Officers respond to an elementary school after staff report a man attempting to sign out a student by claiming to be the child's father. When confronted, the actual parents arrive and then state they do not know him. Police say the man refuses to cooperate, becomes agitated, and repeatedly insists the child is his. Staff report earlier attempts to approach the same student on the playground. The suspect claims a misunderstanding and says he was treated aggressively. Officers place him under arrest after continued resistance. He is later charged with attempted kidnapping and resisting arrest. The suspect remains innocent unless proven guilty in court.
