If you're planning on speeding in Georgia, especially in an eye-catching car, you better think twice. But this driver wasn't thinking at all. Trooper Matthews was on patrol when a Hellcat flew past him and he immediately activated lights and sirens. But as expected, the suspect fled and the chase was on. >> 1080 Charles X-ray Lima. Something something something. Either a Scat Pack or a Hellcat. Widebody making his way all the way over to the right coming up to 75. 10370. >> What's your plan? >> Uh, stay in connector south. Stay in connector south. Uh, yep. Stay in connector south. Stay in connector south. Passing up north a >> coming past north. >> As the suspect sped down the highway at an extremely high rate of speed, probably thinking that's it and he was definitely getting away, the hard reality struck. Spinning out. Spinning out. Spinning out. Stand by. Pit. Pit. Pit. Get out. Let me see. EVERYBODY'S HANDS. Nobody move. Get your hands up. Get your door shut. Get hands up. GET YOUR HANDS UP. TRYING TO GO AGAIN. ATLANTA. RAMMING HIM. Stand by. He's trying to go the wrong way. He's starting to go the wrong way. We're taking William Street. William Street. Going up the wrong way on Williams. Spinning out again. Stand by. No five. I'm taking a secondary. Even though the suspect tried to flee again, he only made things way worse for himself. All occupants were arrested and taken into custody without further incident. While there's no public report on this chase, we all know the suspects were hit with a long list of charges and won't be driving again anytime soon. On August 10th, 2024, a trooper was on routine marked uniformed patrol at I75 northbound. Milem marker 167 in Charlotte County, Florida. The Fort Myers Regional Communications Center advised Cape Coral Police that a vehicle was in pursuit of a gray Hyundai. The vehicle had active charges for the driver, including felony battery and child, and it was actively fleeing from Cape Coral and requesting Florida Highway Patrol assistance. >> Traffic is light. 69. The trooper pulled next to the vehicle and used his assigned vehicle PA to give the driver a loud verbal order to pull over. But the drivers keep fleeing while driving on the right shoulder, cutting in and out of traffic with speeds reaching out to 110 m hour while driving recklessly mang Lane traffic over man. Heat. Heat. The vehicle came to a controlled stop on the right grass shoulder. The trooper exited, drew his weapon, and gave loud verbal commands to get on the ground. The driver refused to comply and began to pull away, but the trooper secured him with hand restraints. The suspect was identified as Luke Adam Arnold. Arnold was checked by EMS and refused treatment twice, once on scene and again at Lee Memorial Hospital. The trooper transported him to Lee County Jail and charged him with eluding law enforcement with lights and sirens and driving with a suspended license combined with his existing warrants for felony battery and child. Arnold is looking at serious time behind bars. On February 26th, 2024, a 53-year-old man in Arkansas woke up and decided to do something very stupid that day. He decided to test Arkansas State Troopers. He had previously fled from Arkansas State Troopers when he was younger and managed to escape them. But at 53, he still thought he had it and decided to test it once again. Fun fact, Arkansas State Troopers have some of the most aggressive pursuit policies in the country. What worked 30 years ago definitely wasn't going to work now. This man was about to get a harsh reality check. I'll tell you more from lower man. You can find another trooper ahead of me. As the chase progressed, it was mainly on the shoulder. Like there was no other space on the road. The suspect wanted to escape traffic and gain distance from the trooper. But this trooper wasn't here to play games. And this suspect was yet to realize that. Hey, just make sure you know you guys come back. Come on. No, we took that little 59. The suspect was stopped with a pit maneuver, or as we call it, the ASP classic move. And he learned the hard way that he didn't still have it. His time had passed. He was arrested and taken into custody without further incident, bringing this chase to an end. So, here's my question for you. Do you think someone who previously escaped police decades ago and tries it again should face enhanced charges? Let me know in the comments below. What starts as a routine traffic stop and ends with six law enforcement vehicles damaged? Let me tell you about Wednesday's high-speed chase that turned into a multi- agency operation. According to a press release from the Grant County Sheriff's Department, the pursuit started in the IEO area near Grant 56 when Arkansas State Police troopers attempted a routine traffic stop on 31-year-old Carlos Smith from Lamar. off of here. Heat. This is worth traffic. During the chase, speeds reached over 90 mph as Smith fled through multiple jurisdictions. The Grant County Sheriff's Department and Sheridan Police Department quickly joined the pursuit, turning this into a coordinated multi- agency operation. Smith had several active warrants for his arrest in multiple states, including Arkansas, so he clearly wasn't planning on going quietly. The chase continued through county roads and into Sheridan, where law enforcement decided it was time to end this before someone got hurt. Turn back around this route. The suspect was very unpredictable and with the damage on his car, he was going all over the road. It seemed like he couldn't keep control much longer. But before he crashed into someone, police knew they had to intercept it themselves. Oh, >> they had the radio. down successful successful 28. Yeah. After several pit maneuvers, the suspect was finally stopped. He bailed out, but after a short foot chase, he was arrested and taken into custody. Three Sheridan Police Department vehicles, two Grant County Sheriff's Department vehicles, and one city vehicle were damaged during the chase. That's six law enforcement vehicles taken out of service because one person decided running was better than facing his warrants. On July 31st, 2023, trooper Jeb Little was sitting in traffic on Interstate 30 East at the 138 mile marker when he observed a black Nissan Alultima with Texas tags [music] pass his unit at a high rate of speed on the inside shoulder of the roadway because apparently traffic laws are just suggestions when you are in a hurry. Moments later, Arkansas State Police Sergeant Cory Ray passed Trooper Little's unit in an unmarked ASP vehicle with lights and sirens activated. The driver saw an unmarked unit with lights and sirens and thought, "Nah, I'm good." And that's when the chase started. Clear offer coming up on Dixon. Pass on the shoulder. Stay on 530. Pass on shoulder. Space 137 electric. TVI. Stand by. >> The pit hit landed at a high rate of speed, sending the suspect's car sliding straight into a ditch. With nowhere left to run, he finally surrendered. Jeremiah Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Palaski County Detention Center, charged with firstderee reckless driving, felony fleeing, no valid driver's license, and failure to provide insurance. Another chase ended, and another driver learned the hard way that running only makes things worse. On June 16th, 2023, Trooper Evans was on patrol when a blue Mustang caught his attention. The trooper ran the license plate and realized it was expired. He attempted a traffic stop at a gas station, but the suspect fled. Fun fact, expired tags are one of the most common reasons for traffic stops, and for some people, apparently a good enough reason to start a high-speed chase instead of just paying the registration fee. Yeah, direct traffic. >> He ran off the road, but he's back home now. are 86 on this 185. Move in to TV hour. We're on about 80 right now. TVI roll over. TVI roll over. The trooper sent the Mustang straight into the ditch and left it disabled. The suspect was probably shocked by what happened and decided he better not run on foot after this pit maneuver. He was arrested and taken into custody without further incident. On November 28th, 2025, trooper David Manady was stationary on US Highway 82 near Pew Circle in Shiko County when he observed a white Nissan with expired tags passed by. [music] He conducted a traffic stop and the trooper made contact with the driver, Mickey Cannon, and immediately detected the odor of marijuana. >> All righty, Tennessee. All right, it's Canon. How much weeds in the vehicle right now? >> No. What we smoking earlier? >> Well, you know DWI drugs is a real thing, right? >> Right. Right. Right. Right. >> As the trooper called for backup and was completing the stop with the passengers already out of the vehicle, Canon suddenly fled east toward the Mississippi River Bridge on US Highway 82. jump right now. better. Good. TV. TBI. >> TBI. Roll over. TBI. Roll over. Fire and rescue arrived and extricated Canon who appeared trapped. Initially, Trooper Butler used his baton to break the driver's side rear window to communicate with him. Canon had no visible injuries other than a small cut on his hand, but was transported to Chico Memorial Hospital for evaluation. The trooper discovered Canon had an active felony warrant out of Tennessee for a parole violation, which he stated was the reason he fled. Due to extensive pre-existing medical conditions, including a catheter and left leg paralysis, Canon was released pending a court summon rather than being booked into jail. On January 19th, 2023, this chase shows how things are done when it's something very dangerous and serious. FHP units located a drug trafficker in Orlando, Florida. Many units were already involved from the beginning. And when they attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect expectedly fled at a high rate of speed with something very huge in his car. I got room to put it right in the middle. Back in the man. >> Hold you. Hold you. Is your GPS working? >> Hey, when you can, Ricky, you got a signal and you got to just be careful on the The trooper gave the suspect a chance to pull over while in a residential area, but he refused. Considering what he had inside his car, it would have been much better for him to pull over than to run from FHP. Coming back to center. Back to center. Hey Maybe there's bailing. >> The pit finally brought the suspect to a stop, at least for a second. He bailed out on foot, immediately sprinting like he thought the chase had just restarted. But troopers were faster. After a short foot pursuit, he was taken into custody and hit with a long list of charges, including fleeing, possession, and trafficking of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, public nuisance for drug activity, and plenty more to keep him busy in court. What's the worst way to spend Thanksgiving morning? How about getting caught doing 90 in a 65, then deciding to run from the police at 120 mph while drunk and uninsured? On Thursday, November 27th, 2025, a trooper was conducting stationary radar enforcement on Interstate 430 when he observed a white Toyota Camry traveling southbound at a high rate of speed. The trooper entered the roadway behind the Camry and attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the two-mile marker. The vehicle, which appeared to have a single occupant, accelerated rapidly upon activation of emergency lights and sirens. controller just before the trailer description. Good night. 437 call 34 336 TP 34 336 Toyota TV on board started 1016. >> The Camry rotated clockwise, exited the roadway, and entered the tree line on the west side of the interstate where it struck multiple trees and overturned. Talk about a dramatic ending. The trooper approached the vehicle and located the driver, later identified as Talon Bazelle, unrestrained, unresponsive, and positioned near the passenger side of the vehicle. Medical personnel arrived on scene and transported Bazelle to Baptist Health Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. A blood draw warrant was obtained and executed at Baptist Health. Bazelle was cleared for incarceration and transported to Palaskki County Regional Detention Center where he was charged with felony fleeing by vehicle causing serious physical injury, DWI, open container, speeding, improper use of special plates, no seat belt, no driver's license, no liability insurance, and failure to register vehicle. What happens when a federal fugitive decides to run from law enforcement across state lines? Chaos, destruction, and a whole lot of bad decisions. On March 8th, 2024, trooper Darren Evans was stationary at the Bridgeport Scales along Interstate 40 [music] West when he was notified by a second judicial drug task force agent of an ongoing pursuit involving a federal fugitive in West Memphis. The suspect was heading toward the interstate and things were already going sideways. Trooper Evans got on Interstate 40 and attempted to intercept the pursuit. >> 1014 city. Third vehicle currently where 114 westbound coming around the 271b 1016 roll around. >> The driver was identified as Oscar Block, a federal fugitive from Arkansas. The passenger, Patricia Morgan, told troopers that Block wouldn't stop despite her pleading with him the entire time and it was her car he was operating. Imagine letting someone borrow your car and they take you on a multi-state chase. Talk about regret. Both were transported to Regional One Health Hospital in Memphis for treatment. Block was charged with felony fleeing with substantial danger of death, reckless driving, speeding, no seat belt, no insurance, and driving on a suspended license. On April 9th, 2021, troopers first spotted his vehicle speeding more than 15 mph over the limit, weaving through lanes and driving without headlights, even though it was pitch dark outside. When they attempted a traffic stop, the driver didn't slow down, not even for a second. Instead, he hit the gas, cut across lanes, and ignored every signal to pull over. >> I'm sorry. I'm on gravel pit road. I pass Saris on gravel pit >> 16 71 to 16. That's going to come back out on Highway 365. That road gravel pit only goes about 2 and 12 miles. 104 looks like a Camaro tempt in color. It's an SS. Go ahead and give that now 106. Round 16 on is successful. >> Successful. GET OUT OF THE CAR. [screaming] GET OUT OF THE CAR. DRIVER, GET OUT OF THE CAR. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. >> THE CHASE finally ended when Herby pushed his luck one turn too far. After flying through dark roads, cutting lanes, and ignoring stop signs, troopers closed the distance and executed a precise pit maneuver, forcing his vehicle off the road and stopping the pursuit cold. This time, Herby knew the game was over. He didn't run, didn't argue. He simply surrendered as troopers moved in and took him into custody without further incident.
