what happens when suspects push their luck too far in today's episode we're diving into high-speed Pursuits that took a dangerous turn these aren't just close calls they're disasters in the making let's get into it GTA for real what the on January 28th 2020 a man in Milwaukee stole a vehicle and moments later when Milwaukee Police located him in the stolen car he decided to take off ignoring all lights and Sirens the suspect initiated a highspeed Pursuit [Music] oh my goodness we're going to go around hold on hold on my door's open my door's according to the authorities the driver managed to flee on foot leaving behind his two female passengers trapped in the back seat police were able to track him down about seven blocks from the crash all three individuals were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening it remains unclear whether the two women were involved in the car theft Fire Chief Matt Williamson remarked on the wreckage saying it was a lot of Destruction the driver caused significant damage destroying a fence knocking over a street light and uprooting several trees all of this just for a stolen vehicle hopefully the car owner had solid theft Insurance on December 19th 2023 an asp Trooper assisting a drug task force in Memphis began chasing a suspect wanded on multiple felony warrants What followed was a high-speed Pursuit that left the entire country in shock oh as the suspect sped down the highway at 140 mph the trooper strategically set up for a pit maneuver and executed it the maneuver caused the suspect's vehicle to collide with a guardrail then crash into a truck however the suspect ultimately veered completely off the interstate resulting in a horrific crash fortunately the trooper only sustained minor injuries the suspect's decision to flee was the final mistake he made as he had multiple active warrants and was attempting to escape from ASP the 43-year-old West Memphis man was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severe injuries he sustained his vehicle came to a halt at the bottom of an embankment beyond the South shoulder on March 2nd 2024 a high-speed chase unfolded between the Florida Highway Patrol and a suspect driving a stolen Mustang the pursuit began when the suspect ECT was spotted on the highway but as soon as he noticed patrol cars behind him he accelerated fleeing the scene at high speeds apprach 4 Street [Music] 4 74 stre [Music] [Music] traff as the suspect in the stolen Mustang approached an intersection he caused a collision however moments later as he spun out from the first crash he collided with another vehicle the suspect came to a stop and officers quickly arrested him thankfully the drivers involved in the crashes sustained only minor injuries but this Chase ended in a complete disaster recklessly speeding down Interstate 10 the suspect in a Chevrolet Malibu refused to stop as Alabama Highway Patrol notified Florida authorities about the fleeing vehicle as the chase crossed state lines into Escambia County a Florida trooper took over the pursuit determined to bring it to an end east east all right dude I'll call you back4 here we're accient the heavy traffic worked in the suspect's favor preventing the trooper from executing a pit maneuver to bring the chase to a halt as the pursuit continued the trooper made a startling Discovery the driver was under the age of 18 adding another layer of concern to an already dangerous situation hard soon as I get this run right here stand by [Music] [Music] me after the pit maneuver the suspect's vehicle crashed into the guard rail before coming to a stop Troopers quickly approached pulling the suspect out of the vehicle and placing her into the patrol car it was supposed to me oh you're a dumb it's not going to uh you're just going to jail for a long time it's okay yeah you'll love it there I know pretty proud of myself that was the most fun I've ever had ever I swear to God GTA for real like what the oh I'm going to crash out y'all this is my crashing I'm crashing the out oh my god there was five star Malibus hold up very well that was quite the crash the pursuit ended with the driver being taken into custody fortunately no injuries were reported the suspect now faces multiple charges in both Florida and Alabama including fleeing and alluding law enforcement and violating several traffic laws the incident highlights the dangers of high-speed chases especially when the driver is underage and makes Reckless decisions in an attempt to escape uh box truck he's underneath the box truck airbags deployed let's shut this intersection down on December 26 2023 war in Michigan became the sight of a tragic Collision involving the local police a convicted felon and a box truck situated approximately 13 Mi north of Downtown Detroit and with a population of 140,000 the city was rocked by the events that followed the chain of events started when Warren PD observed a red 2015 Chevrolet Cruise the vehicle's expired plates gave officers the legal grounds to initiate a traffic stop from the very beginning it was likely that officers suspected the 24-year-old driver had something to conceal the window broke can you put the car in part please uh so the reason I stopped you is cuz the plates expired yeah I'm just coming from work oh yeah um is this your car no it's my girlfriend I live down the street do you have your license with you no registration insurance I don't have my life nothing all right all right uh it's your girlfriend's car yeah she down the street she got her life where where at okay literally I'm I'm just coming from work where you work at literally look okay all right oh what I got to have you do is just hop out for me real quick man cuz you don't have your license out here okay no no no no no when the driver was instructed to exit the vehicle he slammed on the gas pedal and fled the scene triggering a Pursuit there Center Line's blocking uh it's up in the grass just just just just parallel just parallel just parallel and East on Lawrence somebody go to Sherwood in 10 m for [Music] me all right we're uh by that apartment complex uh just east of Sherwood coming out to 10 all right West on West on 10 west on 10 you're good clear sorry yep yach shwood shwood shwood was ever on block traffic the suspect began driving at highp speeds Running Red Lights however as he approached the next intersection he attempted to run the red light again this time he collided with a truck t-boning it and getting stuck underneath the trailer [Music] into a box truck he's underneath the box truck airbags deployed let shut this intersection down the crash was so severe that it was clear there was no way the suspect would survive paramedics arrived on the scene and quickly declared the suspect deceased police ran his information but have yet to release his name though they confirmed he had been convicted twice on felony weapons charges and had an active warrant for a traffic violation during the search of the wreckage officers found a stolen handgun on the car's floorboard likely explaining why he had fled commissioner will DWI commented on the incident saying we all feel bad that someone died if he had just stopped he'd still be with us today roll over on September 5th 2024 Trooper Rivera from the Florida Highway Patrol spotted a white Toyota 4Runner speeding in Charlotte County Florida the vehicle driven by Paul Thomas was traveling at 80 mph in a 70 mph Zone with excessive window tint and erratic Lane changes when Trooper Rivera attempted a traffic stop Thomas refused to comply accelerating onto Tucker's grade before returning to Interstate 75 reaching speeds over 100 mph traffic traic 113 traffic 113 the you still by weaving through traffic and overtaking multiple vehicles in a reckless manner the suspect managed to create some distance between himself and the Troopers however as the chase continued the Gap steadily closed approaching a busy intersection the suspect chose to run a red light causing a violent Collision despite the impact he showed no signs of stopping and continued fleeing as if nothing had happened [Music] [Music] [Music] Windon s 12 we're going North 75 3 vehicle 75 at 161 if you can start Way Lane [Music] the trooper finally managed to get close enough to execute a Precision pit maneuver with perfect timing the trooper made contact with the suspect's [Music] vehicle p p p p p p roll over roll over there are no phones connected connect the phone and try [Music] again 3 512 on fo despite his last ditch effort to escape on foot Paul Thomas was quickly Tracked Down by a K9 unit and taken into custody meanwhile his passenger Devon Brown was detained at the scene without further incident a thorough search of the vehicle uncovered over $9,000 in Cash drug paraphernalia and 49 gram of marijuana Thomas now faces multiple charges including aggravated fleeing and eluding reckless driving and violation of probation Brown wasn't off the hook either as he was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and [Music] marijuana on March 30th 2016 California Highway Patrol officers became part of one of the strangest Pursuits it started with a wellness check on a Jeep near LaMore Air Force Base when officers arrived the driver fled driving the wrong way on Highway 198 and entering the base through an unguarded checkpoint the Air Force only allowed helicopter Pilots to pursue while they had to be cautious as an F-18 was trying to land nearby it turned into a bizarre Chase with high-speed action and Military protocol in play Hey can [Music] you just something out of the car I don't know what it is [Music] [Applause] as the suspect circled around the base he made his way to a parking area filled with airplanes possibly due to the darkness he failed to notice the Jets and crashed into the back of one of them thease time [Music] [Laughter] [Applause] the the driver out of the car collapsing down on the ground the driver open we land as the police helicopter landed and officers moved in to arrest the suspect they stumbled upon a grim scene that revealed why the driver suddenly gave up upon rewatching the near Miss pay attention to the second plane the driver Clips the horizontal stabilizer severing it in half tragically the plane's Wing smashed through the windshield killing the female passenger in instantly the driver also sustained fatal injuries and passed away at the hospital later that night in the aftermath photo you can clearly see the broken wing and comparing it to how the plane should look it's clear how devastating the the crash was for the car and its occupants both suspects had active warrants at the time of the pursuit Zach how's it going he's running on December 1st 2024 the Brian police Department in Ohio issued a public notice regarding a wanted man Zachary cherena in connection with a vehicle theft cherena was spotted at Walmart and when officers approached he fled the scene with two children in the car the pursuit quickly escalated reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour with cherena driving with the vehicle's door left open as the suspect made a right turn with all the doors open the infant still strapped in the car seat was violently ejected from the vehicle at first officers didn't realize what had happened and continued pursuing the suspect moments later due to worsening weather conditions and dangerous speeds the pursuit was called off meanwhile the baby's mother who was with one of the officers received a frantic call from her husband telling her the baby was no longer in the vehicle Panic set in as she realized the unimaginable her child had been thrown from the van overcome with fear she and the officer immediately began searching for the missing infant I dropped heading towards Defiance at by the stop sign just on the side of the road I think so by the stop sign by the side did you say what road the one the light you go straight heading like you're going to Defiance okay and then there's a road that has a curve where you can go towards like Hicksville okay he's going to left him right there by that stop sign where the curve is okay if you take me there can you take me there just do you know do you think he's telling the truth that he just left the out in the snow I do I think so okay hang on which one correct yes the is it the girl boy the Boy okay okay I know we'll get we'll get there if he's truthful about him after the woman received a possible location where the baby might be she desperately begged the officer to take her there without hesitation the officer rushed to the scene with her knowing that every second counted yep yep yep you're fine he's okay 3620 3620 oh my [Music] God be on the curve on 127 at the stop sign with that child m keep him on the ground keep him on the ground police discovered the infant an hour later miraculously alive but suffering from dangerously low body temperature meanwhile the second child a 5-year-old girl was also found unharmed the following day ederton police apprehended sherena charging him with endangering children and fleeing from law enforcement cop on September 21st 2024 a trooper spotted a blue Nissan Altima with a legal window tint at a red light as the trooper attempted to turn around the driver made a reckless Choice blowing through the light with emergency lights and Sirens activated the pursuit was on weather's clear traffic's moderate speed coming up there tra clear air coming upof airport T just went through BR jump the Curve just threw a bag out the suspect sped off running red lights like crazy and creating some distance from the trooper but that Gap didn't last long within minutes the trooper closed in keeping the pressure on through Mar King name is Highway still on T all right going to take your right turn on [Music] 12 on 12 [Music] with the suspect's reckless driving it was only a matter of time before a collision happened unfortunately that moment came as the suspect weaving in and out of lanes at high speed crashed into another vehicle signal four signal four signal four cop sign you better not move on shoot where'd you crash cross did he continue him h on when the suspect collided with another vehicle the impact nearly resulted in a fatal accident for an innocent bystander however the rear driver's side window was shattered in the crash allowing two Pensacola police officers to pull the driver Anton Lamar Smith out of the vehicle through the window the passenger side window was then broken and Tariq Jamal Watson was removed from the front passenger window Trooper Lopez quickly retrieved a plastic bag thrown from the vehicle just moments after the crash upon inspection the bag contained 335 GS of marijuana less than 1 gram of cocaine and 11 gram of fentanyl Smith was charged with aggravated flea and Aude possession of marijuana over 20 G possession of cocaine and trafficking fentanyl Watson faced similar charges possession of marijuana over 20 G possession of cocaine and trafficking fentel both substances tested presumptively positive
