On October 5th, 2025, watch what happens when a routine traffic stop quickly escalates after a driver believes he can outsmart law enforcement. >> Turn your siren on. Turn your siren on. >> Yeah, keep your siren on. All right, turn it to the south. >> On foot, on foot, on foot, on foot, on foot. >> 10-4, I'm on foot. Okay, 10-4, I'm on foot. Back towards the camper. Stay right there. All right, Tater, I got the front. >> Where'd he go? Where'd he go? >> 10-10, I don't know. >> Okay, go back there. Keep perimeter back there. >> Okay. >> Do we have a drone? >> I believe we have a drone. I'm working on calling out a canine. >> All right, perimeter points, we need uh Diane covered because he was last seen running east from the back of this property. So, we need at least Diane covered and uh Catherine and 80. >> 10-4, your perimeter points are Diane Street and Catherine Street. >> Correction, I think I said he ran east. He ran south from the backside of his residence, south. >> I saw him last seen running south back of his his residence. >> He didn't come this way. I haven't seen him. >> You haven't seen him? >> No, ma'am. >> Okay, keep your eyes out. >> Hey Alpha 111, 53. >> 24 to 311, what is he wearing? >> It was dark colored clothing when he bailed out, that's all I could tell. >> I'm going to work my way to Catherine. >> If he didn't run into the camper, we're going to I think have him pinned down in these woods, but I don't know if he got into the camper. And just for all the units on scene or that are going to respond, he's got tons of cameras on this property and he can remotely watch them through his phone. 314, just 314, when I was running around to the front, there was a female that was outside. I don't know if you even encountered her or not. It's just so you know. I don't know where she went off to. >> 14 still in the backyard. Right at the corner of the backyard and he took off in this direction. >> Copy. Did you actually see him go in the woodline? I couldn't I couldn't tell if he circled into the I think there should be a camper back there or actually went in the woodline. 311 to 110, K9 should be able to have a good track. We didn't disturb it, so hopefully that'll let us know if he went in the woods. >> 14. >> Thanks. >> 24 to 23, You to swap spots with me and I can be up front. >> I'll put one here, down. >> Throw your floodlights on? >> Yeah, I got them. >> So, last that he pulled in behind there, bailed out this way. There is a camper behind us, so we don't know. This neighbor said he hasn't heard anything. Nobody cuz he heard us or whatever, so no one's gone south. >> Okay. >> So, um there's a female on the property. His mom is elderly that lives in that camper. >> this one had a >> Not the truck. There's a It was in the camper behind it. Yeah, she stays in that. >> If it's Wayne Dameron who we're looking for then >> Yeah, correct. Yeah, so he's got a lengthy history. >> know. I arrested him, so I know. >> So, um >> All right. He He likes to He likes to >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, we don't know what's in the truck or anything like that. That's why Tater's staying with that. I know he um confident, you know, unless he snuck back around that way, he hasn't gone that way. So, we got two options with the canine. We can either A, start giving announcements right now. I mean, canine's going to give them whenever they get here or um I almost I mean, I almost think not because if he thinks canine's coming, he might try to bolt and run. If we have him locked down then, you know, what if he just just wait until the canine starts giving announcements cuz I don't want him to bolt and break our perimeter. >> Oh, yeah. >> So, I'm thinking maybe that's the best option. I mean, tell me if you feel any different. >> I feel I feel the same way. He knows this area very well. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he's got cameras. There's a camera up in that one uh right to the right in that cedar tree just inside the fence line. >> Okay. >> So, >> He's got a one of those outdoor cameras with the >> Yeah, he can remotely move them, too. So, >> Somebody back there? >> That's That's uh Tater. That's uh the owner. >> All right. All right. >> So, if you guys want to hang out here, I'll just push a little bit further that way. If you just keep eyes here, I'll push a little bit further this way. >> Person ran in here? >> The what? >> On the other side of the street, the person that we were looking for. >> Okay. >> Um have you seen anyone come through? >> I have not. No, I was actually laying in bed. My dogs did go start barking. I'm I'm deaf, so I can't really hear. >> Oh, I'm sorry. >> Uh, no, I could hear them barking. I was like, my dogs. I can hear the vibration of them barking. So, I had to find my hearing aids. So, I'm sorry that took a minute. But, um, no, I haven't seen anybody. No. >> Okay. >> am aware of what it looks like in back there. No. >> Okay. So, if anything's if uh anything if anyone stands out, we're just looking for an older white man. So, I'm sorry if I'm flashing my >> Okay, now you're going to I'm like, what's going on? Is that cop or something? I didn't know you needed me. So, >> I'm sorry. I do have a camera facing that way. I can look and see, but I haven't gotten any motion sensors >> Um, do you mind if you can pull it up? >> Yeah. I don't know if people can see in there. I'm not sure which way it's facing. >> So, you're on >> No, you're good. >> Oh, I think they got him. >> They got him? >> Yep. I appreciate your help, man. >> Okay, you're welcome. >> Thank you so much. >> You're [clears throat] welcome. No worries. >> No, have a good night. Hey, PUT YOUR HANDS UP! PUT YOUR HANDS UP! GET ON THE GROUND! GET ON THE GROUND! [screaming] DON'T MOVE NORTH ON THE PROPERTY. GET ON THE GROUND! GET ON THE GROUND! GET ON THE GROUND! LAY ON THE GROUND! LAY ON THE GROUND! LAY ON THE GROUND! GET ON THE GROUND! >> I'M NOT ON >> LAST CHANCE! GET ON THE GROUND! >> I'M NOT ON >> LAY ON THE GROUND! DON'T MOVE! >> I'M NOT ON >> DON'T MOVE! GET ON THE GROUND! GET ON THE GROUND! Lay on your stomach! Lay on your stomach now! PUT YOUR HANDS OUT! GET ON YOUR STOMACH! HANDS OUT LIKE AN AIRPLANE! >> HERE, MAN. COME ON, MAN. Over a misdemeanor. I ain't done nothing, guys. Come on, man. I didn't do anything, guys. Don't break my arm, don't break my arm, man. Please don't break my god damn arm. >> 11671, it's got to >> I come out. I wasn't trying to hide from y'all. >> What were you doing? You tried to run? >> No. >> That's what you get. You guys >> I just had to get home. I was afraid you guys would take my truck. >> Get up. Come on. >> Well, let me help me, man. >> Well, get up, man. >> I'm trying. Oh god. Come on, man. >> misdemeanor Hold that dude over a misdemeanor, y'all. All right, let me get my stuff out of my pocket. You can search. >> Yeah, you can search. Like his backseat, I got equipment in it. So, can we put him in somebody else's backseat? >> got it. We got it. Officer Prevatt >> You got it. Just give me a sec, please. >> I'm not going to run. I'm no danger. I'm no >> Why were you running in the first place, man? >> Huh? >> Why were you running in the first place? >> wanted to get my truck in the yard. >> I see it. >> Brother, look. >> Brother, then why don't you get out right here? Why'd you take off on me? >> I was just going to get out. >> Just get out and what? What are you going to do you? >> Who's going to take care of my mom and brother? >> We'll talk to them and figure it out, all right? >> Let's get him out, Frank. >> I got you, Frank. >> We're going to get him out of the car. >> We're going to get >> Can I give her Can I give her everything in my pocket? >> Yeah, we'll we'll figure all that out once we get over there, all right? >> Got it. We got it. Officer Prevatt >> Ma'am, can you just step out there? We got to walk in this way. >> I'm not going to run. I'm no danger. >> All right, I'm going to I'll keep eyes on the truck. >> I'm driving there by myself. >> I'll look for it and >> So, officer, um you know why he's going to jail, I would assume, right? >> Um DUI >> Yeah, so then he decided to run. He made a misdemeanor into felony, right? Driving without any lights on, running from the police. Um Then he runs, and then he bails out. Yeah, so all he has is the misdemeanor, and now he's turned it into a felony. We're probably going to be looking at seizing that vehicle, too. >> How far did he Where was he at when he got out? >> Oh, well, at old Rachel's house. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. >> That's great. >> Shocker, right? >> Yeah. >> Having her kid act as a lookout, too, using her kid. It's >> Yeah, I I'm pretty sure she's the whole reason that he has these charges in the first place. >> I don't know if these were from him or I think these may have been from Jolene. >> No, well, the new charges are from Jolene. They made him have to take the probation. They made him take the probation. They said they're going to revoke his bond if he didn't. And he didn't know any better that they they couldn't do that, so he took it. But yeah, that's from some kind of >> So, where where where where did he Where Where come out of? Where was he hiding at? >> Um I he must have been up here somewhere. >> Somewhere? Okay. >> Yeah, cuz he was right I see he came out in front of this lawnmower. >> Okay. >> But he was way over The guy was way over there when I heard him say freeze and that's where I looked where the light was. >> Okay. Yeah, it's a junkyard back here, ain't it? Huh? >> Yeah, I'm surprised. >> Was his mom still staying Is his mom staying back there? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah, she's probably Well, they talked to her a minute ago. >> Oh, she probably don't even know what's going on. >> she said something cuz she's like, you know, got dementia and so she said something to me earlier when I brought her food, she said "Was that Dwayne with the with the cops earlier?" And I'm like, "There was no cops and no Dwayne. I don't know what you're talking about." You know, she says that a lot. She'll wake up and say, "Who was here with the cops last night?" And I'm like, "Nobody." >> Um, is there anybody else on the property besides you, her? >> just me, her, and >> Dwayne just He don't learn, does he? Just >> No, I'm probably I mean, I I think he I don't think he thinks >> That's so stupid, bro. So, what do you think he's going to learn from police? What do you think is going to happen? >> Yeah. And you know, I mean, he could have even I mean, he could have even like he could have even like hopped out once he got it to the close enough, you know, like you guys weren't going to You guys that >> We know who he was, you know, he's not going to run from us, you know, it's not going to like >> You know. >> You know, now now he made it into a big deal, so now now he's going to, you know, we're going to we're going to do everything we can. Every >> He planned to turn his his self in. >> Well, yeah, obviously he didn't plan really plan on it because he was running from us, so obviously his plan wasn't a You know, he wasn't >> Yeah. >> He doesn't really want that. >> I came back. Okay. I didn't I didn't I didn't go anywhere. >> No, I found you. That's what happened. >> I don't know. I walked back there. I stayed here. >> Stand by. >> I got a flashlight on my neck, yo. >> That's fine. We're going to We're going to check it. >> I'm telling you, I'm all good. >> Sir, you have anything on you? Spread your feet apart for me. >> You know, man, I'm not doing anything. I know I have no, man. But I don't have one on me, I guess. >> Do you have [clears throat] a firearm? >> No, ma'am. Dude, I was I was >> Go ahead. Wide your stance. >> I didn't want I didn't I didn't know go half a mile y'all go ahead and do your chance I'm going to go all right don't worry about that. Just hold your foot up yes man there's nothing in there I have nothing else on me well you know if you go to jail and they find anything at the jail they're going to charge you all right all right I understand I don't want to try to put your shirt on I'll hold it just put your foot down put the top of the boot if you don't it's not going to go in I might need you one to get my car out of here. Pockets and everything front pocket back pocket shirt pocket it's all clear. Here have a seat grab my chain for me please don't worry about the chain you'll get that back have a seat carefully unfold that real quick and check it we'll we'll get you we're going to we're going to you're going to be out of here in a few minutes have a seat yeah hey we'll figure out we're not worried about it right now sit in the car okay get your feet in the car no one's killing you sit in the car stand by. I know she will provide we will put this yeah of course yeah do your thing he had money in his pocket carefully unfold that I found nothing money with me yes thank you it'd be normal it'd be normal for him so. Well I'm glad I'm in with my two year old things knowing where he was at where he's not supposed to be at and the girl that got him in trouble he goes back to her I don't understand that why does he always go back to her I don't know same reason I keep going back to him it is stupid. >> [snorts] >> And he says he don't talk to her no more and blah blah blah yeah yeah yeah I bet she I ain't you know if she she'd love to know that I'm here I'm sure that's that's what probably caused all the fights in the first place cuz he thinks he can have two girlfriends but I I how my guy ever thinks that's going to work out. >> I know. >> You know, unless the two girls are >> He lives there. It's too close. >> And unless the two girls are okay with it, but like if they ain't, like how does he think that's going to work out? It just ain't. >> Mhm. Yeah, I mean I just found out about I didn't even know about the whole charge that he's under probation for until he I just found out the other day. I mean he made me find out by reading a letter and I'm like, what? >> 311 on 3. Yeah, affirmative. Um just so many can stay out there, whoever has them in their car. I need another person here. We can start inventorying the vehicle and seeing about um possible asset forfeiture. >> What does that mean? >> Taking it. Making it the Sheriff's Office property. >> Uh he's in 314's car. >> He's in a commission of a felony. He's in a commission of a felony. >> Probation tested. >> I don't care. Our sheriff don't care. >> And who makes that decision? >> Sheriff's Office. Sheriff does and then our attorney uh files the paperwork and then our attorney our um Sheriff's Office attorney uh does all the court proceedings for that. >> Don't like I mean does nobody see how like the system's like how backwards it is of like how Yeah, I know we keep arresting people and like they keep getting out. So then like then they'll get arrested for something and they take their driver's license. With their driver's license they put them on probation with no driver's license. It's like a revolving door cuz they have no How do you get to work with no You know how all these things I mean it's getting better nowadays with Uber and all these things, but before for Flagler County they don't have nothing for for transportation stuff. So if you didn't have a vehicle you're screwed. Like so taking someone's driver's license I mean that's how >> Yeah, but then when you But here's when you start committing crimes in the vehicle that's when that's when you put yourself at risk of getting your stuff taken when you start committing crimes in a vehicle felony crimes. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, and that's just a felony so >> I know everything happens so fast. I jumped out of that stuff cuz I didn't you know. I know we pulled vehicles out of here before in this mud and Yeah, it's pretty muddy back here. I was like I jumped back as far as I could as a minute. see. So he must have must have not hit the wood line to circle around. He must have just circled around. Okay. Uh-huh. Okay. You got me dirty, Tater. I am dirty. Do you see how dirty I am? You got me, Tater? That is. You got me This is how dirty I am. That's your driveway, man, with the door open. You got me dirty as heck. Oh, you [laughter] did. Hey, you got me dirty. You got up before you got wet. >> [laughter] >> Um where's your shirt? Is your shirt uh Oh, okay. Cuz it got to get through him to go through the watch commander for the asset seizure forfeiture. Cuz he's using commission of filing. It's not an arrestable offense, but still using commission of filing. So um Yeah. Yeah. 100% inventory it. And um Oh, yeah. Yes, sir. Well, even if it wasn't, he ran from us. It doesn't matter. He ran from us. Yeah, it's This is getting towed. One way or another, it's leaving the property. It says where is it going? To the tow yard or the sheriff's office yard. Yeah. >> [laughter] >> All right. You just want to hang out in the camper, all right? Yeah. Just hang out in the camper. I mean, we're just going to be here for a little while going through the pickup truck, getting it towed out, maybe getting this getting this patrol car towed out. Ah, won't be the first roach-infested vehicle that we've gone through. He's No, whatever he has in his pocket is going with him to jail. If he wants to turn it over to you, then he can do that. Inmate release form to what whatever he needs to do and you can pick it up from the jail, but >> I think it's just some cash that was in his pocket. That's what I was told. >> Muting discussion. You muted. >> After officers conduct a thorough search of the vehicle and find nothing illegal, questions begin to arise about why he fled in the first place and the car is towed while Dwayne is transported to the county jail.
