Throughout the conversation, officers remained calm, expressing concern over his dangerous parking on a one-way street and eventually asked him to step out of the vehicle, but without warning, Andrade slammed the truck into gear and sped off, nearly hitting an officer in the process. The incident instantly escalated. Andrade was now wanted for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer. Officers tailed the truck as it tore through intersections, ran red lights, and narrowly missed pedestrians. Is there nothing on the car? No. Is it okay? We try to just make sure. No. No. Okay. The chase ended abruptly when Andrade crashed the vehicle into the front yard of a residence in the 800 block of Ardan Road. He abandoned the wrecked truck and took off on foot, disappearing into the neighborhood's darkened backyards. Police quickly set up a containment perimeter and launched a yard toyard manhunt. During his flight, Andrade forcibly entered two occupied homes, terrifying the residents inside. Here, here, here, here. Ivy, Ivan. Hey, police. K9. Stop here to get bit. Stop here to get bit. Aerial units from the Pasadena Police Department provided visual support as ground teams closed in. Eventually, the fugitive was spotted hiding in the backyard of a home in the 700 block of Oak Null Circle. Police deployed a K9 unit which was the first to make contact with Andrade. Body cam footage reveals officers shouting repeated commands, "Let me see your hands and drop the gun." As the K9 engaged him, Andrade reportedly pulled out a handgun. Officers warned him again and again to drop the weapon, but he refused. Suddenly, gunfire erupted. Multiple shots rang out as Andrade allegedly pointed the weapon. Officers opened fire, striking him multiple times. Immediately after the shooting, officers performed life-saving measures, administering first aid until Pasadena Fire Department paramedics arrived and transported him to a local hospital.
