on April 1st 2024 a police officer received a call from a university student reporting a strong smell of marijuana coming from her room responding to the call the officer was dispatched to investigate the source of the od1 you can't smoke I do you to argue on the phone I said just send cops here I'll be done yes like he was like trying to argue with me okay we'll take we'll we'll address that as well I put up with too much [ __ ] paying this much money out of say to be here upon arrival at the university the officers conducted a search of the hosti systematically checking each area until they reached the room where multiple students resided upon knocking at the door they were confronted by a highly aggressive female student despite her hostile demeanor the officers began their investigation by questioning her okay so um we are because of the laws in Ohio have changed smoking marijuana is technically legal but it is against policy property it's legal it's it is legal but it is against policy so what we can do if you you can go through your ra I've contacted her multiple times this is like the seventh time I can't sleep in a room that smells like this my asthma's way too damn bad so you have gone through your okay multiple times okay and they they have you haven't tried to go like to the RC or anybody like that yes they still done nothing she got moved the last place cuz she did this and so they moved her into my place okay then let's uh we'll we'll send some somebody over there and see if and she hads covered yeah she has her smoke LS covered with plastic bags that's right I told Mar that and her photos and she still have done nothing hello she just H I think she just she did yeah you have her information H you have her information I don't even know her first name she's your roommate and she's just in here smoking weed and stuff sit here every what's your name I don't know her name I have to go on my stor thing they just put her in B room cuz she got kicked out a place for smoking wish the be on this floor all the way down there she doesn't do [ __ ] she doesn't what she doesn't do [ __ ] all right well I'll let her know what room is know what room is it was on it she stole my on my she stole my eyeball in VI one spring break I left it in my dorm and uspd did not the female remained uncooperative throughout the interaction she continuously argued with the officer demanding to know the reason behind what she perceived as a disturbing and unwarranted investigation her persistent questioning and Defiance made it challenging for the officer to proceed with the inquiry did you call us to make a report yes I made a report I had make a report so I can get back France had to pay $500 at a [ __ ] 8 more M turn in okay let me get that down she's not even a stupid she has a blue ash and she doesn't go to class I don't get point of having people in housing don't do [ __ ] okay Ashley can I take a picture of your U ID I'm just going to attach you to it yeah she had all of our fcking hold on the photo she all of our fireplaces with plastic baggies and I took it down okay she put it back up i s This and like checked the rooms and she saw that and she still did not do sh about okay can you send that photo to us yeah if you could send that photo to my email that'll be great what your email a n d e r when did she move into your your dorm um the middle of February middle of February okay and then like every day it's been reur the first I had to get a hotel last week cuz I literally could not sleep in there like my I'm in this like place cuz myand said that mhm and so I had to get M how to pay for a hotel last week so I can sleep in my door so I actually sleep for all my Des last week want I'm should on fa that she already for me to stay here yeah exactly yeah it's [ __ ] stupid the female adamantly refused to accept any charges or accusations she was well aware that using drugs inside the hostel was illegal and acknowledging any involvement could lead to severe consequences you guys can sell the weed when I went around the corner as soon as we open the door down there we canell like that every [ __ ] day okay do do the smoke detector still covered in there is it all the smoke detectors in your room not my room it was just here but I took it out but it's still covering her room so she's she's covering up in the common areas and she's covering up in her room okay and then she puts towels right here yeah she just want smoking out of the hallway work it's not Theon call R is coming down okay either way I mean do you want her gone and all her friends gone out of my [ __ ] dorm I paid 2 much to live here yeah is it just her smoking and her friends are coming in with her yes how many friends it depends on the D what's about theight and there's one guy in there one guy none of them are us to speak though she livs 5 minutes away like her actual house is 5 minutes away this her third time moving the dorms did you get her name yeah right so they all smoking together or is it just her alling together and they're not even you see I'm sorry you're going through this thank you don't some my ra doesn't do anything well I just woke her up so I guess whoever the ra that's on call is coming so maybe we can get some results with her yeah all right are they in there right now the people who are't UC students either her or her friend is in there I don't know one of them like ran out cuz they heard me on the buun or both of them so she's in there I think so they get the down they yeah well in not so we Ki those people out phone want to be a smartass and saying we IL legal in Ohio this is federal funded it's not you're not AG 21 you can't smoke I you to argue with on the phone I said just send cops here I'll be done was this yes like he was like trying to argue with me okay we'll take we'll we'll address that as well I put up with too much [ __ ] paying this much money out of state to be here yeah so what about those people to you set you're smoking with can we do something about that kick them out I mean teally allowed to have that'd be more of an RA question because have two guest yeah you're only allowed to have two guests at a time you're noing to say for more than two or 3 days I think right under these circumstances the temporary might tell them to go ahead and get out of here right if they're they're obviously under the age of 21 smoking we here on a feral campus p and get out think we just get her out too while we're at it that's not a unfortunately yeah unfortunately we this advisor of UC policy and tell her you know is going to get set student code start barking up the right channels for you at least talk to housing and get the ball rolling again get my money back to the hotels I just SP last week to live properly in Ohio I wish I'm trying to think of a way that you could do that when the female refused to provide any information other roommates also arrived at the scene the officer then shifted his focus and began questioning them these newly arrived roommates were cooperative and started providing complete information related to the ongoing investigation they shared details about the source of the marijuana smell and any activities that might have contributed to it hotels are not [ __ ] cheap here no you're not St mhm and you said you're taking criminal justice or you're I'm in PR pram the six pretty thank you I see someone with the badg this one some of them that's her B that's her M hopefully something something hello hopefully you can help us resolve this situation apparently it's been ongoing okay she actually has people in there that aren't students right now with another uh roommate apparently they're in there smoking marijuana and apparently she has just came moved in here from another place right here huh oh this is the one that would that you said was smoking marijuana okay and there's people in there I had my not SM well the whole floor smells like around cor like the whole the whole floor smells we smelled it earlier we couldn't pinpoint it um so now it smells stronger you just got home were they in there while you were at work no they provided some small but crucial information about the female and her actions hinting at possible drug use they then encouraged the officer to search the room to uncover any illegal drugs responding to this suggestion a female police officer entered the room and conducted a thorough search during the search she discovered several substances of illegal drugs so when did you get back from work like 2 hours ago when I texted her I needed a charger so if we open that door we can smell marijana in there and that's not from her so who would be sming sming had but we didn't SM I we didn't well that's what I'm asking for he not to lie to us no I it's legal in the City of Ohio but not on the campus grounds no we are on campus grounds but right yes um so what's your name sorry Riley Riley is there someone in there right now don't per okay did they get here she got here so they've been there for 2 hours I just got home from I was on and you just got home all right well can we open the door whoever lives here can we open the door and go in is that allowed yeah I don't care okay just got to make sure you're inviting us in you can I mean this is your room but yeah it I mean it smells very strong like marijuana there too [Music] um so like is there any like thing in the room okay well then I guess this would just be a documentation I will write an IR you guys write your report okay is there anything else that you guys need to do can I get your your very good ide than I mean this is your room as well like we want to make sure this doesn't happen again it's just like that action can't be taking place inside the residence wall you have a picture of it I was getting one I was kind of calling my mom but I just leave CU she ain't answering the phone okay you don't have your ID with you uh okay you know your social security number I know it I'm just going to advise you with do policy you probably already know can't smoke weed in the dorms we know it's legal in Ohio just prohibited on UC campus um we also have pictures of the the um the the fire devices the smoke detectors being covered that is a minor misdemeanor so you can be charged with that we're not going to do any of that now just if you're going to smoke weed take it off campus it's it's also an inconvenience to your neighbor so after returning the female stood outside the room continuously arguing with her roommates and the officers insisting she was not involved in any illegal activities and pretending to be innocent despite her claims the police officer confirmed their suspicion that she was using marijuana based on the evidence found during the search the officer decided to take immediate action and arrested the female she was then transported to the police station for further investigation ensuring that the environment in the hostel remains safe and secure for all residents you guys got everything you need yeah we have all the IDS and then um are you want to leave the building yeah going leave okay then you can walk out with them I'm L you're both okay your personal ra will probably want to follow up with both of you never seen come on mine is a great ra I know she's probably Tred the checking M SLS I'm sure she will try again she okay so why don't you set are do you need anything else from us further oh we need your badge numbers and names for our report but or that works with you you don't think you're putting me at risk right there by saying I call snitch on when I [ __ ] a [ __ ] yeah she took my on she stole it we didn't hear that okay that happen tell the officers I already made food support cuz I had to get more insurance insance would pay for us weay a pocket okay did you make a use like did yes enough cuz the investigator on phone like it's a pain medicine okay I think college students are going to want to matter all over pain medicine so that was stupid for that tigate you see say that to me said what to you he said it's not like it's oxy on flut on campus my myal who was that you get the officer name or is it it's investigator called me because it's concerning if it's marijuana and she's also taking your prescribed medication and it's 70 milligram of 5 it's the highest 5 you can get dirty like it was a full P bottle okay so going for let keep that in your personal room keep your door locked I did my door was locked and when I came home to my door unlocked so I don't know if she went down there like I locked my door every single time when was this break she stayed here okay um did you tell housing or anything like that about the key situation about you coming back to your room unlocked because I've called you guys before I told them about it CU I to come back and give okay she she keeps like getting all of her keys out she like kept them on she never gave them back and she finally just gave them back okay that's course I apologize if you got that kind of response if you're not satisfied with that I would you know advise you to contact the supervisor at the ucpd and if you have a complaint about why somebody's hand on something I would tell you to highly you know encourage you to contact them and see if we can get that resolved that should have happened right yeah elev should happen so yeah you're you know it should nothing should be they should have like compared to oxy Coto yeah it's still I still need a prescription exactly I need my home we to go to class and money and that's that's what I'm telling you is that if you feel like that was wrong I don't know what the conversation was or whatever but I would suggest cont but he just like trying to talk about if like pressing charge is against her she said he's she said he she's like too young and everything so I didn't pressure just CU like she like made me feel bad the phone and wasn't OB go him so it doesn't matter yeah we can that's definitely I think you should definitely revisit ucpd and bring you can change your mind stat limitations they they talk you out but just go back to him you should said that to him telling you talk to the boss and then that way they can address it properly okay we obviously can't cuz we're not in the investigative section yeah okay how many are there three four there's three there's three in supervisor yeah yeah so it should be two part to be too hard to figure out put that like I said if you feel like that's something you want to do I would encourage you to do it it shouldn't happen yeah and then also do you want to stay in this room we're going to get out
