I did tell you so much my I'll tell you again [ __ ] MY >> that motherly. Come on. >> Yeah. You smile. I dare you. >> I dare you. >> Okay. Come on. >> He left. >> What began as a routine response turned chaotic within minutes. Voices rise, emotions explode, and the situation rapidly spirals out of control. Caught entirely on police body cam. This video shows the exact moment officers realize children are in danger and why they have no choice but to act fast to get them out safely. >> GET AWAY FROM ME. Get away from >> Police respond to a family disturbance call involving concerns about a child's well-being with multiple family members present. >> We're going to we're going to go ahead and have >> Is that your daughter? >> That's my granddaughter. >> Okay. Hey, ma'am. Ma'am, come over here with me and let them talk to her. You said she's 18. >> Your granddaughter's 18. My daughter's 35. >> Okay. >> So, >> thank you all for getting your ass. >> You're welcome. >> I didn't know what to do. She I know she has these rages a lot and then, you know, next day she'll calm down. Um she takes all her anger out on everybody, you know. >> So, what seems to be the issue tonight? Um, like you said, he she just started telling him go do the dishes and just give them direction to do a lot of stuff. She's trying to move. The house is a mess. >> She's got all them dogs up there. Um, she's raising dogs and she's trying to move to Indianapolis. And I really don't feel that my son grandson, even my granddaughter should go with her. >> So, I may have to put myself in a position where I get a bigger place and take my grandkids. I don't want to see him go into, you know, children's services or anything like that. >> Sure. >> I was just and you know, every time she I get a call from her, I I just panic like >> Officers begin separating individuals to understand what led to the incident and assess the overall household situation. >> What's wrong now? You know, >> so who called you tonight? >> She called my granddaughter or your daughter? >> My daughter, you know, I'm come and get I'm going to kill my I'm going to cut myself and >> Okay. >> So, does she have mental health issues? >> Yeah. What's What is she doing? >> I She won't go to get herself diagnosed. She's been doing this for the last I don't know 5 10 years. >> Okay. >> Um her Facebook page has everything with Chucky on it and everything. Um >> she's mom's talking for us right now based off these injuries. Not to the forehead. >> Okay. She in the forehead crack. >> That's what he told me. >> And what did you get? Why did she hit you? >> Because she said that I was that I was to like give me a reason to cry for. >> What were you crying for? >> Like she was yelling at me and just >> she just goes off. >> Okay. >> For any reason. >> Then she just got her bomb and just started hitting me in my leg in the back of my head. >> Okay. >> You go. Then my granddaughter had to jump. This is not the first one. She had to jump in between to keep her from hitting him. She had to jump in the middle of it. >> All right. >> Mhm. >> Well, let's corroborate that with the with the granddaughter and we'll go from there. >> The child explains feeling overwhelmed after a household argument escalated while officers check for signs of distress. >> Uh, are you do you feel like does it hurt to touch? Yeah. >> My head hurts. >> All right. Is it just the one spot and then you said the back of your head? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Show me where. Like she hit me like right here in my leg. >> Can I look? >> Yeah. >> Like like right there? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Anywhere else? >> Just in my legs. Like right here. >> Okay. Can you pull your pant legs up and let me see if I can see a mark? >> Oh, yeah. Like right here. >> He's so scared. >> You don't have to do scared. >> Um, do you have a headache? >> All right. How did she hit you in the forehead? What' she hit you with? >> Um, I might have I really don't know. I might have to go down and hit the couch. >> Do you feel like you passed out like you fell asleep and woke up? >> Um, make sure you tell them the truth cuz I know him. He exaggerates a lot too. I'm not trying to just make you know that he has that. Okay. >> But make sure you tell them the truth. 21 almost 10. We're working. >> Yeah. He he at school he reported her about a year ago at school to the teacher. >> Okay. >> And she was getting counseling. >> Uh-huh. >> Yeah. >> So what he reported to the school turned out to be legitimate. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yeah. Mhm. Yeah. >> All right. >> Yeah. Teacher. >> So let me just clarify. Okay. you were upset tonight and which made you cry and that upset mom and she hit you in the forehead and said, "I'm going to give you something to cry about." And then took her belt off or grabbed a belt and started hitting you in the back and in the legs. >> How many times did she hit you? >> Like three times in my leg. >> Family members provide background on ongoing tension, prior concerns, and previous involvement with school or counseling services. >> Legend like two times in my back. >> Okay. And what were you upset about originally? Um me and my sister was just kind of upset about um we were like we were going on and off about um doing the dishes and tomorrow is Monday and I got to go to school. >> Okay. Did she hit your sister at all? >> No. >> Okay. >> They they mostly get along the best. >> Okay. >> So he blames his father's not in his life. That's her fault. and she she blames that he has his problem cuz his father's not in his life. He does get a little upset and complains a lot and we try to we had him in football and try to get you know try to keep him active. I have him every weekend try to get you know make sure they're not sitting here in the house by themselves and why she works over in Indianapolis cuz that's where >> what's she do in Indianapolis? >> She's um uh cosmetology. Okay. She that's where >> I'm just going to take your pupil's buddy. Okay. All right. Very good. Do you feel sick to your stomach at all? >> Not really. My stomach is sort of hurting. >> Like upset. Has it been upset? >> Yeah. Um when like she was trying to get to me where my sister had to stop like my heart felt like like a sharp pain. My heart just it just didn't feel good. So then my grandma came up. >> Not yet. Kiki, are you okay? >> Okay. Yeah. She usually don't bother her, you know. And she lost her dad a year ago. He killed himself. >> So, same mom, different dads. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Same story. >> Uh, no. Go ahead. Slightly different. Will you come over here and talk to me? >> Officers interview the adult involved who describes the situation as discipline that became emotionally charged. All right. You already talked to my deputies. Okay. I'm their supervisor. I'm just trying to get some clarity in tonight. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> Mhm. >> In your own words, tell me what happened. >> So, I had just finished cooking dinner, took everybody's plate to the kitchen. Kitchen was a mess. I'm like, "Okay." He's been asleep all day. He hasn't done anything. It's a Sunday. And I asked him, "Hey, you could either get ready for bed to school tomorrow or you can help me clean the kitchen." And then he goes, "Well, you don't help me with anything." Well, whenever I asked for help, and we just started going back and forth. Mom came in, he he was told to just go do the dishes. And when he was told to go do the dishes, he had attitude. And he starts pulling everything out real hard, slamming stuff, not throwing doing anything correctly, basically out of spite cuz he has attitude. And my mom gets him and gets real angry. And she tells him to go do wall sets. And when he doesn't do wall sits correctly, he has attitude. and is just crying because he has to do walls sits. She gets upset. She grabs the belt and uses disciplinary action, hits his leg, hits his his back cuz he supposed to be doing walls. His back is supposed to be against the wall and he's crying. He's crying hysterically and my mom is just losing it. So, I'm there. I'm trying to calm her down. And I'm like, "Mom, mom, just calm down." And then she gets to a point where she can't do it anymore. And I hold her back. I'm like, "Mom, go for a drive. Like, go somewhere so you can calm down so nothing happens." And while she's out, she calls grandma and like, "Go pick up Aiden. I can't be there with him or I can't be there. Me and him can't be in the same place. He's driving me insane or whatever." That's what I assume cuz that's what she's telling me. And um so she's off for a drive. Um, grandma comes, gets him, and then she we me and mama, me and my mom are on the phone going back and forth. I'm trying to calm her down. Um, so she can get home safely cuz I know she's upset. And she eventually comes home. I'm talking to her. I'm comforting her. And that's when the one of the policemen knocked on her door. And that's why I assume she called the police cuz what she told her. I didn't know what she told her. But that's fine. >> So he was told to go through wall suits as corporal punishment. >> Yes. >> Which is normal. >> Police clarify the legal difference between acceptable discipline and actions that cross into criminal conduct. >> Mhm. >> And because he wasn't doing that correctly, >> she started hitting him with a belt. >> Yeah. >> How many times? >> Um I think twice on the leg and then twice like right here. >> Did you witness it? >> Yes. >> Okay. Did he fall over at any point? >> He didn't fall over, but he said he couldn't do wallsits because she kept demanding him to do walls. And he said, "I can't. My leg, my left." And that's when I kind of stepped down like, "Mom, you can't you can't." And then that's that's when I told her to go for a drive cuz she started to get really upset cuz he wasn't listening to >> her aggression was growing cuz he's got a knot on his forehead right there. >> I didn't I >> That's why I'm asking. >> Yeah. Uh I didn't see her put his hands on me. I I was cleaning the kitchen while it was happening cuz >> So you So you didn't see >> I see her beat him, but I didn't see how he got the >> What is normal out outside of wall sits? What's normal corporal punishment for him? wall sets, situps, and then usually he gets looked not like I seen tonight, but like on his behind >> and on the bottom of like the back of his thighs usually and sometimes it gets on his up here cuz he's trying to block and she's still hitting him. That's usually what it is. And then um that's usually it. You always been with mom. Do you think tonight was excessive? Be honest with me. I mean, I I think all of us here agree that your mom would went too far, right? Has she ever been in trouble before? Never at all. >> So, so grandma tells me that at one point your brother had reported her to the school about him being abused or whatever. And supervisors review statements and evidence determining the situation exceeded allowable limits. >> It went it went all the way through and I guess mom had to seek some counseling. Is she still in counseling? >> No. >> Has she ever put her hands on you or is it just him? >> Um I got whooped when I was younger. It was like that. >> Like >> not like that but >> when you got whooped? Where did you get whooped at? >> Same place >> on the backside or in the legs? >> Mhm. >> Tonight was she was merely Was she whooping him and telling him to complete more or was it four strokes one after another? >> It wasn't one after another. It was like two on the legs and then he she told him to stand up and then when he didn't she hit his neck >> and then she was like, "Get up. Get up. Get up. And then see his back again. >> And then you said it because you knew it was too much. >> You see where I'm going with this? >> Are you going to take it? >> Yeah. Mom's going to go. Will you go get mom for for DV? >> Hey, Grandma. Come over here for a minute. >> It's going to be okay. >> GET AWAY FROM ME. Get away from me. So here here's the problem we're running into. >> There's a difference between corporal punishment and just abuse. >> Uhhuh. >> And the way she explained it, it's abuse. >> He was already going through corporal punishment >> and he wasn't doing it correctly. So she pulled a belt out and then proceeded to hit him more when he wouldn't just simply stand up. >> He lost her dad, killed himself a year ago. and and I'm sorry for that. >> Yeah. No, she feels like she's gonna lose her mom, but she'll be okay. >> But even she at 18 years old just sat here and told me that she believes tonight was too much. >> Okay. >> Thus, officers explain next steps to the family, including custody decisions and temporary care arrangements. Where I'm going with this, >> you know what I mean? >> Yeah. >> She'll have her day in court. >> Yeah. >> But tonight, she's going to your your daughter is going to come and she's going to go to jail. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. Um >> once we >> I had to >> once we kind of get things calmed down. Yeah. >> I'm just going to verify that >> someone talk to a counselor, medication, give her something. >> So once we get things calmed down, I'm just going to verify with mom that grandson can go with you. Okay? Cuz mom's got custody. So it's up to her on where he goes. >> Okay. >> All right. >> She'll probably say, "Yeah." As far as granddaughter's concerned, I think she's upset with you because you called and I understand that. >> Like you said, it went too far tonight. I had to do something if I hadn't called and she did it, you know. >> Sure. >> I mean, this is a lesson for her, you know. >> So, >> I got to go to work in the morning. Like, I don't anything to anybody. >> Are you serious right now? I got to go to work in the morning. >> So, we'll talk to her in just a minute. Let's They're going to put her in the back of the car and then I'll have you guys have a seat in your car. >> Okay. >> Um I'm going to have one of my evidence technicians come out and take some pictures of him. Just his the knot to his head and the spot on his back. >> And then um maybe we can walk inside for a minute so I can look at his legs. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Now she's mad at me. it. It's part of the process. Okay. >> So, I'm sorry this is happening, but it's it's too much. >> It is. >> T taking a belt to a child is one thing. Like, like I said, corporal punishment's allowed. >> Yeah. >> It it really is. But there but there's a a fine line between corporal punishment and even involving a belt. >> Mhm. >> And then there's you have a knot to his head. You got marks on his back. self. Admittedly, >> the adult is taken into custody while officers reassure the children and coordinate followup with appropriate services. >> When she was whooped, she was whooped on her backside and maybe on her legs. He was hit up near his head on his back and and nobody can really explain why he has a knot on his forehead. >> Yeah, >> that's why I wanted to speak to her separately because I needed some further explanation on tonight's events. >> Okay. No, she's okay. She just had to be upset with me. She'll be okay though. It's part of the process. >> So, um, if you guys want to have a seat in your Mazda for for a little bit, >> come on. >> Come on, dude. We'll be with you in a little bit. Okay. >> What is my daughter doing? >> Why? >> Because you're going to be >> What did I do? I was here in a second. also as well. >> Oh my god. Do you want me to link your clothes or anything like that for you? >> Yeah. Can I get my I mean, >> do you want you have shoes in there that we can grab? >> Can I get my clothes on it at least? We'll have your >> Okay. >> Yeah, we'll have daughter or somebody going for cuz the dogs. >> I didn't do anything to anybody. What are you going to do? listen to you. Do you want to talk? >> What can I do? >> Let her talk. >> Okay, I'll get I'll get down first. >> What did I tell you? Why are you doing anything? You're not doing >> I'll let you talk to your mom in just a second. >> We're going to we're going to go ahead and just have her sit in the car for a minute and then you're you're going to be able to talk to her. >> Okay. anything to anybody. >> You want to step off to the side here. >> I got you. We'll just walk down here. Like I said, I'll let you talk to Let you talk to before before anything goes further. Okay. >> Would you would you be able to go inside and just get your mom a pair of like sandals or shoes or something? Are you able to do that? >> I know there's a small dog up there. >> Four, five. >> Four. Four dogs. >> How old are you? Would you are you willing to complete a witness statement for us just on what occurred tonight? Yeah. >> Okay. >> I lost my dad. He committed suicide. >> I'm so sorry. >> I can't move. So, >> is your mom's going to go to to jail tonight for domestic violence? It's just based on on how she handled the situation with your brother. It was just a little too a little too far. >> I can't. I'm sorry. I can't. She's all I got. >> I She's It It's going to be for a night or so. Um, do you know if she's ever been arrested before in the past? >> I don't know. >> Okay. Have you lived with mom? Yeah. >> Your whole life? Okay. Just take some deep breaths. I It happens. It It sucks. Just take some deep breaths. Okay. >> Do you want to get the shoes and stuff first, then have her do this? >> The incident concluded with the mother arrested on a domestic violence related charge, the child removed from the immediate environment, and authorities initiating follow-up actions involving family services and custody review. When emotions spiral out of control, children often suffer the consequences. Accountability exists to protect those who cannot protect themselves. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. Situations like this show why calm decision-making matters so much. Kids shouldn't have to carry the weight of adult frustration. Hard moments reveal who's really putting children first. >> Peter, can you get him? Because I don't want him to take that. >> On March 16th, 2024, police respond to a noise related call and make contact with a couple arguing in the garage late at night. He left to to CLEAN PARK POLICE. ANYBODY HERE? >> You guys okay? >> Yes, I was arguing with my husband. >> Where's your husband at? >> He's right there. >> Oh, >> I came to the garage to call off. >> Okay. Well, obviously neighbors are listening, so that's probably why. >> They always listen. They always call the police. Like, I don't have privacy in my house cuz I have my kids in there and I don't want them to hear us arguing. So, obviously, I'm going to come to the garage, but obviously my neighbors don't let me have any privacy in my garage cuz when my son's here, they're they're always calling the cops. When he's here with his friends, they're always calling the cops. When we talking loudly, you're calling the cops. I have to call out. I'm sorry. I have to go ahead, honey. I just care about your well-being. So, it's nothing physical, just verbal. Okay. All right. The woman explains the argument stems from ongoing family stress and insists the situation is verbal, not physical. >> Do you mind if I ask what you guys are arguing about? >> He had the problem with drugs. >> He left to to clean himself or whatever. >> He went to he went to detox or rehab. Yeah. Okay, >> he came back, but I just went to note that he went looking for that again. So, obviously, I'm upset. I know I shouldn't be yelling at him. >> You have every You have every worse, but I don't think it's fair that after 4 months of sacrifice from our kids and myself again thinking about us. I guess I was screaming, telling him how frustrated I was, but I just closed the garage and I told him to leave so that I could cool down because I knew I was getting loud and I know my neighbors, >> so that's why I was in here. >> But you guys are going to be okay. It's never been physical. >> No, we're going to we're going to leave so we don't >> I just I'm trying to like calm down, >> okay? And I don't want to be inside the house cuz my son is sleeping and my daughter I have four kids. >> Yeah. So you did the right thing by coming in here but then obviously >> we're officers attempt to deescalate, provide resources and encourage everyone to calm down due to children being present in the home. >> No, but they're concerned too because you never know if it turns physical. That's what they're worried about probably. Yeah, that's why he was out there and I was out here cuz he talked to me. >> I'm just going to give you a form. The form is I don't know if you've ever been involved in a verbal domestic. It's just a form for resources. You can call somebody. They're free. Um therapy if you're interested counseling. So I I just I just want to give you that form really quick. What's your last name? >> Why? >> Go ahead. Take a deep breath. Put your hands up and take a deep breath and relax. I can't answer anything. >> Yes, that's what it sounds like. >> Do you take Xanax? >> I don't take anything for it. >> Do you want the medics? >> No. >> You want me to step away and give you some time? >> I think it's going to be okay. >> Okay, I'm going to step away and get get you some time to breathe and then I'll be right back. Okay. >> She's having anxiety. Okay. >> Okay. >> Tension increases as conflicting accounts emerge, prompting officers to reassess the situation. So verbal nochech. Chicago. Okay. Officers determine there is sufficient cause to take enforcement action based on statements and visible indicators. Do you have DV? You got DV forms. Can I get two, please? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You smacked him. >> He called me a >> Okay. >> Cuz he said, "Who are you?" with with the the guy in the back or the guy in the front. And he's like, he called me a smide side. Hi, buddy. All right. Well, with that said, unfortunately, you got to come with me. I know. I don't want to do this. Go ahead. Stand up. Put your hands behind your back. >> You can put your phone in pocket. Can I get my truckies or can you get him because I don't want him to take the truck. He doesn't have a license and he took it from that. >> The woman is placed into custody while officers work to ensure the rest of the family remains safe and calm. >> Kids that are old enough to have the keys. >> My daughter is 20. >> 20. Okay. Maybe we have one female in custody. Can you uh He doesn't want her getting arrested, so he's probably going to react. I'm taking her. Can we get a photo? Do you have Do you have the streak thing? Can we get a photo of his face left side? >> Uh, no. I got her. Let's go. Can you tell me? >> Police coordinate with family members regarding keys, transportation, and household responsibilities. >> I'm afraid. >> All right. You don't have anything on you, do you? >> Wallet. >> And you want the keys. Can I get the keys to your daughter? The keys are in my room. >> Okay. >> Um, I have one work backpack and they should be in there or in the first drawer in my dresser. >> Okay. First drawer in the dresser. Work backpack or what was the other one? >> The dresser and my backpack. >> Dresser or backpack? Got it. All right. Go ahead. Take a seat. He's going to stay with you. I'm going to go talk to the daughter and let her know >> she's >> Or you know what? Yeah, you could take her then. Yeah. He's going to he's going to take you back. I'm going to go inside and talk to your daughter. >> Okay. >> Here. You're going to go into another car. I'm sorry. >> Oh, go follow with him. >> All right. 325. Okay. Okay. Is this English? >> Officers explain the situation to an older child, outlining next steps and emphasizing temporary arrangements. Uh just no with booking. No, I got it. >> Let me know. Hi Chicago. We had to place her mom under arrest because she slapped her dad. >> He He told us she admitted to it. He's got redness on his face. >> We're mandated by law anytime we see physical signs, >> so we had to do it. Um, called the cops. >> Yeah, they're probably >> So, she says, "Can you make sure that you take care of your your siblings?" >> And then also, he's not allowed to drive. >> She's got the keys hidden. Do you know where she hides them? >> Um, yeah. I can look, >> you know, cuz she told me. >> Yeah. >> Here. >> Officers transporting the woman and confirming follow-up procedures >> cuz I don't want him to know cuz she's really concerned about him. >> He's He's not supposed to be driving. Um it's in her in her backpack or in her drawer. >> Okay, good. >> All right. She should be hopefully bonded up um by tomorrow. Like tomorrow's Sunday, so I don't know if they will do it, but she's going to county. Okay. >> All right. Thank you. >> Over here. >> Kind of traffic on both sides. >> We'll go with this one. You okay? >> I just Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah, you'll be okay. >> Everything will be all right. >> Okay. There you go. Going down. >> Okay. Okay. The woman was arrested on a domestic related charge. In accordance with mandatory enforcement policies, family members were temporarily responsible for the household while legal proceedings continued. Uncontrolled emotions can quickly turn private conflicts into public consequences. Stability at home starts with accountability and restraint. This is the reaction of netisens to this situation. This could have ended very differently if emotions were managed earlier. Stress explains behavior, but it doesn't excuse it. Sometimes intervention is the reset a family needs. >> I did tell you something my tell you again [ __ ] my >> on June 27th 2025 officers make contact with a man during a street encounter while investigating a recent property related incident nearby. >> All right. Hi man. Turn around. >> What's your name? >> What happened to the red shirt you had on? >> No red shirt. But I had this on my clothes on. What the [ __ ] you mean red shirt? >> Just shut up. You okay? Yeah, I'm good. photo that I do. You know what I mean? I really have >> You want to grab him to do a show? >> Yeah. I'll have to drive over. >> Yeah. He's be uh behind the minis between 7-Eleven. >> What's your name? >> I told you I'm remaining. Police explain that he is being temporarily detained due to an active investigation and attempt to clarify his connection to the reported incident. >> You're not telling me your name? >> No. Like I'm not under arrest. I got no reason to do my name. >> Yeah, but you're detained right now. >> Well, I got no reason. I'm detained. I'm a man. >> Yeah, we're conducting a criminal damage investigation. So, you're detained. Okay. >> What's your name? >> And I'll give you my name, bro. I'm a man, bro. I got my constitutional rights. I know. What is it? The fifth man railro. Thank you sir. That's just walking outside. >> I got no say, bro. Okay. doing some shopping in Butterfield. >> I am not in Butterfield. In my school, bro. >> Sorry. >> My school. That's why I'm here. >> Conflicting statements and evasive behavior raise further concern leading officers to continue the detention. >> Okay. >> Said you're coming from a liquor store, though. I don't for sure. >> Said you were coming from a liquor store. >> I don't I don't >> Why don't you want to tell us your name? >> You just walking through. >> Where you walking to? >> Hey, bro. I'm not I'm not Right down the bro. >> The dividing line for Down's Grove is that stop light. >> This way too. >> That roadway is down. if you don't want >> officers receive confirmation tying the individual to the reported property damage. >> He's just going to walk away. We don't know who he is. Uh obviously if the arrest that you desire to sign a criminal complaint damage to your windshield, >> you know, but it's entirely up to you. >> Okay. >> He's 100% confident. Paul >> one, if you mark time for positive ID and I show up. underrest. >> The man is placed under arrest while officers give clear verbal instructions to maintain control of the situation. All right, I'm in. Turn around. And now you are under arrest for criminal damage to property. Okay. problem with one way cuz it works. >> Good. Sure. down the car. >> A search is conducted for safety purposes as officers prepare transport. >> Hey, don't Hey, don't twist my arm, bro. Don't twist my arm right here. Don't twist my arm. Don't twist my arm. >> I didn't twist it. >> You twisted my arm, punk, you twisted my arm, my >> He said he doesn't, but >> All right. Spread your feet. I'm going to pet you down. Okay. >> You have anything on you? Anything? >> [ __ ] on me. You ask me, I'll tell my vape and [ __ ] bro. That's [ __ ] >> What' you put in your pocket? >> Yeah. >> Right here.
