from a crane collapse in Russia that you could easily blame on gravity and a disaster in Indonesia that nearly totaled these cars to Crane on crane violence in soji that definitely cost someone their job and much more here are seven massive crane failures that were caught on Camp the Malang Regency is the second largest state in East Java Indonesia it's home to about 2.6 million people living between 33 districts this crane clip comes from Turin one of the largest districts in the middle of the state it was June 2nd of 2020 a tree removal team was dispatched to deal with a thick trunk that was threatening the power lines after removing the leaves and branches they were left with the core of the massive tree since cutting it down all at once was too dangerous they decided to take it apart piece by piece someone clearly underestimated how heavy those pieces were spectators rushed to rescue the crane operator from the cab while it looks like a scary situation the man emerges with a wide smile he was probably just happy to be alive after all it's not uncommon for people to laugh when they're scared or nervous it looks like the forward momentum caused the crane to topple over you can see where the section starts swinging which likely threw the crane out of balance once it started falling there was no stopping it thankfully the only damage was to the crane itself nobody got hurt and nobody's car was crushed when the machine toppled over it did cause a major traffic jam but that was probably the best case scenario it's easy to forget but without the massive ports that exist all over the world World Global Supply Chains would not be anywhere near what they are today hundreds of thousands of tons pass through the world's ports on a daily basis and big machinery is required to move all that cargo some workers at a port in Guatemala learned firsthand the dangers of heavy machinery when a crane tipped over and nearly took a worker down with it hey heyy hey hey hey [Music] [Music] [Music] now let's see that again in the video you can see the red crane lifting a counterweight off an even larger piece of equipment only moments later the weight becomes too much for the crane and the entire thing comes crashing down it just misses a slightly smaller yellow piece of Machinery possibly a boom lift but the crash was enough to leave one worker literally hanging on for dear life thankfully the man was able to pull himself back onto the platform and out of Harm's Way the man who shot the video had some Choice words about safety precautions in Guatemala saying they didn't have a harness for this kind of accident so it shows that in Guatemala there are no safety measures in this line of work again those are his words not ours SOI is a resort City in southern Russia it's location near the Black Sea gives it a warm subtropical climate it's the infamous sight of the Sochi Olympic games where everything that could go wrong did go wrong on August 3rd of 2011 something else didn't go according to Russia's plans a construction crew was tasked with moving one crane with an even bigger crane unfortunately someone got their math wrong tension reached its breaking point then the wires snapped thankfully nobody was hurt during this crane catastrophe they did have some explaining to do though Not only was the truck crane total but it looked like the crash damaged whatever they were building you can hear one angry Russian man yelling at the very end if we had to guess he said something along the lines of what the heck happened well he probably used more colorful language than that Puna India is an industrial city in the western state of Maharashtra it's the second largest city in the state and the ninth largest in the country it used to be the PowerHouse of the marata Empire today it serves as maharashtra's cultural and Industrial Center industry means heavy machines like cranes are a frequent site in Puna on January 5th of 2019 one of those cranes was set up at a Metro construction site near a busy overpass the operator noticed something wasn't right and warned everyone to get out of the way his quick thinking likely saved several lives that day watch The Man in the middle of your screen as the crane leans forward he runs off to the side narrowly avoiding a terrible accident the crane Keels over to the right landing on some barricades and blocking traffic in the opposite lane if you look toward the left side you can see another work standing and running when he sees the crane coming down aftermath images show how dangerous this collapse could have been the arm landed across the road luckily nobody was driving by it's also unclear if the crane was lifting anything or if it fell under its own weight either way the construction site turned crash site attracted curious people from around the city traffic between Puna and Mumbai was stalled for some time the contractor was also fined for the accident by the looks of of it there was something terribly wrong with their machine the southern Corridor is a 12m urban Highway running along the southern coast of Panama City combined with a northern Corridor both highways form a ring around the city allowing access to the center from the outskirts highways like the southern Corridor are great for advertising you probably see Billboards everywhere when driving near metros like Panama City have you ever stopped to wonder how they get those Billboards in place this video tries to explain but then goes horribly wrong now you can see where the billboard was supposed to s slide into position these guys were never even close let's take another look to see where they went wrong looking closely at the yellow crane you can see where the rear was already coming off the ground the driver decided to shut their door and go for a ride rather than jump to safety another man behind the crane comes sliding into the picture it looks like he's holding a rope or a cable attached to the billboard he only lets go once he realizes All Is Lost according to the fire department nobody got hurt during the accident the crash did cause a massive traffic jam along the southern Corridor two more cranes had to fight their way through to clean up the mess Tower cranes are impressive pieces of Machinery when anchored to the ground your standard tower crane is about 265 ft tall the maximum jib reach or the long arm that extends out is about 230 ft if everything is built correctly it can easily lift about 20 tons of course Tower cranes don't come fully assembled it takes between 10 and 12 semi-rs to deliver all the pieces then workers spend several days putting it together like a Lego set taking it down can take just as long unless you're these workers from northern France instead of taking it apart they simply knocked it over now there was obviously something wrong with the crane taking it apart was apparently out of the question and we don't believe it fell on its own as you can see some cables attached to the side it looks like the crane was pulled down intentionally maybe it was more cost effective to tear it down and recycle the pieces rather than hire a crew to take it apart professionally there are several ways to dismantle a tower crane gravity is clearly the easiest on October 4th of 2014 a group of Russian construction workers was tasked with tearing down an old tower crane from the looks of it this crane had been standing since the fall of the Soviet Union and just like the Soviet Union it was bound to collapse now it's unclear if this is an official crane dismantling procedure or if one of these guys had a decent idea you can see how the crane is mounted on train tracks and where those tracks come to an abrupt end with enough speed the topheavy crane collapsed forward like a giraffe tripping over a rock now comes the tedious task of cutting it up and moving it out if you enjoyed this video and want to see another just like it then be sure to click the link on screen now with that thanks for watching and be sure to tune in next time
