On May 14th, 2022, two Dodge Chargers came flying down the interstate, racing side by side at over 150 mph. Both blacked out, no headlights. They tore past trooper Jacob Bird, who was parked stationary. Without hesitation, Bird threw his cruiser into drive, activated his lights and sirens, and went after them. Neither driver showed any intention of stopping. Bird locked on to the closest one, who turned off his lights and hit the gas even harder. lock down 32. I'm speed about 120 line traffic. tag licor. After the first Dodge Charger blew past his racing partner and disappeared into the darkness, trooper Bird quickly shifted focus. Now the second Charger was the target and Bird was locked in right on his tail. Right there. >> 97 mph. >> 97 mph. >> Bridge. >> Going up to the river bridge. Sorry. Okay. Put your hands up. >> Put your hands up. >> Put your hands up. >> Put the car apart. >> Roll your window down. >> My hands up. >> Stop. >> Be quiet. >> Okay. >> Be quiet. >> Okay. I can't get out. >> Get out of the car. Let's go. Come on. Fly out. >> Trooper Bird closed the distance and executed his signature pit like clockwork. Clean, precise, and devastating. In seconds, the Charger was disabled. With backup assistance, both the driver and passenger were pulled from the vehicle and taken into custody without further incident. Despite the insane speeds, it looked effortless. But that's just another day on patrol when Trooper Bird is behind the wheel. If you're thinking of escaping Trooper Jacob Bird, you'd better bring a high-powered machine, and even that might not be enough, but this suspect chose to run in a Toyota Corolla. Not exactly the getaway car of legends. It was June 23rd, 2022 when Bird clocked him speeding, and the rest is history the suspect will remember for a long, long time. 21. Everybody around here don't feel like continuing. I'm going to try hard trying to get out of this push. [Music] Despite multiple pit attempts, the driver refused to give in, somehow managing to keep fleeing at high speed after each hit. But Trooper Bird wasn't backing off. He stayed locked in, applying relentless pressure, going for the pit again and again until one finally landed just right. [Music] 15. >> He's going back 40 westbound. He just drove into the trees. >> For reasons still unknown, the suspect suddenly veered off the road and disappeared into the trees. He tried to escape on foot through the woods, but a K9 unit was already on his trail. Moments later, he was found, arrested, and taken into custody. Got to admit, this one managed to hold out a bit longer than most. But like every other chase with Trooper Bird, the outcome didn't change. Another pursuit brought to a successful end and another suspect delivered to justice. On May 22nd, 2024, Trooper Jacob Bird was on patrol when a Dodge blasted past him at 100 mph in the opposite direction. Bird didn't hesitate. He turned around, activated his lights and sirens, and attempted a traffic stop. But the driver had other plans. Instead of pulling over, he hit the gas, triggering yet another high-speed pursuit that Bird was more than ready for. Dire springs performance still running. We are north on Dire Springs. [Music] [Music] Cross contined [Music] out Charger was flying, blasting down the road like a ghost in the night. For a moment, it looked like he might actually pull away, but traffic ahead forced him to tap the brakes just enough for Trooper Bird to close the distance. And when Bird gets close, the chase doesn't last much longer. He's going the wrong way on University. Wrong way on University. Hands. Hands. Don't you move. >> University Maple Bell pipe. Univers. >> This chase was the perfect showcase of just how good Trooper Bird really is. When the suspect made the reckless decision to go head-on into traffic, Bird didn't hesitate. He sent the vehicle straight into a ditch, bringing the madness to an end. No one was hurt, and the suspect was arrested without further incident. Another textbook takedown. Another chase brought to a safe, successful close by Trooper Bird. On January 26th, 2023, trouble was brewing in Arkansas. It all started when a trooper spotted an SUV with expired tags. But instead of pulling over, the driver hit the gas. That's when one name changed everything. Trooper Jacob Bird, already a legend in high-speed pursuits, was on route to assist. >> Hey, you need to stay off the road. We may have a pursuit coming through. Stay off the road. Strawberry here. You're good to go. Straight through the intersection. Watch the cars coming on. There's a creek right here in tracks. I'm from this area. I know it. So, I'm gonna hike back and wait. Once we get through this area, >> then we'll >> adjust traffic on road. >> Trooper Bird didn't waste a second and he took over as the primary unit. And if the suspect had any idea who was behind him, he might have thought twice. But instead, he kept running, unknowingly writing his own ending straight into Trooper Bird's signature move. [Music] So, he's going to try to turn. [Applause] >> Show me your hands. Hey, hey, get on the ground. Get on the ground now. Hey guys, careful, careful, careful. I've only seen two. The suspect considered running, but one look at the K9 units changed that plan fast. Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody without further incident. Once again, Trooper Bird reminded everyone. It doesn't take much for him to bring a chase to an end. Just skill, precision, and a badge. On January 6th, 2023, trooper Jacob Bird was out on routine patrol when he noticed a vehicle speeding and something else caught his eye. The tags didn't match the car. Bird lit up the cruiser and initiated the stop. The driver pulled over and Trooper Bird approached carefully on the passenger side. Unaware this stop was about to take a dangerous turn. Hey there. My >> window don't work, sir. >> That's fine. Hey, I'm Trooper Bird with Arkansas State Police. The reason I stopped you is cuz the one, you were driving 60 uh 70 and a 60. All right. When you pass me by Children's Hospital. Two, the tags don't belong to the car. Do you have driver's license on you? >> No, sir. >> Why not? >> Do you have an ID? >> Yes, sir. >> What is your name? >> King. >> Can I see your ID, please? >> Where'd you get this license plate at? >> It's my girl car. I've been calling for you. >> What's her name? >> Angel Love. Okay. What's her dad's name? >> Sebast. >> Okay. You don't have an ID with you, >> sir. >> All right. Do me a favor. Put your hands on the steering wheel. Don't move. [Applause] >> Don't move your heads. The tags didn't belong to the vehicle and the driver had no ID. That was a red flag. And Trooper Bird knew exactly what that meant. The chances of this turning into a pursuit just skyrocketed. And when the driver made his move to flee, he had no idea. He was running from the last trooper you want behind you. Get back on 630 West. [Music] break. Get back on university. [Music] [Music] The suspect probably had a million things racing through his mind. And out of all the options, he chose the worst one. Fleeing into a parking lot. And as soon as he pulled in, he realized just how quickly that plan was falling apart and made a run for the exit. >> Going back toward Target. He came out. Now headed back toward university. Same going to the whole lake. Going east on Marco. East on market. Cut through park plaza mall. Headed back to our new university. Just pay attention how trooper Bird is glued to the suspect's bumper. Never giving him a second to breathe. No matter how wild the suspect drives, he can't shake him. Cuz when Trooper Bird locks in, no one gets out of his sight. >> Where the whole Sears used to be. Left toward university where the older hand now. Get on the ground now. You don't get on the ground. I'm going take you. Get your on the ground. Get on the ground. No, you're not. Get on the ground. I got one black running. Even after bailing on foot, the suspect didn't get far. One quick taser deployment and it was game over. He was arrested and taken into custody, now facing far more serious charges than if he had just complied. From his perspective, he couldn't have picked a worse trooper to run from. Once again, Trooper Bird brings the chase to a swift and successful end. On March 28th, 2023, trooper Jacob Bird was patrolling what seemed like a quiet night until a black vehicle flew past him, going over the speed limit. Bird lit it up with lights and sirens for what looked like a routine stop. The driver even threw on a turn signal, but didn't pull over. As they approached the exit, Bird already knew this wasn't going to be a stop, and it was going to be a chase. And the suspect had no idea he just triggered a pursuit with one of Arkansas's most relentless troopers. Baron right here. The road stayed clear for most of the chase, which on one hand was a relief because fewer innocent drivers in harm's way, but on the other hand, it gave the suspect plenty of room to push the pedal down and hit dangerous speeds. What he didn't count on was Trooper Bird. Because if there's one thing faster than a fleeing suspect, it's bird in pursuit. Turn your drive on clear south The suspect blasted through intersections like red lights didn't exist. While trooper Bird eased up just enough to avoid a disaster. That gave the suspect a bit of breathing room, but only for a moment. Because the next time Bird closed the gap, there was no more running. And when a suspicious bag went flying from the suspect's window, backup units quickly swooped in and secured the evidence. [Music] [Applause] >> Show me your hands now. Show me your hands. Passenger, show me your hands, passenger. Show me your hands. Now, keep your hands up for me. Close the door and walk backwards to me. Facing away from me. Keep walking backwards. Keep walking backwards. Keep walking backwards. >> Okay. >> Turn away from us. Walk backwards to us. >> Keep coming. Keep coming. Put your hands under. >> I'm getting you out of everyone else's is what I'm doing. >> After Trooper Bird brought the vehicle to a hard stop, each occupant was pulled out and arrested one by one. No resistance. No more running. Once again, Trooper Bird delivered justice with precision. And these suspects learned the hard way why you never run from the Arkansas State Police, especially not from Trooper Jacob Bird. On December 3rd, 2022, a red SUV led Arkansas troopers on a high-speed pursuit. Multiple units tried, but none could stop the driver. So, they called trooper Jacob Bird. Without hesitation, Bird took over the pursuit. And in true Arkansas fashion, he showed exactly how it's done. West behind us. We're coming up on camera about about 1. Yeah. We're going to take we're going to be third. We're pulling up exit speed. [Music] You'll give me space. out. Get those medical. >> It's almost unbelievable how fast Trooper Bird wrapped this one up. While other troopers struggled for miles, Bird took over and ended the chase in under a minute, executing a pit at nearly 100 mph and sending the SUV slamming into the barrier. The vehicle was totaled. The suspect was arrested without further incident. And once again, trooper Jacob Bird proved why he's in a league of his own. On December 4th, 2022, trooper Jacob Bird was cruising at 70 mph when a street racer blew past him like he was standing still. Without hesitation, Bird lit him up. Lights, sirens, the works. But in true racer fashion, the driver refused to stop. And just like that, the chase was on. Got [Music] clear right here. [Music] [Music] Take a look down Walton. Uh, things a little rough. Got 11s there. Going. [Applause] >> Okay, the suspect pushed the pedal to the floor, reaching speeds even high for troopers to keep up. But speed means nothing when you don't know the roads. Flying into a curve at full speed, the suspect lost control, proving once again that unfamiliar streets and reckless driving don't mix. [Applause] Okay, he's got a pretty good jump on you. You lose sight of him out. He's crashed out. We got one on foot. >> The driver bailed on foot, but he didn't get far. Troopers were right behind him and made the arrest within seconds. He was taken into custody without further incident, marking the end of yet another pursuit. If there's something you've noticed about Trooper Bird that sets him apart from the rest, drop it in the comments. And if you're enjoying this episode featuring the legend himself, make sure to let us know. On April 3rd, 2022, Trooper Jacob Bird spotted a vehicle flying over the speed limit. He activated his lights and sirens and for a second it looked like the driver might pull over. The vehicle slowed down and stopped at a red light, but the moment it turned green, he hit the gas. Trooper Bird didn't hesitate after that and he called the pursuit. Think we're going south [Music] to 17 Broadway. Gas station [Music] north on Broadway now. [Music] That was successful. We're crossing 630 [Music] now. left onto north. >> Even after landing a perfect GPS dart, Trooper Bird stayed in the chase, determined to bring it to an end. The suspect kept weaving through traffic, but Bird had seen enough. He stayed locked in, reading every move, and when the right moment came, he didn't hesitate. He took it and shut the whole thing down. [Applause] [Music] Show me your hands. Show me your hands. Put your hands up. Do not move. Do not move. Keep your hands up. >> Get out of the car. >> Left hand. Keep your right hand up now. >> Get out of the car. >> You swear to God, bro. >> You didn't have to run either. Get out of the car. >> Get out of the car. >> Step over there, bird. >> Get on your shirt. I swear to God, bro. You don't have to do that to me, man. Listen. >> Give me listen to me. >> No, I'm not listening to you. >> All I was doing was waiting on my sister. >> No, you weren't. You weren't waiting on nobody. If you're waiting on somebody, you stopped. >> Listen, sir. You going to pull up now. >> They don't care what she's doing. >> I was going to turn up here. >> You're about to go to jail now. So, >> I understand that. I was going to turn up in here, but you veered me off the road. >> You can see the worry over the driver's voice, wondering what comes next. But that's the thing. He had a choice. He could have complied, but instead he ran. Thankfully, he was taken into custody without further incident. And one thing's for sure, he didn't get behind the wheel again anytime soon. Let's hope the lesson finally hit home.
