On November 20th, 2024, Key West police were dispatched to a bar on Duval Street regarding an intoxicated individual who refused to leave the premises. Upon arrival, officers were escorted to the second floor by security who reported that the individual had disregarded multiple requests to exit the establishment. Witnesses pointed out Andrew who was only wearing his underwear and holding his shorts. Other patrons indicated that his behavior included running around inappropriately on the stairs of the bar. Andrew continued to use foul language and acted aggressively during his transport to the detention center. He yelled derogatory and threatening remarks at the officer. And when asked if his comments were threats, he confirmed they were. Upon arrival at the county detention center, assistance was requested from correctional deputies, but Andrew began cursing at them and the nurse. He remained confrontational towards the staff throughout the booking process. Based on the facts and evidence in this case, it is believed that Andrew violated trespassing laws by failing to leave the property upon the owner's request and refusing to exit the establishment after multiple orders from security personnel. Additionally, his behavior disrupted the peace and quiet of other patrons leading to charges of disorderly conduct. He is also charged with making threats of serious bodily harm to a public official.
