In today's body cam video, we'll be joining Florida Fish and Wildlife officers as they conduct a resource inspection on a group of alligator hunters that had recently harvested a gator at the stormwater treatment plant in Palm Beach County, Florida. While conducting the inspection, the officer noted the alligator's eyes were still moving as well as the alligator is still breathing. You pull him out, take him down to the edge and Yeah. Yeah. You pull him out? He's nice though, isn't he? I thought he was All right. Let's do it. Yeah, we'll take him down to the Right there. Yep, he's still breathing. You see him? See how he's breathing right here? And his eyes are opening. That gator is still alive. So just tell me I killed a gator 2 hours later by my own hand. That's true, but you still got to Yeah, yeah. You got to finish him off regardless. Yeah. When you hit him, you hit him on the back and he won't shoot. Yeah, that's just finding him. That's all that is. That gator is unfortunately suffering right now. He's a legal gator. But like I said, that that gator See how he Yeah. All right, on it. You're either going to put it Yeah. right there and inside. Now, you can either bang him or you can take a knife and you can swish it around. Yeah, unfortunately, he's just fined. He's still alive. Oh. I think banging stick is probably the best option. Go for it. Yeah. I'm going to bang All right. Yeah, cut the cut the main one. For those of you uneducated with the only legal way to harvest gators in Florida, let me explain. The man here can be seen holding a bang stick and it works by firing a round upon direct contact with the target with a spring-loaded mechanism and that ensures that it will only go off if firmly pressed against the alligator's skull. He's done now. No, he's done now. That one, he's gone now. Yeah. Now he's And his skull is really not that bad. Any taxidermist can fix that. Oh, yeah. No, they will. All right. All right. Well, who was the original guy who knifed him or banged him? Me. You? Okay. You have your driver's license on you? Okay. All right. I'm going to take over. Okay, you got the tag over there? Okay. So it's it's in lieu of being arrested. Yeah. So it's it's a misdemeanor citation. He could take He could take you to court right now for it. Yeah. Really? And and the silver bracelets, but we're not going to do that right now. We're going to let you keep hunting for the day. And you got kids, you got the family here. I don't think it's right to take the gator, take All right, all right. I appreciate that. I like that you have them out here. It's awesome. Um I'm all about that. So like I said, this won't affect your hunt for the night. It won't affect you. That's you, right? All right. Hold on a second. No, okay. Okay. All right. But even on like on the court date, the request, I have no problem incorporating we did take him, okay, we did it. Finish him off right there. That day, the man was charged with capturing a gator and not dispatching it immediately. And like the officer said, they would have put him in jail that day had they not been with his entire family.
