like this. So like I had it like this. >> No, no, don't grab it. >> I'm No, I'm just saying like if I had it like this, >> can you do it hand over there? He has like little tiny hands. >> Almost. >> Einstein once said that only two things are infinite. The universe and human stupidity. And he wasn't too sure about the universe. Today, we're putting that theory to the test with a lineup of thieves so spectacularly foolish they just might prove him right all over again. The giant Eagle shoplifter ran from the store. >> I did not run from the store. That wasn't my I just walked out the store. Tra behind your back. Oh man. >> Two women are stopped by police officers after allegedly shoplifting. The officers begin questioning them for identification, but the women are uncooperative and hesitant to provide their names or IDs. >> Come on. >> Come here. >> Over here. >> You tell us what happened. Where's your name? >> Yeah, you can go. >> How old are you guys? >> How old are you guys? >> All right, let me need some ID. >> You don't have your ID? >> Nothing whatsoever. >> Yeah, that's good. >> All right. >> All right. >> All right. >> He's not lying. If you don't give us your name, you'll be arrested and back in >> process. Chocolate thing. >> What? >> Give us your ID so we can make this a lot easier. >> My mom. >> How old are you? >> I'm about to call my mom. >> All right, ladies. I'm going to leave you your rights. Okay, you have the right to remain silent. If you talk Okay, we already know you shoplifted. Um, you refusing to identify yourself. It's a further charge. Let's not go there. If you got no priors, no arrest warrants, we're going to release you on a piece of paper. You go to court for it. Okay. So, by you not cooperating, by you refusing to tell our names, that's just only going to be an extra charge. And I don't >> One of the women asks to call her mother before complying. The officers agree, but urge them to hurry so the situation doesn't escalate unnecessarily. >> Want to do that because that means we have to go back down to headquarters and that's silly nonsense for a shop. >> So, if you don't want to talk about what happened, that's fine. I just need to see your IDs, something with a photo and your name on it. Okay. Do you have a picture of it? Can I at least call my mom first? >> You can call your mom. We just need your here and you don't identify yourself. It's only going to elongate the the call. As soon as we identify you and write you a ticket. >> I mean, you can call your mom, but like she said, the the longer this takes, we could just do this quick and get out of here. >> If she wants, I'll speak to her. I don't have to call my mom. >> Okay. >> Go ahead. you uh yeah registered ID with your name on it? >> No, you don't have it on you. Yeah, I get that. But do you have one? >> No, you don't have anything. Do you have anything with your name on it right there? Like the cards or anything? Anything with your name? >> These aren't mine. >> Okay. Well, right now when we run your name, nothing's coming back, which means you're either lying to us or you're from a different state. So, you hold another ID from a different state. Okay. So, why don't you tell us your real name and date of birth? Because you're going to get a charge with interfering and you're going to come down to the police station. >> After further questioning, one woman is arrested. Officers discover she has an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court and proceed to search her belongings for safety reasons. >> I'm going to have you take this purse off first. >> We both had a 14 and you didn't make it, which means you failed to appear somewhere. >> You understand what that means? >> Yeah. >> All right. So, I'm just going to search you real quick to make sure you don't have anything that you can harm or hurt you. >> You have any? >> The officers inform her she's banned from the store. She insists she didn't run from the store and tries to explain her side, but the officers clarify that even walking away is considered fleeing once theft occurs. >> No. What is it? Do you want to have your purse be with your friend or you want to bring it to those? Do you have cash >> in there so you can maybe bond out? Um, yeah. Okay. Do you want to take your purse? Up to you. Um, do you want to keep your phone? She can take my purse. She can keep my phone. Okay. All right. >> Now, you want me to call somebody? >> Yeah. You want She wants the purse, right? >> Yeah. She wants >> Yeah, I'll take it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that's fine. >> Well, I don't know if that's a good idea. >> Well, that's what I was going to say. Maybe she want to call you. >> She wants to find out or something. >> Oh, and uh just one more thing. You can't come back to stop and shop. >> I think I >> Yeah, I just just wanted to make sure you know. Um >> Well, I got to be >> out of Shane Eagle. Shoplifter ran from the store. >> I did not run from the store. That wasn't my I just walked out the store. Trans behind your back. Oh man, that's crazy. >> You said I ran from the store. Hold on a minute. [Music] I run from the store. >> I didn't even leave the store. >> And I'm not even lying. >> I have in custody right now. I'm going back in if somebody wants to pull my car off to the side. I think you just make sure you lock it open after you move it. We're going to go in the office and figure it out. Huh? >> We'll go in the office and figure it out. Okay. >> I mean, we can't scream. I'm not trying to run. I didn't run. I thought I did not run at all. >> Well, you're walking away. It's good enough. >> Huh? >> Walking away. I didn't do anything, though. >> I didn't do anything though. go in this office here. I get statement and everything. You want to hold on to that so that way I don't lose it with the Okay. Police confirmed that the value of stolen goods exceeded $1,000. The first suspect is charged with larseny, while the second faces a fifthderee felony theft charge due to the high amount stolen. Oh, wait. Closer this way. They pulled my car up. >> I mean, what we got to do? I got to go to the car. >> Yeah. >> This is stolen. We don't write misdemeanor citations for anything. >> Technically, it's over $1,000. Let's say you get >> Both women are eventually arrested, one for lasseny and the other for felony theft, demonstrating how dishonesty and lack of cooperation worsen minor theft cases. Honesty and cooperation can prevent a bad situation from getting worse. Lying or resisting only adds more trouble to an already serious mistake. What an unyielding shoplifter. The next one will react much more violently, so keep an eye out. [Applause] On August 9th, 2024 in Flaggler County, Florida, police officers responded to a call from Target after loss prevention staff detained a woman who had been captured on CCTV, switching price tags on multiple items prior to checkout. >> Okay, so what is going on tonight? >> Honestly, it goes a long way. going through divorce. Just don't don't have any money. Didn't know what to do. >> Okay. So, they have like obviously they have cam footage. >> I have been living in a house with no water. >> Okay. >> Nothing. >> All right. Do you still have this on you? >> No. I don't have that on me. >> No. >> No. >> Okay. So, they have you on on on camera swapping tags, >> price tags, and stuff like that. Okay. So, the total amount that you should have paid was over $200. >> Roughly. >> $200? >> Yeah. For what? >> This what they're scamming right now is at $189. What you >> Why? >> Well, just alone at Lego Center, it was almost $100. >> Oh my god. >> The suspect identified as Cara was involved in a scheme known as price tag switching. A tactic where a person removes the price tag from a cheaper item and places it on a more expensive one to pay less at checkout. for the pants was like 2530 bucks and you put a new tag on it. >> How were you putting the tags on on them? >> I didn't put those tags on that. They were hanging in the clearance aisle. >> Okay. >> I bought them. Yeah. >> You didn't take any of the tags off the pants. >> No. >> What tags did you >> The video I'm in the clearance aisle the whole time. >> What tags did you swap them? >> Just the um sticky ones. >> Okay. How many items did you swap? >> Um a folder, the Lego set. I told him that. a folder, a Lego set, and and nothing. And then a bag didn't have a tag. >> Okay, >> that's it. You know, >> I'm not sure what the price violate me, guys, please. >> So, >> I can't go to jail. You guys don't understand. >> Carla was desperate to avoid going to jail, knowing she was already on probation for a previous theft related offense. To make things worse, her young son had been with her during the entire incident. >> Understand what's going on. They they might not have pursued charges, but she's done this multiple times in this store. >> In this store? >> Yes. >> I don't understand. I gave her money to go and get sleep aids and tea. I'm like, go to Dollar General. >> She's been doing this apparently. >> I have to pay for it. She didn't know. >> Okay. >> It has not it has nothing to do with your soda, buddy. Okay. But and grandpa will explain everything to you. Okay. I already kind of gave him a speech and mom made a mistake that she knew was wrong. But um yeah, they they they just haven't caught her until today. >> The officer informed Carla's father that he wouldn't be able to bail her out that night since she was already on probation for theft. Unlike his daughter, he appeared to be a sincere and decent man. >> I left Dollar General 2 weeks ago with a 12-pack of water and forgot all about it. So, I went all the way back and to I forgot to pay for this. The lady was looking at me like >> I did it too for plastic utensils. >> This might be uh might be it for >> I don't know. I don't know. Seems like she's perfuming the pig with with him. But I already told him I said she made a mistake, you know, that she did something wrong. So, >> trying to help her. I mean, she's going through a rough time, but you know, five kids moving into the house. She's going a little bit off, but like >> she's not helping herself right now. >> Yeah. I refuse to go to the store with her. >> H >> I refuse to go to the store with her >> because I'm like, you bring me out. I'm like, >> it's almost every time. >> Yeah. And I don't know. I don't trust her. I'm fine. >> That's bad. What Carla's father described seemed to resemble kleptomania, a compulsion to steal, even when there's no real need or gain. It was as if she was addicted to shoplifting. >> Your dad just said he gave you money. >> He did. He gave me $28 and then I just came here to see if they had my mom's sleep aids here. >> Why did you steal? >> Because I've been locked in my house for 9 years with a husband who controlled me. >> What does that have to do with you stealing stuff? to have money or anything. >> What does that have to do with you stealing stuff and setting a terrible example for your son? >> Ma'am, you don't have to tell me how to be a mother. I understand that. >> I'm not telling you how to be a mother. I said you're setting a bad example. I understand >> multiple times. >> Yes, you're right. You're 100% right. >> Thank you for admitting >> that must have been tough for her to hear, but it was something she needed to face. The officer was absolutely right. Stealing was bad enough on its own, but doing it in front of her son sent an awful message. >> Tell your son that you forgot to pay for it. >> I didn't tell him that. >> Okay, cuz I already told him. I said, "You made a mistake and you made a bad decision." >> Hold that thought. I told him that you made a mistake and you made a bad decision and that you knew what you did was wrong. Your your parents are helping you out. You didn't have a need to steal anything. >> My parents have my mom has cancer. My dad barely has anything. >> So you needed a popsocket. >> I didn't take a popsocket. >> Why did you have the wrapping? Why did you open up the wrapping if you weren't stealing it? >> I didn't. I ripped it in half. I threw the other half. >> Why? >> Why not? Who cares? I don't get it. I >> Why would you destroy the packaging? >> Why would you destroy the packaging? >> I don't know. >> That's a terrible lie. >> So, you're setting an example for your son that he can walk around the store and just rip and open the packaging. We get lied to on a regular basis and that's a terrible lie. >> She was formally informed that she was under arrest, then placed in handcuffs as officers began searching through her belongings, documenting every item tied to the theft. >> What's your name? >> THC. That's a felony. >> No, I have a card. >> Where is it? >> It's not on me, but you can look up my name. When you have something like that, you're required to have it with you and you know that. >> I do know that actually cuz my ID always works in the dispensary. >> What? >> I don't have to bring my vet card. I can bring my ID >> because they can look it up. But once you get it, you are legally required to have that at all times. >> Yeah, I know. Popsockets in there. >> So why did you lie about it? >> Cuz I felt stupid. cuz they were like, "Oh my go." >> What about this? >> That looks like it's package. That looks like it's terrify. >> He's not even showing me what she's giving you. >> I'm not required to. It >> doesn't belong to you either. >> Is it mine? >> No, it's not yours. >> That's what we're trying to figure out. And they just said, "No, it's not yours." So, you can't even keep track of what you stole. >> Yeah. Just pull them out of everything. In what way did you think you had a right for me to ask them if they if that was their property or not? >> It was clear the officer had reached her limit with Carla. She was visibly disturbed by Carla's dismissive attitude and even more upset that her young son had been exposed to the entire ordeal. >> You know you can lose your medical marijuana license for not abiding by their laws, right? >> I didn't know that. >> You should know that. It's your responsibility to know that. >> Just like having a driver's license mean >> I'm not being mean. I'm being blunt and honest. >> Just because you don't like what I'm saying doesn't mean it's mean. I'm being mad. It's a It's a statement of fact. It's your responsibility. >> I get it. >> I'm not being mean. I said it's your responsibility to know that the >> consequences, right? >> Yep. >> Exactly. >> All deputy pile has to do is charge you with this for not following the rules and your Bye-Bye medical card. [Music] this. [Music] >> Yeah. I don't I don't know for sure about that one. >> Well, we can't tell. We can't tr those under yours, which they're install. >> They showed me you opening up before back. They have a bunch of underwear. >> So, they're not yours. >> I kept looking at them to see if they were too big or too strong. >> You can understand why I don't believe anything that comes out of your mouth. >> Further investigation revealed that she was already on probation for a petty theft incident dating back to September 2023. Given her repeat offense, Carla was once again charged with petty theft. Stealing may seem small at the moment, but it destroys trust and can ruin your future. Honesty and integrity are worth far more than anything money can buy. All right, let's move to this next case where things might get even messier. >> Hand over there. She has like little tiny hands. >> Almost. >> On January 7th, 2023, officers responded to a Walmart after a shoplifting incident. A loss prevention employee reported that two females, Ayana Hernandez and Alexi Walker, had just been caught shoplifting at the selfch checkckout line before police arrived. >> I'm still recording for that. >> Yeah, man. Trying not to. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> How are you, sir? >> I see you again. See you again. >> Uh, this one does right here. She's all 18. I for Cindy. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And you are Alicia. Okay. You guys ever been arrested before? >> All right. So, what I mean, what's going to happen is you're going to probably get a $100 bond after several hours. Then you call family or friend to go downtown and pay the bond and then you guys can get released from the station. But it's going to be a waiting process. Okay. If you've never been arrested before, if that's true. Thank you. >> What's that? No, you can't you can't pay for yourself while you're being in the jail. Like, it's not possible. >> Oh, this is also hers. >> Yeah, this is this is going to be now. This is Cindy's purse and this >> this is what this is the item that she was have this item. >> Yeah, >> this is stuff. >> She walked in. >> Okay, I I'm just separating. The suspects swiped handbags, a wallet, and a keychain worth $550. In total, slipping them into their own bags with nowhere left to run. Their shopping trip ended in handcuffs. All right, go ahead and stand up for me. I got to put you guys in handcuffs. We get back to the station later. We're going to have a female officer search you guys. Uh, is there anything on your body that we we should be concerned about? Like, is there any more merchandise or anything like that? Okay. No narcotics or anything? Nice. any anything in your bras or anything? No. Okay. >> The girls were calmly escorted to a waiting police unit for the ride to jail. Surprisingly, they took it without any drama. Something some older offenders in today's cases could learn from. >> Wait, come over here real quick. I'm not going to bring back y'all's cuffs. >> Not you. >> Cuffs are going to come off, but they're going another pair going to go right back on. Okay. All right. There you go. You can relax a little bit. Okay. Man, what are y'all stealing? What in the crap were y'all thinking today? Come on over here. >> Yep. >> Could y'all find I know why you arrested her cuz she's almost as tall as you here. I know your hand will probably come out of there, >> but do me a favor. Okay. Okay. So, I don't have to lock those down any tighter cuz you got little bitty hands. Don't just don't slip them around. Okay. You good? >> All right. I figured you'd be hating on people that were taller than you, not ones that were like actually >> I hate on you. >> The officers kept the mood light, though the girls didn't seem amused. The tall cop even offered some fatherly advice before they were taken in. I ain't Hey, I ain't saying you're guilty of anything. That's up to a a jury. But >> really, this work, >> huh? >> Hang on. Something freaking rolling around over here. I can't hear anything. Say again. >> Can you tell us how all this works? >> Oh, sure. So, what's going to happen is we're going to take you over here to our jail and book you in >> on the charge of theft. And then they're going to do the charges and send them kind of like an email to the DA's office and then from there we wait for the DA to send back saying what your bond's going to be. >> The officer warned them that even with a small bond, the arrest could take 8 to 12 hours. More importantly, it might hurt their chances at college or getting financial aid. A theft charge is a is a crime of what they consider a crime of moral turpitude. Okay? If you don't know what that is, that means you don't really care about what what's wrong or what's right, even though you have knowledge of what's wrong and what's right. And it kind of puts you in the same level as somebody that would beat their spouse. Okay? The in the eyes of potential like government aid and things of that nature. lesson. Don't abuse alcohol and don't shoplift material things aren't worth a criminal record. Thankfully, these girls took it well, and the cop's humor helped lighten the mood. [Music] >> All right. Well, first off, see if you can slide your hand out of there. >> You said what? >> See if you can slide your hand out of there. She has like little tiny hands. >> Almost. Okay. I just didn't know if I got if it actually could or could not. I told her when I put her in, I said, "You probably slide your hands out of there, but don't do that." >> I thought it wouldn't be a good idea. >> Well, it make me look bad. We pull up here and you're getting out and open the door for yourself or something. >> No, you got to stay in those. I'm playing tournament. >> All right. No. [Music] >> The officer warns them not to fight the case in court. Big stores have cameras, top lawyers, and deep pockets. Their best bet, make a deal with the DA and aim for a deferred sentence. >> What they're looking at is this little stuff that what you are charged with, getting it done, getting it over with. They don't have to spend time in a courtroom any much longer than what they have to to get it resolved. turn this heat lamp off. Um, so basically, if y'all go in there and basically ask for it, chances are they're going to approve it. And just for the matter of fact, you y'all haven't been in any trouble, okay? [Music] >> Yeah. So, this way it'll show you were arrested, okay? But it'll never show a conviction on you. So, anyhoo, what I was explaining to you is they'll put you on like a probation, okay? However long the probation is, it could be 60 days. It could be 160 days. Okay, at that point, I mean, it could be longer. I'm just saying, you know, just vary a time frame. But at that point, they'll tell you as long as you don't screw up during your probation, you do what the the terms and conditions are your probations and you pay for your court calls. After your probationary period, it never gets filed with the state. As far as >> if they finish probation, they can hire a lawyer to expune the arrest record, wiping it clean. Lesson learned. Don't drink, don't steal. And if you do, at least be smart enough to fix your mistake. Did >> these end up in your purse? >> I was going to walking with my wallet like this. So, I I had it like this. >> No, no, don't grab it. >> I'm No, I'm just saying like if I had it like this. On March 1st, 2025, officers responded to a retail theft at Walmart and spotted a man and woman who looked like they were in mid Walmart Olympics. The cops stopped them and politely escorted them back inside for a little receipt review. >> Okay, let's walk back inside. Let's walk back inside. Okay, >> walk right back inside. >> Okay, counselor like 2:15. We'll be out with you. >> We just got to verify something. Okay, we're going to walk over here to the corner. >> The suspects swore they paid in cash because apparently cash makes everything legit and let the officers check their bags and purses while carefully dodging certain questions like they were on a game show. >> Card decline or something? >> We paid cash. >> You guys pay cash? Okay, just just stay right stay right here. Okay. Are these >> Okay. Do you have any weapons on you? >> No. >> Okay. Can I just make sure you don't have any weapons on you? Here's a receipt. I'll take this or no. Turn around. >> What do you got in here? Do you mind if I look? Don't reach. Don't worry about >> charger. Don't reach. >> All right. You got your wallet on you or anything? >> Can I have your ID? >> Can you pull it out for me? >> Where you guys from? Around here. >> I'm from Alak. Let's go to the LP office. Okay. >> I'll I'll I'll take the cart. Okay. >> Okay. Cuz you had your own handheld basket. >> Yeah. And then once it got like full cuz he was pulled throw in it, then he just took the basket and threw it in the cart. >> Okay. So, who put the the purse in in the carts? >> Would have been him and the basket, but like >> Was it in your basket first though, >> Deon? Is there any like cont or any thing from the store in your purse here? No. I just checked off. >> The woman wasn't thrilled about a full purse search, but admitted some things were from Walmart, just already paid for, or from somewhere else. Basically, the classic, "These aren't the droids you're looking for defense." >> Don't reach. Don't reach. Do you mind if I check? >> I say, "Yeah, don't mind." I was going to say, >> "Do you want Can you just show me that there's nothing from >> I was going to say there's literally nothing in here?" >> Why Why can't I check the rest of this purse? >> Cuz I mean, I just don't see the really need necessary. I want to make I want if you're saying you didn't steal anything. The only way for me to prove that >> this is this is there. >> This is this is there. >> Yeah, but that's about that's it. >> Okay. I need to verify there's nothing else in there that belongs to the store. So, I need to search this first. That's what I'm saying. >> No, I'm telling you like I'm I'll give you everything that's in there. >> Okay. Can you show me? >> Yeah. I'm going to say this. >> I'm giving >> This is from there, too? >> Yeah. But that's that's it. This is mine. >> Why was this in your purse? I had it in my hand with my wallet. So, >> did you pay for this? Okay. >> So, other than that, like I'm telling you, everything else that's in here is mine. [Music] >> Can you start pulling stuff out and putting it on here then? You're saying there's nothing else in there. [Music] >> This is mine. My >> This is not from Walmart. It's from all Walmart, but it's the one on walk. >> You paid for it. >> And walk. Yeah. >> Okay. This this everything else is like vape, cigarettes, more vapes, more vapes, keys. >> She kept pulling out random purse items like a magician doing a hat-tick, insisting each was from a previous shopping trip. The officers, however, were less impressed and more interested in why the timeline didn't add up. >> There ain't nothing else in here, though. I promise you. Right. >> Can you open this up? >> Everything else that I bought is in there. >> So, you bought What's that right there? What's that? >> That's from W. >> Can you pull that out? >> Yeah. I was going to say that's from Waggan. >> I was at the Wigan Walmart yesterday with with a buddy. >> Same guy. And you purchased this. Do you have a receipt from this? >> Uh, he should have the receipt. >> Stop breaching your purse. Take this out. I I'm not going to look into it, but stop reaching for take this off and just put on the ground. >> Okay. As I said, I'll promise you they sell the same thing at Walmart. I got it at the Walmart. I got the same thing at Walmart. >> Okay. How much did you pay for this? >> Yeah, it was like $59. >> $59? Good. >> Okay. All right. So, walk me through what happened today. Who put what in the cart? >> Everything. So, everything that got put in a cart was I had a basket that had my stuff in it and that when the basket started getting overfilled, he put the basket in the cart. >> Like that. >> The woman said she and her companion split payment at selfch checkckout, denying any skip scanning and claiming she just liked storing items in her purse while shopping because who needs a cart when you've got a Gucci tote? handheld basket. >> Yeah, like the handheld basket. He dumped it in the car. >> All right. And then did you Who paid for what? Who paid for what? >> We paid for it to set like together. So like I scanned all >> and then mine was $62 or something like that and then he scanned all the rest of his stuff and it was $88. >> All right, Deon, be honest with me. Cuz they have cameras on each of those selfch checkckout registers when we watch the video footage. Am I going to see you skip scanning any product? Anything? >> I like I said, I I everything I scan, I put on there. And if I didn't want it, I told him to take it off and I handed it to the guy. >> To which guy? >> The the one that was standing >> the worker. >> Yeah, the worker. He took every one of them. >> How did these end up in your purse? >> I was literally walking with my wallet like this. So like I had it like this. >> No, don't grab it. >> I'm No, I'm just saying like if I had it like this, I was walking like that. >> And you put these in your purse as well? >> Yeah, I put all of this like that. >> Why did I Where did you get this stuff? >> The makeup aisle. >> Okay. >> I wasn't even like I couldn't even feel it when I'm like sitting like this. >> Okay. >> We can't feel all of that. But I was going to say that's like5 $6. >> Did you put it this stuff in your purse with that stuff right after you picked it up off the aisle or when you were walking out >> when I an aisle? >> In the aisle. Okay. >> I'm pretty sure. >> Can you stay here with Officer Wolver just for a second? >> What's that? >> If you go to the tower aisle right now, >> I guarantee you the package for that course he was talking about in there. >> And is the cord he was concealing in your guys' cart? >> Uhhuh. I guarantee it because >> officers suspected a product box had been hidden. Walmart staff suspected skip scanning and confirmed they were missing items. >> Threw something up in the pallet tower I own. He was like, "Oh, I don't want this anymore." And it looked like a box. >> So you saw him consider >> No, but I didn't think it was a I thought he just threw the box back and was like, "I don't want this anymore." And then >> So where did you where did you get this from? >> Waggan. >> Wkegan. How about this? >> Walk. Walmart. >> Okay. And those two things that you gave to me earlier, you said you took it. What else did you take? Cuz Walmart's saying that you skip scan. >> They're pulling it up right now. They're saying you skip scan. >> What did I skip scan? >> That's what we're getting all that information now. I mean, at minimum, you took those two things. Not a big deal, but we got to go through all that stuff. So, hang out here with Officer Wre I'll be right back. Okay. >> Charles, right? Do you go by Charlie? >> Yeah, Charlie's fine. >> Charlie. Okay. I know you've been asked a lot of questions, but here's your opportunity to just be straight with us. Just let me know what happened today, who took what, and what exactly happened. The man then dropped the bomb. He'd removed phone chargers from their boxes in the store, and stuffed them in his pocket, tossing the empty boxes away because in his mind, the woman would totally cover for him. >> Just the phone chargers, but I thought they were going to be already paid for. So, that might was my violence mistake. As far as everything else in the car, I was just a guy. I was just standing there. >> The phone chargers. >> Yeah. >> The packaged phone chargers or the unpackaged one? >> The package or the the ones that were in there? >> The loose ones? >> Yeah, >> I think that's >> Okay. So, how how did they come un loose? If they >> I open them cuz I was going to see if they fit the phone. >> When did you open them? >> In the store. But I thought she was going to take care of paying them. >> Okay. That doesn't really make sense to me. If you're going to pay for Where's the Where's the package if you un >> I just threw it cuz I'm lazy and didn't want to throw it. I just put it on the shelf, but I thought she had another one so we could scan too. >> How do you think the store was going to figure out how much these were if you didn't have the package? >> Cuz I was going to I thought that I had another box in here. >> Okay. So, you're telling me you took off the package? Where did you hold these? Where were these at? >> They were in my pocket. I was checking them on my phone. >> Okay. Do you see how this looks looks to us? >> Yeah, I know. I'm take the package out. >> I will pay for anything. Why did you put this Why did you put this in your in your pocket here? >> Cuz I thought it was already paid for. >> At what point did you put it in your pocket >> when I was walking in the store? Cuz I thought >> Out or in? >> No, it was in the store. >> You were walking in the store and you concealed these in your pocket? >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> Okay. At any point did you take these out of your pocket at the register? >> No, I thought the box was in here still cuz I thought I put one box in here to scan two of them. >> Okay. But you threw but earlier you >> I didn't throw on the shelf cuz I was like, I just want to be lazy. But >> he explained their divide and conquer strategy. Split up, unbox things, hide some in the cart, some in his sweatshirt, and meet at selfch checkout for the grand finale. >> There's other things at the bottom. I didn't know that that was not scanned. They said you could look at the scanner. I was just standing there, but I'll pay for whatever is not paid for. >> I didn't know the >> So, we're a little bit past that point. Um, >> and you guys are getting a total. Um, so just to make sure I understand it right, you and Devon came in the store together. Who drove? >> Devon. >> Devon. Okay. Is her car out there? Yeah. >> Is there anybody else out in the car? >> I got something. >> What type of car is it? >> What color? >> Gray. >> The license plate. Okay. >> No. >> Okay. So, you guys come to the store together. What are you trying to get? Like >> I just came here for my phone and I seen the jacket and I like, "Okay, I'll get the jacket." >> Are you guys going around the store together or you guys just going separate ways? >> Uh, kind of like half and half. >> Half and half. Okay. Don't Don't answer that right now. I got to talk to you. >> You're fine. Okay. So, you're in the store. Who picked up these from the shelves? Who when they were boxed? Who? >> I did. >> You did? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And then you said you unpackaged both of them. >> Yeah. And I thought I threw in a box in the truck in the cart. >> Okay. And you put the other box on the shelf somewhere. >> But I thought I threw one in the cart. >> And then these ended up inside your sweatshirt. Yeah. >> Correct. Okay. And you're claiming you thought she was going to pay for them. >> Yeah. Cuz like I said, I don't want to, you know, I come in here and shop a lot, too. And I know I don't steal. >> Okay. >> Okay. And this is all the stuff that was not paid for. >> Okay. Who submitted payment into these into the uh selfch checkout? >> She did. I just gave her I gave her 80 bucks for what was buying. >> Walmart's cameras caught it all. $9186 worth of unpaid goodies. Both had walked in together, shopped like pros, and checked out like amateurs. >> You know, you would have done a quick math thing. I gave her $88. >> You gave her $88 in cash? >> Yeah, cuz it was 80 and then she put her cash in and it was still like 7 something $863 left. >> You guys both came into the store together. You're telling me you concealed these in your I know you're saying you just did you wanted to pay, but you concealed these in your jacket. >> Walmart has video footage and they're showing us that $9186 worth of stuff was not paid for. Okay. So, at this time, you both are going to be placed under arrest for retail theft. They're going to go back to the police department, do some processing, and we'll figure it out from there. Okay. So, >> the dynamic duo was arrested for retail theft and taken to the police station for processing where the only free merchandise was the mug shots. Crime at Walmart might seem small, but it still lands you in handcuffs. Honesty is cheaper than a $91 theft charge. All right, let's move to this next case where things might get even messier. On September 7th, 2023, officers received a call about an active theft at a Target shopping center. The caller reported that a woman was stealing various items throughout the store. As the woman attempted to bypass all point of sale checkpoints, she was apprehended by Target security. Hey stranger. >> When the officer arrived, asset protection explained that this was not her first incident. She would come two to three times in one day just to steal. However, what the officer didn't know is that she had two more kids she left in a hot car, all while she was stealing inside the Target >> that I have on her, but just dealing with today. >> Okay. >> Um, Miss Latasha, she's more than capable of speaking, but she did let me know that um she is living out of a hotel right now. Officers discover she left two more children in a hot car while stealing inside. She admits she is living in a hotel and struggling financially. >> Mhm. >> She is having a hard time managing and paying for her relatives or anybody here. She had her mom was just calling from her from New York. She said, >> um, you want to chat with her? You're more than welcome to. >> I understand. >> I understand. >> All right. So, right quick, um, are you going to uh >> I would like to, uh, prosecute and trespass for this majority of the time. Yes, she was here last night and she did steal alcohol last night as well. She stole alcohol today, but those are the most like frivolous things I like that I'm going to start compiling on. Um, I'm actually going to Oh, >> do you mind if I take a picture? >> Oh, sure. Okay. So, this is what um I'm going go ahead and do. Technically, I placed you into investigative detention, but since you have your daughter with you, I'm not going to put you in handcuffs right now. Okay. Okay. All right. So, I'm deputy string with the Sino County Sheriff's Office. Okay. Um, at this point, you are in investigative detention, but for this, like I say, for the sake of your daughter right now, I'm not going to do that. Okay. But >> officers place her under investigative detention, but avoid handcuffing her immediately due to her children being present. >> Here's the thing. If you try to run out this door, I'm not >> Yeah. And then we we we in a whole totally different situation. Okay. All right. So, I'm go ahead and read you Miranda right now. Is that a baby in the car? No, don't tell. Oh, so they have two young kids in the car and a baby in the car. >> Okay, might as well call DC. >> You have your ID on you? >> Hold on. Give me one second. >> Hey, what's going on? Do you have kids in your car? >> Do you have children in your car? Do you have children in your car? >> Yes. >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Hold on. Let me give me a second. I'm I'mma read her Miranda. I'll call you back. Okay. Bye. All right. Um, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court. You have the right to have an attorney present now or at any time during questioning. If you talk to me, you have the right to stop answering questions or speak to an attorney at any time. Do you understand each of these rights? >> Yes. >> Will you talk to me? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. So, the incident today, what was going on with it? I just want to get some clothes for them. Okay, just like that. >> The woman admits she left her 10-year-old, 4year-old, and one-year-old in the car. She also acknowledges she has shoplifted from this Target numerous times before. >> Like, I'm living in a hotel. I'm just having a hard time right now. >> I get it. And we all have hard times. >> I know. >> So, but we have a bigger issue right now. How many children are in your car right now? >> Two. >> Two kids. What are their ages? My son is 10. >> 10. And >> my daughter is >> one. >> One. So you got a 10-year-old and a one-year-old in the car. >> That's it. >> Okay. All right. And then how old is >> She's four. >> She's four. >> Hi. >> Four. Okay. Um I thought they were baby babies like an infant in a car. Okay. That's that's that kind of kind of got me. I'm like, what are we doing? >> All right. So, have you been here before? >> Yes. >> Okay. And what what has taken place before? Why you came to this particular Target? >> There was no particular target. Just that my son go to school in the area. >> So, how many times have you been at this Target right here and stolen items? >> I don't remember. I'm not sure. >> So, it's just been a a whole bunch of times. Okay. And have your children been present with you while you've done it? Like physically in the store? >> Maybe. Maybe okay because um that's also a completely different charge. >> Police explain she faces multiple charges including committing crimes in front of juveniles and warn she could be arrested if she returns to target >> because you are committing a crime in the presence of of juveniles. >> So I'm not taking the arrest. Somebody else is going to take it. I'm here to pretty much kind of feel it until that person comes. Now, I will whatever it is that you what what you're telling me right now, I will relay it to the arresting deputy and it'll be up to them what they want to do. Okay? But I'm just I'm just letting you know your your op what you you're pretty much dealing with right now. You're committing a crime in the presence of your children. We dealing with two different crimes right now. Okay. So, again, I'm going to leave that up to them. Whatever it is that he wants to do with it, then that's him. Okay. >> So, will they take them? >> Do you have anybody that can come and get them? I can try and find somebody, please. I mean, you can give us a second again. Here's the thing. You You kind of put yourself in a bad situation. I get we and honestly, we all go through trying times to be honest with you. So am I. Okay. But >> I didn't understand. >> You get what I'm saying? I mean, I don't want to kind of beat a dead horse. >> I know. >> Okay. All right. So, All right. So, you are trespassed from this particular target. Okay. If you do come back to this target, you will be subject to arrest. Okay. I do have to take a photo of you. >> Did you get the vehicle open? >> I can't just open it. >> They got the vehicle open. >> They broke the window. >> I can't say if they broke it or not, but if your 10-year-old is in the car, pretty sure he opened up the door for him. >> Yes. >> 4 513. That's 104. Hey. Hey. So, I'mma leave this car open so you so I'm going to go ahead and leave this car. >> Deputies open the car to give the kids fresh air. A relative arrives to pick them up as the woman is taken into custody. >> Open so you guys could get some fresh air. Okay. >> All right. >> Uh um what's your name? >> Um >> and that's your sister brother. >> Yeah. Going to be in the fifth grade to make sure you guys get in some air condition. See, make sure you guys get some get some air over there. Okay. Like I said other I'm going wait for the other deputy to see what he wants to do and then we'll go from there. Okay. >> Chocolate bull eyes. >> Uh do you have the information if he's picking up the kids or >> Yeah, I got it. I'll put this right. >> Okay. Thank you. >> You're welcome. Did you get her? It's right there in the Target. >> Yes. They're right there. They're about to suck. Okay. >> And they're on their way. >> Mhm. >> All right. All right. So, if you want to put your phone in your purse. >> Okay. Is it possible I can just leave it with them? >> The purse? >> Yeah. >> That's up to you. >> Yeah. I I trust this person. >> So, they are taking the stuff? I thought you just told her. >> No, I told her that they were taking the stuff because I don't know like how this works. I've never been to jail. So, I have to take I I don't know like how long I'm going to be there. So, I They need food to eat. >> Go ahead and stand up. Turn your hands back. Mhm. Hey, how you doing? >> Just come pick up the kids. >> You are? >> Yeah. Um, I'm your dad. >> What's your name? >> Sorry. >> Your name? >> Yeah. Oh, can you tell me what happened? >> Um, yeah, if you want to close the door. >> Yeah. So, their mom got caught a stealing out of there and so she's out of jail. >> No, that's stealing. >> Stealing. >> Yeah. >> What? What? Now, when you say stealing, that's a what? >> I don't know exactly what she took or what she you know, and of course, this isn't the first time. So, >> loss prevention confirms she has been caught stealing at least seven prior times, though she's being charged only for this incident. >> So, let me call you right back. Let me call you right back. >> Let me ask you a question. Um, >> is there like bell or anything like that? Yeah, it's probably depending on what it is. As of right now, it's probably $500. It could be more. Um I don't know. Is it possible to pay that now? >> No, you won't be able to pay. It'll take some time. Um there go our loss prevention officer. >> Are you related to the subject? >> Yes, that's the dad. >> This is all the stuff that she actually paid for. She didn't want to refund it. She said that she would like for it to go with you guys to the food, some of it is frozen. >> Now, let me ask a question. What like this is what she stole? >> No. >> What did she steal? She actually she actually asked us if we could not disclose information to whoever was coming to pick up. >> Um it will obviously be public record and you'll be able to see it anyway. Um but this I'll just say this isn't the first time. >> No, she's never did this before. >> I'm saying this isn't the first time at the store. I'm telling you it's not >> that she did this. >> She's done this many times. I had documented incidents on I think probably seven or so. But I'm only charging her for the one today. I will say that >> she has children in the car. >> Absolutely. I told them that we we knew that she had children in the car before we even stopped her. >> So, she's >> she just she just didn't pay for some stuff, but I >> What's in that pocket right there? >> It's a pen. >> The pen? >> Yeah. >> Walk you this way real fast. Okay. Sorry. Go in there and grab it. >> Yeah, we >> I'm just going to tell you right now, um, anything else you have on you if it's introduced into the jail, it's going to be >> officers warn her about introducing contraband into jail. Final charges include grand theft and committing a crime in the presence of minors. >> Charge. You understand? >> Anything but >> anything else on any other contra drugs, knives, guns, anything like that? any kind of substance. >> No, I don't have anything. >> Okay. We're just explaining if you introduce it to the jail after this point, it is introduction contract. Okay. >> I don't have anything. Okay. >> Despite the seriousness, she receives only 3 months of probation. Leaving children in danger while committing crimes only adds to the harm and consequences. Desperation is never an excuse. Poor choices today can destroy trust and future opportunities. It not the craziest incident you can see the next case even more. >> Hey, stop. On March 14th, 2024, officers were dispatched to a local Target for an active shoplifting incident involving a known repeat offender. Upon arrival, they headed straight to the security room where the suspect was still on the floor attempting to steal merchandise. >> So, I don't know if they did both, but you guys usually do all Chattam County targets. >> Oh, it has to be I think specifically. >> Yeah. So, she's probably banned from them and that's where they got all of her info. >> Okay. >> And we just think it's the same person. >> Well, guess let's keep an eye on her and see if she was in here. Let make sure I'm still muted. She was in here yesterday doing the same. I'm just sick of her honestly >> cuz when they go in the fitting room like we can't >> Yeah. You can't really see anything. >> Yeah. So, hopefully her bag is Oh, >> and she like will double. This was from her yesterday. >> Did she steal anything yesterday? >> I don't know. >> Yeah, she was looking real horrif. But she'll like double select. Like she'll get like three pairs of men's pants, two of the same shirt, two of the same purse. So that when she leaves the basket, it looks like she left everything behind. >> But she never pays for anything. Yeah, this is definitely her. She had the same phone today. So probably stuffing her back. >> She's in there now. >> Mhm. >> Will he be able to slip out without her seeing him? >> Yeah. >> Go fast. Go super fast. >> Go so fast. It's crazy. You going to bring the NZ in here? Grab a band form and an A&B. >> Yeah. >> Is that her? >> Yeah, but she's just coming out like she'll swap like a size out. So she might actually be trying to keep going. But >> looks like a pink and a purple something. >> Yeah. Like she keeps coming out and swapping those sizes. So also that tells me that she plans on actually taking something today and I know she ain't buying it cuz if she keeps actually trying it on. >> Mhm. >> She wants it. She's not going to buy it. >> She stopped right outside the doors, caught red-handed with the stolen merchandise. Whatever excuses she had prepared instantly fell flat as officers escorted her back inside for questioning. >> Just came out and grabbed more stuff. >> All right. So, her bag she's coming out her bag is Yeah. full. >> Did she just dump all that stuff in there? >> Well, she left the hand basket. So, her bag is full. So, I'm comfortable stopping her. >> You're stopping her. >> Well, you're stopping. But yes, you were stopping her for the death. Yes. >> Okay. There he is. Come on. Ma'am, come here. Come here. >> Come here. >> What? >> Yo, come here. >> Hey, >> stop. Put your hands behind your back, >> ma'am. Ma'am, relax. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Relax. >> Hands behind your back. >> What? >> My cuff's off. You guys, >> ma'am, stop resisting. >> Okay. All right. >> You're about to get resist. >> I got a concussion. 95 for use force force back >> kept pulling for me. >> Hold on. I need to call my kids. >> I got to call my kids, >> man. Let go of the phone. >> You're under arrest for shoplifting and now obstruction as well. I didn't make you hit your head. >> EMS. >> Yeah, they're in route. >> EMS is in route. >> The suspect ignores commands and pretends not to hear, but the officers stay firm. Her evasive act only adds to her problems, making it clear that she won't be walking away this time. Target. >> No, ma'am. You did that to yourself. >> My back. >> My head's spinning. >> EMS is interrupt. >> Okay. I'll call my kids real quick. >> Uh, no. Not right now. Do >> you have ID on your ID in your bag? What's your name? Where's your name? >> Jackson. >> Yeah. [Applause] >> You made me hit my head, bro. >> No, man. You did that to yourself. Pulling away from me. >> Can I please call my kids? Made me hit my head. My spinning. I ain't going to lie. >> EMS is in route. >> I'm about to pass out. I ain't going to lie. >> EMS is in route. >> Boy, you have cold packs. You want ice? >> Can I please call my kids real quick? >> Can you >> I need to tell them I'm not coming to the school and I need to call my dad. >> Okay, >> we'll get that taken care of. >> Well, my head is spinning. I ain't going to lie. >> EMS is in route. >> My is thumping. I'm about to I'm not playing. >> EMS is in route. >> Y'all got to take me to jail. >> Yes. >> Absolutely. >> For what? >> Shoplifting and obstruction. >> Can I please make one phone call? >> Give me a second. When when I put you in the car and ready to transport, I'm going to let you make the phone. >> When I >> EMS is in route. >> 15 home 785 street. [Applause] >> Ma'am, sit up in the chair. Instead of arguing or explaining herself, the suspect suddenly drops to the ground and plays the victim, hoping pity will save her. But officers aren't fooled. Her act only makes the situation more ridiculous. >> Ma'am, >> that was a very controlled. [Applause] >> Ma'am, turn around on her side. Turn around. Get on your side. Get on your side. Get on your side. >> If you're going to play this game, >> keep ahead. >> Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am. >> We call ma'am. problem. Where are you located, >> ma'am? Miss Jackson. Miss Jackson. >> Listen, [Music] EMS is coming. Let's stop playing these games. Let me show you. Move the uh put the cups on the front. >> Ma'am, stay still. >> I'm moving your handcuffs to the front. >> You want to put the cuffs to the front? I need you to stay still. Put your hands in the front. Roll over this way. >> Even with the cuffs moved for her comfort, she doesn't let up on the performance. Now it's up to EMS to separate fact from fiction. Whether she's truly unwell or just putting on a show to dodge accountability. We're >> going to move your handcuffs to the front. >> You want to sit up? Come sit up. Sit up. Hang on. Miss Jackson, just let it be. Just take a couple off. >> Miss Jackson, do you want an ice pack for your head? Huh? You want to get back in the chair now? >> Huh? >> You're saying you can't move. >> EMS out. >> So, we stopped her out here. She started pulling away from me and she I had a hold of her. She was pulling away from me. So I tripped her foot. She fell back and she hit she did hit her head. Um we got her back up. She was walked in here with a spine and she said her head was pounding and then she sat down in the chair in there and then fell very controlled manner fell out of the chair and then started having what looked like a seizure on the floor. But if I'm not mistaken, if you have a head, doesn't wouldn't you immediately have that reaction? >> Okay. >> Oh god. >> Sometimes it's slow. >> She's right here as you can see. Yeah. >> What's going on? >> Hey, what's going on? >> All right. Well, we're going to try to get you set up. Okay. >> Can you sit up for us? >> I'm scared. >> Sit up. >> Look at you. >> I'm scared. >> What are you scared of? >> Oh, my >> straighten this leg up. >> All right, let's check your head out. Watch out. Did she at all look like she lost consciousness? >> No, she was still talking to y'all. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yeah. She asked if she can call her kids multiple times. >> What seemed like a >> I don't feel like >> Oh, my neck is hurting down here. >> Where does she hit her head on concrete outside? >> At the hospital, her performance reaches new heights, groaning, exaggerating, and insisting she's too unwell to be held accountable. But officers know the drill medical clearance first, then straight to booking. >> Ain't nobody tell me otherwise if my head not spinning my shoulder not hurting and my back not hurting. They they ain't got to tell me that. I already know that trying to be rude for me cuz I'm black. Cuz I'm black. That's why she tell me that I'm stealing. She see me take something out. Y'all accuse me of stealing. That's what that is. It's okay though cuz God sees what y'all doing. >> Okay. What's up, brother? >> Incident. >> Hi. Are you Mr. Jackson? >> Hey, I'm Derek. I'll be the ER nurse taking care of you. >> They need to take me to the jail. >> What's that? >> Take me to the jail. >> I'm I don't do any of that. I'm I'm at I'm >> don't want to be seen. I said they need to take me to the jail. >> Oh, >> y'all ain't going to tell me that my head is spinning. >> I didn't say anything. >> You guys want to take her? No, she I would like her to clear. Yeah. >> Yeah. If y'all Yeah. If you guys just give us paperwork saying she refused treatment, we'll take it. Perfect. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> All the white people work together. All the friends and smiles. Y'all got secret little codes that y'all do. >> Man, what are you talking about? Just >> What are you talking about? >> Know me cuz I'm blame. >> It has nothing to do with race. It has to do You had a bag full of merchandise. You had a You had a bag full of merchandise. That's what That's what it has to do. >> Stealing. How do you know it was stealing? >> Cuz you didn't pay for it. That's called stealing. Did she feed me take off? >> Doesn't matter. You walk You didn't walk in with it and you walked out with it. >> I didn't walk in with a bag. >> You didn't walk You didn't walk in with a bag full of merchandise, ma'am. >> She didn't know if I had merchandise. >> All the merchandise had tags on it. What are you talking about? >> But she didn't know. Did she see me? >> Just Just stop. This is nothing about race. There's no race. No, it's not. It's It's You stole >> and that's it. And now you're going to jail for it. You shouldn't have stole this morning. Okay. >> You made You made You made the wrong choice and now you're going to jail. >> No, you're right. That's what it's about. It's not about race. >> I know. >> It's not about race. >> I did make a wrong choice. >> Cuz if you if you were white and you you were caught stealing, you would have been going to jail, too. >> No. >> Okay. >> She would have never called y'all. >> Just stop. Stop. >> She may stall with excuses, but the evidence against her is solid. Once the doctors clear her, those cuffs will go back on and she'll be headed straight to jail. >> We'll get this paperwork from them and we got to take her to Memorial cuz they'll give us a medical clearance. >> What? She's going to refuse treatment over there, too? >> That doesn't matter. They can give us medical clearance over there. >> They can. That's who we have our contract with. So, she can she can either get treated here or take him to memorial. She can do whatever she wants to do. >> What I recommend you do is get treated. Okay. You're complaining. You're complaining that your head hurts. Let the hospital see you. Okay. I'm tired of dealing with you already. >> I know, but I'm not I don't want cuz I know what's wrong with me. I know my head hurt my back. >> You're You have a You have a medical degree. You're a doctor. >> Are you a doctor though? But I'm telling you, I know my body. >> You know you weren't supposed to trip me like that, right? >> Ma'am, you know you wasn't supposed to run away. So, please relax and stop stop all the all the foolishness. >> You shouldn't have stole from Target. Plain and simple. >> She said she said she didn't run away because I tripped her. >> I couldn't run. You tripped me. Okay. So, it was effective is what you're saying. >> No, >> that's not what I'm saying. >> I'm not trying to argue with you. >> I'm just trying to get you to understand you were wrong. Take take responsibility for what you did. >> Take responsibility for what you did. And stop blaming everybody else around you. >> But he's wrong for tripping me. >> No, he's not. >> Yes, you are. >> He prevented you from escaping. >> Did they tell y'all to trip people? >> Yes, ma'am. That that is it. I I was I'm sorry happened to you. >> That's on you made a poor choice and you got a poor reward. >> Okay. Right. And so they say and you continue making a poor choice and I asked you to stop and you kept pulling away, ma'am. >> Okay. >> Because what were you >> if you if you wouldn't have ran it's a misdemeanor amount. It's a misdemeanor amount. Okay. Maybe if we would have talked to you, you would have been released on Spina. >> Yeah. >> We wouldn't have even took you to jail. >> You have to plain simple. >> You never told me what you were getting before. >> You know what what we were getting. But the officers don't budge her history as a repeat offender speaks louder than her excuses. And her attempts to flip the script only dig her deeper into trouble >> on camera. >> Okay. I'm not going to You know what you did. We're not going to play you. >> No, you're right. I'm wrong with stealing. >> Absolutely >> I am. >> And you're also wrong for pulling away. That is why I I tripped you. Okay. You're bigger than I. You were pulling away. You're doing a good job at that. So >> blame anybody else. Take responsibility for what you did. And that's it. So, and I apologize that you hit your head. Okay, >> I am wrong. I shouldn't have sold. I should not have. And you shouldn't. >> But I'm not being about it. I'm being serious. >> Okay. So, then what I recommend is that you let these people do their job and look at your head to make sure there's no underlying conditions and then we can go through the process. Regardless, ma'am, we're just going to take you to another hospital. We have to get you looked at. >> I don't want treatment. That's what I'm telling you. I don't want treatment. I already know. I already know that I'm in pain and I'm hurting. >> Well, they can they can help you with that. No, I don't I don't take medicine. >> All right. I I completely understand, man. But either way, we got to get your medical cleared and then we'll take you to CCDC and get the process started or get the process. Like I said, it's two misdemeanor charges. You're eligible for bail. You don't have to go before a judge. Okay? So, just let these people do their job and then let us do ours. >> Sir, I'm swear I'm not trying to make his job hard at this point. It >> It seems like the opposite. >> No, I'm not kidding. I promise you from the bottom of my heart and I'm not getting telling that I don't want treatment. I'm telling you, >> okay, and that's fine. And that's fine. That's your choice. Okay. But all this because you're a different color than me and this all this other stuff, that's nonsense. >> Cuz y'all sitting here not because you're talking nonsense. >> I see y'all smoking and green. >> At this point, it's clear she's more focused on playing the victim than facing reality. Yet, no amount of complaining will erase the fact that she was caught red-handed. >> I can't I'm a minority, too. I can't be racist. >> I don't want treatment. That's what I'm telling you. >> So that's your choice. So you let them know that. >> I told them already. I don't want treatment. >> But at the end of the day, you're still going to jail. >> That's fine. That I'm I understand that. But I'm telling you that I don't want treatment. I know that I'm hurting. They can't tell me otherwise. >> Okay, ma'am. >> My shoulder is tangling and it's me, >> which is why we put the cuffs to the front. >> It's not about the handcuffs. That's not what it came from. The pain is running from my head to my neck to my shoulder. If it's anything other than what this I don't want to hear about it. All right. This is this is what's going on right now. Okay. You're in the hospital. You're going to jail for shoplifting. That's it. You will get a phone call when you get to the jail. We tried to call twice. Nobody answered. All right. Let's be a big girl and deal with your consequences. Yeah, we don't need the memorial. >> No, I didn't. I just called the jail. >> Uh, she got uh two warrants. >> Oh, she has warrants, too. >> Oh, okay. Well, then you're not going to get bail. >> You said I'm not >> one one at a per and then one from uh Chad County. So, she'll already be over there. >> Same thing shop. >> Her persistence might be impressive, but it's pointless. The combination of video evidence, eyewitness accounts, and her prior record leaves her with no room to escape the charges this time. >> Yeah, that's what I'm saying. What for? >> Shoplifting. The same >> same thing you're under arrest for now. >> I understand it, but I don't know where. Well, I got >> It doesn't say It doesn't say what store. >> I'm I'm going to make it real simple for you. You don't get away with shoplifting anymore. Do you know how many cameras are in all these stores? >> I haven't even been. >> All right, ma'am. They they your your face your name is already identified and has been passed all through the state of Georgia. Every store has your picture in a database. >> And you shoplift from them. >> Put it in a database and put a warrant for your arrest. That's why that's like that. You didn't get away with it. You just thought you did because you got to leave the store that day with the merchandise. >> You're going to have a hold on you. You're not going to get >> In the end, all her stalling and excuses didn't change a thing. She still walked away with charges for shoplifting and obstruction. No amount of excuses or fake illnesses can erase hard evidence. When you break the law, accountability always catches
