On September 21st, 2023, a woman attacked an elderly passenger at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, spitting on bystanders and striking the victim with a phone. She fled the scene, but officers caught up with her moments later. And that's when things really got out of hand. Loud bang and I guess a younger woman this elderly woman in the face with a phone. Yeah. And the elderly woman's cut on the side of her face. Then the woman went to spit somebody else's face. A bunch of us were trying to contain her. She went back down in the terminal. Both of them were spit on her and then knocked her with a cell phone. Of course, she was in the way. But you can turn this up. She's screaming and yelling at her right here. The suspect, later identified as Charlene Richards, was formerly charged with elder abuse, assault on a first responder, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and vandalism. She now awaits trial for a rampage that left one woman injured, others traumatized, and an entire airport restaurant in disarray.
