car now on June 16th 2022 officers responded to a concerning incident after receiving a report that a vehicle was being operated by a driver who appeared to be highly Intoxicated The Caller stated that the driver was traveling at high speed ignoring the posted speed limits and posing a danger to others on the road turn a hole okay what what part of the instructions didn't you understand I went around the vog okay right now you're being detained put your car in park put your car in park put your car in park right now where are you coming from I was downtown I don't know I'm not here okay I noticed you're wearing a Sunrise Ford shirt is that where you work yes okay what time did you get out of work today s okay where'd you go after that um I stopped at the Draft House with my mom okay I just want you think maybe that's part of the problem right now probably I just want how many drinks did you have oh no you don't know what you're Dr you need my your insurance insance I'm not trying to be in trouble I promise I'm just trying to go how long would you leave the Draft House hours 3 hours you left the Draft House 3 hours ago oh so it took you 3 hours to get from there to year I had dinner I asked you what time you left the draft house before you came here to go off upon reaching the scene the officers identified the vehicle in question and proceeded to make a traffic stop inside the vehicle they encountered a female driver who appeared visibly impaired her mannerisms speech and behavior suggested that she might be under the influence of alcohol as the officers began to question her she immediately became argumentative and defensive she questioned the legitimacy of the traffic stop expressing frustration and accusing the officers of causing unnecessary disturbance I just want to go home okay so we've been through this one time I told you how you would need to get to your house and you're back here causing a problem with this gentleman who's trying I'm trying to cause a problem I'm just trying to go home promise I'm not from here what does this sign say right here it says Road closed Okay so why would you turn to face this way to go down this road when we've been through this one time already and you know that the road's closed and you can't go that way I'm so sorry I really am I'm not trying to be in trouble how did you go from listening to what I told you to go to the boulevard take a left and go all the way back down the Bayshore I I I am not from here I haven't lived here 6 months I don't know I promise is I'm not trying to be that person I'm so I'm asking a question why why because you keep insisting on going home but right now I just want to go home all right listen my partner suspect you of DUI I suspect your DUI right now I smell alcohol coming from your breath okay so I'm going to get straight to the point since you keep cutting me off about going home since I suspect you of DUI I would like to conduct some field sobriety test you see to test your alcohol uh levels all right would you like to participate in field subet test no okay do you understand if you don't uh participate you can still be arrested for suspicion of DUI when asked directly whether she had been drinking she denied any consumption of alcohol and asserted that she was not involved in any illegal activities to confirm their suspicions the officers requested that the female exit the vehicle and participate in a field sobriety test they explained that her refusal to comply would result in additional charges eventually the female stepped out of the veh vehicle but her behavior only deteriorated further she began yelling screaming and using abusive language directed at the officers her aggressive demeanor created a chaotic scene drawing attention from passers by and escalating tensions do you understand that so would you like to conduct field sobriety test I would like to go home we're beyond that point it's my third time telling you that so like I said would you like t a duck F sobriety test I just all right go ahead and step out of the car for me go to stand in front of my vehicle Victor and I'm also going to need a stand right here for me please I like to talk to no you've already talked to me what do you want to talk about so you don't want to conduct fety no you don't want to do nothing like that I want to go home we're her behavior posed a threat to Public Safety and hindered their ability to conduct a proper investigation the officer ERS decided to take her into custody however as they moved to arrest her she began to resist making the situation even more challenging she physically struggled against the officers kicking and attempting to free herself from their grip the officers maintained their professionalism and used reasonable Force to restrain her they managed to place her in the patrol vehicle but her resistance continued no tell you're searching my car without my permission search car no yeah you did fully restrained they placed her back into the patrol vehicle and transported her to the police station for further investigation and processing at the police station the officers documented the incident in detail including the female's aggressive behavior her refusal to cooperate and the evidence collected from her vehicle stop making hard yourself get in the car no with him tell him to get push it the case was presented in court where the female was charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer and driving under the influence and was sentenced to one day in jail one year of
