hey officer tring with Co strings police I stopped for a couple reasons okay um you're going 63 and a 45 here and then over here on Coil Ridge you're following cars too closely weaving into traffic is there a reason why you're doing that can you lower your window more I can't hear you what' you say you're trying to get home is that normally how you drive all right so what's the reason for you driving like that today say that again cuz your mom says she has an appointment so she needs a car or something all right so you have a learner's license so how old are you oh me yeah oh I 17 17 so why you driving without a person who with a license cuz you know the rules right I mean you took your test to get your learner license right so what's the rules okay so correct you need someone over 21 or 21 with a good license so how come you don't that right now okay well just because you're in the process doesn't mean you could just say oh well I'm in the process so I'm just going to do whatever I want today does she have a car seat or no they stole it they stole it all right you have 5% window tint in the rear and can you put your tint up right here and then you have 5% in the front so you guys have limo in okay can't have that and you have a kid that's just standing up in the seat with no there's so she just took her belt off by herself how old is she she's a one-year-old that knows how to take her seat belt on and off that's what you're telling me right now I highly doubt that okay so you have to have a car seat not just strapping with a seat belt all right she probably weighs like 20 not even 20 lbs that's super dangerous someone has to come here right now or else I'm going to tow the car you hear me someone needs to come here now we going to tell the car we're going south on Co Ridge Drive this driver was essentially on my bumper probably less than a car length about a car length away and she's speeding she's weaving into that traffic she passes me we get on to West Atlantic Boulevard which is another roadway here and then as soon as she gets on here she accelerates to a top speed of 63 miles hour she has limit surrounding her entire vehicle she has a baby in the back seat with no child restraint so like no uh car seat or anything like that um she has a learner's license and she can't find her insurance so I'm going to look and see if I can locate the insurance policy but there's just a lot of things going wrong here and I just don't understand why she's rushing to get home cuz her mom needs a car that bad when you're you have a one-year-old in the back seat so if something happens that one-year-old is going to go flying either going to get seriously hurt or killed and that's what we don't need around here so she's putting that kid's life at risk because she wants to be be irresponsible on these roads so I missing you five citations okay speeding careless aggressive driving you're driving with your learner permit which is a violation because you don't have someone with you no proof of insurance and the other one is for I wrote so many that child safy seat oh yeah this the the one-year-old not having the car seat okay as far as these go you have three options you can pay it you can go to traffic school or traffic court But whichever option you choose you have to comply within 30 days okay um obviously we're not going to wait here I'm not Towing your car and I'm not riding you a ticket for the windshield uh I'm sorry not the windshield the window tint okay I could for every single one though that's illegally tinted Florida says I could write you for every single window so this is four right here I could write you for I'm not doing that you need to get the windows sorted out and you need to stop driving on a learner's permit without someone in the car with you because they're supposed to be teaching you how to drive as far as this goes um you she can walk the kid the one-year-old to the gas station using the crosswalk and you guys can wait for a friend over there and I will uh guide you I will walk with you you just wait right here no you can't cuz you're parked in a road I can't just have you sitting on an active Lane all right so I'll be uh I'll walk you to a nearest intersection right or the neighborhood right here you just make a right and the first right you see you can just pull in there and wait there all right but you can't be driving like that especially with a kid in the car like that it's too dangerous okay do you understand everything I just said all right if you want ma'am you can him a warning on that but as far as everything goes um the roads are wet right now so kind of like when Deputy slope was riding with me people have to be super careful when the roads are wet because if you hit the brakes and you slam your brakes because you have to point in an accident or some type of other emergency your car's going to slide or skid and it's actually going to take longer for your vehicle to come to a stop versus if the road was just dry and it wasn't wet so but I'm going to try to speed up for this guy so that he can uh empty his Bells all right I'm issuing a citation for the speed I'm not writing you one for you not changing your license address but you have to do that within 30 days as far as the options go you can pay it you can go to traffic school which is online basically went like Eastbound in the westbound Lane driving the wrong way you can't do that all right you got to make a right turn and then you can go down make a U-turn down there like you're supposed to and you got a kid in the back and she's not even wearing her her seat Bel right did you Buckle her in or her Buckle's not in she's in her car seat and her straps are unbuckled you speak got to figure out now who can help me with translation and um obviously telling her she can't drive without someone in the car that's 21 or older with a valid license hey good how are you good I stopped you cuz you ran the red light I thought it was changing just as I was looking it Chang yeah now it was red for a while but uh you got to follow the rules like a car you got to stop for the red yeah so we're at the light and uh the light's been red for quite some time and he ran the red light he's supposed to follow all the rules as uh as if he was a car he asked to stop for red light stop signs and um stay in the bike lane which he was but he still ran the red light and then he told me that he's been left for dead in the past because he's been involved in some type of crash in the in the past where someone hit him you just got to be super careful because there's a lot of it's not just him that he has to worry about it's other people who temp4 it's other people who have the right of way they have a green light to go through the intersection so like any reasonable person is not expecting a cyclist to just run through a red light and then that's how accidents happen he gets seriously hurt we God forbid killed the other person could get hurt cuz he could go through a windshield hit them if they were going at a pretty fast speed so it's again it's all about safety out here safe man you're welcome so in the past few episodes of traffic Thursdays we've seen a lot of comments where people are asking about the radar noise that the instrument makes and how it works basically what the radar does is this is an antenna right here the radar system is inside the dash somewhere it's all connected um this antenna is shooting out a wave of radio waves and a giant cone and how it works is the instrument is picking up anything that's number one fast and anything that's big so if it's a like a semi TR it'll pick up the speed of the semi TR as the primary target and then the second thing it'll pick up is whoever's going the fastest so even though the the semi- TR is being picked up as the primary target I would say uh the second one which is going to be the fastest vehicle is going to be shown on the display which is on the right here and uh that's how it basically works it just plugs everything into a really really simple equation it says the speed of the target vehicle is equal to the change in frequency this number here divided by the original frequency that I was transmitting at which is 34.7 GHz times the speed of light okay now we're trained to visually observed Vehicles by estimating their speed it's all in the training that state gives us we're supposed to visually estimate the speed as well as uh look at the radar system to confirm that our speed estimate was uh plus or minus two of our estimate so if I see someone and I'm estimating them go 65 mph in my radar display showing that as 67 it's a good estimate so probable cause for the Stop is present a lot of you like we hear right now there's a tone in the background and that's called The Radars audio Doppler tone where the higher you're the faster you're driving or someone's driving the more high pitch that tone will be so right now if you guys can hear that you have cars slowing down so it's going it's it's decreasing the tone but if we're on the highway or something and someone's going 100 miles hour it'll be squealing and that's all part of the radar system as well hey sir are you okay yeah the lady she's not she wouldn't drive she's like texting or something I don't know what she's doing yeah she's going the speed limit though oh my God what's up traffic Thursday oh man me and my son watch you every single night you know better then you know better he gets us bab oh he got you today I hope he does I I can meet them well I wish we could meet on different terms yeah I wasn't speeding but she just wasn't going like yeah I stopped you because of that reason your falling car is too closely well the car in front of you you're falling too closely and then obviously you're using your home improperly you got to be careful okay I was trying to get home and to get your license replaced okay because it's like sun bleached so we stopped this driver because he was falling a car in front of him very closely I'd say definitely less than a car length while he's honking his horn met the driers he's telling me he's only the car in front of him was only going 10 miles hour and that's the reason why he was honking the horn and following cars too closely but that wasn't the case he's a huge fan apparently though traffic Thursdays which is pretty cool but uh he can't be driving like that out here and he knows all right sir I am ising a citation for falling to too closely um I'm not writing you for your defaced license you got to get that updated and uh the ins insurance I saw it on my end but you got to have the current proof Insurance okay perfect
