If there's in the vehicle, then somebody could potentially be arrested. >> Officers locate marijuana and smoking remnants inside the vehicle and on the mother's person. >> Like, is it a for sure thing? I'm sorry. Like, it's >> I got them for you. I got them. Okay. If you'd like to stand in the shade with your daughter and officer Owen, we'll talk to you a little more in a minute. Okay. But you're not free to go right now. >> Okay. >> Otherwise, if you want, and I know it's not the most comfortable, but I have my air on in the backseat of my car. >> It's okay. My like like I said, my mom's coming to get me. So, what do you got? Yeah, just those two things. Yes, that's you can even take my purse. I don't know what to pocket. >> Well, I get I probably will search you more just because um but yeah. So, it was really strong. >> Now, I don't know what they're going to do. You willingly gave it to me, >> but like >> parents dispute intent, but acknowledge the items were present. So I was going to take her home so she could take go take a nap. >> Yeah. Can you Are you able to take your fanny pack off? I'll just search that. >> Yeah. I And >> if you're good here, Sam, then I'm going to go up to the >> Yeah. I Well, I just don't know. >> Do you want me to grandma's car? Is that grandma's car? >> Yeah, that's my part. >> When she took this kid out of here, what'd she do? >> Unbuckled it and picked it up. >> Yeah, I know. >> He said there's a couple roaches in the center console. Do you have a valid driver's license? >> I don't. >> Okay. Okay. Hey, but you weren't driving, right? >> Yeah. No, but but my husband was and he doesn't have a valid driver's license. >> Oh, okay. >> He was honest about that. We >> Oh, there's grandma. There's mom. >> Do you have anything in your bra? >> No, I I really don't. And it's one of these thin ones. So, >> sorry. No, it's fine. >> They they people hide them. It's the only reason I'm checking. >> It's fine. It's literally >> I mean, you told me where the other ones were. So, >> yeah, that I just wanted to be honest cuz I know you guys could smell it. >> Nothing in your crotch. >> In my What? >> Crotch. >> Crotch. >> Crotch. Oh, no. I don't have anything on. Okay. >> You need something? What do you need? >> You looking for somebody? Is this your car? >> Yes, it is. >> All right. Well, right now you can't be in it. Somebody either was smoking in it or has They also have an unsecured child in the back seat and a box cutter next to her. So, everybody's got to The car can't go anywhere yet. I'm pushing the button, but >> Oh, her trunk is broken. >> It's It's broken. You got >> Well, we have we we still have to try. >> That's fine. Yeah, you got both of the back seats. I know you're one of you daughter. Who's do Whose daughter? >> My mom. This is grandma. >> This is my mom's card. >> I miss. >> Wait. We were two minutes at a party. >> Okay. >> I just happened to drive into the park. I'm like, "Oh, >> I can't get it." >> Oh, that's me. >> I've already opened it, but >> uh the officer stopped him. Let's tip over to the sidewalk, please. Okay, miss. We can't be on the street. >> So, they are not little roaches. >> No, that's a whole We got a We got a couple things that's off. >> And then we have the unsecured child uh seat. He ran two stop signs so pulled him over. We smell just emulating from the car with all the windows down and the air on. So that's probably >> both parents make statements admitting possession. Neither claims sole responsibility. >> And there's a large box cutter with which reach of Rosalyn. I realize that, but it is a dangerous weapon for a three-year-old, right? We're not charging them for negligence on that, but they could be charged for not properly securing the the little one. Um, so right now we're just waiting a minute for the officer to decide what they're going to do. Um, and then paying off tickets or whatnot will be decided in a minute. >> Will I go to jail? >> I don't know what they're doing with it. He's It was the other officer stopped and I just came because I thought that the other officer I didn't know there was another officer already here. But then when I saw a female females males don't usually search females, so I was like, "Well, there's a female. I'll hang out." And I like kids. Yeah. So >> I was like, I'll hang out >> right now. Two stop signs. Understand child, two child endangerments in possession for both. We'll see who admits to ownership. >> All right, man. I'm going to read something to you real quick, Mr. Jackson. All right. All right. You got the right to remain silent and having these rights of mine. Do you want to talk to >> All right, man. Who's >> It's your >> I had my medical card expired about what, a month ago. >> Okay. So then you know I've just got a little bit of flour since I can't get the parts for what it is >> just uh so what exactly as far as the goes what was it in there >> that so it was literally just like two little roaches cuz like I don't know if it was you I explained it earlier I smoke in that car because I can't smoke in the house. >> Yeah. >> So there they were just two little roaches a left-hander I like to say smoke. So they were just in there >> 26. >> Yeah. >> Like if you smell the middle glove box, that's why it reeks because they're just in there all day. >> All right, man. I'm be honest with you, dude. They're like not roaches. They're like half blunts. >> Yeah. Well, >> they're like half blunts, man. >> You know, a roach is like a half already something that was sparked, you know. >> Yeah, I got you, man. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> So, admit it to it's his. >> Not hers. >> No. >> Okay. All right. So, we're we're having trouble finding either of you in our system. So, you guys both have driver's license from Iowa? >> Uh, so I don't have a driver's license, but you need my so >> is it out of Iowa? >> Yeah. >> What is it? >> If you couldn't tell, the car didn't smell like it. It was me that smelled like it. So, I didn't have it around him. >> Well, he also said he smoked in the car this morning. >> Yeah. Earlier. Yeah. >> The car seat wasn't restrained properly. Okay. So, I don't So, the officer is officer Batio. He's the one who made the stop. Okay. I the information I understand so far because I don't know all what's happening yet. I just showed up to make sure everything's okay is >> Jackson ran two stop signs and it was observed by the officer. >> Yeah. Well, I don't think he ran. He didn't stop fully but he didn't run it. >> Okay. >> Still technically running. I understand though. I get it. You're >> sorry. There was just no traffic, so I just thought it was okay. >> It's still technically unlawful. >> Um, so as soon as he says what's He's talking to Jackson right now. When he's done with that, he'll come over and talk to you and and he'll let you know what's happening. Okay. >> You can't find either of us. Ma'am, do you have uh your social? >> Yeah. Um >> bring her back under the shade and talk to her. >> Yeah. >> All right. I'm just going to read something to you real quick. >> Oh, no. Is it what? Like my rights or something? >> Yeah. >> Oh, so I'm getting arrested. >> No. >> Oh, okay. >> I have to read them, though. >> Oh, okay. Sorry. >> I'm not trying to get in trouble over you. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. >> All right. Do you understand each of these rights? Have I explained them to you? And having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk speak to me now? >> Sure. >> Okay. Whose is it? >> What? It's mine. It's mine. Yeah. I I mean he he had his medical card, but I smoked freely. He had his own cards and stuff like that. >> So the that was located in the vehicle is yours. >> Officers determine the situation meets the criteria for child endangerment. >> On me. I gave it to >> Okay. So that's >> Yeah. I mean like for husband and wife obviously he smokes too, but it wasn't his. It was mine. >> When did when did he smoke in the car? >> I'd say like this was way earlier this morning. We had dropped her off around 10:00 a.m. to her grandma's. I think it was around like 10:00 a.m. and we were gone for an hour. I was just trying to clean up. We just got back from a camping trip. I just trying to >> Did you guys both smoke in there or is it just him? >> It was both of us. >> Both of you smoking there around 10 this morning. >> Yeah, just Yeah, it was h Yeah, maybe a little early. We woke up at 7 this morning. So, it might have been like we ate breakfast. We were home for like a couple hours and then we dropped her off for a little bit. I think we got back around 10:30, so it might have been like around 9:30. >> Where did you get that from? >> Uh, it was on her person. >> Okay. Well, she's saying it's his and he's saying it's his. >> So, they're both saying it's theirs and it's not doesn't belong to the other person. >> We're going to charge both of them. We're not playing those games. >> I just don't understand why they're trying to incriminate one of us right now. Like, I don't understand. Like, I understand. >> I understand that. Like it seems like child endangerment, but it wasn't. Like I understand, but I didn't know that Court. We thought it was buckled in. I I buckle I strapped her in. That's why like you saw her that her butt or whatever. >> She was buckled into the chair. >> Yes. And I didn't realize that the chair wasn't buckled. I didn't realize that. >> I I'm only telling you what I know, but I buckled her in. You saw that? >> I saw that. >> Mom, would you come be with Rosie? >> Go to grandma. >> Grandma. Saman, I'm just going to get some quick info from you. Mainly pertains to her. Okay. Since she was in the vehicle. How old is she? >> Two. I'm You You were the one that pulled in, right? Originally, or with Yeah, you saw her buckled in. I didn't know that the thing wasn't buckled in. >> So, I'm just I'm I'm going to be completely honest with you. As I'm going through the vehicle, >> I can tip that thing over with my finger. It's not It's not locked in. >> I didn't I did not know that. I When I went in there, I put her in. It wasn't like it it wiggled or anything and I buck buttoned her in. I was kind of in a rush to get home. >> I understand that. But if you guys were getting into a crash from running these stop signs like you did. >> Yes. I understand that car. >> It's usually buckled in. I The trunk thing must I just I don't know. I assume that it was buckled in. It's usually buckled in. >> Okay. Yeah. So, I mean, here's kind of where I mean Yeah. the traffic violations, but I mean, the bigger issue is uh you guys you and your husband both knowingly have around your infant daughter. >> I I understand that. I understand. I don't know. I thought they changed it so it wasn't under anymore. It was like in the same They didn't change that to where it's in the >> You could never ever smoke around an implant. >> Well, no. I never said I smoked around her. That's what I'm saying. >> What we're getting at is the vehicle smells like Okay. So, no matter what that the smell, it's still inside the vehicle. The was smoked inside the vehicle. Your child is inside the vehicle. The child is unrestrained inside the vehicle and you're running stop signs. Okay. That's where we're getting at. We're not trying to be rude. We're not trying to go dancing around here, but we're just trying to let you know what we have on the table since it seems to be an issue with you understanding what we're talking about. >> No, I understand what you're talking about. I just wish you would understand it wasn't like ill intent like I'm just being reckless. >> A lot of things that people do out here are not ill intented, but guess what happens? We get caught for them, right? >> Well, today is that day that you got caught for it. Do you understand what I'm saying? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, >> both parents are taken into custody. The child is released to a family member. All right. I mean, uh, you're here's what can happen. You both are going to be placed into custody. Um, can we get her over to grandma? Can you take her? >> Can I at least see my daughter? Like, what? >> We got things to take care of first. So, we're going to have grandma take care. >> I know you're going to be arresting me, so why can't I be >> Yeah, I'd prefer the child to go with grandma first so we can talk to you about adult things. Yeah. Child endangerment for both you guys. Uh, possession of for both of you guys, traffic offenses for him, and then uh, yeah, you guys both own PCJ. What's going to happen there is they're going to issue protection orders. >> Protection orders, guys. >> And so you guys can figure out how to safely parent your child. >> Oh, she is safely parented. Like we were just out of >> That's That's where we're at right now. So, do you have >> protection order? She's not in danger. Okay. Can I talk to my husband, please? Please. >> Please. Can I just please relax? >> They're Did they tell you that they're going to put a protection order against her children? >> For what? >> What? Well, that's that's what the that's what the judge does, the the courts. That's not us. So, yeah, when you get child with child endangerment, they both they issue protection orders. So, you need to figure out with your grandma right now who the child's going to stay with. >> I I just >> But either way, yeah, you're go you guys are both going to PCJ. >> Yeah, we'll uh we'll get that. You want to get take your fanny pack off? >> I have that I have that fanny pack real quick. >> All right, we're gonna we're gonna go on the back. >> Say goodbye to him at least. >> I mean, yeah, that's fine. >> And I can't say goodbye to my daughter. >> That's it's fine. You can give her a hug, whatever. >> I don't understand why your demeanor is so rude. Like, I don't I don't understand it. How you have no compassion. >> Well, when you're smoking in the car with a I don't have compassion. >> She said he said I could give her a hug. All right. >> Yeah. Give her a hug. Do your thing. >> Well, >> she said that you both smoked around 10:00 10:30 this morning. >> Like 9 10. Yeah. >> Okay. When I woke up, that's all I know. The problem is if they're charged with child endangerment, a judge can put a protection order against the parent and it requires the parent to go through some state classes. >> So, I don't know if that's what they're doing. >> Yeah, dude. I I I understand. But like you can even ask officer when he pulled up. There was no smoke in the car. Like I was not smoking. You checked the security cameras. I was just that cat, >> right? He's not saying that that's not the case, right? But their concern is that everybody reeks of and the car seat is unsecure. That's the problem. >> Yeah. It's cuz we switch car seats from because we got to ride there obviously, you know, and then when she starts freaking out, we put the car seat in and I know it's not right. But it's not like I just drive around like that up all the time. >> I I didn't accuse you of that. I'm only telling you what I see when I get here, man. I'm I can only go with I'm not the officer who made the stop right now. They're just talking with mom and and and Roslin and as soon as I know what's happening, I you'll be the first to know. Okay. >> Yes. >> Does anybody have a separate cuff? I need another >> Can I at least talk to him before I go in? >> Doing you doing double cuff? >> You didn't talk yet? >> Mom, will you text? It's on my phone. Alex D, that I won't be able to come work in the morning. Just say I'm sick right now, please. >> Where do you work? >> I own my own cleaning company. >> All right. So, this is what we're going to do. We're going to walk right back around here and I'm going to sit you inside the car, but I'm going to do it without your daughter seeing you in handcuffs. Okay, we can go this way. >> You want to go that way? >> Yeah, we can go this way. >> I'm going to explain something to you real quick. >> Yeah. >> I'm going to put you in handcuffs. All right. >> Okay. >> No. >> Okay. >> Hey, I'm not going to try to make this worse. >> All right. >> All right, man. Both going for the possession. Okay. >> All right. >> Got that out of the way. >> Yep. >> Child endangerment for the car seat, dude. It was not hooked up. It's literally flowing around the car. Or if you guys would have gotten into a crash or run one of these stop sign or anything like that, kids going to go bang around the back seat. Okay. Not a good deal. All right. And plus the traffic violations of run the stop sign. All right. >> She's all buckled in. Okay. And she's good. >> You honestly I would never like purposely put my kid in harm. >> But the fact that they want to say that I can't see her. >> Listen listen. Okay. It's okay. Okay. Just take some breaths. And like officer Reia said, when you're talking to the judge, just be. >> Both parents were taken into custody following the traffic stop. Authorities cited possession of a controlled substance and endangering a dependent based on the presence of marijuana, the odor inside the vehicle, and the improperly secured child seat. Remember, having controlled substances or dangerous objects accessible to a child can result in serious criminal charges regardless of intent. Traffic violations combined with child safety issues often escalate a stop into a much larger legal situation. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. The unsecured car seat was [music] the most alarming part of this whole stop. This shows how quickly a simple traffic stop can turn serious. Glad the child was safely handed over to the family. You think the officers were out of options here? Watch what happens next on the body cam and tell us if you would have done the same. The next incident is when mom loses control, punches minor son, and pays the price. looking at y'all better get arrested for going inside my mother. Verdiana Vallejo was arrested after officers determined her behavior at the scene met the criteria for disorderly conduct due to continued yelling and disruption in a residential area. She was also charged with resisting or obstructing an officer based on her refusal to comply with lawful commands during the arrest process. Remember, escalating arguments in front of children can quickly lead to police involvement and criminal charges. Refusing to cooperate and interfering with an investigation often result in additional legal consequences. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. The kids being there made the whole situation way more serious. Yelling and arguing with police never helps your case. This could have ended very differently if everyone had calmed down. Cat sang video cac. The tension is already high. Or so it seems. What the body cam captures next saves a life pause [music] and comment what you do here. The next incident is when police pay grandma a visit after she pushes kid head first off couch. >> Stop touching me, lady. >> Give the child back. >> YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN RIGHT NOW. >> YOU STAY, MA'AM. What are you doing? >> It's hard. >> Your mother is sick and you're out here acting like this. >> Do you know how much money I paid to live here? >> On April 23rd, 2024, officers arrived after a report [music] that a grandmother pushed a child off a couch, allegedly causing a head injury. The scene is tense with multiple adults speaking at once. Well, until I verify that everything is okay. What's going on here? >> Thank you. Please. Thank you. >> How you doing? >> Doing all right. What's What's going on here? >> I'm with grandma. >> Okay. Okay. Hold on. Hold on. >> What's going on? >> Look. >> Yeah. Yeah. I can't talk to two people here at once. STOP ACTING THE WAY YOU ARE. Take a breath. >> The officer issues repeated lawful commands for the grandmother to stay in place. She continues to move and interrupt, leading to warnings about detention. >> I will talk to you here in a second. I can't talk to you while screaming and happens. What just happened there? When I tell you to do something, you need to do it. It's called a lawful order. You [clears throat] understand that? >> I appreciate that. >> Okay. >> I apologize. >> Okay. Glad the child was moved away from traffic. A lot going on for a simple welfare check. You think this call can't get worse? The body cam captures the exact second officers rush in comment. And if you still need help and we're done, then I can help you. Okay. >> Okay. Okay. >> All right. Thank you. >> Can you call my son's dad to come get him? >> Um, we'll see what happens. Okay. So, here's the thing. If we got called here, Target is saying that you were caught trying to steal some items from him. So, we're going to investigate that and if that's the case, we'll go from there. If it's a misunderstanding, then we'll go from there. Okay? But right now, you are detained. You're not free to leave. If you try to leave, you will be arrested immediately. >> Do you have a cell phone on you? >> It's dead. >> Okay. This is what I'm going to have you do. I'm going to have you just come up towards the front of the store. >> The officer documents the presence of the minor and explains that committing a crime in front of a child can lead to an additional charge related to the child's involvement. Okay. This way you don't try to drive away or anything like that. >> My car is dead. >> That's a fair point. Okay. Um I'm still going to have you go up towards the front of the store cuz I'm going to move my car up there so it's out of the way. Okay. >> Sit down. >> Why are you putting down his information? >> Well, because you were caught shoplifting with a minor with you, which means you're also going to be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. >> Loss prevention briefs officers stating this is the woman's 10th incident. They outline a consistent method involving clearance tag swapping and miscanning items. >> You're in the parking lot. >> You think? >> Jeez. >> Okay, what do we got, guys? >> Is your body camera? >> Of course it is. >> Oh, it has to be. >> I'll tell you what I was going to say. I'll try and leave all the uh a good chunk of this is not scanned or if it is scanned it's ticket switched with a different item. So yeah >> that's her [laughter] >> um we have that much evidence on her plus this. Okay. >> Um I have not filed these yet. I was going to and thought you know what she's probably going to come in. I'd rather catch her myself. She came in caught her myself. >> So well this is >> we caught her Jessica Twitch. >> Nine different incidents. >> Nine different incidents. So, >> so this is number 10. >> This is number 10. Okay. >> Yeah. >> I'm sure you're aware of how like if we catch her, we'll address this one and then you do the online reporting for the other ones. >> Loss prevention details the sequence selecting items entering the fitting room, reappearing with layered merchandise, scanning cheaper items, then attempting to leave the store. >> Unfort Yeah, [laughter] I'll be honest. I totally like it definitely puts both of us but I mean if I had to now do nine different reports on this I'm >> absolutely there's more important things for you to do it adds a a big chunk to me but >> I understand >> I completely understand it we want to cooperate with you guys as much as we can so she selected a whole bunch of stuff um went into the fitting room um of course we can't see what's happening in the fitting room but when she comes out she has the same stuff that I can reidentify what she went in there with including some of the items that that are in here. Okay. These gummies saw her select those. Most of the stuff that's in here, I saw her select >> and bag and tie this bag shut. >> And when she comes out of the fitting room, we can see that it's in there. Some of the stuff she paid the right price for. Most of it has been price switched, which is part of what she does. She goes and gets a clearance tag, tears it off the merchandise, and puts it on another thing. >> Okay. >> Um, so while she's ringing this stuff up, she's got like a pair of jeans and it comes up white shirt for $4.50. No. Sorry. No. And that's repeated through here repeatedly. >> Okay. >> When she's done, I'm at the best of you. I head out. She comes over to Starbucks, puts in an order, leaves the order there. I don't know why. And then starts going out. I stop her. I know her name. Most of these, the reason why we didn't stop her is because we weren't here. >> Okay. >> Um, we knew that she stole. We knew how she >> The woman attempts to exit and leave the scene. The child runs through the parking lot and is briefly separated before being guided back, prompting a 911 call. >> So, we run that credit card. Here she is again stealing again and again and again. So, we stop her. She starts to come back in, stops. I'm like, "Nope, nope, nope. Just follow her." And I I am starting to get the vibe that she's not going to hang out with me in here. We get her in here. I ask her, "Do you have identification?" "Yes, I do." I asked her if she's got somebody that can come pick up the kid because I know that we're going to be doing this and there's a really good chance that she's got history and probably not going home tonight and I don't want him having to go someplace really freaking scary. >> We'll figure that out. >> Yeah. So, I asked, "Do you have somebody that can pick up the kid?" She says, "No." And he's like, "Yeah, my dad." And she's like, "No, he's out of town." "Well, you have roommates." >> "No, I'm not calling the roommates." I'm like, "Listen, it's probably a really good idea for you to get somebody down here. I'm giving you that option to call somebody because I don't know where you're going to go from here, but I know that I'm going to be calling SGP. So, she then comes up with I've got to go to the bathroom, which we are. We have to comply with that, right? >> I can stall a little bit. I tried to stall a little bit. Said, "Hey, I'm just going to call this in. Soon as I'm done calling it in, we'll walk you to the restroom." I call it in. Let me have your identification. I don't have identification. Okay. Well, what happened to it in the last 10 seconds? So, I'm like, "Okay, well, we've got your name." Yeah. >> So, I told dispatch, "Hey, she's not being compliant. She's going to probably run." They dispatch you. I hang up. We start walking around. I'm like, "Don't do anything stupid." Before we left the room, I said, "Listen, don't do anything stupid." I'm not. I just have to go to the bathroom. Okay. Do you want to take him with you? Yes, I do. Okay. I'm like, "Okay, great." She's going to beat I can't physically stop anybody. As soon as we get to the door, she goes out. I'm on 911. Let the dispatcher know what's going on. You drive in before you got here. Sorry. That was the other fun part where it just went like, "What is happening right now?" So, she goes out, we watch what car she's getting into. We're standing on the sidewalk. The little boy gets away from her and starts running through the parking lot. I'm like, "Holy crap, this kid's going to get because he's this tall and this is a really rough parking lot for accidents or whatnot." So, we come off the sidewalk into the um crosswalk. He runs up to me saying, "I'm scared. I'm scared." I'm like, "Buddy, give me your hand." And I took his hand. I said, "Listen, just go with your mom. you're going to be okay. She comes running up and I said, "Listen, don't leave. Come back in with me." She's like, "I'm taking him home." Okay, we're calling 911. The police are on the way. She goes out to her car, puts him in the car, goes to the trunk, gets jumper cables out, and I'm like, "No way." Like, I couldn't. >> Officers and loss prevention estimate the value taken that day as over $500 based on observed items and scanning discrepancies. Video evidence is reviewed to support the estimate. >> Write a movie script with this in it. Luckily, that lady that was there is walking up. Do you need help? Yeah, I need to jump my car. And she starts jumping her car. I'm like, [snorts] all right. Then I saw you and then I waved and then I pointed and then [laughter] I came in here. >> Perfect. Okay. So, we're all caught up on all of that. >> Yeah. >> Do you have a number for tonight? >> For the dollar amount? >> Yes. I can try to go get it. >> Can you try to get me something? >> It's going to be a while and I don't want to make you wait. So, here's what we're going to have to do is >> Well, I could probably if I get a register going, if I can get one of these registers, I could probably get some of it at least. >> You yourself? >> Well, I can get Morgan to lock me in. >> Okay. Yeah. >> Here's the thing is if you can't get me a number tonight, it's not going to be like a make or break. It's a lot easier to say this person took x amount of dollars from Target or took x amount of dollars. Well, honestly with the history, the fact that this has happened multiple time, I'm gonna take her to jail. >> Okay. >> So, like I said, >> I mean, I'm I'm gonna guess >> even if it's a guesstimation from you guys, >> more than 500, less than a,000. >> I mean, what do the freaking vitamins themselves even cost? >> Those are like 14, 15. >> This is what >> 35 45 >> 28 with all the stuff that's on the inside. I mean, I >> think she like layered stuff so that when she scans one, there's five items. >> She didn't scan this. I can scan this. No, this is underneath all these bags. >> Okay, we don't need the receipt. I can get the receipt off of there. >> Yeah, I I can try to go get this from Are you okay if I open this Dollar Tree bag cuz that said >> Absolutely. Our merchandise is in there. >> Okay. I just want to make sure. >> I think that's that green shirt right there. >> Yeah, that's that green. I think >> some of this may not be ours >> because she came in with this bag. >> Yeah, she came in with the bag, but I don't know what all is Dollar Tree. And if you had a party bag, she put a bunch of stuff. >> If you can't find it right away, >> just don't worry about it. >> Just set it to the side. That's going to take a while. >> Okay, I'll be honest. Guestimation. Over five or under five? >> Over five. >> Over 500. >> Closing >> today. >> Over five today. >> Over five. And honestly, I won't be shocked if it's over 100 grand. >> Okay. Well, the range is 5 to,500. So, for the class, >> it's going to be 15. >> All right. So, we'll just go with the class A. And I mean, honestly, if it ends up not being a class A, we can change the charges. It's not that big. Officers determine jail is appropriate due to repeated incidents. Arrangements are made for a family member to pick up the child. >> Okay. >> So, we'll go class A over five. >> Okay. So, what were you saying? >> Um, the only other thing can I get can I watch a little bit of video footage? >> Absolutely. With that, I can at least articulate in, you know, my arrest statement that, you know, I observed her missan or not scan items. Well, this >> technically that's her property right there. >> Okay. >> I believe at this point she walked away from it and left it where it was. So, you guys can throw it in the trash. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I mean, it's not going to go with her to jail anyway. So, hey, there's also a really really strong possibility that she has more layered on her >> person from being in the figure, which of course I couldn't see. Okay, so she's going to it's going to be her right here. >> This is what we're watching live. >> Okay, so when she scans these light colored sweatpants, >> it is not shorts extra extra large. So, right away I'm like, okay, she's good. This is what she does every time. So, there's that one. Um, she'll be talking to the team member here to take the little red tag that you see off there. The next one's going to be these jeans. These jeans are not a gray shirt >> for 350. Thank you. >> Thanks for being here so quick. >> Absolutely. I got lucky. >> Awesome for that. Tell >> I watched it pop up and then I saw the name and I was like, that name sounds familiar. And then I was like, I'm going. So, >> you know who she is? >> You can't tell me. I understand. I kind of figured. And I think she kind of figured because she said you're you could have let me go. You can let me go. I'm like, "No, I can't. My system is going to say, you see the camera up there? It's watching that I arrested you, and if I let you go, then I lose my job." And I'm sorry, that's not >> that doesn't work for me. >> Yeah. If you guys get this numbers and stuff figured out tonight, could you call them and just so I can get a basic amount of this much property stuff like my report? I mean, I'm not going to go through in detail that this item was scanned, it's this and stuff, but I'll send that to you with the video. >> Perfect. >> The woman is arrested. searched, questioned about payment amounts, and informed of the charges before transport. >> That >> it's like, but it's just in the back seat. >> Do you want to roll the windows and everything up on it? >> Yeah. >> Okay, let's go do that right now. >> Okay. >> Is that keeping you warm? >> Uh, >> little bit better. >> Kind of, but I still want to go to Florida. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, you're getting arrested. So, if we can get him in a car if you're good with that. >> Yep. That's totally fine. >> Okay. All right. Are you Kimberly? Oh, hey, listen. She's right here. >> Okay. Hang tight here for a second. >> All right. Let's go. Okay. Face her. Place your hands on top of your head. >> Yep. Interace your fingers cuz she's got some cats and stuff on her hand that I just saw. I don't really want to touch them. >> So, Jessica, I'm going to search you real fast. >> Nat's money. So, we're just going to we're going to count it just so you know what it is. Put it in front of you and then we'll make sure it goes in. >> Okay. So, we got 20 30 40 50. We got 1 2 6 7 $58 in cash and we've got at least three quarters, some nickels, and some dimes. >> All right. They're going to recount it in the jail for you. Just so you're aware. I mean, you kind of know how this goes, but like if I miss something on you and you take it into the jail, it's a felony charge. Okay. So, anything I missed on you that they're going to find in a scanner? No. >> Okay. >> Last question. Do you have anything on you that you concealed that belongs to the store? >> No. >> Any clothing items or anything like that? >> No. >> Okay. Just making sure. They said you spent some time in the dressing room. Just checking to make sure you didn't like throw a couple sweaters on or anything like that that belong to the store. >> No. >> Okay. nothing like that. >> The woman was charged with shoplifting and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. These charges were based on store video and loss prevention observations of repeated price switching and under scanning of merchandise along with committing the alleged theft while a minor was present during the incident. Dream member retail theft investigations often rely on documented patterns [music] and video evidence, not just a single incident. When minors are present during alleged crimes, officers prioritize child safety and may apply additional charges. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. Loss prevention clearly had a long history on this case. Glad the child was picked up by family quickly. The parking lot moment was tense but handled fast. What do you think about these situations?
