What the >> Jesus? She bit an officer, thrashed like a wild animal, and couldn't even stand straight. Yet somehow survived the crash that killed an innocent man. Zero brakes, full speed into a stopped truck at dawn. This wasn't bad luck. This was a walking disaster who decided the road was hers alone. >> She bang her head up at all. >> There was no kid. >> Let go. >> There was a car seat in that one. As far as I from what I was told, no. She was talking about losing her kids. Let go. She was talking about losing her kids or something. Roll over. Sit up. I didn't even know she was the driver. She was on the ground. I thought she was in that truck or something. >> Boyfriend of a witness said she attacked him too before cops even got there. Classic chaos magnet. She kept mumbling nonsense while medics worked on the man she had just murdered. Always the murderer who survives the accident, leaving the good ones dead and the guilty ones breathing. They said that she was fighting with them and then I grabbed a hold of her and she said my kids they're >> she died. She was out fighting and stuff. >> Yeah, sheing bit me. >> I just slam her into the ground. >> Are they all set with her? Her reaction, zero remorse, zero grasp of reality, just another entitled drunk who survived because physics hates the innocent. While man's wife's reaction was absolutely heartbreaking, a piece of her died forever in that moment. >> Yes. >> Hi, I'm Detective Akavetti with Warren Police Department. This is Sergeant Fazic. >> Yes. >> Can we come in and speak with you for a minute? >> Okay. >> Is anybody else here? >> Okay. What's his name? >> Chris. >> Christopher. >> Yes. >> Okay. In your room. It's about >> I can I imagine >> we can get up >> to the left on my dresser nightstand. >> I'm sorry. >> What happened? He went to work. He went to work. I didn't see him this morning this morning. I usually see him in the morning. What happened? Are you kidding me? Are you sure? >> It was a traffic accident. He was in his truck and someone struck him. You have a son and daughter. >> This is a lie. I can't believe this. [snorts] >> You have a son and daughter? >> Son. son and daughter. >> I have two sons and a daughter. We just went through a transplant with my son. [snorts] My little granddaughter's got autism her baby. Oh god, she lost a baby last year. This is just too much for me. >> What's going on? >> What's wrong with dad? Which one? Oh my. What? What happened? >> Somebody killed him. >> It's a traffic accident. [laughter] [gasps] >> Oh my god. >> Where's in Warren? We're from Warren Police Department. It was 13 like the Quinder. I'm sorry, not Dwinder. Mound in Chicago. >> I'm pretty pretty sure it happened on the way to to work this morning for him. >> Red line. family revealed he delayed retirement to cover his son's transplant bills, was Christmas shopping the night before, and never made it home. That poor woman, she just lost a grandbaby a year prior, and now her husband. This family deserve none of this pain. >> You think he was at a red light >> from behind? >> It happens all the time in W. I live in W. >> Are you Chris? >> Yeah, Chris. Okay, I'm detective Atti or Lauren. I'm so sorry. You want to step in the garage or something [snorts] where you're comfortable, man. >> I know. I know. I've actually been through what you're going through and I I'm I'm here for you, man. I I'll talk to you if you want to. No, no. Uh not not what we see right now. It's It's obviously under investigation. I'm here with you guys as as soon as I can. So, I'm I'm still doing this. Everything we found out this morning, it doesn't look like it was. >> I talked to him this morning. >> What time did you speak with him? >> [ __ ] like 6:37. He was shopping for Christmas >> yesterday. No, this morning. I wish that people could see how easy it is to to destroy a family, man. This family, man, you want to talk about going through like this whole family is just like gone through like crazy. And I just man, >> well, no, the transplant's already done. So, the crazy thing is he worked GM longer than he wanted to because of his son's transplant. So, you know, but no, I I get what you're saying, you know, like >> I mean, it's not a good thing. >> Well, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's an honest opinion, you know. I mean, maybe there's a purpose. You know what I mean? Yeah. >> Um, >> no. I like some people frown on that, but no, I I think of that, too. It's like there's there's, you know, there's always a purpose. There's I I try to find the reasons and purposes and everything, but man, it's like, man, you know, just really hits you, man. It really hits you. >> Want to sit in that blue chair? >> Might be a little bit more comfy than that one. >> Detectives broke the news to his wife, and the screams still echo. Pure devastation for a man who spent his life providing for everyone else. He was shopping for Christmas. Really broke me. This poor family lost everything because one selfish person thought one drink was fine behind the wheel. >> I'm detective. Okay. >> In charge of the case. I'm going to read you your rights cuz you're in custody. Okay. Does that make sense to you? So, you worked Friday night and uh Saturday morning. What's the last thing you remember then? being at my job and I fell. >> That's all. What do you do at that job? >> Uh, I pack out parts. >> So, what's the last thing you remember? You think you don't remember walking out of the job? >> I don't know. >> Nothing. Do you usually drive yourself to work? >> What kind of car do you have? >> Ford Escape. 2014 Ford Escape Blue. >> The one registered for you though? Yes. >> And do you remember driving that to work? >> Yes. >> But you don't remember leaving? No. >> Is that weird to you or what? >> No, it's not weird. I uh did have a drink with a brand, but I didn't have a lot. So, like I don't understand why I can't remember nothing. >> Where did you have that drink at? >> In the um back of the factory >> at work. So after you had the drink of alcohol, you don't remember anything? >> I remember going back into the plant, but that's all. I don't remember nothing else after that. >> How big was the drink? What would you say? >> I don't remember. He reported it for me. >> Do you know you were involved in a traffic accident? >> Until they told me. >> Okay. Do you think anybody else was in the car with you? >> No. >> You don't remember driving or anything like that? >> Did they tell you? Do you know the results of that traffic accident? You know that someone passed away. >> Christopher And spent 40 years building a life for his family, then lost it in seconds to someone who treated the road like her personal playground. Until drunk driving carries the weight it deserves, good people will keep dying for someone else's one drink. Drive sober or don't drive, because the next red light might be someone's last. Glenn faced serious charges: secondderee murder, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, and assaulting a police officer.
