Officers with Florida Fish and Wildlife were on a boat patrolling the Sebastian River when they observed a group of individuals throwing cast nets under a bridge. They watched the group pull up a stringer of fish and placed them into a white cooler. As they motored to the shoreline to drop an officer off, one individual wearing a black shirt was observed walking the cooler to the other side of the bridge. They just tell me where where the cooler is. I can check the fish if they if they're all good then you know then they go. And and just so you know the reason of that, this isn't something typically that we usually fishing violations aren't something typically unless they're super super flagrant. I mean, this one's not this one is flagrant, but even this one, it it's six underside snook over the bag limit, all that kind of stuff, but um a legal method. So, >> last name. >> Um and then, but the issue is is there's no tie to the community. So, it it's one of the misdemeanor exceptions where you can't issue a notice to appear because there's no expectation that this person will appear because there's no tie to the community. >> Okay. >> All right. So, nothing on you. Okay. In the end, the officers recovered six undersized snook with the largest measuring 20 in in total length. The suspect, later identified as a 33-year-old named Ivan, was charged with harvesting undersized snook, harvesting snook by illegal method, exceeding the recreational snook bag limit, excessive possession of a protected fish, and resisting or interfering with a wildlife officer. He bonded out the next day and later plead guilty to harvesting undersized snook, harvesting snook by illegal method, and resisting or interfering with a wildlife officer.
