Thursday, October 23rd, officers with the Key West Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a waterfront business. When officers arrived, they spoke with an employee who said he had met with his girlfriend to end their relationship. During the conversation, she became upset and the situation quickly escalated. Here are the events that unfolded. >> I want you to see what happened. >> So, um, I told her, "Hank, can you bring your petite?" She brought me a feeder light. Uh, we were talking. you know, and I said, "Hey, can we talk about something real quick?" And she said, "Yeah, sure." So, I brought it up. I was like, "Hey, I'm I'm hearing that you're sleeping with other people and this and that." So, I should try to cut it off right there. I was like, "Hey, I don't think we should be together." None of that. So, I'm sitting across the table. She's sitting on this side. And I purposely sat in front of a camera cuz I know how like how she gets. So, I'm sitting by the camera. She gets up. Throws her sandwich at me. Those are Starbucks drink at me. I'm like, "Okay, this is not going to be good." So, like telling her head like, "Hey, like you need to leave. You need to leave. You need to leave. Like, I don't like I'm in a resort. I'm at work. I don't want people to call the police. There's other people here. this and that. So, she chased me up and down the jet ski dock with the hose with the hose trying to spring me down and like wake me up and w my phone up and this and that. I finally get past her onto the actual dock. I was like, "Hey, you need to leave like you need to leave." So, my truck that's my truck right there is parked over on the back backside. She grabs a chair from over here and runs all the way around to go try to bust my truck up with the chair. So, I put my hand up to block it. Bunch of witnesses, all the maintenance people, all the people that work here seen it. So, I had to jump in my truck because she finally walked back to her car over here. >> All right, get back to the chair. So, >> I'm sorry. >> Where's So, she picked the chair up or what? >> She picked the chair up from this room right here. My truck's usually parked in the back pit. >> She picks it up, literally runs around the whole entire way, gets to the back to the back pit where my truck is. I cut through the middle, cut her off so she doesn't hit my truck like like beat my truck up with um beat my truck up with the chair. So, I'm like, "Okay." So, all the maintenance people like see like guests at the hotel. Did she hit you with the chair? >> Uh, she tried to swing it, but I just I just put my hand up and blocked it, you know. Did >> she swing it at you or the truck? >> I think she swung it at me. >> Okay. >> Yeah, cuz I was obviously in the between the truck, you know. Um, and then she finally started walking back this direction cuz everybody started getting on her like, "Hey, you need to leave. You need to leave." So, she her car is parked over here. So, she finally got into it. So, I said, "You know what? Let me just jump in my truck real quick and move it." So, I waited for her to see if she's going to leave. And all she did was just kept going in circles, kept running in circles, like following me and following me until she finally left. I was like, "Okay, like I need a call, you know, just in case, you know." So, yeah. >> Okay. So, what what did she hit you with? >> Uh, it's still over there on the floor. Um, Starbucks coffee and a Starbucks sandwich. And then the chair as well. >> Okay. So, did she throw it at you? Did she make physical contact with you or was it blown at you? >> She did. Yes. Did you do the same coffee? She was sitting right there where the spa sauce was. I was sitting right here. She also brought all the life jackets and threw them all into the water right here on the side like this. Trying to like stay away from her cuz I didn't want to get closer. I don't want any misinterpretation of me like you know anything like that. So I was trying to keep this in. So this is the spill of the coffee obviously. Starbucks sandwich right there you know. Uh yeah you know this is the pack where the Starbucks sandwich is in. She threw the sandwich at me and then started chasing me up and down the dock. She unclipped that cuz I jumped it to get onto the dock but she unc the rope. So like try to chase me up and down and Yeah. >> Okay. So, where did the sandwich and the drink hit you? >> In the neck. >> Okay. So, it hit you in the neck. >> Yeah. Like it like hit me like screw up. >> Was it same shirt? >> Yeah. >> Okay. I mean, cuz I see brown like coffee there, but I don't really see anything on your shirt. >> I mean, you want to smell me? I >> Well, I was looking I was looking for like a coffee. >> No, I feel you. I smell like hazelnut, I think. Whatever. Like whatever is. And I sat right here purposely cuz I just pulled right here. So, I sat right there. She sat right there. >> Okay. Do you know if anybody here has access to that or tell >> the truth? I I wish I could tell you. I don't know. The champ's on here right now. Mark. >> Okay. Do you have your ID with you? >> I do. >> Hey, what's up? >> Yeah. So, apparently, so she, as of right now, she threw a coffee and a sandwich at him. Um, I don't have any marks or anything on them, but there's a camera right here and you can see the coffee stuff and the sandwich on the floor. Um, well, so they Well, they were they were dating, so they just broke up. That's what the whole ordeal. Um, let me I I'll get to that. I mean, if you want to find out. Are you Are you So, you're over there now. Okay. All right. Yeah. No, like I said, I just got here. Um, yeah. I mean, like I said, right now, we had a coffee cup and a um or coffee and a sandwich thrown at him and Yeah. All right. I'll let you know. All right. Bye. I'm also like on probation, literally about to get off. That's why I wanted to be the one to call and keep myself away from like any trouble, you know? >> I hear you. So, how long were you guys together? like 2 and 1/2 years. Couple 3 years and we broke up, got back together, broke up, got back together, broke up. >> So, this was like the final. I was like, "Hey, I'm done." You know, like >> Okay. So, I mean, you guys been You guys work together now and then you basically that's why you were calling it off here. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> Um, >> you guys don't live together? >> No, sir. No. >> So, I don't have to go back over there. Nothing like that. Like, like I won't ever have to like worry about me going over there or she coming to me. Nothing like that. It's just what was happening here. It was just too much. Obviously, like this is a hotel as well. You know, there's people staying here and it's also a restaurant. So, I didn't want someone else >> somebody else to call and then you're getting hemmed up for something. >> Exactly. >> Look in their eyes. >> Yeah. >> I got understand. >> Yeah. And also, >> who we talked to about the camera? >> Uh the GM. Uh Mark. I mean, >> yes, look. Yo, I hope you die. Reach to this [ __ ] [ __ ] ass [ __ ] It was a rumor cuz I heard that she was sleeping with someone else. So I said, >> I said we're they're out with her now. Sorry about that. >> So this is the first video. >> Why did you keep doing this? >> This is after the >> Yeah. When she chased me onto the dock, >> stop. >> Stop. >> She starts. >> So if she won't leave, go >> stop. Please stop and let's talk. >> Leave. >> Leave. Thank you. Is there literally a police? I don't want to. >> Usually we have a police. Yeah. >> Stop. What are you doing? >> Someone else. Call the police. >> No. >> Go before someone else calls. >> No. Why? >> I said I don't like this. Go for it. Cuz there's people at the restaurant. There's people. >> You need to leave. For real. >> You need to leave. >> Stop. >> You need to leave. You >> need to stop treating me the way you are. Why? Why? >> Just leave. Please. Please leave. >> Please leave. Please leave. Don't make me play off. Please leave. >> So I called her aunt and her uncle. So I tell them and they literally say, "Call the police early. Make her spend the night in jail." I'm like, "Don't make me play off. Please leave. >> Why did you do that? >> Why did you do that? >> Why did you give me your chain? >> So, she's saying give him my chain because she she paid she paid half for my chain, but I ended up giving the money back and then right here. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Well, I mean that's simple. >> Yeah. >> That aspect really doesn't involve us. This is not >> Why are you doing this to me? >> Why not? >> WHY DID YOU COME BACK THEN? >> Why did you do that to me? Why did you do that to me? Why did you do that to me yesterday? Why? Why did you do that to me yesterday? >> I'm going to call your uncle for real. >> This one I'm walking away like I'm walk I think I'm walking around the truck at this point. No, she's >> Mario. Mario. >> Oh, this one. She's coming with the chair. >> Mario, stop. Mario is a maintenance maintenance. Um, man, >> go >> go >> move >> go. >> Okay, so she hit you with the chair there. >> You need to go for real. Go. And that's like like all the um workers and other um patients that were standing at the hotel. >> Okay. That was back over there or was that that was right here? >> Oh, back over there in the sand pit. >> All right. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, where did that hit you? On this side there. >> Yeah. >> Oh, it didn't hurt. She didn't hurt me. >> I understand. But I mean we still have to do play our part and basically >> any kind of unwanted touch or strike is considered the battery. >> Okay. And that's where >> we come in, we got to investigate. So that's why I mean I know you said that she threw a cup of coffee at you. I can't >> physically see >> I mean there might be something here. I don't know if that's just like dirt or like >> but there's really nothing there to show me that there was >> coffee that hit you, but I mean I could document all that. But with the chair that I mean yes that does make contact and then I could >> like to get access to the camera footage that would help out a lot too. >> No. Yeah. And there's one right there as well. >> Mhm. >> So that one might be able to see us right there as well too, you know. So um I give my GMs my GM. >> After showing officers the clips on his phone, he explains how they can access the surveillance footage. Let's take a look. The recording shows the two seated at a table near the waterfront. Their conversation already tense. As he tells her the relationship is over, she reacts angrily, throwing a sandwich, then a cup of coffee in his direction. The argument continues for several moments before she climbs onto the table and steps across toward him, refusing to walk away. She continues to follow him around the area, grabbing a water hose and spraying him with it. Moments later, she walks down the dock toward him and begins throwing several life jackets in his direction, some of them landing in the water. He repeatedly tells her to stop and to leave, but she refuses. The argument continues as the tension builds, showing her becoming more agitated while he tries to keep his distance. After several minutes, she finally walks away from the dock and leaves the area. While one officer continued speaking with the man involved, other units had already arrived at the woman's residence. They were [music] about to make contact and speak with her about what had happened. 37. It's going to be the rear upstairs unit. [music] They're very steep. Oh boy. >> Can't be simple, can it? Sigma 14 inside the apartment. >> The caller did advise that she has EP. Just let her know it's the police. Sarah, honey, it's the police. Can you open the door for us? No. >> You're not in trouble. We just want to talk to you and make sure you're okay. Please leave me alone. >> Are you okay? >> I'm fine. >> Can you open the door just so I can see that you're okay? >> No, leave me alone. >> I don't need you here right now. >> Okay. Did he hit you or anything? >> No. >> Sarah, does he live here with you? >> What? >> Hey, are you okay? I'm fine. >> Okay. Can you talk to us? Is that okay? >> And I have a dog and he >> That's okay. >> Please leave my door. Like I don't want my dogs to get out. >> NO, I HAVE FINE. WHY ARE YOU HERE? >> I'm not going to let your dog. >> Why are you here? I'm not mad at you, but like why are you here? >> You're not in trouble. >> We just want to make sure you're okay. Your boyfriend calling good. He's not my boyfriend. >> Okay. >> And he needs to mind his own business. >> And I already got everything under control. [laughter] >> Can you just explain to us why he be calling? And everything's good. [screaming] Who is he to you? >> [ __ ] nobody. [laughter] >> Okay, Odin, please. >> She's coming to No. >> Go. Go. [laughter] >> You don't look fine. She >> totally okay. Go away. Go away. Go. Please go get him. >> What kind of dog? No, [laughter] he's okay, boy. >> Okay, I've got two at home. [cough] He's okay. >> I'm okay. >> He's okay. >> Please go lay down. Go to bed. Go to bed. Look, this is getting so serious. It's fine. And go. >> Okay, just take a breath. I'm fine. >> Because you don't seem like you're okay. This is not >> someone who's okay would be, you know, you're you're screaming. You're crying. It's all right, baby. >> Fine, dude. I got later. >> Time for the [ __ ] [laughter] >> Okay, so we're >> What time did your [ __ ] start? >> Hi. Hi, baby. >> What you doing? You're beautiful, >> sweetie. Hi. You're coming in here. >> Oh, please don't let him out. He's mean. >> Come here, baby. Come on. Go inside. You're a good boy. Go inside. No, it's just us in there. Go. >> He's fine. Do you want to just step over here and talk to us? That way you can shut the door and not worry about him running out. It's okay. Here, I'll even scoot down. That way you can sit or whatever you want to do. You're fine. >> Calm down. There you go. That way he's not barking like crazy. >> I'm fine. I don't need this. I don't even know why he called you guys. He done call my family. Like I you done calling MY FAMILY. NOW THEY'RE mad at me. >> Take a breath. [screaming] [gasps] >> Why do you think he would be concerned about you to call? >> I don't I don't know. I don't know. He heard a rumor and decided to look. He broke up WITH ME THREE TIMES IN THE PAST WEEK. Like like you're fine. He broke. [laughter] I >> Were you just with him a little bit ago? >> No, that wasn't me. >> Okay. So, you've been home this whole time? >> No, I have not been home. >> Okay. >> But he's a punk. Like, I hate him. >> But I'm not going to do anything. Like, I'm fine. >> We're just trying to figure out why he's called us, that's all. >> Okay. Well, he called you because he's a [ __ ] and he called my family. I don't know why he had to get y'all involved. >> Okay. Why did he call your family? because he didn't like the way I was acting, I guess. >> Okay. What did he tell your family? >> I don't know. I wasn't listening. >> He did that in front of you. >> Yeah. He called my uncle or uncle. Man, I'm in so much trouble. >> He was like, >> "So, our our main concern, Sarah, [laughter] >> Sarah, honey, our main concern is making sure that you're okay." Okay. [laughter] Look at me for a second. >> I'm fine, dude. It's going to go away. Like, it's going to pass. >> Sarah, this is not fine. >> I'm okay. Please. >> Are you hurt anywhere? Your neck is kind of red. >> I'm not hurt. >> Okay. Is that just from you like rubbing your face and being excited? Like >> I get flushed when I'm upset. I see you calling somebody delusional and3. >> I'm not. Please don't call anybody. >> No, we're not calling anybody. We're call >> These are calls that are coming in on the radio for other things. >> Oh my god, I hate him and I hate his stupid [ __ ] ass cousin Bubba. [ __ ] that [ __ ] And [ __ ] his pregnant girl, too. >> Okay, what happened today? >> What happened today? >> [laughter] >> Um, I woke up. >> Tell me about your day. What did you do today? >> I woke up. >> Can we come down here just so I can sit with you, too? >> No, because my neighbors are going to be concerned. >> Well, your neighbors can see you up here. They can't really see you down there. >> Oh my god. Neighbors there. >> Oh, they're fine. Don't worry about them. >> Please, I don't want to sit in front of the window. >> No, I'm not going to put you in front of the window. >> I'm going to come over here where nobody can see us. >> You're fine. >> It's literally Nobody can see you. I'm fine. So, what did you do today? Tell them about your day. >> I don't I want to sit down. Sit down. >> Where is he going? >> Right here. Just right there. Talk to me. >> Why? Why can't you talk to me? >> Cuz I'm talking to you. >> Oh my god. This is so ridiculous. Honestly, I'm really like I just want to go inside and take a shower and take a nap and go work my suit. >> Okay. Tell me about your day. What did you do today? >> You guys probably saw everything. >> I didn't see anything. I came here. I came here first. So, I haven't even spoken to anybody. You're the first person that I've spoken to today. >> Okay. Well, I woke up um I I can't remember right now. >> It's okay. I don't know. But I just took a nap and then I woke up again and he facetimed me and he was like, "Can you um >> Did he want to hang out with you today?" >> Yeah, if we did lunch. We actually did do lunch and it was fine. Where'd you go for lunch? >> He just ordered soup and we ate soup at his job cuz I'm kind of like not feeling good. [laughter] >> Where does he work at? >> At this day. >> Okay. >> Okay. And so I'm suspicious. >> You're fine. >> What are you guys doing? >> Nothing. >> Nothing. I'm asking you about your day and they're just standing there listening cuz it's hard to talk to three people at once. >> So I don't want to go to jail. Okay. So, you had lunch. >> I don't want to go to the crazy hospital either. >> Okay. [snorts] >> I'm literally It's going to pass. Like, it's fine. >> So, you had soup. >> You weren't feeling well. >> And then um [laughter] >> Oh, dude. Um then what did he tell you? >> I don't know. I haven't spoken. >> Why did he call you? cuz he's concerned about you. >> I'm fine. >> And I can understand why he's concerned. >> I'm literally fine. I'm just pissed off that you doing the [ __ ] like you don't treat nobody like that. >> So, did you guys get into an argument? >> Yeah, because he was like, "Oh, I heard I heard this about you trying to [ __ ] Elias, which No, I was there to sing. Why the [ __ ] would I try to pick Elias up?" >> Okay, but you guys are broken up, right? >> Yeah. He said I I He said I'm going to uh I'm going to We just got to go our separate ways. It'd be better. Like, for why? That's a rumor. That's I even called St. Say put Elias on the phone. Oh, no. No. That I No, it was a lie. >> Okay. >> So, he he's just believing a lie and it just pissed me off because like you just don't do nobody like that. Like you like you drive like you don't do nobody like that. >> Does he [snorts] live here with you? >> No. >> No, he has his own place. >> No, he lives with his mom. with his mom. >> And how long have y'all been together? >> Like 3 years, technically. >> Off and on for 3 years. >> What? I'm I don't like what's happening right now, guys. >> What's happening? >> They're trying to call me on the radio for something else, but I'm obviously busy. So, >> okay. I'm really going to be okay. My family called a family meeting tomorrow. They're probably going to send me off. Let me ask you, does your family live here >> in town? >> What is happening? >> Do you take >> Do you take medications or anything like that? >> I don't want to like I I actually don't feel comfortable like right now. I don't feel comfortable right now. I'm fine though. Like it's I'm fine. I'm not going to do anything. I promise. I just want to go to work and work my shift, take a shower, take a nap, maybe calm down. I'll be fine, dude. I just It's fine. >> H >> I'm going to go down. >> So, what did he He accused you of doing something that you didn't do. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> And I didn't do [laughter] it. I really didn't do it. >> Okay. >> But he didn't believe you. >> No, he didn't believe me cuz Bubba. Who gives a what Bubba's dick right now got to say? He's It's always Bubba. For real. >> Is he always a trouble starter? [laughter] >> I didn't do anything. Why are you believing this, man? >> He's like, "Bubba wouldn't do that to me." >> And you said Bubba's his cousin. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> And also Saint's cousin, so that was that's kind of what >> So he tends to believe his family over you. Is that kind of like >> Yeah. I'm okay though. >> I'm fine. I'm calm now. But you're much better now. I agree with you. Okay. Okay. But I can also understand why >> he called us concerned about you, especially when we get here and you're you're super upset. >> Yeah. Cuz I'm allowed to be upset. Going to do anything. >> All right. >> Family keeps calling me. I'm like, my god, bro. >> What family do you have that lives here? >> My aunt and my uncle. But my aunt, she's mad at me right now. >> Why is she mad at you? She's just mad. She said she's like yelling at me, talking about she's going to kick me out of Key West, but she don't. How? >> Yeah. Right. >> Anyway. >> Okay. Mad. >> You're okay. Is Ham coming here? >> No. No. He's uh over there. >> He's not coming. >> To investigate. >> Investigate what? >> Investigate what? Why aren't you guys telling me >> whatever happened over there? He's talking to everybody over there. >> He's talking to What's your boyfriend's name? >> Daniel. >> Daniel. >> Oh my god. So, I'm in trouble. >> You're not in trouble? >> Yes, I am. >> Well, we don't know what's going on over there. So, just like I came here to talk to you, >> he went over there to go talk to him. >> I didn't do anything. I just We're just trying to understand what happened. >> What happened is just a incident. It's fine. What does that mean? >> Like we just got into an altercation, >> but not physical or nothing. >> Nobody put hands on each other? >> No. I sprayed him with a hose though. But it's not like I didn't hurt him. >> Like the garden hose or the bar hose? >> The garden hose. >> The garden hose. Okay. >> I'm so mad. Why' he do that, dude? Well, I think he's more worried about you than anything. >> Well, he don't need to worry. He said I'm dead to him. What worried for? >> You know how it is sometimes. >> Sometimes couples fight and they say things that they don't mean. You know, especially when you're emotional. Mhm. >> You know, I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean that. >> No, he does mean it. He said, "Um, yeah." No, because we, like I said, we broke up like two other times this month. Like, >> yeah, but I don't think he would have called us concerned about you if he meant that. >> No, he wanted to get me in trouble. So, then if that was the case, if I'd have known, I was going to get in trouble anyway. >> Well, you're fine. Well, he's going to talk to him, and I don't know if he's going to come over here and talk to you, too, but we'll we'll sort everything out. You're fine. What time do you say your shift starts? Seven. >> That's seven. Oh, you got plenty time. >> I still need a shower. I'm so sweaty right now. >> Got plenty time. >> You said you have two dogs in there. >> Just one dog. >> Just one dog. >> Odin. >> Odin. >> He's a little meatball. >> Yeah, he's fat. >> I think all pies get that way. How old is he? >> How old is Odin? >> Five. >> I'm in so much trouble with >> Mine's an old man. I was [snorts] 11. [laughter] >> Why would you be in trouble? >> Because my family. >> Who's your family? [laughter] >> My brother kept calling me. My mom. >> You mean you're in trouble with your family? >> Yeah. >> Don't worry about that right now. >> Well, I don't want them to see me like this. >> Your brother lives here, too? >> No. No. Can you can we call my aunt, my uncle or something? Like so they can come over here. >> This isn't their business. This is your business. >> You have two. You have two. >> They'll probably blow my phone up. >> They don't have to know what's going on right now. Unless you want to tell them. That's fine. >> Well, actually, >> we're not going to tell them. You're a grownup, right? How old are you? >> I'm 24. >> Okay. >> You're an adult. We don't have to tell anybody your business. Oh my god. You know, >> we just we need to make sure that you're okay. Everything's okay. >> Just give us a few minutes. Let the other officer talk to him. And I need rescue on the side of it. >> Sounds like a melee down there. >> I don't know. What's that mean? >> What's that mean? >> You can hear all the noise there. Dante's today's probably one of those big parties, right, they're having. >> Yeah. Is that I think. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It sounds like there's absolute chaos down there. >> Has it been busy this week for you guys? >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> How many shifts did you do this week already? >> Two. >> Just two. >> I was off Monday and Tuesday. >> And you're going to work through the weekend? >> Yeah. I always hear like 50/50 that all the people for Fantasy Fest tip well and then I hear they don't tip for [ __ ] >> Yeah. It just depends on your people, I guess. >> Yeah. >> Some people don't, some people do really and they make up for it. >> Mhm. >> You okay? >> Why do you keep crying? >> You sad. >> Why are you sad? They have like kids and [ __ ] I don't want him to see this. >> He what? >> They have [ __ ] eight kids. >> Okay. I don't think the kids are here right now. >> I didn't mean to do that. It was just a rumor. I [ __ ] I literally told him why the would I do that? And I was honest about what I did do. >> And he's still like, "Nah, you're dead to me. So he called or somebody that saw it called >> saw what? >> Saw what happened? >> You spraying him with the hose. Why would somebody call over that? >> A lot of stuff happened. But >> why would somebody else call? >> Cuz cuz I was screaming at him and it was like it was a scene like everybody's watching. But I don't really care cuz I don't know them. But they need to mind their business. >> And then it's like, you know, like probably worried about you too if somebody else did call. >> You know, I'm sure it didn't look good. >> 5283. I've been so nice to him for three years. This man got a whole DUI, got lost his fire, house, job, whatever, and I stayed down for you. And my ex took care of me. He literally like, "What do you do for me?" Well, he did what he could, but I did what I could, too. And I didn't have to. Like, that just pisses me off. Like, you're a [ __ ] human being, bro. All because of a of a false lie. Called the mother. Was I trying to get you? No. Okay. And he heard it. He was on speaker. No, I'm still cool. Whatever. >> You guys know these people. Can you vouch for their character? They're pretty shitty. >> Who? >> Like all these people. >> What people? >> Like Saint and Bubba and Daniel. >> I don't know who you're talking about though. >> Oh, okay. I just said no cuz you guys are officers and stuff. >> Yeah, >> I'm in so much trouble like with my family. I just don't even want to deal with it. I told her I told my I said I don't want to do a family meeting. I don't feel like getting yelled at. She said don't care. She's so like >> she told you today she wanted to have a family meeting. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Probably because she's going to be like [laughter] >> what does that mean? What have been happening during the family meetings? >> She's probably at the >> she like yell at me like she always does. >> So you guys have had to have family meetings before. >> Yeah. >> What were those about? >> That I needed help with rent and they weren't going to do it anymore. Like >> and my uncle had to take me home cuz we were just in a pissing match and we were both drinking cuz it was a boat day. And why would you want to talk finances with me after a boat day? That was ridiculous. >> All right. Is he on his way over here? >> So, what do you think would happen during this family meeting? I think they're going to yell at me for talking to Daniel again and call me stupid and call me dumb and say [laughter] that I'm a bad person and this and that and they told you that maybe your relationship with Daniel wasn't the healthiest before. >> Yeah, because he sucks, not because of me. [laughter] >> He sucks, dude. Do you live here by yourself? >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> Looks like it's a pretty big apartment, huh? >> Yeah. >> It's all right size. >> It's just one. There's not like two separate upstairs. Just one apartment. >> Yeah. Just that cuz this is my landlord's house. >> The downstairs. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> But I don't have access to them and they don't have access to me. This is the entrance. >> It's a pretty sweet spot. What's your name? >> Tiffany. >> Tiffany, I think I've seen you around. >> Maybe. >> I don't know. >> I rarely go downtown. It's >> me, too. And the one time I do. Oh, Sarah's doing that. >> Yeah. Um, so the officer that's over there talking to Daniel >> is Officer Ham. >> Um, and he's on his way over here now. He's just going to talk to you. Okay. >> And that way he can tell you what the situation or whatever Daniel said and you can explain to him >> why what like what's going to be the outcome of this? >> I don't know. >> You don't know? >> I don't know cuz I don't know what was said over there. So, I could go to jail. >> But it's a possibility. >> It's a possibility. >> Sarah. >> Yeah. >> Um, Officer Ham is over there meeting with Daniel. >> Okay. Whatever he was told and video footage, Officer Ham has probable cause to place you under arrest. Okay. So, he's coming over here. I feel like you've been >> cool with us. You've calmed down. >> Um, and we thank you for that and your cooperation. >> You have a dog. >> Mhm. >> Um, is there anybody that we can call for your dog? >> So, I'm getting arrested. >> Yes. >> So, he's decided to press charges. >> Yes. [laughter] >> But I don't want you to get so worked up that now you >> said you are. You just wanted to talk to me. >> And we did. We wanted to talk to you. Okay. But I also told you that we didn't know. >> Oh my god. Yes. Of course. >> What do you need? >> I need to flip my hair. >> You mean like forward? >> Yeah. Yeah. Go ahead. I'm worried about your dog. Boy, I have to do something if you let go. Your phone bag. Okay. I do have a medical card, so there we're going to take those out. Just leave them here. Okay. Cuz you can't take those to the jail. >> Hey, can I get mama? >> This is what you want to take. >> It's all right, baby. >> How about your wallet? >> And then you have any keys? So, this is crazy. >> Wait, what? Watch your butt on that buckle. Okay. What is h? Why are you guys not talking to me? That's so annoying >> because he was asking me a question. >> I know, but it's a question about me. You haven't done that, but we haven't. >> I'm not on her. >> Yeah. >> Trying to figure out how she was doing >> she was in a much more hysterical when I got here when we got here. >> Yeah. She's much calmer now. So, um, Sarah, because he is investigating a criminal offense, he's going to read you his Miranda rights. You've I'm sure you've seen it on cops on Law and Order. You have to >> just just ask it. I just want to ask some questions. >> Uhhuh. >> In order to do that, I got to read. >> Okay. I'm going to put this. >> Is this camera going? >> Okay. All right. >> I was crying if that dog didn't bite me. >> [ __ ] me too. >> Right. I've explained to you. >> Mhm. >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I I just I'm just >> Yeah, I know. I watched interrogations all the time. >> Have Have you asked any law enforcement officer to speak to an attorney? >> No. >> Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to me now? >> Can I stop if I want to? >> Of course. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you're aware where why we're over here. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I know that Daniel gave you some news that you weren't too fond of >> because it was a lie. He's saying doing this [ __ ] He say he's doing this to me. >> Take a breath. >> Okay. But I'm just going to let you say he's doing it like [ __ ] it. >> So, and and you went over there. What did you go over there and meet him at work for? >> Because he asked me to bring him a Pedialite and I said, "Yeah, sure. I'll bring you a pedialite. I got Starbucks." Like I thought we were just going to have a nice sit down get together cuz we were just talking about how we don't spend a lot of time together earlier. Like >> I I was not expecting that. >> Okay. When you say that like >> like for him to be like, "Hey, I think we should go our separate ways because you're quote unquote my friends." No, I didn't. I only one of his friends and he knew about that. >> And when when that happened that made you upset that comment that >> Yeah. >> Okay. And did you throw your coffee at him? >> Mhm. Well, I don't want to admit to nothing. Like I don't want to Is this a felony? Am I getting a felony or a misdemeanor? >> Well, it's it's a battery charge. >> What's that? >> Do you have any batteries? >> No. >> It's an unwanted touch or strike. >> And he decided to press charges. >> He No. Well, the two of you guys were in a dating relationship. Okay. >> Mhm. >> Falls under domestic. >> Yeah. >> All right. Any type of domestic. If he says yes, if he says no, we're still we still got to separate you guys. Okay. Our our requirement is to separate the two of you guys and one's got to go to jail. We can >> Why couldn't he go to jail? >> Yeah. Huh? >> Why couldn't he go to jail? >> What? Well, did he What happened? Did he do anything to you? >> No. >> Did he Did he hit you? >> No. Okay. There was also a point of time when you pick up a chair. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And I know he said you were bringing swing at the truck, hit his truck with it, but you end up hitting him with it instead. So you hit his arm with it. >> Okay. >> This lawn chair. >> Okay. >> I said accurate. >> You You saw the video. Not trying to be disrespectful, but you saw the video >> and you It's It's You're right. I mean this I did see the video. I just like to give you the same opportunity as I gave him and I asked him what happened. So um more or less you went there thinking you guys were going to have a nice sit down talk. >> Mhm. problem with like he told you that he feels like you've been sleeping with other people and said that you guys need to go separate ways obviously [clears throat] understandably [laughter] made you upset >> right >> I haven't been >> I not that you care but I haven't been >> I'm just I'm just making sure I get your side of the story just as accurate as I got Okay. It's a tough tough situation. We can't we can't put hands on each other. Can't use items to hit anybody. >> I didn't mean to hit him. >> But it still happened though. >> Okay. All right. >> Is there air blowing on you back here? >> No. >> Are you comfortable? Not yet. >> All right. Just hang tight for me. All right. It's a short ride. All right. All right. We'll try and get this done as quickly and as painlessly as possible. All right. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Thank you. >> You feel it now? >> Um kind of. It's fine. You said it's a short ride, I guess. >> Yeah. I just I got to speak with Officer Bean real quick and then I'm going to be right here. Okay. >> What are you guys going to talk about? >> I don't know. She said that she had to ask me something. >> What do you Can you tell me? >> Yeah. I don't know what it is yet. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Damn. You're so [ __ ] up, dude. This is so upucking sweaty here. >> Yeah, >> she was just telling me what happened when she when they got here. The relationship is definitely over. How you send somebody to jail? I would never send him to jail. >> Actually, I kind of would. Can you maybe turn the air up? It's like I'm sweating. Yeah. >> My god, Ashley's going to be mad as 62873 628. >> The air can go. >> Huh? >> So, the air is on as high as it can go. Cool glass right now. >> Oh, it's whatever. Oh, also I don't have my glasses. I can't see. Is that fine? I don't know where my glasses are anyway, so I guess it has to be okay. But yeah, I can't see. >> Is it seeing glass or anything? >> Yeah, like I'm -43. It's fine. I don't really care. I'll probably just sleep the whole time anyway. >> You got your phone? I know that they said you're supposed to work tonight. >> Yeah. >> Soon as we get there, you'll be able to get the phone numbers out of there. I mean, I got nobody to call. [ __ ] I done called my uncle. He knows what's up. They'll come get me, I guess. I can't believe this. This crazy, you know. I've never been to jail before. >> That's good. >> Yeah. But now I guess it starts here. >> Huh? Sometimes in those kind of relationships we get a little out of hand. >> Yeah. I can't believe it. But also I can So what's your name? >> Officer Ham. >> Ham or Ham. >> Okay. >> How How long have you been a police officer? >> Six years. >> Wow. How old are you? Okay, cool. H >> Are you from Key West or did you >> I just moved here like 3 years ago. I met him down here, but he's from here. I moved I lived Man, this shit's stupid. I guess it's a eye opener. Maybe what I needed. But you know what's so shitty is my stomach is upset, man. I don't want to go potty in jail. Hey, how long am I going to be in there, do you think? >> So, what happens is you have to have a first appearance, >> huh? >> You have a first appearance, >> which which is when >> which is it be see a judge? I think it should be tomorrow morning. So, we'll be overnight. >> Um, >> okay. Okay. I'm trying to think what today's what? Thursday, >> right? >> So, I think weekends it's normally a little bit earlier. I want to say 11:00. That's the sheriff's office that handles that stuff. >> Okay. And after first appearance, what happens? >> So, depending on the judge, depending on the incident, he could set either he could set a bond where you have to bond out. you can send it your return on RO. So, it basically lets you out on behavior, making sure that you back up to your arraignment date. I mean, there's there's a lot of different things. Uh, when it comes down to domestic zone, it's typically a protection order put in place, whether it be temporary or it's a little temporary one full protection order, which would be a no contact order. the sheriff's office for the 2019 as well. Meaning that you can't contact Daniel, he can't contact you. And if somebody violates that violation, which is arrest, >> okay, so basically I could do I could do more than a night in jail from what you told me. I mean I I don't believe you would see it tonight but I I mean based off of what I have simple battery >> yeah I wasn't trying to >> I but it's still in Florida it's domestic in nature and it's a long country. >> Okay. Right. I know there was a hose involved even like fluids hit somebody with fluids. When we were a kid, you used to spray somebody with a hose and game from what I saw. I couldn't I didn't see that he was wet on actually but the chair did. Why did he did Did he call you? >> Yeah, I guess he had a few people that So, he's >> I'm sure you know a little bit of his background history. >> What? His DUI and stuff? >> Yeah. So, he's under >> Oh, no. Like he's in trouble now. >> No. >> Oh, okay. Well, so that's that's things like this that happen when it gets to that extent where we're just chasing somebody out the chair, walking down. Normally somebody calls >> and doesn't have to investigation, but he calls it >> what? So, we had to call you. >> I'm just >> I did had to talk to the general manager there. >> Mhm. >> And he had issued a trespass warning for my property for you. >> Okay. >> So, you're not allowed back too. >> Mhm. That's fine. That place sucks anyway. If you do go or if you do go back, you would be subject to arrest, right? >> Yeah, understood. I don't really care. Well, I care like obviously like I'm in trouble and stuff, but um yeah, I mean, I guess [ __ ] happens to the best of us. I'm not like wearing I I literally put on a shirt and shorts because I heard a knock at the door. I didn't put full outfit on. So, what up? All right. My poor doggy had to see his mommy get arrested. >> How old are you? >> He's five. He's probably so stressed out right now. And Ashley is going to do me the in um I honestly I'm fidgeting cuz it's sweaty and now it's getting tighter and hurting me. My handcuffs. Can you please can he drive faster? >> I'm glad they'd like to >> go around all these people. >> Put your lights on. Don't move. Well, stupid. I hate Mark. I hate Daniel. And I hate Bubba. And I don't want to see him. Tell him to stay away from me. I need to brush my teeth. Do they have toothbrush there? >> Yeah. >> Okay. My family is going to be pissed, but I'm sure we'll get through this. And I'll probably never ever date another guy a [ __ ] again until I'm married. So, do you have my phone and stuff? >> Yes, it should be up here. >> Is anybody calling me? >> I I don't know. >> You can't check? >> No. >> Oh, okay. See, I told y'all like it would calm down and they're like, "No, calm down." >> Yeah, I told them I'd be fine. Like, I'm fine right now. He's always doing that. Bubba's always running his mouth like about stupid wrong [ __ ] It's like he want to date Daniel. Like, damn. Are you jealous or something? I'll just Man, I'm in trouble. Actually, my aunt's talking about I'm going to kick you out of King Mass. I Please, please, man. Hey, am I going to have a cellmate? >> I really like I can't answer that. I don't know. >> Do you like What are you doing here? >> Well, I transport you here. >> Huh? I bring you here and then here is all the the sheriff's office. >> But so like what do people do in jail? >> Oh my god. Am I going to get beat up? >> I'm scared. It's dark. I [ __ ] Today sucks, dude. What are you getting? >> No, I had a downgrade. Okay. Um, is there anything illegal on your personal being? She searched she asked you that prior? >> I don't think so. >> Okay. I I No drugs, no weapons, nothing like that. >> Don't think so. >> Okay. I give everybody the same opportunity before we go up there. >> Can we track real quick? Like I don't >> Well, you've been doing you don't have any drugs tucked anywhere that they doesn't need to be. >> No. >> In this case, the woman was charged with battery, touch, or strike, a first-degree misdemeanor. She was arrested the same day as the incident, and a few days later, the state attorney's office formally filed the [music] case in county court. At her first appearance, she was appointed a public defender and a no contact order was issued. She later entered a written plea of not guilty and requested a jury trial. But when the case returned to court in early November, the state announced a null proay, meaning they dropped the charge [music] entirely. No conviction, no probation, and no further prosecution. The only remaining cost on the case was the standard $50 court assessment. According to police, the incident began when he told her the relationship was over. What isn't seen stated in the report is how personal it was and how it was done. Ending things in public near a camera after calling her family she was hurt, embarrassed, and emotional. None of that makes what happened right, but it helps explain why things spiral the way they did. With the charge dismissed, her case is now closed. [music] >> I like it when I see you. You better say you feel the same.
