be following FWC officers as they stop a vessel with four occupants and the vessel appears to be disabled or taking on water this way a little bit on that side not on the other side just this one I guys are not nobody here's 21 you cannot possess alcohol as a minor you guys are miners yes ma okay that's that's a Mis meanor you're gonna have to pay some fines Okay so is it whose alcohol is it okay if if it's everyone's alcohol then everyone gets the misdemeanor are we drifting on the same boat yes okay so everybody's alcohol okay it's Nots not okay okay were you drinking alcohol okay hang on let everything but you're you have a b safety ID card okay you're good you're good you do you are not impaired as far as you cannot drive okay that's my next concern is safety okay we can't have happening um she's going to give you a couple warnings yes um and that goes against nothing it doesn't go on your driver's license it doesn't go points it's no insurance or anything like like that the second thing um I'm going to write a citation for the possession of alcohol yes and again that doesn't go points or anything like that it's just going to be a small fine all right well appreciate is that fair enough yes Fair really appr really appreciate it all right I'm going to ease up again because this this current starting to rip yes sir oh trust me we know we about got back there there's going to be a number at the bottom you can give them a call give it about a week to get in the system especially now that Fourth of July cuz I doubt anybody's going to be at the courthouse anytime soon at least through probably Monday so give it till you know late next week and just tell them you got cited for possession of alcohol and um they may you know allow you to pay for it over the fallone rather than having to go to the courthouse I can't say that's what they're going to do but I've seen them do it before yes all right so and these are warnings okay this is no court date and no F associated with it what this officer is saying is the captain is getting charged with the Mis for alcohol everybody else on the boat okay every else but he'll he'll give you this piece of paper have you sign it and then you'll be able to read it yourself okay what does that mean what does that mean that means so it's it's a Mis meanor to possess it as a minor you're not 21 yet okay you're going to call the number they're probably going to offer you like PTI PR intervention you'll pay some fines and it'll knock off your record as long as you don't have do you have a record you'll pay some fines you'll do what what the judge tells you to do and it'll drop off more than likely that's what I'm saying it sounds like it's a bigger deal than it is it sounds scary that's why we want you to call the number okay that big a deal at all that number there um you've got until you know 812 to contact them um and that's tatlor County Courthouse that's the address but just sign there I'm gonna give you a copy that looks just like it say about a week yeah give it about a week before you call them because it needs to get in the system and right now because it's Fourth of July um obiously yeah well that's a good point think about that said if he does call he have or anything like that if you call that number there's a I I don't want to put any kind of false hopes but chances are um tell them what happened um tell them how many beer you had um and they'll probably what what we call a PTI it's called pre-trial intervention and again that sounds like oh my God I'm going to trial it's not like you're going to trial or anything it's nothing like that um and then you just you basically just pay a fine it's just that the message is possession of alcohol by minors it is a serious offense possession of alcohol or contributing to minor so let's say you were 22 and and they were all underage that's worse than that because now you're contributing so we just want you guys to understand that this is very serious and what we're dealing with out here tonight is going to be a lot of people that are drinking that shouldn't be drinking and people that are drinking too much and operating a vessel when they shouldn't be and I want to reach out to the young group you guys to let you know that this is not the route you want to go for and and when you do become of age and you do have beer on board and that day is going to come make sure you have an operator on the vessel that's not impaired because you will get stopped you will get checked and just like a motor vehicle um where you consent like when you take on the privilege of driving a motor vehicle you automatically consent to a field sobriety test same thing goes with a vessel if you take on the privilege and responsibility of driving a vessel you have you don't have to but you're expected to um uh consent to a field soety test and if you don't you get arrested you go to jail Bui whole n yards Bui the whole nine yards so I just want you guys to know how serious this is yes sir and that's the purpose of this today yes sir really appreciate is that cool all right man y'all have a good one yes sir
