Hello, I'm Officer Trini with Cold Springs Police. I stopped you because in the school zone you dropped your kid off in an actively lane of traffic. You can't do that. And then also you're speeding in the school zone. I'm speeding? Yeah, yeah you were. 21 in a 15. Yeah, you were. Okay, I'm not going to argue with you. I'm letting you know what happened. Do you have your license, registration, insurance? Let me tell you something. I know I'm I I I'm not supposed to stop. Like it's like I'm just going to get I'm just I'm just going to work real quick going and that's why I'm driving. I'm not going to do that anymore. It's my first time I do that. Yeah, you can't stop in the road to drop. You got to go in the school zone line. That's why there's a line. going to do that again. Okay, good. I like to hear that. Yeah. Anyway, this is really awkward. We're just looking at each other right now. What's that? Give me a chance, please. I'm I'll give you a chance. Let me see your license though, registration, insurance, okay? Do you have a license in Florida? Yes, yes. Okay. You know I'm just moving. Thank you. And then um just your registration, insurance, please. Do you still live in Vero Beach? No, I'm just moving. You just moved. Did you update your license yet or no? No, no. Okay. Let me see that one more time. Okay, that's good. And then just the insurance if you have that. So, for your driver's license, for your address, you have 30 days to update it. You can do everything on this website right here. This is the Yeah, I'm going to Time for thanks. This is the state's website, okay? flhsmv.com. That's where you can update your license. It's $25 to update your license and then you update it online. They send you a brand new one in the mail. to do that. All right, is that the insurance? Let me see. Thank you. This is um junior body work. I think this is like a body work. Yeah, bumper spacer and a bumper cover. I took your bumper off. Did you guys get into an accident? Oh, okay. Cuz your bumper is missing and this is a bumper replacement, but there's no bumper. Yeah. Here you go. What's your new address? Is that the insurance? I know that's tag agency receipt. Who's your insurance provider? Who's your insurance provider? Okay. Uh yeah, if it's on your phone, you can have a proof of insurance on your phone, too. That's okay. If it's like an email or something like that with your policy number. You Okay. Did you figure out what apartment you live in or no? So, let me check out a couple things. If you find the insurance, just stay in the car. It could be again on your phone or it could be a physical copy of your car insurance. Yeah, I'll be right back, okay? So, we're in Coral Springs High School area because we're getting a lot of traffic complaints with people stopping in the roadways and dropping their kids off instead of using the schools online. This is exactly what he did. He was also speeding after he dropped his kid off. Uh speed limit in Broward County for school zones is 15 mph. He went above 15 mph. He hit 21. And then I went up to him and he was arguing with me about oh, I wasn't speeding and stuff like that. He didn't change his license address. You have to update your license address after you move. You have 30 days to do it. It's $25 online on the state's website. Once you update and you purchase a new license, the state will send you a brand new one in the mail. Your old one, you have to get rid of. You can shred it. You can uh you can cut it up. You're you're only supposed to have one license in um Florida. So, if you're in the school zones, please obey the speed limit. Please use the car drop-off lane. That's what it's there for. You're not supposed to just stop in active lane of traffic to drop your kid off. It's dangerous. It clogs the roadways up, which they're already busy because it's rush hour. And um it's just overall against the law. Did you find it or no? No. Okay, well, I can't verify that you have insurance. I just saw that you have a policy number. I can't see if it's good or not. Is there any way you can show a card on your email or anything like that? The call has been forwarded to an automatic You Is it with Geico or no? You think it's Geico? Yeah. All right. Yeah. Okay. Give me a sec. Let me let me check something real quick. I'm issuing you two citations, okay? One's for the drop-off violation, the other one's for the insurance. Now, how it works is 10-4. For the drop-off, you have three options. You can pay it, you can go to traffic school, or traffic court. Those are your three options. Uh the insurance, you can either pay it or what you can do is you get a copy of your current insurance, you show the clerk of courts the copy by either going in person to show it, or you can mail in a copy of your insurance card to the clerk of courts, and then that ticket gets dismissed, and it's just a $10 court fee. Otherwise, it's a $116 fine, the no proof of insurance, if you don't have insurance. I can't take your word that you have insurance. I could see a policy number on my end. It doesn't tell me what the date is. It doesn't tell me if it's valid, if it's being paid for, if it's still the same company. So, whatever the last insurance company the owner of this car had, that's all the only thing I could see. Okay? But, as far as the drop-off goes, please don't do that anymore. Yeah. Please be careful in the school zones with the speed. I know you said you weren't speeding, but you were going six over. I know it's six over, but that could be a 6 mi over in a 2,000-lb vehicle. It could be a big difference for a little person. All right? Um whichever option you choose, though, you have to comply within 30 days. Okay? And make sure you update your license, please. I'm not issuing a citation for that, either. I could. So, no citation for the speed or you failed to update your license. Just the two. And that's it. Okay? All right, man. Be safe. Thank you. All right. So, you're probably seeing that we're still in the Impala, and I just want to talk about last week's episode. Now, I'm not a Chevy guy. I'm not a GM guy by any means. I I'm not a fan. So, I thought the Stingray was a special edition cuz, you know, it being super quick, super fast. I know they make a Corvette called the Stingray. Well, I got roasted in the comments because, according to you guys, through your detective skills, Stingray is the name of a Chevy dealership. So, yeah, I I I got fooled by the good old Stingray dealership, I guess. But, just want to throw that out there, that yes, you guys schooled me, and I know better next time that Chevy Impalas are not the Stingray Impalas. I apologize. Hey, Officer Tony with Coolsprings Police. I stopped you because in the school zone you're going 28, and the speed limit is 15. I'm sorry. I wasn't meaning to speed. These two are in the back fighting, Uh-oh. and I wasn't like I'm trying to get them to school. I'm so sorry. Okay. Um yeah. They're twins, and all they do is fight. Oh, jeez. Boy and girl? Girl and girl. There's You guys can't be fighting back here. You're distracting your mom. All right. One just hit that one with a water bottle. Oh my goodness. You guys better be careful. All right, so she entered the school zone 28 and 15 past the lights like the others. Uh this time there was a battle of the twins in the backseat going on distracting the mom. So, mom was telling me she was about distracted because the back there was a war zone going on in the back. She was trying to mediate the situation. And doing so, she forgot to slow down for the school zone or she didn't slow down all the way. So, I'm going to look at her license. We're going to make sure that everything's good. No warrants. She's not suspended. As long as everything comes back, we're going to make this a learning lesson. Um and especially with the kids, I'm going to talk to them. Kind of just let them know like, "Hey, look. You guys got to be careful. Your mom's driving a car and there you can't have a some like war zone going on the background while your mom's driving. She has to focus on the road, not you guys fighting. Is that car not good? Hey, good morning. Good morning. Good. How are you? Okay. So, the one the one I'm looking at is actually good. So, this is a valid insurance. All right, no problem. Thank you for sending it. All right, so look. So, look. Just a written warning, okay? It's not a ticket. If I wrote you though, it would've been around $400 because the fines are doubled in school zones. So, please be careful. Kids, no more fighting in the backseat when your mom's driving, okay? You guys got to behave. All right? Have a good day at school, guys. All right, man. Be safe. Hey, Officer Trani with Coral Springs Police. When I stopped you because when you came out of that shopping plaza, you went the wrong way crossing that median. You can't cross that median, okay? Um do you have your license on you, your registration, insurance, please? Is there a reason why you did that? Is everything okay? Um, um, I've seen other, you know, when you're coming out, so I thought, okay, I had a break. Yeah. I followed Yeah, so you can't go in the, uh, the westbound lanes going eastbound. That's very dangerous. So, you also had a stop sign where it said right turn only, and obviously didn't go right. You went straight. Correct. Yeah. But, anyway, I'll take the paperwork. Thank you. This is good. So, this paperwork is the old one. You can keep it if you want, but this is the current one, which is good. Thank you. Let me check out a couple things. I'll be right back. All right? But, just Do you understand? Yeah. No, yeah. There's a left turn lanes, westbound lanes. That one I That one I missed, but the left lane Right. my wrong. I see people do it, so I said, okay. Well, there's people out here that do a lot of things wrong, but just because they're doing things wrong doesn't mean it's right. Okay? All right, give me 1 second. So, we stopped the driver of this car because, coming out of a parking lot, she was supposed to make a right turn only. Instead, she went straight. She went eastbound in the westbound left turn lane. And, um, that is literally aggressive driving. You have the improper change of lanes. You have failing to obey traffic control devices, the lane lines on the road, um, the traffic control device, right turn only sign, and also you're driving on the wrong side of the road for a split second. So, that could That's a recipe for disaster. That's aggressive driving in a nutshell. She told me that she seen people do it in the past, so she figured she can do it. Maybe the person got away with it last time. A wrong doesn't make it right. You see someone breaking the law, it doesn't mean it's okay. It's It's against the law. There's laws out here for a reason. There's rules out here for a reason, for the safety of the public, for the safety of people, pedestrians, property. So, just got to, um, just got to make sure everyone's following the rules out here. That's why we're we're here. Law enforcement officers. I'm issuing you a citation for careless driving. You have three options. You can pay it, you can go to traffic school, which is fully online, or you can go to traffic court. But whichever option you choose, you have to choose one within 30 days or Florida will suspend your license. Okay. Okay? All right, please be careful. Thank you. Hello, Officer Tran with Coral Springs Police. I stopped you cuz you're going 40 in a 15 school zone. Is everything okay? I'm so sorry. No, my wife and I were just trying to collaborate, you know, with running late for a Okay. Yeah, you got to pay attention, man, cuz there's little people out here walking around. Do you have your license on you? Registration insurance, please. What I need to do is I have a 9:00 meeting. What's that? I have a 9:00 meeting. Got you. Do you live on 61st Way still? No, we just changed. We actually just sold it. Did you update your license yet or no? No, I have to update it. All right. Uh my my What's your new address? Yeah, just make sure you update your license. You can do everything online on this website on the back of your driver's license. That's the state's website. It's $25. And then once you pay and you update your license, Florida sends you a brand new one in the mail. Yeah, I know. I just actually updated it and then uh they sent the form to my old address. Oh, so you updated your license or you updated the registration? Oh, okay. That's why I asked you. You said no. Okay. No problem. Do you have your insurance? Yeah. Can I explain it back? What's that? Oh, okay. This is good. I'll leave this with you. Thank you. Give me 1 sec, I'll be right back. So, we passed the giant flashing amber lights indicating a school zone. For some reason, he didn't notice the lights and it's probably because he was too busy collaborating with his wife on the phone instead of paying attention to the road. It's uh 15 for a reason. There's kids out here, little people walking around, and uh there's reduced speeds for that reason cuz there's a ton of kids coming to the school. There's people getting off school buses. There's school buses turning into neighborhoods. So, that's why it's 15 instead of what it normally is, which is 45. So, I guess he slowed down a little bit. He slowed down 5 mph. So, I've explained it in the past episodes and I think other officers have, too. But, speeding in a school zone, speeding in a work zone with workers present, the fines are doubled. So, for this case, the fine is $456 for going that fast over the speed limit. Not only is it dangerous, but it's dangerous for your personal finances, too. So, please be careful. So, I'm issuing you a citation for the speed. You have three options. You can pay it, you can go to traffic school, or traffic court. But, whichever option you choose, you have to comply within 30 days. All right? Yeah. Sorry, I'm trying to get to Weston for 10:00 for a meeting. Yeah, you're probably going to be late. So, just be careful, okay? Yeah, I know. I got it. All right, man. Take care. Hey, Officer Tony with Coral Springs Police. I stopped you because Good, thank you. I was speeding. I know. Yeah, that's why I pulled you over. I was I was on the I had my talking to my phone my wife on the phone. Okay. I'm sorry. Yep, the speed limit here is 25. Yeah, you were going 40. No problem. So. I'm sorry. Appreciate you owning up to the mistake. No, no, no. I was I I just told I said I got pulled over. I was talking on the phone. Yeah. Do you also have the registration insurance? Yeah, I got it right up here. Oh, you CDL? What do you do for a living? You drive trucks? Well, yeah. Okay. Just be careful cuz you know how it is with speeding tickets and CDLs. I I have not I haven't had a ticket in 12 years, man. Good. More than 12 years. My See where my registration is. This has got to be in here. Oh, man. I'm telling you. When you least expect it, yeah? Yep. Let me call my wife. Sure. See where the damn registration is at. All right, so while you do that, I'll be right back. If you find the registration and the insurance, just please stay seated. You don't have to get out and I'll be right back with you, okay? Thank you. So, with this stop, he has a Class A license, so he has a CDL. Um meaning that he drives trucks for a living. He needs this specialized license so that he can drive large machinery, uh semi-trucks, tractor-trailer kind of school bus kind of things town for. In Florida, it's very strict. If you get a speeding ticket and you have a Class A or Class B or CDL class license, a speeding ticket could suspend his license for a long time. That's This is his livelihood. I could basically put a roadblock in front of him with personal finances. He won't be able to work. His license will become suspended and then he'll either have to go to some type of school to reinstate his license. He's going to have to pay a bunch of fines to reinstate his license. So, there's very strict rules and these guys know that. That's why a lot of truck drivers are very good drivers. I just looked and there's no history with him. He's never been stopped by the police in Coral Springs. He's never been given a ticket in Coral Springs. So, today he's just going to get a written warning for speeding. So, if it happens again, he's probably not going to get a break next time. But, I'm pretty confident that he's not going to speed next time. I found the registration, but my wife said that the insurance card might have fall out fell out. Okay, that's not then she said I'll I'll text it to you if you need it on the phone. Okay. You know. Uh yeah, if you if if she could just text it to you real quick, that'd be good. she's looking to it now and she's going to text it to me on the phone. Okay, this is good. Thank you. I appreciate that. No problem. And I'm so sorry, man. I Normally, I'm not like this, but then I I took it to the doctor. She wanted to make sure I go get a medication. Right. So, I said look, I'm shopping. I just came from from Trader Joe's. Oh, that's a great place. Yeah, oh my god. I I'm sorry, man. I I really I was like unconsciously moving along and you know, I'm I'm going home and No, I get it. You're a professional driver, too, so I get it. You're You're very self-aware. I appreciate you, you know, for giving me this consideration. Yeah, absolutely. Just a written warning. It's a I know you have a CDL, so I'm not trying to jam you up. I really appreciate You don't know how much I appreciate that. It could have been $256, though. And then, obviously, your CDL could have got jammed up, okay? I appreciate it. Take care. All right. No problem.
