On April 26th, 2025, Trooper Jordan Drake spotted a Chevy Camaro with an expired license plate and attempted to pull it over for a routine traffic stop. The driver slowed down as if he was going to comply. And for a moment, it looked like this would be a simple stop. But then the driver suddenly hit the gas and just like that, a high-speed chase was on. >> Victor, boy, Robert Victor Ocean. The suspect suffered minor injuries and was in no condition to flee on foot. He was quickly taken into custody at the scene, then transported to the hospital for treatment before being booked into jail on a long list of charges. On April 5th, 2020, Arkansas State Police trooper Alan Akin was running radar on the southbound 76 ramp to I 49 when a black passenger car flew past him at a radar locked speed of 125 mph, 55 mph over the posted limit. Akin entered the interstate and pursued the vehicle, which eventually pulled over to the shoulder. But just as Akin began to approach, the driver hit the gas and took off, turning a routine traffic stop into a high-speed chase that would reach speeds of 150 mph. >> Turn the car off. Turn the car. >> He just took off on me when I try to do a colony take down on him. It's going to be six Nora Mary 906. The driver weaved through traffic with reckless abandon, maintaining tripledigit speeds for miles. But the troopers knew he was outnumbered and couldn't keep up this pace forever without making a mistake. It was only a matter of time before he slipped up and whether ASP could capitalize on it. >> All right, he's going in on traffic now. >> Traffic on Greg North. >> Uh coming up to Johnson intersection. I'm trying to end it up here. You let me know my way here. >> Damn, we both got airborne. 37. Where you at? Let me see your hands right now. LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS. PUT YOUR HANDS UP. PUT YOUR HANDS UP, PLEASE. LET ME SEE. The driver was identified as Michael Nightingale, who initially refused to explain why he ran. After being treated at Medical Center for complaints of a concussion, Nightingale was booked into jail on a long list of charges. Nightingale, who had an extensive criminal history, mostly involving drug offenses, was ultimately charged with felony fleeing, first-degree DWI, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. [snorts] On March 29th, 2025, Officer Irwin with the Fairburn Police Department in Georgia was conducting speed enforcement when he clocked a Dodge Challenger traveling at tripledigit speeds on the interstate. Officer Irwin activated his lights and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to comply, launching what would become an intense high-speed pursuit. The Challenger's driver was clearly skilled behind the wheel, and he was about to make the officers work for every inch. >> 1180 going to be 85,000. The trooper managed to close the distance on the interstate, but it still wasn't enough for a pit maneuver. The suspect was exceeding speeds of 140 mph, weaving through traffic and making it nearly impossible for troopers to keep up with him. Or maybe he just thought that cuz no matter how fast you're going, Georgia troopers are always there to stop you. 57. All right, we are coming up on four check one one 41 41 41 repeat 41 midnight D. Hello. Okay. The car crashed hard, but before officers could fully respond, the driver made a desperate move. He bailed out and sprinted across all lanes of the interstate, disappearing on foot. The suspect managed to escape on foot, but his Dodge Challenger didn't fare as well. While the driver remains at large, the Georgia troopers made it clear they don't give up easily. For anyone thinking Fulton County is a free-for-all, it's worth noting that troopers will chase you right out of the city limits if they have to. The investigation into the driver's identity is ongoing. [snorts] On December 27th, 2020, Officer Andrew Jenkins with the Pooler Police Department was running stationary radar on I 95 northbound at mile marker 96 when he clocked a silver GMC envoy traveling 91 mph in a 70 mph zone. Jenkins activated his blue lights and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver had no intention of stopping. The envoy accelerated past 100 mph, heading north on I 95 before merging onto I16 eastbound. The owner stated that her friend James had been driving the vehicle, but claimed she didn't know his last name and couldn't provide any useful information. The driver's identity and whereabouts remain unknown. On March 13th, 2025, Arkansas State Police were assisting Washington County Sheriff's Office in apprehending Jacob Kenneth Dunn, a suspect with an outstanding felony warrant who had fled from law enforcement numerous times in recent weeks. Deputies spotted Dunn behind the wheel of a gray 2019 Kia and attempted a traffic stop after positively identifying him. As expected, Dunn refused to stop and took off. Washington County requested state police to take over and troopers quickly joined the pursuit near Emma Avenue in Old Missouri Road. >> We're going to be south on Huntsville. We're east on him. My apologies. South Huntville. Trying to get a TV out here speed one. The chase twisted through multiple streets as Dunn desperately tried to escape. On December 14th, 2025, Trooper Blaine was on patrol when he spotted a black SUV exceeding the speed limit. He immediately activated his lights and sirens, attempting to pull the vehicle over for speeding. But the driver had other plans.
