm doing right now, okay? So, what do you mean you only had $6? Cuz I was going to buy me something, but I didn't have no money. So, did you put it back? Yeah. Milagros insisted she hadn't stolen anything, even claiming she only had $6 in her pocket. According to her, she ditched the cart in the store the moment she realized she couldn't pay. But what Milagros didn't know was that officers had already watched the camera footage. You just stole from Kohl's, man. I didn't steal nothing. I might not lie. I didn't take nothing. I didn't steal nothing. Okay. I was just with my friend. Who's your friend? Her. You're not going to be on camera taking anything. No. No. I I didn't steal nothing. I didn't steal nothing. All right. Yeah. Okay. I'm just trying to be transparent with you. I already know what happened. Uh so, I'm trying to have you just be honest with me. I I didn't steal nothing. I don't walk out with nothing. I didn't take nothing. Were you putting stuff in anything? No. No, you didn't grab anything off the counters or any clothes or anything? No. Marcos clearly had no intention of admitting anything. So, they turned again to Milagros. Hey, what did you take from inside? Nothing. I put it back. I don't have cash. I only have $6. So, nothing in that car that was from Kohl's. Cuz we're going to check. Just let you know. It's not my car, so you can't search the car. Okay. There's nothing in that car from Kohl's. You can look at each other all you want. We're going to end up figuring out and we see that we have the cameras. So, I I rather have you be honest with me so I can make this process easier and we can get this over with, all right? So, Y'all do what you got to do. But what But once we do find out, then we're going to make sure that I'm going to take this investigation to the fullest of its extent. It's all good. I'm just going to I'm going to go go ahead with the I'm going to go talk to Kohl's. I'm going to watch the video again cuz I already saw half of it, but I'm watching it again and then we'll figure it out. I just want to tell him. That's what I'm telling you. All right, what do you want to tell me? This in the car. You want to tell him what's in >> back. It's got sheets. It's the stuff she took. I didn't take nothing. I didn't walk out with nothing. What did you take? This myth. Finally, Milagros cracked and admitted to taking the items. But Marcos doubled down on his denial. Within moments, they started to turn on each other in [music] a desperate attempt to avoid punishment. How do we pronounce your first name? Milagros. Milagros? Okay. So, remember when I said they have amazing cameras? Okay, you're on camera leaving. With the bag, okay? Is that the bag in the passenger seat over there in the back seat? Yeah, it's in Okay. I'm going to grab that, okay? No, no, I didn't say you. I'm going to grab it, okay? It's in the car. >> We're going to figure out what's going to happen. We'll let you guys know what we're going to We'll let you guys in. We'll let you guys whatever the case is, so And then we got to also see what Cole wants to do with it, too. >> [snorts] >> Marcos pleaded with Milagros to confess to the crime and take the blame. He even brought up his son as emotional leverage, but neither were strangers to a jail cell. Milagros was already on probation for a separate crime, while Marcos was on parole in Chicago. I have my son. My son's birthday is in September. I have my children and my wife and my son next to me. No, she's on the phone, but it's Maybe I'll let you tell me what you want to tell me first, but But I didn't walk out with nothing. I'm on parole, but I didn't even get off in September. I'm on because I I'm on today's journey. I'm not going to see my son so I want to Come on, you know this is what this is. I know it's going to be I'm going to sit 2 years. It's going to be a whole different It's a different county. They have to go to court. You're on You're on probation. They're not going to release me. I don't know. I'm not sure how much it takes. It was a lot, but So what usually happens if you're on probation and they call you? [snorts] It's Everybody has a different case. They're just going to send me. They're not going to release me. I got to sit 2 years, Marcos. This is secondary probation. That means I got to sit 2 years after It doesn't matter what you guys who wants to take charge, who does it. We're going to watch the cameras and if both of you guys did it, both of you guys come in. One of you guys did it, one of you guys come in. It don't matter what y'all I mean whatever y'all discussing right now don't really matter. I was I was I was in the car with her, but I wasn't like hitting her up. Is it going to watch the cameras and then we're going to see what happens. If a person gets arrested while on parole, it can be revoked on the spot, sending them back to prison to finish their original sentence, plus whatever new charges they face. And if they're on probation, an arrest can trigger a violation, leaving their fate in the hands of a judge. Okay, I'll bring you back. No, cuz you're technically in custody, so I'm hanging you up once we're done with this. Cuz you're going to jail. You're under arrest. I don't know who's going to be arrested. I I have no idea who's being arrested other than you. I just got here, so. >> [laughter] >> If you're on probation for another county, how does that work? I don't know. You have to contact your county. For shoplifting? Yeah, but like doing the same thing, helping them, I violated again. Who's looking at you though? My brother. Well, like my Which one is it? Which one is it though? Like that dude over there with the brother. He keeps staring at me cuz he said I'm on parole. The one in the black or the blue? The blue. He said I'm on parole. My son's with me. But it's just like, okay, you get off this year. I won't be seeing the Well, have you ever been arrested before for retail theft other than the previous case that you're fighting in Cook County? >> [snorts] >> Yeah, that's that's the case I'm fighting. I know, but other than that one. No, those are all my cases. All of them are like I've been arrested twice. Mhm. Twice for retail theft. Yeah, three times retail theft. So, what is this time? Turn around. For James, ring your bell. You're on video doing it, okay? I wasn't I wasn't messing with you when I said they have the best cameras, okay? I I told you I was I had packages, but you could see I was Right, but you said one thing and I counted at least four or five, okay? See, see [clears throat] that's how I don't like it. See how he's arresting him now? The whole time this could have been You arrested both of us. We're both under arrest. Don't do that. That's why I do not don't that. >> I yeah, I That makes no sense. >> I'm not the one you. You treat everybody the same way even if they're arrested or not. Tell me not. You treat everybody the same way. You get it. I'm getting handcuffed, he's getting handcuffed. You don't just handcuff me first. I don't even like that cop. That cop needs to get away from me cuz I'm going to tell him he's very racist. He's very female against cuz we arrested him last. All right, do you know the value of the stuff? Like 4,500. But they're making They're charging both of us with it. I'm going to have to ask him, but fast. >> I know, but there's no way you could be letting her keep making complaints this whole time like Yeah, I know. I I tried to tell them, but at the end of the day, it's it's whatever was on camera and they going to they going to figure it out. But that's not what I was talking about. Look, you know, on camera, it does show him driving the four five pieces, you know? Both Milagros and Marcos were charged with felony retail theft with the total value of stolen items far exceeding Illinois's $300 threshold. For Milagros, it was her third time being arrested for retail theft. On April 19th, 2024, undercover officers at Premium Outlets in Orlando, Florida spotted three women working together in a shoplifting heist. Let's make contact when they when they heading out. All right. We're moving to contact. The one with the black shirt? >> [laughter] >> I'm 10-4. Hey. Ma'am, come here. What happened? I don't have anything. Come on. Let's go. I don't have anything, sir. What What do you mean you don't have anything? >> know what What else could you be grabbing me for? >> Okay. Give me your phone. My phone for what? >> phone. Listen to him. You're being detained for a theft investigation. So, just comply. Just comply. Just comply. You're being detained for a theft investigation. I need the phone. I want to call my job. Okay. Let's turn around. Go over Go over got her. I got her. You have ID on you? Uh not in this bag. I don't think so. No. In this bag you don't have ID? >> No, it's in the car. In the car? Yeah. I don't have any change. I got one. Before the officer had said anything, she jumped on the defensive, immediately insisting she hadn't taken anything. If that doesn't scream guilty, then I don't know what does. All right. What happened? I just detained her for a second investigation. Oh, okay. Stop. Stop. Give me your phone. All right. So, we're about to sign her up. I think you got off with your change. Yeah, let's go ahead and my car is out here. Where where is your car at? Wait, on the other side. Okay, let's go over here to our car. Hey Josh, that's 10-4. Meet me in front of the T-Mobile booth in the front. >> [laughter] >> She needs to be searched. Yeah, all all of them. Do you have your citizen card? I'm going to bag off her wrist for now. Is that her purse? Even while standing there, hands bound up in handcuffs, a spectacle for passersby, they didn't look sorry or embarrassed for that matter. In fact, while being searched, one of them almost looked [music] like she was smirking, like it was all just a big game. Step up here. You going to listen to the officer's direction. She got to go. We're going to lean up against the car, okay? We'll see you later, buddy. Hey, just Just hang it by the car. It's kind of hot. Yeah, the car is sticking to me. That's why. Obviously, their day of thievery hadn't been spontaneous. They'd planned it. They even came armed with a magnet to pull off security tags attached to the items they planned to steal. Can I ask you a few questions? All I need is a verbal yes or no. Yeah. All right. So, you have the right to remain silent. Do you understand? Yeah. Everything you say may be used against you in court. Do you understand? Yeah. Read your rights. Do you want to talk to me about today? Do I want to what? Do you want to answer some questions I have for you about today? Um I'm going to need what I asked you. Huh? No, not name. Address. All right. So, you don't want to talk to me? Huh? So, you don't want to talk to me? Okay. Speak to you first. All right. So, I'll ask you some questions. How long you guys been here now? You have the right to remain silent, do you understand? Huh? You have the right to remain silent, do you understand? >> Yes. Okay. Anything you say may be used against you in court, do you understand? Yes. You have the right to talk to a lawyer before and during questioning, do you understand? Yes. All right. So, after I read you your rights, do you want to speak to me about today? No. Okay. You want to get out of here with us? Yeah. I'll be right there. I'll go on the other side. Neither of the two suspects had given the officer so much as a sentence the moment he started asking questions. So, in one last effort, he turned to the third suspect hoping she might be more forthcoming with information. All right. So, is anything you say going to be used to people? You have the right to remain remain silent, do you understand? Are you going to verbally answer me? Verbally yes or no? Yes. Okay. Anything you say may be used against you in court, do you understand? Yes. You have the right to talk to a lawyer before and during questioning, do you understand? Yes. So, after I read you your rights, do you want to speak to me about today? Just a few questions I have. It's up to you. You said you have a few questions? >> a few questions. Microphone on or off? Huh? Microphone on or off? On. Yes or no? No. You don't want to talk to me? You just want to talk before or after you ask the question? Huh? Before or after you ask the question? >> Whatever you want to do. So, if you hear my question, I'll ask my question, you can choose to answer or not. I want to hear your question. So, you agree to that? Yes. All right. Okay. So, what what did you guys go to the store today for? Nothing. For nothing? Okay, so why are we here right now? And why was there a magnet in your pocket? You don't like my questions? Are you Are you done with my questions? Okay. You can sit back. They were charged with grand theft retail charges, and for the two caught with magnetic devices, an added charge of possession of an anti-shoplifting device was added.
