Continuing to the intersection. All right, looks like he's pulling over now. I can't see in the back. >> An officer pulls over a Suburban for a cracked windshield, but what happened next he didn't expect. The woman gives the officer a fake name, but before he can even confront her, she takes off. And that's not the only suspect that had the same idea today. The driver has multiple warrants and a suspended license. So, she wasn't going to be let off with a ticket to begin with, but how this ends she definitely wasn't expecting. And that's not the only chase we'll see today. >> Blue and white at Elizabeth. >> She's running red lights and narrowly missing other cars. It's only a matter of time before she does more damage unless the officer stops her in time. Just when it looks like her luck has changed and it seems like she's going to get away, something unexpected happens. >> Officers are barely keeping her in their sights when out of nowhere they see a light pole disappear. >> DRIVER, SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. DRIVER, SHOW YOUR HANDS. >> THIS WOMAN ADDED FLEEING AND eluding amongst other charges to her long rap sheet. And if you think that was a dumb reason to run, well, this next guy ran for an even dumber reason. >> Get out of the car. >> I'm hurt, but I'm not running. >> This officer is sitting and radaring a 35 mph zone. A few vehicles are touching on being over the limit too far, but this officer is patient. He's waiting on the big fish. When out of nowhere he radars a car going 70. He immediately pulls out after the black Suburban, but this stop isn't going to go the way the officer thinks. What the officer didn't expect was the reason this suspect ran. First, however, the officer has to stop the suspect. >> 34 and MacArthur with an unlicensed black Chevy Suburban. >> Copy 1644. >> No plate on the car and at first it doesn't seem like the suspect is really running, but that's about to change. >> Bike 48, we'll be continuing southbound on MacArthur towards downtown. >> 10-4 8, copy. >> Bike 48, still continuing speed approximately 52 mph, light traffic. Bike 48, MacArthur approaching. Coming to a stop at a red light. >> C-18 received. >> 6-3. Continuing to the intersection. Looks like he's pulling over now. Nope, he's taking off. We're going southbound on Pike, 2600 Pike, light traffic, speed 45 mph. >> South 540 chasing 40. >> And he's speeding, he just ran over a curb. He's going 70 in a 35, original reason for stop. We just uh turned westbound on West 24th, speed 36 mph, no traffic. I'm coming across Parker. Speed 30 mph, turning left on a Franklin. Going back southbound on West 24th, turning right onto Division. Speed 20 mph, no traffic. >> Out of nowhere, this suspect does the weirdest thing. He suddenly just stops. Wait until you hear the reason he ran in the first place. I have to ask you a question about that because to me, it doesn't really make sense what he did. >> Turn around. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. Stop right there. Do not move. Face away from me. I would stop. Turn around. Face away from me. Turn around and face away from me. 48, we're at 23rd and Division. Turn around and face away from me. Do what I say now. No, stand up. Turn and face that way. Turn. Keep turning. Walk backwards towards the sound of my voice. Walk. Keep walking. Keep walking. Keep walking. Keep walking. Walk. Keep going until I say stop. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep walking. Put your hands on your head. Now, keep walking. Keep walking. I didn't say stop. Keep walking. Keep walking. I'm going to walk him past you. Hold the car. >> Okay. >> Keep coming. Actually, you know what? We'll wait on another car to get here. You stay right there. Hold the car. No, keep your hands on your head. You stay where you're at. >> The officers still have to secure the scene and clear the vehicle. After that, they'll discuss him fleeing as well as his charges. But, my question to you is, if you had a suspended license, would you be driving 70 in a 35 mph zone? Criminals never make sense to me. >> I just need to face that way. Face that way. >> You give me somebody. >> All right, now keep walking backwards. Walk. Walk. >> Is there anyone else in the car? >> We don't know yet, sir. >> Keep walking. I got to see nobody in there. >> all right, keep walking. Keep walking. Keep walking. >> You're good, buddy. >> Keep going. Keep walking. >> All right, somebody stack up on this driver's. >> If you need it in 20 seconds, you might come this way. Stop right there. This block right here. >> Anybody else in the vehicle, come out with your hands up. I don't think anybody is. Sarge, you want to stack on me, we can take it. I'll I'm going to bypass everything, go to the driver side, you stop at >> passenger and you stop at the way back. Copy. Going up to >> I can tell you're coming to this side. Come with me. Like I said, I'm going to pass everything. I'm going to stop at the driver side. He's going to be passenger if you want to clear the way back. >> Yep. >> I can't see in the back. >> Is the way back clear? >> Clear. >> Anybody hear that? >> Hear what? Yeah, it's 10-64. I got Yeah. You got a idea of who he is? >> Not yet. >> Okay. >> Uh I was at 3700 MacArthur when he ran out here. Last I saw him he was >> Doing 70. >> Southbound? >> Yeah. And then we just kind of slow rolled in traffic. I didn't think he was I just thought he didn't hear me, so I put my sirens on. >> Yeah. >> And when we got to the >> Straight through he did. >> Well, when we got to the intersection of Pershing, he pulled off like he was going to turn into Pike Plaza, and then he just punched it, and then that's when it took off, and Yep, so. >> Okay. >> Easy peasy. >> Okay. >> Look at the DM in the front of the vehicle. I don't know why the heck he's running. All he is is suspended. He ain't got no warrants. >> Do you got his information there cuz I don't >> Yeah, it's on the it's on it's on my screen. >> And obviously the speed when I got behind him. What what was his top speed once you lit him up? >> I'd say 70 before I even lit him up was his top speed. >> Don't know after post lighting him. >> Yeah, but after lighting him up he continued. I mean we were I guess I'm I'd say say do you think judging from the point you you initiated your traffic to cuz you were you were saying speeds of 30, speeds of 20. >> Yeah. >> So, do you think this constitutes a misdemeanor for you? >> No, it's going to be felony fleeing. By the way, he hit that curb and took off. When I said speeds 25, that was me going through an intersection after I checked. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> So, what is like >> He was still Oh, he was >> probably I mean he was he was I I honestly can't tell you. He probably was 40, 45, but still his >> his 35 on fiber right there. Well, I have to obviously we'll have to just review the video. You know, you can just look at it real quick.
