She just keeps >> I'll stop now. I'll stop. Can I go home now? Why are you guys arresting me? >> A marshmallow. The woman was charged with a felony grand theft and contributing to the corruption of a minor. Turns out she was already on probation for a previous charge. By violating it, she ended up spending a year in jail. And while this mother tried sneaking out a few toys, the next one pushed it further, rolling away with a full cart full of stolen goods for herself and her son like she'd given herself a 50% discount. >> Mm- You never been trouble. This won't be a big deal. but they were watching you and they said that you didn't pay for a lot of the stuff. So, let's go in here and see what's going on and we'll figure it out. >> On February 24th, 2022, officers were dispatched to a local Walmart over a shoplifting incident. The mother of three and her son almost got away, but the lost prevention department of the store was not having it. >> Oh, I'll pay for it, but I wasn't even >> You got your ID on you? >> It's connected. >> Just let me see your ID. We'll we'll figure it out. >> ID here. Let me get >> just come to the loss prevention office and we'll figure it out. Let's get your ID. >> Oh, >> you ever been in trouble before? >> You've never been in trouble. This won't be a big deal. But they were watching you and they said that you didn't pay for a lot of this stuff. So, let's go in here and see what's going on and >> we'll figure it out. Just >> I'm sorry. >> No, that's fine. I'll tell you what. Since your kids in there, we'll let you push the buggy over there. Okay. >> They can push it. >> Well, you can push it. Your kids in it. >> Push it. >> Your kids in it. But I can pay for whatever. >> We'll figure it out. >> Where are we going? >> This little loss prevention room right here. >> There's one outside. >> No, this is just their little office. You can just You can go in here and sit on this bench with your kid and let here. Let's keep all this out here for now till we office. >> Yeah, you can just take him in there and y'all can sit there for a minute while they figure out what what they say you did and didn't pay for. We'll see. >> I have a lot of stuff. Yeah, it's going to take a minute. I just put $400 something dollar. >> You spent that much? >> I'm trying. A lot of the stuff I gave her back said I didn't want. So, I'm trying to figure out what did I >> Well, they were watching you on video and they said you didn't scan a bunch of it, but we'll see. We'll see. >> A bunch of it. >> Well, they some of it. I mean, you if you paid that much. >> Hey, buddy. It's okay. >> Who's that on your shirt? Is that Woody? >> All right. 28. >> What's in that bag up there? >> Oh, a reb bag. I don't know where the CI >> Can you go see if it had the thingy? >> Well, I mean they Yeah, they can pull it out. You pay for >> Yeah. >> It would have just had to It would have just came out, right? You just can't find it. >> I don't Yeah, I can't find it. It's probably one of the bags. >> All right. Well, we're just >> You know, >> we're just going to see. >> Well, they were watching the cameras. They said you didn't pay for some stuff. So, >> who are they? >> The Walmart loss prevention people. The people who work here. Oh, okay. >> It's their job. >> I mean, we're going to figure it out. They got to show us the evidence. >> Mhm. >> And you said you never been in trouble before? >> No. >> You ever been arrested for shoplifting? >> No. >> If you ever been arrested for shoplifting, I mean, the worst it will be is a ticket. So, you ain't got nothing to sweat. >> Okay. >> I mean, it still sucks, but you're not going to jail. So, >> but at the end of the day, I appreciate you guys for doing what y'all did instead of making it a bigger scene cuz I have my kids. I appreciate >> it. There ain't no reason to be a big scene. I appreciate you also, man. Cuz you know a lot of people are rude to people even though you know. >> Oh, she's rude most of the time. I'm just kidding. >> You got a lighter. >> I don't. >> None of us smoke. >> None of us. I don't either, really, but at >> the end of the day, I could pay for it. >> Well, it is what it is. >> I mean, you paid you paid for most of it, but >> 16. There's one. Like I said, you'll probably get a citation and you'll probably get barred from here and that'll probably be the end of it. >> I pay for that stuff. >> No, that's not how it works. I mean, once they catch you, they catch you. So, just let them do their thing and you can take the stuff you paid for, obviously, but uh just let them do their thing. >> For someone who could have paid for everything, but she was sorry just because she got caught. >> They just that's their policy once they stop you. I mean, cuz that's their job, their loss prevention. >> Can I speak to Justin? >> Yes, sir. What's up? You know what it takes to be do your job? >> What? >> Being a pig. Pride. Being a pig. Pride, integrity, and guts. And praying God you can come back home. >> Truth. >> Thank you, sir. >> It is the truth. You got to got to have integrity doing your job and uniform shows your pride. >> Thank you, sir. >> Outdoor. I'm from the hood so I got I had >> we have a lot of shootouts in my neighborhood. I'm trying to be out there a lot. If I tell you why my brother had OD too and died but he had came back the N brought him back but he was dead for a while and a four week old and a six-year-old. >> Oh yeah. >> And I don't have support. So you got to think about that. >> Yeah. It's just me and the dad. Like, we co-parent, but it's really just me and my fiance. His daddy is ain't no way in the hell I had almost $200 worth of stuff together. I don't believe that. >> They really be doing it together. Ain't no way in the hell. >> Well, we've got it. We'll just list it all on the report for you. And >> I don't believe that. >> At the end of the day, it is what it is. Okay. And I ain't say nothing about you doing your job, but my thing is when it came to my baby, you had an attitude. And I'm a mother at the end of the day. >> I ain't saying that. Okay. My kids are way more important than little funky merchandise in here. And I'm being honey. >> All right. >> On top of getting barred for 2 years, the woman was let go with a citation for theft by shoplifting. But while this woman stayed defensive throughout the incident, the next suspect could not bear the same shame of the consequences in front of her daughter. thing of sandwich meat that wasn't scanned. That's the bananas or oranges or onion. >> At a Walmart in Mansfield, Texas, a woman was caught red-handed skip scanning items with her daughter. But things took an even stranger turn when her boyfriend showed up. >> Scans the pepperoni and then has a thing of sandwich meat that wasn't scanned. That's the bananas oranges or onion. bell pepper scans the oranges, scans the bread and those hits but doesn't scan the one in the hand and then gets triggered for a miscan alert. So the associate goes over there, clears it and then she continues the behavior room skip scanning and then doesn't scan the cat litter, the dog food, cooking pans, and there are other items inside there and the baskets are here. Easter baskets don't even get taken out of the shopping cart. Hey, Miss Stevens, who can come get your daughter? [Music] >> Okay, go ahead and give him a call. Okay. >> And what kind of car did y'all come in? >> The Chevy Blazer. >> Chevy Blazer. Where's the parked at? No. >> It's not too far out. >> These are what she paid for. So, she You can take these with you. >> Okay. >> Uh, let me go ask about that person. >> What What is she being charged with? that paid at what? How much? >> Um char it's a total of $217 and some change. I can't remember the exact amount. >> Can it be paid for? >> No, at this point it can't it can't be paid for. They want to press charges. So we got to do our job and facilitate that. >> So now what? >> Well, now she's going to get taken to the Everman jail. That's where we house >> Everman jail. It's Everman, Texas. Okay. >> Uh kind of near Force Hill. Um she'll see a judge sometime. So what I do take this? Yes, sir. I can't speak with her. >> All right. She'll get a call when she gets booked in. I I will tell you, usually we tow the car. Okay. But since we have someone that's an adult here, I'm going to leave it to you to either come back up here and get it yourself or have have a buddy come get it. So, we're not going to tow it. >> Yeah. We're not going to tow. We're going to let y'all come come back up here and pick it up. Okay. >> All right. >> Sure. Walmart. >> What's up, sir? >> Open $217. >> It's a theft, sir. Walmart decides to press charges, but we have no choice in the matter. >> That's a That's less than a misdemeanor. >> No, it's actually a misdemeanor. It's a class B misdemeanor, which is one step above a class a class ticket over over a class C >> because the theft of bound is $100 or less in the state of Texas. So, if it was >> So, I they they won't let me let me settle up with them and and sign an agreement not to come back. >> Yes, sir. >> Is it y'all or them? >> It's them. >> Can I ask them? >> They're not going to. We We do this almost on a daily basis with Walmart and and thefts going on. So they're not going to change their minds. They choose to prosecute. We have >> Yeah, cuz they're lazy asses can't scan out people. >> That's That's up for you to take care take up with with Walmarts are not. >> That's insane, man. And you know that just as well as I did. >> Well, why is it insane? That's what I'm pay for or or to settle up with sign agreement not to come back here and we won't come back here. >> But the theft was already committed. >> What the? You have your property and I'm just to pay you your money and you can keep the property. I don't give a damn about that. I'm just trying to to Hey, wife. It's $217. >> Okay. Would you be okay with somebody stealing $27 for you? >> You let it happen at my house. >> We let it happen? >> Yes. Yes, sir. We did. I >> We showed up and watched it. We showed up and watched somebody steal stuff from your house. >> Okay, man. >> What you think, sir? Is there anything else we can do for you? >> That's crazy, man. It's insane. That's how the law works. That's how Walmart works. >> $217. That's class B misdemeanor. Do they have to treat everybody the same? It's >> not fair, man. >> Okay. >> It's only not fair if she gets caught. Classic. Guess they're perfect for each other. If the angry boyfriend seemed delusional, just wait until a Disney dad on his own honeymoon. Try sneaking off with over $1,400 in merchandise with his daughter by his side. >> Are you guys visiting from Maryland? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> We're here on my honeymoon. >> Okay. On November 6th, 2021 in Orange County, a 50-year-old father, his wife, and their 22-year-old daughter walked into Disney Springs, not for a family outing, but to steal multiple pairs of high-end designer sunglasses. In the crowded stores, they almost got away with it until things went terribly wrong. >> Hi, I'm Danny with Disney Security. How are you today? >> All right, so you guys were over to Oakley a little bit earlier, right? What's that? You were over at Oakley a little bit earlier >> until 97. [Music] >> This is the situation. We're only in contact with you because they have video surveillance of you from Oakley. >> Mhm. >> Um for shoplifting, right? >> Okay. >> So, that is why we're here. You are being detained right now. You're not free to go >> by any means. >> Oh. All right. So, I'm going to ask you to put down the bags for the mean in the meantime. >> Okay. >> Hang out for a few. All right. >> Are you guys visiting from Maryland? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> We're here on my honeymoon. >> Okay. >> Yeah. We're in the service right now. >> You with anyone else? >> I know you said you're here on your honeymoon. So, your wife is in the store as well. >> Oh, my wife and my daughter are running around here somewhere. >> So, what do we know? >> We're making contact with the other parties that were involved at Oakley as well. They'll be coming over here and we'll proceed from there. All right. >> Strawberry lot entry. >> Hi ma'am. You have ID >> any chance? >> Landing 51. >> I don't know. >> Do you have ID? >> I don't. >> How old are you? >> 20 22. >> 22. >> Yeah. I just got here today. >> Okay. All right, ladies. So, I'm going to ask you to stand just right over there, sir. Just hang out real quick. My deputy is going to hang out with you guys for a few. All right. So, you guys are here because you guys were involved in shoplifting today, right? That's the whole reason that you're here. Um, you guys were observed in Oakley. Well, your daughter and your husband were observed in Oakley, selecting items, concealing them, and not paying for them. That's why we're here. All right. Um, that being said, as far as it relates to Oakley, at this point in time, you weren't seen on video, so you are going to be released. you will be free to go. Um Disney, which is separate from us, it's a separate entity, is trespassing you, right? So, um Danny's one of the security managers. He'll explain the process there. >> What about them? My >> So, your daughter and your husband will be trespassed from Walt Disney property as well, and they will be going to the Orange County jail today. After the man and his daughter were searched, officers removed $1,496 worth of sunglasses and other products taken from other stores in the Disney property. And with the honeymoon now ruined, the man decided to make things difficult for the officers. >> So, understand something. If you move from here again, I'm going to put you to sit on the ground. Do you understand me? >> If you do that again, after that, I'm going to I'm going to hop on your feet. >> My daughter, she just had back surgery, man. Stand over there like I told. You know, take a seat. Take a seat. >> I can't sit on the ground. >> Take a seat. Yes, you can. >> I'll stand right here. >> Take a seat. >> Take a seat. >> God damn, man. >> Take a seat. >> I'm going to ask you to sit down. >> Sit down on the ground. 50 years old, man. Seriously. >> I'm sure that you're quite capable of doing that. You're quite capable of moving around. >> Walking around. So, stay here. Don't move. >> Come on, man. You have that camera on? >> Yes, it is. Move again. I'm putting you on the ground. Do you understand me? >> Yeah. >> Am I clear with you? >> Yeah. >> Don't move again. Dude, I'm just checking on my kid. >> I'm not. I'm just telling you what I'm going to do because you cuz you're refusing to obey our commands. >> I'm not refusing anything. I'm checking here. Don't move. That's a command. >> Sure, dude. >> Don't do anything else. Walking there, that's disobeying that. That's resisting. Do you understand me? >> Sure. >> Makes you feel better. Sure. >> Hi. >> Hi. Excuse me. >> Hi. >> Um, so the reason why my dad's all freaking out, mad, all that. Um, I have a record. Four years ago, I got drugged. My lawyer said if they done if they had done toxicology I would have gotten an all of it but they didn't do toxicology at the hospital. It got ruled as the concussion not anything else but um I'm a first grade teacher so that's the reason why if I get in trouble I'll lose my job. I got drugs. >> Yeah. And I just got back surgery. I can show you show you my scars. I have two in the back one in the front. >> Okay. I don't I'm not negating your back surgery or anything else. That's not the reason that we're That's just the reason why >> he's being murdered. He's not helping me. >> That's the reason why he's like he just doesn't want me to lose my job. I don't want to lose my job. I didn't I was carrying a bag. >> I just got here today. Like >> for someone who just had back surgery, she was doing a pretty good job at having her father's back in the shoplifting mission. And as a result, both of them were charged with felony grand theft. And if this father already failed at winning dad of the year, the next pair of women took it even further, roping a minor into their crime and setting themselves up for a whole different kind of justice. >> Cuz I He stopped me in the back in the back room and asked me where the restroom is. On June 20th, 2024, 20-year-old Lords Rodriguez and Zatria Daniels hit CVS and Walgreens stores across Florida in a coordinated retail theft scheme using a 14-year-old girl as their lookout. But what began as a slick operation quickly took a turn for the worst as every move was already being watched. >> So, we're instructed by our like loss prevention to keep an eye out for like certain people. Yes, ma'am. >> So, these women apparently they hit up and down sort of they wear skirts and underneath the skirts are kind of what he explains is like a kangaroo pouch where they um just shove stuff in it. So, they actually came into the store twice. The first time we didn't notice them. The second time they were literally just in the store for like a minute cuz we followed them around. So, here's the first lady. She comes in and then this is the other lady. And then they have a minor boy with him too. Them too. He kind of like, well, where can I find the restroom? Blah blah blah blah blah. So, he's looking for whatever cuz I he stopped me in the back in the back room and asked me where the restroom is. They switch clothing and so you don't see them, but they change clothes cuz the first lady that comes in, she'll have the sheer thing on and the other lady does not. But they took like 91 items to $2,300. So, we called the stores in the area and apparently they were in Hope Sound, but because we had called them like the cashiers and stuff that were they didn't take anything. So they were in Hopetown after >> they were in Hopetown. Yeah. >> So after you called. >> Yep. >> So >> you see what kind of car they got in? >> It was like a newer gray um minivan. >> Officers later tracked the suspect's car to another store. But the real shock came when they popped open the trunk and saw what was inside. >> Okay. >> See, he's telling me that a lot of stuff. They're both they don't speak English, but then when you talk, they'll interject if you say something they don't agree with. So, they know English. >> Yeah. I don't know who they are. >> Another pair. Thank you. South 3196. >> Yeah. >> Lords and Sator were charged with felony retail theft and concert with others in commission of theft. And they were held on a $15,000 bond and fined $3,000 as the case is still pending.
