Hey, ma'am. Excuse me. You're the tank. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> How's it going? We can go in here and talk. >> We're going to walk in there. Stop. Do it. >> Did you steal the socks? >> I took the socks up. The socks was already open. I said, "Okay, it's free socks." This genius shoplifter thought her logic made perfect sense until she came across this nononsense cop. >> We're not calling you about quick seconds going to some cops and going to a cop. Cut the bullit out. Answer the man question. >> On January 16th, 2023, a woman in West Palm Beach, Florida, tried to outsmart Walmart's system because of a pair of socks. But she wasn't as smart as she imagined because the store's employees got wind of her plans and secretly called the cops. >> How you doing? Better come back inside the store. >> For what? >> What you mean? I just paid for every thing. What you mean? What? I pay for I came here. So >> just go back inside unless you unless unless part of a part of it. >> Give me the purse, >> bro. Don't start. You don't got a grip. >> Go back up, man. >> Okay. Stay right there. Unless you Unless you want to be a part of the stock, bro. >> Okay. >> Did you steal the socks? >> Bro, I took the socks up. The socks was already open. I said, "Okay, it's free socks. There's no tag on it." I'm scanning at the register. and came back and she say, "We'll get another one." So I did. I scanned. I put in my bag. I show my >> You scanned. You scanned. >> I was right there. I sc >> So these This is going to be on your receipt that you just had. >> It's going to be on my receipt. I pay for it, too. You going to pay for it? >> No. If you already paid for it, I'm going to get the receipt. >> Okay. So, who going to get it? It's already for Okay, cool. Pay for it. >> No, no, no. is only it's either on the receipt or it's not on the receipt. Is it on the receipt? >> It's not on my receipt. You >> pay for it. >> I watched you put it in your purse. >> Okay. So, you want me to pay for it? >> I know you pay for it at court. >> By admitting to shoplifting, the right to decide how things would end rest with Walmart. But the suspect decided it wasn't worth the wait. Instead, she tried to twist everything into a loud sob story, believing her confidence and tears would obviously get her out of any mess. But all she was doing was setting herself and her partner up for even more problems. That's when the officer calmly hit her with reality. And none of her dramatic display would work. Ma'am, >> stop me. >> You're being stopped right now for shoplifting. Please hang up the phone. Okay. >> Stop. Stop for a stick on my phone. >> Can you open up a 665 at the Walmart? I have a female to send in the office. Can you start another roll? Have a seat right here. privacy. >> Privacy, >> we're going to be in the AP office. Um, the boyfriend is outside knocking on the door. >> Her screams were so loud and alarming that the boyfriend believed she was in danger. And like any man in love, he jumped in like a knight in hoodie armor, ready to save his damsel in distress with everything he has. Sadly for him, it wasn't good enough. It wasn't even close. All he did was make a bad situation even worse. At that point, a trespass shoplifting ticket that started because of a pair of socks was about to turn into a felony. Don't touch me. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me. [Applause] Get back. Get back. Get back. Careful. [Applause] Going up. [Applause] Please don't take him to jail. I tried my best. You know me. We don't have nowhere to go. >> With all the heat and aggression resolved, the young knight started his own investigation only to find out that she wasn't being threatened. In fact, the only danger she was in was from herself. >> What happened? >> Well, if she would have been acting like an idiot and listen to what I was telling you. >> No, you Oh, man. I'm bad. >> You didn't tell me nothing. I'm hearing her crying. I'm thinking she freaking out. I don't know what's going on. I'm hearing her cry. That's all I'm hearing. I want to know what's going on. >> Tell me that she stole some stuff. >> I didn't know she stole nothing. >> Okay. But I told you that she did. >> You didn't tell me that. Never told me that. >> I did. >> No, you didn't. >> Right here at this store. That's >> told me that. You didn't tell me nothing. You said give her back to give her back the purse. That's all you told me. I never knew she took anything, bro. >> Yeah. Put your feet inside. I'm going to take you to the county. You going to jail. Put your feet inside. >> Going to jail for Put your feet inside. >> You going to jail for? You going to tell my child? >> Put your feet inside, sir. No, I don't. Put your feet inside. >> Tell my child, >> Kevin. Put your feet inside the car. >> Put your foot up, man. >> Okay. Could you do me at least one favor, please? Bro, you could you could please give my gun number. I thought you were going to jail. That's it. That's all I >> All right. Put your feet in the car. I'll come back and talk to you. >> All right. Pete, well, just talk to me, bro. >> While he was getting tackled, the main cause of the whole problem doubled down on her crying act. Claimless homelessness and motherhood begging for sympathy. But the officers weren't buying it. They didn't have the patience for a pity party. What the cops needed were answers. >> Britney, you got to stop crying. I can't hear you. >> I don't know where to go. >> The stars ride. Cut the [ __ ] out. Answer the man question. >> What is your middle name? >> What is What is your last name? We're not calling cuz you're about a quick second going into some cops and going to a car. Cut the [ __ ] out. Answer the man question. >> What is your last name? >> What you got? Uh, >> stop. >> Come on. Stand up. Ask a question. Please, please, please, please, please, can I call my mom, please? >> No. How about you answer the man question? >> I did. My lesson. >> Hey, Siri, please, please, please, please. >> Finally, it dawned on her that this wasn't a game. She could either act like an adult or be treated like a child. For once, throughout the whole ordeal, she finally made a sensible choice. But you know he got riled up because of the way you were acting initially. He was feeding into the way you were acting because when you went and you put the stuff in your purse, you did it in between the clothing rack over there. Right. So necessarily he didn't see you do it, but he saw you leave with the stuff and then you came back without it. Okay. So I I I've been dating people for a long time. I know you probably been dating him for a while. So I'm pretty sure that he knew that you stole the stuff. It's it's neither here nor there, right? But however, you should have told him when I stopped you at the door and I told you, "Let's not do all this. Let's just go back inside, right?" Because I've been doing this for a long time. So, when I stop you, I already know you have it. I'm not going to stop the wrong person. And then I'm talking to you with common sense like, "Let's just go back inside. Let's handle this cuz I already know. I'm just going to give you a ticket." But again, that that so that situation with you all being homeless, I understand that. I was homeless, too, at one point when I was younger. But that still doesn't change the fact of how you carry on in the store today. That's what we're talking about. >> He's going to put you in his car. >> You're buying 200 [ __ ] talk. >> A little investigation showed she already had outstanding warrants. In the end, she was arrested for shoplifting and given the grace to resolve her other legal issues. Her knight was charged with resisting arrests, facing up to a year in jail or $1,000 fine. All because she thought stealing socks was worth the risk. But when you think shoplifterss couldn't get any louder or dumber, Florida gave us another genius couple who thought they could outsmart the cops. >> All right. So, who are you in in the mall? >> I'm not telling you anything. >> You're not. >> You're not telling us. >> I don't have an ID. >> What's your name? >> I'm not telling you. >> On September 27th, 2023, Florida cops were called after a couple stole merchandise from a store and ran. When officers finally caught up to the girlfriend, she was completely out of breath. But that didn't stop her from making the dumbest decision any shoplifter can make. Because instead of complying with the cops, she decided to show how much of a genius she was. >> What's going on? Nothing. >> 10 12 some female. >> Scared. >> Scared of what? What's your name? What's your name? >> I don't have a name. >> You don't have a name? What's going on? Hey, excuse me. Sam, >> don't touch me. >> What's going on? Nothing. >> Did you see somebody? Why are you hiding? >> Because you guys were running after me. Okay. >> We were running after you. >> Yeah, cuz you guys told me to stop and then you guys were running after >> Where's your boyfriend, buddy? >> I don't know. >> 161 PGA. >> Female 1012 with your boyfriend. Who was the go? >> I don't have a boyfriend. >> All right. So, who are you with in the mall? I'm not telling you anything. >> You're not telling us. >> Instead of answering the officer's questions, she lectured them on how to do their jobs, claiming they aren't allowed to use canines to track down her beloved boyfriend. And if that wasn't enough, she took things a step further, claiming they cannot detain her, completely ignoring the fact that she had just committed a serious crime. But that little performance didn't last long. The moment officers got tired of her act, they told her exactly what was coming and they delivered 100%. >> Hey, ma'am. Excuse me. >> You're detain. Get to the ground. Get to the ground. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> I'm going to tase you. Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands >> Put your hands behind your back. Get tased. Put your hands behind your back. Put your hands behind your back now. >> Put your hands behind your back now. >> Put your hands. >> Put your hands behind your back now. >> Now you're going to jail for resistance. >> I don't have an ID. >> What's your name? >> I'm not telling you. >> Okay. Almost there. >> Stay there. Stay there if you don't want to stand. >> It seems all her love fueled resistance was useless because while she was running her mouth, other officers were busy hunting down the boyfriend she desperately was trying to protect. And when they caught him, he didn't just get arrested. He got a shock of a lifetime. Hey, he's jumping now. I'm going to tase you. I'm going to tase you. Take him. >> Get down. Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back now. >> You got your handcuffs. >> Handcuffs. >> I don't have I got handcuffs right here. >> Get him. I got handcuffs. Get his hand on the back. Give me other hand. Hey, let them know we got one detained. >> We got him in custody. >> No weapons. >> Are those those it right there? >> No weapons. >> All for that. >> No weapons. >> All for all that. Don't terrify. >> Well, we got resistance charges, too. >> Yeah, we got fire rescue coming for you, buddy. All right. >> Hey, you know how you avoid all these problems? >> Don't do it. I should listen to her. That's my fault. She told me not to. She told me not to. >> She told me not to. >> She told me not to. All right. You feel all right? >> Is she all right? >> Are you all right? >> She's all right. I'm good. >> Yeah, she's all right. >> I'm fine. Oh, man. >> All right. >> That that that taser felt good. >> Well, I'm been out here, bro. I've been out here. >> Let me see your eyes. Let me see. >> I'm sober. >> Are you 100% sober? >> I swear to God. I'm my daughter. >> All right. I just want to make sure. >> Is she all right? >> She's got I heard ass breaking. No, I'm trying to take it. Just put the top. >> This one? Yeah. >> After all the running and resisting, the suspects were given medical attention. Then they were charged with theft and resisting arrest, which could add up to a year in jail. Unlike the last shoplifterss who ran for their lives, this guy actually got away. Then he came back to flex on the cops. But that ego didn't last long. >> You've been following back and forth with this guy. Go. >> Just come outside. You're going to make a deal. >> Why? because we're done with you. >> On the 25th of September 2022, a guy in Lacus, New Mexico, walked into Walmart for free shopping. First, he tore open brand new duffel bags. Then, he stuffed them full of merchandise. What he didn't know was that the police were already watching every single move he made. And they had a nasty little surprise waiting for him. >> He's going through checkouts. Okay. Let me know if he blows past. How's it going? We can go in here and talk. You're going to walk in there. Stop. Stop fighting. He really thought he had escaped, but the boys in blue don't give up that easily. Right when he thought he was home free, more officers popped out of nowhere to hunt him down. [Music] Stop now. Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. Put your ass behind your back. Hurry up. Get the ground. There's a guy out there making your hand behind your back to you guys. >> Put your hand behind your back. I got it. Thank you guys. I want to tell you 96. >> Can I please talk to you? >> Normally, that should have been the end of the story, but the officers purposefully held off one very important arrest. That little pause made the sidekick think he was untouchable. He even tried flexing on the officers, acting like the smartest guy in them all. But his loudmouth swagger was about to earn him a prize he couldn't escape. >> Man, you said you were walking your friends. Take off. >> I know my girlfriend. >> Take off. You've been following back and forth with this guy. Go. I know you're with him. >> Leave. >> Okay. I pay for my I got money in my pocket. >> Leave. >> All right. You can walk around and away. >> Touch me, too. >> Run with you, ho. I'm telling my girlfriend to get a car key. >> This He was with him. >> You need to walk away from me, man. >> You need to go >> for my girlfriend, man. >> You're staying right with me everywhere I go. >> No, I'm going this way, mother. Get my girlfriend for the car key. The [ __ ] wrong with you, man? >> You want him in the store? >> You want him in the store? >> No. >> Just come outside. >> Why? >> Because we're done with you. >> Hey, look. I'm calling you, bro. Hey, look. I'll resist, man. Look. >> They got me right here in the front. They're handcuffing me, too. >> Stop. >> They're right here. Just come. I'm running. Grab his car. >> I'm running outside. >> Okay, we're going outside cuz they're handcuffing me for no reason cuz I went to go get you. >> Oh my god. What? What is that doing? just nowhere >> and you decided that you didn't want >> There she is. Man, >> there she is. >> Obviously, the cocky attitude didn't last long. One arrest later, the loudmouth accomplice was silent. But the main suspect, he still wasn't done being stupid because while he was planning to commit shoplifting, he came loaded with yet another crime in his pocket. >> Sir, he just got his keys. Okay, hold on. Let me figure it out. >> Am I fine? Like, >> I don't know yet. >> But if you want to be fine with me, listen to what I say. >> I'll be fine with you, >> please. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Put your legs up, please. >> Can't believe it. >> Yeah. Oh my god. >> Like, you could ask the last prevention guy. He's This these are his car keys here. >> Okay. Put your legs in, please. >> You want to act like a kid? That's cool. I'll treat you like a kid. >> True. Put your feet in. Hold on. Blow my hands, you idiot. >> He's got five pills. >> Oh, yeah. Metro, >> rocks, >> and um several >> bits of powder. We're waiting to get the final amount. See if it's felony or not. Also, >> since the value of the goods stolen was around $700, the massive thief was facing four felony, which are shoplifting, conspiracy to shoplift, drug trafficking, and possession of illicit substances. He was also charged with resisting the officer during the arrest. His accomplice was charged with felony shoplifting and conspiracy to commit shoplifting. Unfortunately, on the 21st of November, 2022, the New Mexico District Attorney dropped all the charges against the two suspects. But at least the suspects made it out alive. The same can't be said for the next suspect. She's going to be out. >> On the 24th of August 2023, a Blenden Township police officer in Ohio tried to interrogate a pregnant woman who was suspected of shoplifting. The problem was that the suspect identified as 21-year-old Tea Young was already in her vehicle and had no intention of getting out. That singular decision was about to cost her everything. >> The car. Out of the car. in service. >> Out of the car, back in service 1828. Get out of the car. >> Then then get out. No. Then get out. >> Get out of the car. >> The officer released a single shot, hitting her in her chest. That was when the other officer jumped in to salvage the situation and save her life. >> We're going to have a 34 on. She's going to be out. >> Unfortunately, Miss Young didn't make it, which is why the 29-year-old officer identified as Connor Grub was charged with multiple counts of unaliving and committing a felonious attack. A Franklin County grand jury made it clear that Connor had other options. They believed a sensible way to avoid a vehicle was by getting out of the way, not using his firearm. This means the officer could be removed from paid administrative leave and a warrant for his arrest has been issued. While the last ended unfairly, the next suspect tested every ounce of the officer's patience and she got the consequences. >> On the 30th of March 2022, a woman walked into a Walmart in Florida with a brick, scaring customers. By the time cops arrived, she had traded it for a knife and was putting on a dangerous show of force in the clothing aisle. >> Drop it now. >> Drop the knife. >> Drop the knife now. >> Drop it now. >> Put it down. >> Put it down. Drop the knife now. >> Drop the knife. >> God damn it. >> So y'all kidnapping me. >> You got it. It was later discovered that the suspect, 32-year-old Brandy McGawan, consumed 4 g of methamphetamine, which explains her dangerously insane behavior. Because of that, her little shopping trip ended with a felony charge of attacking with a deadly weapon.
