What law have I broken? >> Do you have fictitious plates on this vehicle? >> What law have I broken >> that I just told you? >> How are they fictitious? When told he isn't free to leave, he reacts by attempting to move the vehicle anyway. And that decision quickly forces the situation into a direction officers had already anticipated. >> Come out here and I'll talk to you. The VIN on the plate doesn't match this. >> Is there a supervisor that I can speak to? Because right now I feel like I'm getting my >> There is not. >> I'm I'm getting my rights. >> All right, sir. >> Hold on. I'm giving I'm giving him a chance. >> Hold on. I told you you were not free to leave while I was investigating this. I warned you about this stuff. This is what I'm saying. >> No, that's what I'm saying. >> They were on the back. >> Now I'm calm. I'm calm. I'm relaxed. I'm asking for. >> Even after being stopped again, he continues arguing, demanding explanations and a supervisor while insisting he's done nothing wrong. And the interaction keeps moving further away from being resolved calmly. >> I haven't broke any laws. You guys are trespassing on me. Sergeant Okonnell. >> Thank you. Thank you, ma'am. Thank you, ma'am, for taping. >> Yep. The probable cause, the probable cause is the Secretary of State and the Illinois State Legislature, say we can walk around this parking lot and run every single license plate if we want to. Okay? We don't need probable cause to run your license plate, sir. Okay. What's your next question concerning the law? >> I haven't broken you up. >> As officers continue explaining the situation, he refuses to accept their reasoning, repeating the same claims while beginning to turn his focus toward accusing them instead. Hey, my name is Casey. I'm a I'm a sergeant here. >> Okay. How's it going, Sergeant? >> It's going good. Uh, >> I haven't done anything illegal. I don't have to identify myself. >> So, >> I have identification. >> Okay. >> Do you mind if I get it? >> Right. I don't have to identify myself. I haven't I I definitely might. I don't do that. I have I have nothing going on. >> Okay. >> Uh I have Listen, >> you guys have weapons. I have no weapons. You have no reason to fear or to or to be uncomfortable >> at that point. After multiple warnings and attempts to move things forward, officers are left with little room to continue the interaction verbally as the situation reaches a point where they have to step in directly. >> As I can make it, if you step out, it'll make life a lot easier. >> I'm about to step out. >> I appreciate it. >> I'm not. >> That's right. You're You're welcome to live stream whatever you want to do. Just step out of the car. Okay. >> I'm not. >> Thank you very much. >> So, hold on. What are we doing? I don't want her touching me, though. So, y'all going to have another female officer. I just I literally just said that. >> All right, that's fine. Guido, can you go on the other side? >> That's fine. >> Yeah, she came. >> Hey, you know what? Get that young lady. Get that young lady name. Um, you're going to have everybody everybody's name. Don't worry. Sir, do you have an ID or anything? >> Call us to run any plate or any vent number. Do Do you have an ID on you or anything? >> I'm being searched illegally. >> Let's go this way. Right here in my car. Come on. >> I'm being searched illegally. My number is 708931. I'm going to need that video. He was later charged with possessing an altered registration, resisting law enforcement, and fleeing or attempting to evade police. Next, the self-proclaimed wronged party insisted she had grounds to sue the police for her arrest. >> You hurt my back. They got their >> You're hurting my back and I'm going to shoot every last one. >> Officers stopped a woman after receiving reports that her vehicle was swerving across the roadway. As the stop unfolded, officers were immediately hit by the strong smell of alcohol pouring from the vely admitted to having a beer or two at home, yet remained adamant that she wasn't impaired. But the moment officers ordered her out of the vehicle, she became more defensive than ever. Her attitude quickly shifted, speaking with an air of arrogance, as if she were the one in control. She even began citing her medical conditions in an apparent attempt to avoid the field sobriety test. She played her first card by insisting she was disabled. But that excuse wasn't going to get her very far because what came next was something she'd be required to do regardless enough to set her off. She even pulled out her phone recording while aggressively challenging officers who, according to her, knew nothing about her. And when the arrest order came down, her attitude only grew more hostile. Officers working together just to get her into the back of the patrol car. a clear sign of how fiercely she resisted. Even after arriving at jail, she remained stubborn, complaining and acting as though she had been wronged the entire time. As her later shows her blood alcohol level was above the legal limit, resulting in DUI and resisting arrest charges. Now, let's turn our attention to a man who thought he had the authority to turn a simple traffic stop into chaos. >> For the Are you the supervisor? >> Go ahead and have >> Are you the supervisor? >> Are you failing to identify yourself on a legal traffic stop? On May 16th, 2024, deputies conducted a traffic stop after noticing the driver's left tail light was completely out. Everything quickly escalated into tension when the driver became defiant. >> I'm Deputy Carol with Sheriff's Office. Can turn that down. Do you have your license, registration, and insurance for the vehicle? >> You the supervisor? >> Do you have the license, registration, and insurance for the vehicle? >> I do. Are you the supervisor? >> Go ahead and have >> Are you the supervisor? Are you failing to identify yourself on a legal traffic stop? >> He's asking doctor. >> I asked for a supervisor advisor. Y'all refusing me a supervisor. >> Refusing to identify refusing. >> And you refuse supervisor over a freaking tail light on >> And you refuse their supervisor. You send you send another one at least. >> Listen, it's a legal traffic stop. >> Instead of handing over his driver's license and registration, the driver immediately questioned the traffic stop and challenged the officer's authority. He demanded a supervisor. And even when one arrived, he still refused to cooperate. >> You want to speak to a supervisor? >> I'm the supervisor. So, do you have your driver's license and registration? >> Supervisor. Where's your band? >> Does that help you? >> No, don't. How do I know you're supervisor? >> They just showed you right there. >> Everything. >> Okay. Well, I'm the supervisor. I'm Sergeant Leven with the sheriff's office. How can I help? >> Call the police station. >> Okay. You have your driver's license and registration. >> Police station. >> Get out of the truck. >> Why? >> I'm verifying. >> I don't care. >> You're the supervisor. I just want to get out of the truck. >> No, we're not. >> Okay. I'll give you >> Get out of the truck. Watch out. >> Get out. Let me get out. I'm getting out. I'm getting Relax. Don't slam me. >> It's fine. It's fine, bro. Listen. >> Relax. Relax. >> This arm is broken. >> I don't care. Put your hands on. >> I just wanted to talk to the supervisor. >> No, you didn't. You want to play smartass and now you can go to jail. >> No. >> Can I tell you what? >> No, you can't. >> Is he going to let me >> Oh, watch that one. Watch that one. Please. >> That arm is broken. So, >> hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Can I Can you just time your front, please? >> No. >> No. >> This arm is broken. >> Quit resisting and you won't have a problem. >> I'm not resisting, dog. >> Look, can I just explain myself to you? >> Nope. >> You're the supervisor. >> I No, I'm not. Remember, >> I just I just say no. That's all. >> I showed you my sergeant. >> I don't know how to tell the sheriff's office. I'm not going to play games with you. Congratulations. You're going to jail. His stubbornness quickly cost him as he was forcibly removed from the vehicle. But even then, he still failed to grasp the seriousness of the situation, continuing to argue and play the victim. >> Anything I'm not, I'm tired. I just got off work, dude. That's all. >> Don't be a smartass and you don't have to worry about it. >> It's just Look, >> please let me just talk to you. >> There's rules on how stuff works. >> She told me that it the light was out. I did it. Yeah, they're not properly working. >> S I don't have nothing. >> Okay. >> What? What? Whatsoever going on? I just >> I'm tired. >> Come back here. >> I'm just trying to get home. >> That's all. >> Now you're going to go to jail and then you can go home. >> All right. Please. >> Because this isn't a game. >> I'm not trying to pull a game. >> Okay. Well, congratulations. Now you've met the sergeant and you can go to jail. >> Step yourself in the car. >> Please. Can I Can we just stop? >> I'm going to ask you one more time to step into the car or I'm going to put you in the car. Okay. >> Can we just call, please? >> Yeah, >> I'll talk to you in a minute. Get in the car. >> Can I Can I make a a call to my wife? >> Get in the car. I'm not going to ask you again. >> The story seemed to end there with a traffic ticket. After being released on bail, Juan Rivera decided to go big by filing a formal complaint with the police inspectorate and he was officially taken back to the station once again. >> I'm not doing >> I got a lawyer. I got you arrested. >> Why am I being Stop resisting? Stop. Stop it. >> Don't resist. >> Stop it. I'm not I'm not running nowhere. What's going on? >> You're warrant for your arrest for perjury. >> What's perjury? >> What is that? Can you >> I'm just making a false statement. >> Are you kidding? Take, please. >> Perjury for what? >> That's just what the warrant's for. You'll have to talk to the courts about that. >> Wow. So, a true statement that I have recorded from his arrest. >> Can I show you my my video officer, please? >> You're going to want to talk to your lawyer about that. All right. >> Yep. >> Wow. Wow. >> Can I get some shoes? >> Yeah. Can you get some You see, you have some sandals and the shoes. >> What do I do from here? >> He has a $50,000 bond. Um >> $50,000. >> So, he'll be up at the county branch. >> Oh, because the police don't want to get in trouble. >> Just hang tight, dude. Just stick here. Yeah. >> Watch your feet. Rivera is now facing perjury charges and is being held on a $50,000 bond. But the next arrogant driver would soon prove that ignoring police warnings can lead to consequences far beyond what anyone expects. >> Hey, stop. >> JANIAH, >> GET over there. >> Let me go. >> The incident began when an officer from the Bradley Police Department pulled over Janiah for a severe speeding violation. >> Hello, officer from the Bradley Police Department. Reason to stop your speed. >> Yeah. had you going 42 and a 20? >> You have a driver's license, proof of insurance on you? >> Yeah. >> You all good? >> Besides Texas row house, so I got to see it. >> Okay. >> Is it Jania? >> Janiah. >> Janiah, were you aware that your license was suspended? >> Who? >> Yours? >> My license is not suspended. >> Your license is not suspended. >> They can be suspended. >> Can't compete six. Can you confirm your license is suspended? Correct. Due to our department policy, we have to tell the vehicle if someone's license is suspended. We have to. We don't have a choice there. >> They have to I didn't even know my license was suspended. Now they got to tow the vehicle. >> There's no way. >> Is that why you could take it tow it to my house? >> No, it has to get towed. >> I have a question. Can I drive it? If I have a valid No, the vehicle has to be towed. >> Due to our department policy, we have to tow the vehicle. That's we have no say in that. If it was up to me, I would say yes, but it's it's department policy. >> The driver insisted her license was still valid despite officers informing her it appeared to be suspended in their system. And the moment she heard the vehicle was going to be towed, her entire demeanor changed. >> Ma'am, >> I don't even want to get talk to him cuz he getting smart. He talking about he going to tow the vehicle. >> It's I'm not being smart with you. I'm telling you what has to happen. >> Okay, hurry up, mom. By KCTC. by KCTC. >> Is she going to come pick you up? >> Why you got to call a vehicle? I like >> it's it's our department. >> My mom just h I'm This is so entertain y'all know how this go. >> This bag cannot get no like it. >> All right. So, can you just step out so I could explain the paperwork to you and everything? >> We're just going to have you step in front of my car. Okay. And you do have the right. You can fill out an appeal form. >> But it don't make sense. When I got pulled over the other day, he did not say that. He said, "Your insurance." I showed him the insurance. Everything was cool. He did not tell me my license was suspended. How the my license suspended? >> [ __ ] don't make sense. >> I'm going to explain this to you really quick. Okay. >> If I'm telling you it's >> not a requirement, >> okay, but I'm telling you, come on, man. >> That's him. He said he's talking to me. STOP TALKING TO ME. STOP talking to me, >> Janiah. Man, YOU CAN GO TO JAIL. Stop talking to me. >> Come on, bro. You tweaking, man. Damn. Ma'am, >> this isn't an admission of guilt or anything at all. This is just saying that we took control of the vehicle. >> Let me read it. >> That's what I wanted you to do in the first place. >> Okay, let me read on my own. >> Those are all carbon copies. It's all the same. >> All right, I can get sit down. >> Okay. The back and forth continued as she demanded answers, questioned their authority, and claimed she had never been properly notified. Instead of staying put while officers completed the process, she suddenly walked away, prompting them to move in and place her in handcuffs. >> Hey, just hang out back here with me, please. >> Hey, stop. >> Janiah, >> no. Stop. Stop. Do that. You're being detained. >> No. No. No. Please. No. >> What if I arrested her for? >> We're detaining her right now. We are just stay over there. SHE'S BEING DETAINED. >> LET ME GO. >> You don't want to get calm down. >> Calm down. Can you please take her, sir? Cuz he's not making her go >> right now. You're just being detained. >> Let me go. I don't want you touching me. >> We're going to let you get your stuff. He has to search the vehicle first. >> I have to do an inventory. >> Okay. I don't give a talking to me. >> Can you get my phone out the car, please? >> She tried to walk up to the vehicle when we were searching the vehicle. >> Stop. I'm not going nowhere. [screaming] Let me go. >> Stay right here then. Stay right here. >> SHUT THE MAMA. >> SHE SAID, "SHUT THE UP, MAN. YOU DOING TOO MUCH." He's searching the car and she started walking up on him while I was searching the car. >> Gino, I was not walking up on him. >> You were walking up to the driver's side of the car. >> Why was y'all calling all of them like I'm some mother? >> It's why black people do the [ __ ] THEY DO. >> CALL MY DADDY. >> This is my sergeant. If you want to talk to him. >> Yeah, I do. Come talk to you, Sergeant. >> Okay. So, I got pulled over. >> Put her in the car. We'll talk to her in the car. >> I don't want to get in the car. It's not an option. Get in the car, please. >> Stop. >> You robbed J on my phone. >> Did she get searched yet? >> No. >> Search. >> I don't have a woman's got to search me. He can't search me. >> We don't have a female. So, you're going to get searched. You need to relax. >> Tell my mama. You >> need to relax. I'm >> feeling you down with the back of my hand. Okay. >> I don't have >> Everyone that gets in our cars gets searched. Okay. Step to the side. >> Calm it down. Do >> you have anything else on you at all? Nothing? >> Nope. >> Okay, go ahead and sit down. >> I'll talk to you in just one second. Okay. All >> right. >> Get in the car, please. >> Tell me to get in the car. >> Got to be on hand and stuff. >> You want some help? >> No. >> Seat belt on. >> I'm just going to throw the seat belt on you. Okay. >> For what? >> We have to. We don't have any choices for that. >> We got to get the seat belt out of it. It was unclear why she kept resisting when all it did was make things worse. Once she was secured in the back of the patrol car, a sergeant arrived and offered her one last chance to fix the situation before it went any further. >> What's your name, young lady? >> Good night. >> What's going on? >> Okay, let me tell you. You know, so I got pulled over >> a couple weeks ago. >> And he was like, "Oh my." All right, cool. >> He didn't say nothing about my license being suspended or nothing. I'm going to court right now because >> Mhm. like a month ago, my um plates, they said my plates are expired. I just went to the DMV, >> like couple weeks ago, got new plates, got a new everything. Now they saying my license suspended, but nobody's never said that. >> Well, I just looked at your license and you are suspended. Okay. It looks like you got a ticket for no insurance and it looks like you got too many speeding tickets or something and and you're under 21. You can only get two tickets in a 24-month period, then you go suspend. >> So, here's the deal right now. Okay. Um, this officer over here, I just asked him what we're going to do and cuz right now it sounds like you were obstructing our police officers by walking up to the car and everything. Okay. >> That's an arrestable charge and so is driving suspended, >> but he said he doesn't think it's necessary to take you to the jail. >> So, if you want to calm down, sounds like you're going to get some citations, you'll be on your way. >> If you go to jail, well, we have to tow the car. That's We don't have a choice with that. That's a bill of >> No, we don't Key to >> We're not Cana Key, man. We're Bradley. >> I can tell. I know. Bradley is different. >> Yeah, I know. >> Can I get out this car >> in a second? Like I was just explaining to you right now, you committed two arrestable charges. >> I didn't do nothing. >> Driver was supposed to swim the license. Didn't even know that. >> Okay. And then you obstructed us, too. >> You talk about walking up on him. No, I was walking on the side of the driver. >> Did you Did you get told to stop? >> No. Until I was halfway to the car. >> Okay. >> At just 21, she seemed convinced she was in control and ignored the officer's final chance to resolve things. Then her family showed up and the scene exploded into another round of chaos. At this point, it felt like conflict was a family trait. >> Going to jail >> cuz she obstructed a police officer. She wasn't listening. She's going to jail. She had a chance. If she wanted to keep resisting, she's going to jail. >> Where she at, sir? >> She's in the back of that car and she's and you can stay right here. >> I just need to talk to her. I'm >> going to talk to her in a minute. Okay. You can stand right over there. We're out of We're in the middle of the road. >> You me, man. Who the that [ __ ] in her car? Godamn it. I didn't have nothing in her car. >> Megan didn't have >> I didn't even go in her car. I was in my market. >> She's got a She's got a stun gun in the car as well. She does not have a FOID card. That's another charge. >> She got that from the beauty supply shop, sir. >> A stun gun. You have >> I don't need you to talk. Let them talk to you. >> You have to have a Floyd card to have a stun gun in the state of Illinois. >> So why would they sell it then in the beauty supply? >> I don't understand. >> Here's the thing. Here's the thing. >> Anybody will sell you anything if you're going to give them money for it. It is up to you to know the laws and be responsible to understand them. >> Who take where y'all taking it to? >> 52 just >> I was trying to give her a chance to to not go to jail today. She don't want to hear it. She wants to say she didn't do nothing wrong. She's got an No. No. Here's the thing. She's an adult. She knows better. When the police tell you to stop, you stop. We're not playing this game. And I tried to talk her out of it. She wanted to keep it up. So now she's going to go to jail. Hopefully next time she learns. We're not going to play this game of we're going to sit out here and scream and get half the freaking county over here acting a fool. No, we don't act We are not going to act We are not going to act a fool and have no repercussions for it. >> Yes, ma'am. Everyone did. We have everyone's cameras are on. That's what the red dots are. Heel to toe fashion. Just like that. Okay. All right. Heel to toe. >> That's right. He >> uh right in front of left. All right. Heel to toe. Your arms at your side. All right. When I tell you to begin, you're going to pick one foot up. Either one, left or right. You can keep your legs straight, foot pointed out about 6 in above the ground like this. Okay. Oh, no. No, no. Okay. All right. And not yet. I didn't tell you to begin. I tell you. >> Okay. I tell you to begin. About 6 in above the ground. All right. You're going to leave it in that position. You're going to count 1,00 1,00200 3. What is going on? >> Can you put me on? >> No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's insane. I can do it if you want me to, but that's insane. >> What's insane? >> Well, whatever telling me to do. >> So, do you want to do it or not? >> I can do it, but I don't think this is a test for me to do it. It >> It is a test. >> No, it's not. >> Okay. >> Okay. Get it off cuz I want to get out of here. Come on, be realistic. I passed my test. Why are you doing this? I live right there down the street. >> This is the turning point. She's facing a DUI. Serious, but still manageable. The moment she resists, though, she upgrades her own charges. >> Why are you doing that? Give me a reason. Why, >> ma'am? >> But why? Give me a reason. >> Resisting. Stop resisting. You're under arrest. You're under arrest. YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. >> STOP RESISTING. STOP RESISTING. >> BUT WHY? I AM UNDER ARREST. >> STOP RESISTING. >> WHY? >> WHY? It just fasttracked her stubborn self straight to a jail cell. >> I didn't do nothing wrong. >> I don't do nothing wrong. >> Get in the car. >> Tell me what I did wrong. >> I will tell you once you get in the car. >> Listen. Can I >> No. No. No. No. You have no control here. It's over. I do. >> NO, YOU DON'T. >> I do. No, you don't. >> I didn't do nothing. You don't want >> I didn't do nothing wrong. >> I know you don't want to leave that car. You got two options. I know you don't want to go to jail. You're gonna go to headquarters which is in the center of town and you can go into my car and then you'll be home in four hours. >> What is wrong? >> Everything's on camera. Give me something. >> Huh? where they don't have to go. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. You don't control. >> I don't like you. >> I don't care. >> I don't like you guys. >> I don't like me. We We We We don't like each other. >> Okay. Stop doing that. >> All right. You have to walk. >> We don't control this. All right. You've been controlling everything all day. This is not the way you work. What's >> wrong with you? What did I do with you? >> You didn't do anything. >> You let me go. I don't want you to touch me. I didn't do nothing wrong. I'm not a criminal. What's wrong with you? Why are you teasing me like that? >> I don't want to touch you. >> You touch me right now. >> In the end, DUI, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer were the charges brought against the woman. Additionally, officers found an $11,000 outstanding warrant from West New York. Up next, watch how this intoxicated woman spirals, turning one bad decision into a chain of consequences she can't undo. >> I have an address. No, because you know what? I've been >> Sit in Sit in the car. sit in the car. >> On October 8th, 2023, officers were called to a parking lot after a gray BMW backed into a patrol vehicle. What should have been a minor incident quickly spiraled, not because of the damage, but because of how the driver chose to act next? >> Hello. >> Hi. How are you? >> Good. How are you doing? >> I'm fine. >> What's your first name? >> Elsie. >> Elsie. Okay. There's an A Monster Bar. Obviously, these officers called me here because they concerned maybe you had something to drink tonight. That was probably maybe more than two hours ago. >> Oh, was it? >> Yes. >> What did you have? >> Um, I took maybe half a beer. >> That was it? >> That was it. >> Okay. Are you on any medication? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Do you mind stepping out for me? >> You have any uh anything like physically wrong with you? Like any uh injuries, anything wrong with like your legs, your back, your knees? >> Nope. >> And you said you're not on any medications right now? You're perfectly healthy then. >> I'm healthy. I have anxiety, but besides that, I'm good. >> You on medication for that? >> I not tonight. I only take it when needed. >> Okay. Do you wear contacts? >> I wear glasses. >> All right. Can you stand with your feet together like this? Arms down at your side. What I'd like to do is begin by checking your eyes as part of some field exercises. >> Okay. >> You see the red light here in front of you? >> Absolutely. >> What I want you to do is follow that light with your eyes, keeping your head still as I move that light back and forth. Okay. Keep your head still. >> The roadside sobriety checks begin. And as most people know, the hardest part isn't doing the test. It's understanding and following the instructions. >> I just prefer that you don't ask questions while I'm giving the instructions cuz it's kind of hard for me to stop. All right. So, while I'm doing all of that, what I would like you to do is stand with your left foot at the very beginning of the line. Then take your right foot, place it in front of your left foot, so it touches heel to toe. Make sure both feet are on the line and one directly in front of the other. Place your arms to your side. Now, don't begin walking until I tell you to start. Okay? >> Okay. >> So, when I tell you to, I want you to take nine heel totoe steps, counting your steps out loud as you walk down the line. >> Okay? >> Turn around and then walk back down the line. Nine heel totoe steps counting your steps out loud. >> Okay? So [clears throat] your first step will be number one. And each step needs to be heel to toe like this. One, two, three, and so on until you get to nine. On your ninth step, I want you to leave your front foot on the line. Remove only your back foot, taking a series of small steps to complete a turn, just like this. And then you walk back down the line. Nine heel totoe steps, counting your steps out loud. One, two, three, and so on until you get to nine. >> Okay? So straight down, slowly turn, come down. >> Exactly. >> Count out loud. >> Exactly. So >> is this one or is the next one? >> So your first step will be number one. >> This one. >> Your first step will be number one. >> Okay. >> Okay. So while you do this, I'd like you to look at your feet as you walk. Count your steps out loud, keeping your arms down to your side, just like this. Don't stop walking until you've completely finished this. >> Okay. Do you have any other questions? >> No. Straight down. Slow turn back to you. No questions. >> Okay, you can begin then if you understand. >> One 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. Boom. 1. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. >> Okay. >> One leg stand. Jokes slip out. Numbers stumble. Balance waivers. The performance cracks as officers quietly take notes. >> Put your feet together, arms down to your side. You can forget about this line. We're not going to use it. Okay? I don't want you to do anything until I tell you right now. Okay? I'm just going to show you how to do this and explain everything. Okay? So, when I tell you to, I want you to raise one leg. Doesn't matter which one. I'm going to raise my left leg just cuz that's what I like to do. >> Raise it so it's about 6 in off of the ground. Point your toe straight out. Look at that foot and count out loud. 1,002 1,00 3 and so on until I tell you to stop. Okay? Make sure you keep both legs straight. Don't bend them at the knee. And if you put your foot down that, just pick it back up and continue counting from where you left off. You want me to balance right now? Okay. >> Is that a problem? >> No, we're working out. >> All right. Well, you see me doing it. >> You're a cop. >> Doesn't mean anything. >> Let's do it. >> All right. >> All right. >> Do you have any questions on how to do it? >> No. You just told me raise leg till you count. If I put my leg down, stop till you tell me. Keep counting. >> Well, if you put your if you put your foot down, I want you to pick it back up and continue counting um from where you left off. And you do that all on your own. Okay. >> Okay. 1001. You want me to count by,00? >> Yeah. 10,00 1. 10,002 etc. Yep. Any other questions? >> Nope. >> Okay. And begin when you're ready. >> Okay. >> 1,001. >> Make sure you're looking at your foot. 2 1,003 1,004 1,005 100,0008 1 9 1 >> Make sure you're looking at your foot. >> 1,345 1 >> and the right time has arrived. Decision made. DUI arrest. She's stunned. Disbelief flashes into irritation as cuffs come out. >> All right, you can stop. Go ahead and put your foot down. >> Put your arms behind your back. >> DUI. >> Driving under the influence. Do >> you have anything? >> Well, you did the exercises. You just didn't perform them how I asked you to. There's a lot of impairment that I observed during that leads me to believe you've been drinking a lot more than you you're telling me. When we get down to the jail, I am going to ask you to do a breath test. Are you willing to do that? >> Nope. >> All right. Come on. You don't have anything hidden on you, do you? >> Okay. Do you carry anything? Do you carry anything in your in your top? Any any cash? Any idea? Okay. Just make sure >> there was not but okay. All right, you stand right here. Face the relax your arms. She's going to search you in just a second. Okay. >> It seems the woman has no interest in letting this end quietly. She leans into a false sense of authority. Taking routine police actions as a personal insult. >> No, don't impound my car. There's people in there that can drive it. No, >> the car is in your name. We don't have a choice. But I have people in there. I don't even live over here. Like >> that was a whole >> You want to hear what I have to say or not? >> No, because what you want to impound my car for what? >> Like there's people in the car that can literally take my car where it needs to go. Like you guys are being extra. I barely even bumped that damn car. >> I've been more than >> Okay, back. >> Respectful. No, cuz I've been more than respectful. And >> you have. I appreciate that. >> I don't No, but can we talk? >> Yeah, we can. Well, you said you didn't want to hear what I had to say. >> Well, let's listen to it because there's no way. I don't even live over here and have them impound my car. >> We have to by by our policy. We can't release >> people here. >> I'm trying to tell you. I'm trying to tell you something. >> Have a seat. You don't want to listen to me. So, >> I'll bring you. >> Don't get an attitude. >> I have an attitude. No, because you know what? >> Have a seat. Sit in. Sit in the car. Sit in the car. I'm in the car. Sit in the car or I'm going to put you in the car. >> I'm sitting in the car and I'm trying to have a conversation. >> No, I'm trying to have >> Stand up. We're going to put you in the car if you don't listen. >> Touching on the car. >> Touching on for what? >> Battery. >> Battery for what? I haven't touched none of you guys. Even at this point, she refuses to back down. She declines the breath test, is warned about losing her driving privileges, asks for an attorney. >> So, I know you said you didn't want to take the breath test. >> I'm not going to. >> All right. I do have to read you something by law. >> Okay. So, if you refuse to take the test, I've requested of you your driving privilege will be suspended for a period of 1 year for a first refusal or 18 months if your driving privilege has been previously suspended for refusing to submit to a lawful test of your bre. >> Come on out. She would just stand right here for me. >> All right. See the door uh right here to your right. We're lock right. She was charged with driving under the influence under statute 316.193 open parenthesis 1 close parenthesis along with nonviolent obstruction. She was later released on a $500 bond awaiting her court date. The lesson here is simple. Personal beliefs don't override the law. The more they try to turn a routine traffic stop into a debate over authority, the closer they get to charges and consequences that could have been avoided entirely.
