Don't make this more difficult than what it needs to be, please. What's going on, man? >> Huh? We're worried about your safety, not incriminate yourself. Is that your boyfriend over there? >> Yeah. >> I'm legally deaf. I only have hearing in my right ear, not my left. >> This ear over here. >> I cannot hear on this side. I can only hear on this side. Where's your birthday? >> Hey, Stephanie, if you could go back. >> I'm sorry. I'm legally deaf. That's the only reason I'm trying to move. >> I love you, Skyler. Hey, Skyler. Look at me. I love you. [screaming] I'M MYSELF BECAUSE OF YOU. Because of you. >> The man was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, domestic violence, and assault on an officer. Drop your opinion in the comments. The suspect was charged with domestic violence, resisting arrest and assault on a law enforcement officer. The female involved was separated from the suspect for safety and provided access to support resources. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty through the legal process. Remember, manipulative behavior often escalates when control is lost, especially during police intervention. Separating victims from controlling partners is sometimes the only way to stop further harm. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. This is a textbook example of emotional manipulation and control. You can see how hard it is for victims to speak honestly when the abuser is right there. Glad officers didn't fall for the lies and kept pushing for the truth. Everyone thought it was too late until the body cam shows the exact second officer step in. Did you predict that rescue? >> Is that the way you felt like I was interfering? I'm not saying multiple times, man. >> I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying I may be in the wrong. >> But that's what you did. That's what you did. On July 21st, 2025, police arrive for a welfare check after the man's mother reports he was in an accident. It's like Hey, I'm >> I don't want to touch. I'll just walk in. >> There he's right here. He's good. >> All right, Jonathan. I didn't know where I lived. I got to know the address off top of my head. Both my phones were dead. >> Okay. >> So, I had them drive me. They drove me for a little bit and I thought we were at the right place. I told them to drop me off. I walked and I figured out it wasn't this place. >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. So you got kind of lost in your way. >> Yeah. So I was walking around a little bit and I did get struck by a vehicle out in the middle of the road while I was walking. I went Yeah, it was my own fault. >> So um when you got hit, did you like call? >> No, I didn't I didn't have no phone or nothing. I got hit by a vehicle. These people got out. Officers clarify this is only a wellness check. The man apologizes and cooperates while the friend remains argumentative and hostile. >> I'm done. >> Yeah, you should be doing Absolutely. >> All right. Go ahead. >> Take your badge off. Let's see who's the man. >> You threatened me, >> dude. I would never threaten. I make a promise. That's it. >> He's not. >> I know my right. >> He's He's not threatening you one bad. Please, just >> listen. When we get called like this of service, we just got to make sure everything's okay. You obviously called your mom in some sort of state of mind. >> Absolutely. >> She called me. When I finally got inside, I went to bed and whenever I called her, she said, "Oh, the police are on their way already." I said, "Just call them and tell them everything's fine, ma." Like, I just I went to bed. >> I was freaked out when I pulled up police cars here. Listen, I'm here to make sure whatever she claimed is not going to happen. Right. >> I I give you my word. So, you need to call your mom back. >> I did. >> No, like right now. >> Okay, I'll call her. >> She's calling She's calling us, right? Saying that you want to commit suicide. >> Look, I will call her >> cuz if I come back, we'll take you to get evaluated. >> While the man speaks calmly with his mother, the friend continues interfering and is warned multiple times to step away. >> I know my dad's been there. >> Just Just call her. >> Ma, >> hello. >> Can >> Hey, I am with the police. Are you going to go now? >> No. >> We got a call from your mom to come check you out and make sure you're okay because you called her in some sort of state of mind. I'm here to evaluate that one day. You're okay. Your friend wants to interfere and tell you what to say. >> I told him to stop. He kept going. >> I I understand that. And he You got to realize he's not in the 100% state of mind. He's been out in the sun all day today. Officer, please. >> You don't treat officers like that. >> I do. I I No, I'm not saying I do. I I understand where you're coming from. 110%. >> 1,0%. >> Are you on the phone with your mom? >> Yes, she's right here. >> Are you here, ma? >> I'm here. >> Okay, >> ma'am. This is Officer Young with the Key West Police. >> Hi, Officer. >> Hi. So, we responded. >> I I got it. Listen, we responded to your call of service. I evaluated your son. He doesn't have any injuries on him that I can see. Yes, he did say he did got hit by a car, but he didn't call, so it wasn't that serious. He told me that he >> Police explained the friend's detention is due solely to interference. The son remains cooperative and is cleared >> in mind of finding back his location. Um, he told me he has no ideation of suicide to me. I don't know what the phone call between you and him was, but upon my evaluation, that is not in any clear state of mind where I had to take him into effective custody. >> Okay. Yes. Him and his friends. >> I appreciate that. It just at the time, you know, I I know everybody that was with him was not there. You know, he just >> she looks out for me and I love her. >> Listen, you're doing your mom's duty. I get it. Please don't arrest his friend. >> Well, if he wants to interfere and get in the middle of it, he's going to go. >> I'm just letting you know cuz I know you wanted a phone call back. That's why I hadn't call you while I was here to let you know that I do not see anything with your son, ma'am. Um I if you have any, you know, you can always call us and we always respond. That's what I'm doing. Unfortunately, his friends want to get in the way when I told him to stop. Okay? We don't play this game with Florida. All right? This is considered an investigation at this point. He wants to interfere. He's an interfering with an investigation. He's detained. >> The friend continues verbal outbursts. refuses to properly identify, makes threatening statements, and escalates his own situation. >> But for your son's for your son, he seems completely fine to me. Yes, they were drinking today, so that could add a little factor into it. Do you understand? >> Do you have any other questions? Do you have any other questions for me? >> Means more than he's used to. No, I I don't. I again, I appreciate you checking on my son. So, >> I love you, Ma. Thank you for looking out for me. I love you. >> So, here's the deal, man. One, I'm talking to your buddy, right? >> I get it. I get it. >> I have to do my job, but you want to interfere. I told you to stop multiple times. >> I'm back in the blue. >> Yeah, I get it. You're back in the blue%. >> But you weren't listening to me. You weren't listening to me. I pack the blue, dude. I really do. I promise you if I'm ever out in public and just some random person. So I live in Memphis, dude. So if a random person pulls a gun on a cop, y I promise you I'm the first person to jump in. I mean that 100%. So I literally have no idea what why this is going on. >> She want to be I literally wish you would just talk to me about it. >> I am talking to you about it. That's why I've had another come about it, man. Cuz I really don't know why. >> We're detained now. All right. For interfering into my investigation. All right. >> I also know that you just came here just to check on him. So, I do feel bad for that. So, >> yes, >> I get it. I get it. I'm a lover, man. I get it. I get it. >> I get it's your friend, but you don't interfere when I'm talking to him, right? >> Is that way Is that the way you felt like I was interfering? I'm not saying multiple times, man. >> I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying I may be in the wrong. >> That's what you did. That's what you did. I do believe that. >> All right. So, stand there. This officer is going to stay with you. >> Yes, sir. >> I'll be respectful. her and her only. >> Absolutely. Can you get the [ __ ] out of here, dude? No [ __ ] >> No. >> Officers formally arrest the friend, explaining failure to comply and interference. He continues arguing while being processed. >> What's your first name? >> Bane. D. Bane. D. Do you also know that I have absolutely >> Do you know that you have absolutely no >> What's your middle name? Do you know how badly I'm going to [ __ ] you guys up over this? >> What is your middle name? >> Evan Ava N. Do you know how badly I'm going to [ __ ] you up over this? Absolutely nothing wrong. >> Nope. Absolutely. Oh, absolutely it does. Cuz you're so entitled. >> May I make a phone call? >> Maybe you're entitled. 21. Going to be yourself. >> What's your birthday? >> Doesn't matter if you're not going to [ __ ] let me call anybody. It doesn't matter what my [ __ ] birthday is. >> What's your birthday? >> Doesn't [ __ ] matter. >> So, you're failing to ID to a police officer. >> Dude, I'm not b I'm not bowing down to your [ __ ] [ __ ] I'm really go to jail. >> I want to go I want to make phone call. Pick me up. Okay. Absolutely nothing. >> There's nothing inside. There's no law inside. >> Okay, we'll see. We'll see. The friend is taken into custody, escorted to booking, and continues yelling as officers calmly complete intake procedures. Let your wife be okay. >> Yes, sir. >> This is [ __ ] I know. This is [ __ ] garbage, too. >> I've literally done nothing. >> No problem. >> Copy. I'm literally just here. You guys are coming to get me in because you're coming. >> Took my friend out and now I'm going to jail for that. >> Were you on video right now? >> We're videoing. >> It's absolutely [ __ ] good in the back. >> Absolutely. >> Camera wise. >> Oh, yeah. >> It does, dude. You're correct. >> You're correct. >> All right. When we get upstairs, you're going to see a bench to your right straight corner. You're going to go take a seat on that bench. When ready for you, they will come and come to you and do everything they need to do. >> Yes, sir. >> You have nothing on you, right? That you didn't find. We didn't find. >> They're going to full body scan you. So, >> nothing on you. >> See that? Dude, this is so [ __ ] You know it is, [ __ ] This is so [ __ ] >> I've literally done absolutely [ __ ] nothing else. >> The detained individual was arrested for interfering with an active investigation and failure to comply with lawful commands. The welfare check subject was not arrested, not hospitalized, and cleared of suicidal intent after police evaluation. Remember, interfering with a police investigation, even with good intentions, can turn a non-issue into an arrest. Remaining calm and letting officers do their job, often determines how an encounter ends. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. The friend made everything worse. This would have ended in minutes if he just stepped back. The guy being checked was calm and cooperative. His friend completely derailed the situation. This is a perfect example of how interference, not the original call, led to the arrest. You think this call can't get worse? The body cam captures the exact second officer's rushing [bell] comment if you felt that spike. >> Did he say where it was where the round was where it was shot? There's blood everywhere. >> I'm trying to find the kid. >> I was upstairs in bed. I don't know what happened. I just went downstairs through the blood and grabbed it. On November 6th, 2025, police responded to a chaotic scene after a young child suffered a gunshot injury inside a home. >> Man, what's going on? >> He got in my drawer. He got my gun. [screaming] >> You want to sit down? [laughter] Q6. It's going to be a small child. >> Officers confirmed the weapon was a 9mm Glock handgun belonging to the child's father. The child is alive but has severe hand injuries. >> Shot himself in the hand with the father's handgun. I believe he is alive currently. >> Glock nine. Six supervising. It's a Glock 9mm handgun. >> Okay. >> Hello. >> Got a probably three or four year old that blew his hand off with a 9 millimeter. Uh just I talked to the dad briefly. He said he got into his I said, "What is going on, man?" And I said, "He got into my nightstand and got my gun and blew his hand off. He's crying." >> Emergency responders determined the injury is critical, requiring air medical transport. The child is conscious and crying. >> And screaming and can feel him sticking needles in him and eyes are open, but it's pretty gnarly injury. I have Tim down there now, but we're going to have to Briner got to report the kid was dead. He's far from dead, but it is pretty serious. He's definitely going to have to go on the helicopter. I've only seen a little bit of the hand, but I didn't The little bit that I seen looks not good. >> Sir, I'm I'm sorry to be this way, but I'm going to the hospital. >> Sir, I need you to stay here. >> I can't. I got to go see my son. >> Listen to me. Is the house open? >> I just shut it. >> Is it unlocked? >> I don't know. I live right here >> in this fourth five. >> Yep. >> Okay. So, whatever happened happened here at your son's house? >> This place right here. >> Okay. >> My son is screaming for me. >> I know. I hear you. So, you were not in this house today? This Okay, what we got? >> Uh, 5-year-old autistic kid lives here with dad. >> Kid got into dad's nightstand, pulled the knife. >> Officers secure the scene while learning the father transported the child to the hospital himself, leaving visible blood trails from the home. >> Millm out of dad's nightstand and blew his hand off. >> Blew the kid's hand off. Yep. Kid shot himself in the hand. We tend to believe that story. said, "I don't know. I don't know these people." >> I don't either. >> All right. Camera there. >> Yep. >> At least one. >> So, this is grandpa that lives here. >> Grandpa lives here. >> Yep. Grandpa went to the hospital with dad. I got blood coming out of the house going over to where And then there's peel out marks where the dad left. And >> yeah, I was in radio when the call came out. I'm like, "Oh [ __ ] I better haul ass on 81." I don't know if it was a kid abduction or what was going on. Like I was in radio. They had like four to six 911 like nobody talking and at least one talking and it was like oh my god. >> Yeah, there was Yeah, call No, still alive. >> Okay. >> Hello. So, I've not been in the house, but I got blood coming out of the front door dripping down the drive or the sidewalk over to where the car left. Then I got >> Investigators established that the child described as autistic accessed the firearm from inside the residence without adult supervision. peel out marks, which is consistent with everybody said dad was running around banging on doors telling people call 911. Then he said, "I'm taking the kid to the hospital myself and loaded him up and and took off." So, I got crime scene tape up. Um, I got drops of blood coming out of the house down the sidewalk into where the car was parked. I have not been in the house. I believe it's locked up. I haven't even tried to open the door yet. So, >> is there anyone else at your house, man? >> Uh, I brought my daughter with me. I seen her out in the waiting room. What's your name? >> Yo. Um, they're trying to get a hold of our investigation staff. Kids alive. >> The father gives consent for officers to enter and search the home, including recovering missing fingers and securing firearms. Uh, he's born in 2017. He's he ain't going to have a whole hand. >> Are we on a three-way here? >> Um, I was just going to call tell Dalton just to meet me out here cuz the dude is out here. Um, he's given consent to go in the house to at least go retrieve the fingers. I'm going to talk to the dad a little bit more. >> See if we can get consent to go in and do the whole thing. He said they could go in there, didn't he? >> Did you guys get a hold of mom? I don't know if they've gotten a hold of the mom or not yet. >> Uh I know they're going in there to try to find the fingers. Can they go in there and process it and >> anything? >> Okay. They can go in there and uh get the gun and secure the gun. >> Okay. >> If anything changes with that, let me know. Okay. >> No, no, no. >> All right. Okay. He gave us consent to do whatever we needed to do in there. Um, I told him to get a hold of me if that changes, but as of right now, you have full access to do whatever the police need to do in there is what he told me. So, >> inside the home, officers locate blood throughout the residence, a spent casing, a magazine, and signs of the shooting's path. All right, we'll go in and check what my dispatch know 13 just got a call from the hospital. Uh they're wanting uh digits recovered from the child. We're going to go in the house and see if we can recover those. Sheriff's office. Make yourself known if you're in here. >> Police department. Got blood right here. Blood there. All through here. Oh, upstairs looks like. >> Okay. >> Oh, wait. There's a there's a casing right there. Oh, there's Okay, there's the there's a magazine. Here's blood. Here's blood up. Blood up here. Chad stops right here though. >> Got no nothing. >> That's an attic. >> No blood there. >> Okay. Did he say where it was where the round was where it was shot? There's blood everywhere. >> I'm trying to find the kid's fingers. Man, I have officers on the phone that are down at your house. Where are the Where did it h Where were the fingers? >> I don't know. I was upstairs in bed. I don't know what happened. I just went downstairs in the blood and grabbed him and started dealing. >> Okay. So, you don't know where he got >> I It was in the bathroom in a top cabinet is where it was, but it was inside of a holster wrapped around some inside the towel. >> Okay. All right. It was in the bathroom in a top cabinet down >> uh and it was like wrapped in cloths and stuff. So, it should be I mean I believe he doesn't know cuz he woke up and heard this. >> Oh, here's one. >> Oh, you got something? >> Yep. Got it. >> Right here. >> How many fingers are we missing? We found one. >> How many fingers are we missing? >> Two. Uh, we're missing two. >> Ring and pinky. >> Ring and pinky fingers. >> Ring and pinky. I've got We got one finger. We're still looking for the other one. Witnesses and family members described the father panicking, asking neighbors to call 911 and immediately leaving for the hospital. >> And just tip of >> Okay, it's going to be just like the tip of the pinky finger. >> Your antibiotic. >> Tip of the pinky. Okay. I got one whole finger and I got looks like a tip of maybe a bone. >> Okay. Yeah, we'll do some digging. But I think I got I think I've got a bone here. Okay. >> All I got is a big Ziploc bag, though. >> That'll work. >> I'm trying to find a different plastic bag though to wrap. >> Yeah, there's the That's the tip of his finger. >> Okay. >> So, they have they said they got one finger and then they got maybe the tip of the other one. >> That should be just come out here. >> He's requesting you take Well, >> you just take them all. Take all the guns. >> Oh, yeah. We'll deal with that in time. We everything. We got it. It'll be all right, man. We'll get through it. But Nothing else. If you find something else, just let me know. >> There's this. Okay. Here's this. >> 217. What's the address? [panting] >> Fingers. >> Thank you so much. Okay. >> Okay. >> Good. Did you talk an officer out at the hospital just now or? >> No. >> Okay. Can you give me a statement on what you what happened this morning with you or >> All I got was a phone call and I couldn't understand one word >> from your son. >> From my son. He was just it was screaming. >> The father is read his rights. He declines to give a detailed statement at that time but cooperates with evidence collection. >> And then there was a kid in the background. >> Yeah. and he said he I can't honestly say what he said. There was just so much screaming. >> I'm I'm recording this right now. I just want to let you know. Okay, that's fine. >> So, you were at your daughter's house. You got a phone call from your son and he's screaming frantically. >> He's frantically frankly. And he says he's and and I I heard him say, "I can't get 911 on the phone." And so I I first thing I did is I hung up, called 911, told him the address, and I came here. >> He was already gone to the hospital. And >> that's when I pulled up. That's what when you pulled up I was out panicked. >> Okay. >> Your son's on his way to Springfield. >> Thank you, sir. Very much. >> Grandson's okay, though. I mean, he's gonna be okay. >> I hope so. >> Uh, lost some fingers. How long does this you I asked you like usual take? >> I'm just clean up. I would like to get in there and clean up the blood before he comes home and sees it all. >> Just be a few hours. >> A few hours. Okay. >> Hello. Can I talk to you for a second? >> Sure. What uh what what did you see or what happened this morning? First of all, I'm recording this. Okay. >> Okay. No problem. Uh well, I heard uh somebody knock my door. They slam it like very hard. It was like around 7:30, I think. >> And so I when I dress up, I just saw the lady. She was here and she told me, "Can you please call 911? Something's happening." Okay. So I went inside. I grabbed my phone and start calling 911. But then I saw that guy from here. He took the two kids. It was I saw a boy and a girl. >> Yeah. >> And he left his car. That's >> You didn't see Did you see any blood or anything like that? Nothing. >> No, not one one of the kids was crying. I remember that. >> Okay. >> Tim, >> nice to meet you. Um, does your camera work just a robbery? >> Yes, it does. But my daughter just called me >> and my sensitivity is not on. The only thing it captured, you're going to have to get her or take my phone or whatever to get it. >> Okay. Uh, only in it captioned I believe was him. This ain't his blood. >> I'm guessing he sits here and plays video games and watches the kids play on the cameras. >> He does have cameras in his home. I'm not sure if they record us to just like if he goes upstairs because the one that got injured is autistic. >> Okay. >> So, he can't be left alone clearly. But he usually has them like just on live view so he can go to different Yeah. monitor. Um but I will ask him I asked my mom cuz she's with them if they record and if they did record anything so we can get you >> Yeah. And I saw the DVR behind the TV um for it. >> Okay. >> So that's I guess kind of where we're at. He's we're just going to collect the evidence. >> Okay. >> And go from there. [snorts] >> I know I just talked to you the other day. Um I have the camera. Okay. >> Um I want to read your race real quick for pages cuz I want to talk to you. Okay. >> Go to Springfield. Don't >> Yeah, the we're waiting on the helicopter's got to come. So >> him I know, but do I get to go? >> I don't. We'll we'll figure it all out here shortly. >> All right. I'm going to read your rights. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court of law. You understand those rights? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So just what I know you probably explained it but >> investigators allow the father to travel to the hospital while advising the case remains under investigation. [snorts] >> Don't think it's rude or anything but I'm not saying anything >> at all >> cuz I don't know. I just woke up. >> Okay. So tell me what happened when you woke up then. I guess I'm going >> take this room and I'm going to remain silent. Okay. That is fine. I'll let you get back with a break. [snorts] >> All right, we're all done. >> Um, I locked the door just so we don't have to get a hold of him to hear him say that you guys can go in there. So, any questions for us or anything? >> Well, there's two questions, but I don't know how to answer ask them. I >> just got the phone call from mother. >> Mhm. >> And he's going to lose four fingers. >> Okay. I you know honestly I'm glad I'm glad he's losing four fingers and he's alive. >> All right. Thank you. >> You have any questions? Don't hesitate to call. >> Do you want to go to Springfield? Is that what you're wanting to do? >> Let me call my investigator real quick. See if they need you for anything else. >> Yeah. >> Oh, thanks. >> Hello. You don't need him for anything else than now. Right now, cuz he's thinking he's going to jail. So, he can go to Springfield as far as you guys are concerned, right? All right. I'll talk to him. Nick, >> I talked to the investigators. Um, they said you go to Springfield if you want to. It's not probably the last time that you'll hear from them, but you can go ahead and go down there with your kid and then we we know you're not skipping town. So, >> can you take this? >> I love you, baby. It's okay. Hey, they're just talking to me. It's okay. >> Yep. We're just talking. >> So, it's not we're not saying it's over. Obviously, >> the father was charged with failure to properly secure a firearm and child endangerment. Officers seized the 9mm handgun spent casing and home surveillance system as evidence. The case proceeded via a notice to appear with further review by investigators and prosecutors. Remember, firearms must always be secured, especially in homes with young children or special needs dependent. A single lapse in safe storage can lead to irreversible lifealtering consequences. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. This is every parent's worst nightmare. Secure your guns. No excuses. I'm just grateful the child survived. Think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. The next incident is when irresponsible mom leaves her 17-month-old baby home alone to buy Croc. >> Lord, please don't take me to jail. What? >> How old is your daughter? >> She's 17 months. >> Are you kidding me? On November 04th, 2024, officers stop a vehicle traveling the wrong way on a street. The driver appears nervous and avoids eye contact. >> Why I'm stressing so bad. >> Okay. Well, we're not just going to let you go. Hey, >> you got the car in park? >> All right. Y'all look like they weren't going to stop for a minute. >> I I was just about to turn around when I hit this corner cuz the do not enter sign. >> Wrong way. >> That's That's why we stopped in the middle of the street. You're the wrong way. >> Yeah. here. Can I talk to you out here? You're not in trouble. I just don't want to hear hear yelling, that's all. >> Um, are you the registered owner of the car? >> No. >> It's not registered to me now. >> Okay. Who's it belong to? >> A friend of mine. >> Gotcha. Is that your friend that's in the car? >> No, not her. >> Is that a her? >> Oh, I I I'm not trying to be rude. I literally from this way I thought it might have been a guy. Sorry. >> And I I literally when >> I came up the street and got midway, I saw the sign. So, I was just about to turn around, but I saw you coming. So, I wasn't >> I'm going to be real with you. The reason you got that car up there like that, like nose to nose, is cuz I thought you were going to run. Okay. >> Not you personally necessarily, but I thought the car was going to run. Did you think about it for a minute? Maybe being real? >> No, I wasn't sure. >> Wasn't sure if you might just not stop. >> No, I wasn't sure if you were going to turn those lights on cuz I was just about to turn around. Um, so what brings you out and about right now? >> Just Okay. >> Is your driver's license on you or is in the car? >> Um, I do not have them right now. >> Okay. Do you have a a valid driver's license? >> Um, >> you have a look to me right now like you're worried you're going to go to jail. >> Well, it's not so much that. It's just I wasn't not going to stop, but I was realizing that I came in the wrong way. When I saw the sign, it's just midway in the street. So, >> sure. I understand that >> you do seem like you're afraid you're going to go to jail, and I don't really know why. Is it because your license? Is it because of something else? Is there something? >> It's just my daughter. That's it. But I literally was taking her to the store and going to go pick her up. So >> my partner looked up your license. You've been revoked for a long time. You know your license ain't no good. >> It's revoked. >> It's been revoked since 2016. >> Please leave me alone. >> No. If you would have told me, >> are you? Cuz I could I can the front lights for you. >> Officers observe heightened anxiety and inconsistent explanations. Victoria repeatedly expresses fear of going to jail. >> That other guy. >> Well, it's my it's my truck, so all you have to do is ask. Hey, perfect. I don't know if I'm comfortable. >> During questioning, officers uncovered drugrelated indicators including a homemade smoking device and suspicious behavior from occupants. >> That because I just got my car from somebody I want to say yesterday. Yesterday or the day before they had my car like all night. So I I would not want to give consent to that because I haven't had time to clean it. I I started earlier. You worried there might be something illegal in there? >> No. >> Okay. Well, that's all we're looking for. We're not looking for We don't care about a mess. What might she have? >> Well, where we just came from, um, I thought she put whatever she may have had up because she had me wait for her. She was on a bike. >> What do you mean put it up? >> She went and took the bike in the house. Officers discover a plastic baggie concealed in Victoria's bra later determined to contain drug residue. >> Can you go ahead just step out? >> Oh my god. >> Uh back. >> Y'all just cuz I had that. >> Yeah. >> So I'm >> so It's a court date. >> That's all day. >> Are you homeless right now? >> No. Why is y'all doing that right now, bro? Is that why I'm going to jail? You don't have >> You're not going to jail. Oh, >> she's searching you man. Man, I left >> car. >> What you looking at? Is that a Did you make a part out of a mini bottle? >> Yeah. >> And you return. When was the last time you smoked? >> Smart, >> huh? >> Smart. >> Yeah. >> You getting up and getting? >> Oh, you you >> Thank you. Sleep all day. >> What is that going to be? >> She can smell it. not. >> I do have a plastic bag here. >> Why do you have this? >> Because I feed my baby snacks sometimes. So, >> you normally keep it like in your shirt. >> Sometimes just because when I go to prepare her snacks, I don't have one. >> So, she had a baggie on her that she claimed had her kids snacks in it, but she pulled it out of her shirt. She says >> Victoria becomes increasingly distressed while being temporarily detained. Officers clarify she is not under arrest at that moment. >> She said, >> I was like in the bra. >> Listen, tangible. >> She pulled this baggie out of her shirt. Um, had nothing in it. >> Sandwich bag. >> Okay, we know that's not a sandwich bag. That is a sandwich bag. Okay. intention, but that's not what it was for. Let's be real. >> You ask me. >> I already told him I don't >> I'm just I I asked questions. >> You ask way too many weird questions. >> It's not weird. I just I'm just very >> I'm very, >> you know, I know my stuff very well. That's why that's why I asked. >> All right, Victoria, can you do me a favor? We're going to walk to the front of this car. >> Oh, hell no. with all my >> huh you want to sit on >> together first. >> I I have to walk over them, please. >> I have to walk over here with you. >> Oh my god. They walk me over here and you say I'm not going to jail. >> No, just just have a seat. >> I'm not see what I need this car to stop leaking. >> I can't control that. >> What am I doing? >> What am I doing? >> You're just getting detained right now, >> man. You say that. now. But what's the problem? >> No, >> I'll explain it all to you in a second. Just saying. >> So, what am I getting charged for? >> You're not getting charged. I just told you you're getting detained. >> That's like I said, you have you have the that's a court date. >> Uh, >> so what are you trying to do now? >> I just like to play that trickery. >> Victoria reveals a critical detail. Her 17-month-old daughter is home alone, left unattended while she was out driving. >> That's what that is. >> Yeah. Hey, I'm not on them games though. See detain nothing at this point. >> Oh lord. Going to take me to jail. >> You're not going. We're not arresting you right now. >> We'll explain to you what's going on. Give you a light here. >> Hold up. Hold up. Hold up. >> So, you guys are detained based off what we found in the car. Okay. >> What's that? >> Was in the car. Ain't got nothing to do with me. I going >> Yeah, I I hear you. We'll talk to you in a second. >> Her over here. We're just going to have her sit in the car and wait. >> The reason I didn't want to give consent to search my car and my story hasn't changed, but my daughter's home. That's what >> officers immediately shift focus to child safety, securing the home address, and arranging a welfare check for the infant. my >> How old is your daughter? >> She's 17 months. >> Are you kidding me? Right now, >> I was going around and this is why I didn't want to go through. >> Why on earth did you leave your 17-month-old home alone? >> Because I came to my friend's house and I was going right back. And like I said, when I went, she asked me for a ride. I was literally taking her and going home. >> Is your house on locker now? >> No. That's why I'm stressing so bad. >> Okay. Well, we're not just going to let you go. So, now we have to figure out you have Come here. Come here. Take a seat. >> Go to jail, please. >> I didn't have anything. >> I didn't have any. >> Where's the keys to your house? We need to go check on your daughter. >> They're in my purse. Everything that belongs to me is in my purse. What's your address? >> So, do you have anyone that can go over there right now? You're not going to jail. I just need you to sit down in the car. >> Victoria admits to a recent drug relapse after 7 years of sobriety. Officers challenge inconsistencies in her account. >> I just need you to sit down in the car. I'm going to I'm going to have the door open and we're going to continue to talk. >> Yeah. >> All right. When did you leave your daughter at the house? >> So, it's been about 30 minutes now. >> It's 1:52 right now. >> It's got residue. >> Okay. It's >> I need you to be very honest with me right now cuz you've got a baggie in your bra. You said it's for your kids snacks. I know that's a lie cuz it's got residue in it. You're keeping residue with your kids snacks. I don't think so. You're looking around like you're trying to come up with an answer. I need you to just be honest with me. Why do you have a baggie with residue in your bra? >> I must have left it in there earlier, but I didn't know it was anything in it. Cuz when I when he I don't want to move suddenly, but when he asked me, "Is there anything there?" I started pushing and I was like, "Oh [ __ ] I do have a bag up here." But I didn't know there was anything in it cuz I thought it was empty. That was from earlier today. >> Not thinking that we would find out that there's >> Yeah, I didn't know it was anything in it. That's why I gave it to you. >> I understand. Do you do you understand why it's weird that you would just have like an empty baggie that you found earlier today >> and then it was just tucked in your bra? >> I didn't know it was still in there is what I'm saying. I happened to when he asked me, "Do you have anything on you?" And I started doing this. I thought it was my um >> the cushion to my bra. >> Okay. >> And so I didn't realize it was up there. I I knew I had my bank card, but I didn't realize >> I had a relapse after seven years. So >> there's a innocent center console. You left your 17-month old baby home alone on the side of your bed. You've got a baggie with residue in your bra. You told me that you relapsed, but you're saying that you haven't smoked in a while. I don't believe you. Here's what I think happened. I think that you know that she knows where to get cuz you know that she smokes. I think that she asked you for a ride. I think that you drove through 23. >> With no suitable caregiver immediately available, officers coordinate temporary care through a family member. >> Street looking to pick up. I think that you've got a in the center console with that. I think that you did a big loop around Moors because you knew that there were police here earlier today and you wanted to make sure there weren't still police here before you came up to Morris and you weren't paying attention and you drove the wrong way here cuz you were looking for police. That's what I think. I need you to be honest with me about what actually happened cuz I don't believe that you don't smoke right now and that you haven't smoked in a week because no one keeps a baggie with residue in their bra just by accident because they think it's something else in the padding of their bra. >> If I had I would have handed it to him in his hand when I found that baggy. I didn't know anything was in there. >> And I think you talked to my partner something about you you have a grandfather or someone that lives on Orange AB. >> Yeah. >> Okay. What's their name? >> Frederick. >> So, her grandfather, she said, doesn't see very well. So, you may have to try to find another adult. How old is your grandfather? >> In his 80s. >> In his 80s. When you say doesn't see well, like can he care for himself? >> He does care for himself, but not great. >> Ma'am, is your grandfather going to be totally out of the question? I don't I don't think there's anybody else that'll come and get hurt. I mean, they don't >> Are you okay with the car seat going to your grandfather? Does he still drive? >> What What's grandpa's name? >> Okay, I'm going to go there now. I'll take the car seat and then in the event that uh pass. Come on, >> Tangelo. What? >> Can you pass? >> Single turn. Single turn. >> I can't park it. You can't park it. >> Victoria was charged with child neglect and drug possession. Officers prioritized locating and safeguarding the unattended child before completing enforcement actions. The case proceeded through standard criminal and child welfare review channels. Remember, leaving a young child unattended, even briefly, can quickly turn into a life-threatening situation. Substance abuse often leads to impaired judgment that places children at serious risk. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. That poor baby. This could have ended so much worse. 30 minutes is more than enough time for tragedy. Addiction doesn't just hurt the user, it endangers everyone around them. You think the officers were out of options here. Watch what happens next on the body cam and tell us if you would have done the same. The next incident is when toddler left in car while parents steal Pokémon cards from Target. >> Oh my god. Okay. >> No, we were going to leave the baby in the car and then hopefully your mom can meet the tow truck driver. What kind of question is that? >> On January 03, 2022, store security and deputies stop a couple suspected of shoplifting Pokemon trading cards from a Target store. >> Pick them up. >> Either you call on man. >> Hey, what's up? >> What's up? Sam's girlfriend. ID on you. >> No, sir. What's his first name? >> William. >> M. I have your ID on you. >> So, I think the that time is steal Pokemon cards, man. >> Yeah. Yeah. That um just so we have an understanding. She had nothing. >> She was right there with you when you can see. >> I It is totally me, man. Totally me. 100% me. >> You guys put the Pokemon cards into the >> Yeah, I I I you will give them back, of course. Uh this 100% my responsibility, sir. Do seriously, honest to God? Um, I am short on my rent and they are very valuable and I I was hoping to pull something in order to make up the money. >> Officers locate the stolen merchandise concealed inside the vehicle. Attempts to resolve the situation by paying are rejected. >> I'm short on my rent. >> Where are the cards in the car? >> Yeah, >> I know. Where they >> in the back seat. And >> by the way, you can't say she had nothing to do with it when that's all you guys came in here for. And you concealed it right next to her. >> Just so you're aware of that. Yes, sir. I get what you're saying. I'm just saying she would have never >> Doesn't matter. She was right there with you. >> Say, I don't know if it would make a difference. Is there any way we could pay for it? >> This isn't an apology type of thing. >> You've already done it. You know what I mean? There's no way to just suddenly, hey, we're going to pay for everything because we got caught by the police. >> Yes, sir. >> You ever been arrested before? >> Yes, sir. >> For what? when I was a juvenile um stealing from Walmart when I or being with somebody who was stealing from Walmart when I was a juvenile and um for battery as an adult man I guess so >> could I call my dad to come get my son please >> yeah we'll figure that out in a second okay >> my dad come with me >> do not call anybody right now we don't want to make it a bigger scene than it has to be okay Sit back. >> Am I? >> So, have a seat back in the car for a minute. >> Okay. But, can I ask a question? >> Have a seat back in the car. Okay. Have a seat. >> Just keep your hands on the dash. Keep the door open. Okay. Yeah. You also stole stuff with the baby. >> Yeah. >> That doesn't matter. >> I I have the money for it. I can pay. >> Yeah. But guys, I just told him that's not how this works. You don't get to suddenly want to pay for things after you get caught by the police. It's not how it works. >> I literally You can literally see that I yelled for him. Like I literally >> walked right over to you and concealed it. It's on video. >> I I literally >> You watched him do everything. You can >> Officers confirm the couple's one-year-old child was left unattended in the car during the theft. >> Nope. >> Okay. All right. I just >> You also have all this stuff here. Same situation. Well, that's bulk from what we had before and we were going through all of our stuff. >> Regardless, it's the same situation. >> Am I going to know when his bail is or does he have to call me or >> wait? Okay, >> you're asking all these questions and you're just as involved as he is. You understand that, right? >> Yeah, but >> Okay, so stop asking questions being that you might be taking the ride with him. Do you understand what's going on here? >> Yeah, I do. >> Do you understand what's going on? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay, so stop acting stupid. Okay. Well, I'm just curious. >> And understand you're doing this with a kid. That elevates things. >> Yeah, but I I can't talk to him. >> No. >> Because even if he doesn't want to press charges, >> the state of Florida does get to press. >> Thank you. I'll go get the press on. >> We got child endangerment on what they had. How old is your child? A year old. >> A year old. Then they use a shoulder cover for it. >> All right, Courtney. You want to call your uh your father to come pick up your son? >> Why? I want >> Yeah, you're being you're being placed under arrest. >> Wait, what? Please, can I just be with the baby? >> I am being a decent human. You literally put your one-year-old child in danger. >> How is that? >> You cannot do a crime and then nothing happens because you have a kid. >> It is happening. I'm born. We use the stroller as a ways of concealing the >> merchandise being arrested. >> And so is she. I need you to call your dad to come pick him up. >> Either you call him or I call DCF. >> I'll take the phone. >> A family member is contacted and agrees to take custody of the toddler at the scene. >> Call him. >> What's his first name? >> His name is William. >> Okay. >> Please. I just want to make it with my baby. Please. >> You can deal with him when you get out, but you are going to jail tonight. Okay. Please, I can't be without him. >> Hello. >> Hey, how are you? This is Deputy Cons County Sheriff's Office. How you doing? >> Um, I'm fine. How are you? >> I'm doing good. Hey, I'm with Courtney right now. Uh, where are you located currently? >> Okay. Right now, I'm in um >> Okay. Can you come over to uh the target on >> Absolutely. >> All right. Just to make you aware before you show up on scene, you're going to be taking custody of her child. She's being placed under arrest. >> Okay. All right. >> Okay. >> So, we're over here right now, but how long do you think you'll be? >> Um, about 15 minutes. >> Okay. Can I get you the exact Can you look at the exact address? >> Stop. >> All right. Perfect. >> Yes. I'll be there in 15 minutes. >> All right. Judy, thank you. I'll see you soon. All right. Bye. >> Can I ask a question, please? >> Go ahead. >> Um, before you put me under press, please. >> Oh my god, that's my panic attack. Okay. >> Um, first thing, um, are they going to post my bail tonight? >> I I don't know. I don't control Bond. So, what I am going to do is obviously I don't want to place you in handcuffs in case we still need to, you know, worry about the child. So, as of right now, I'm going to keep you out of handcuffs, okay? But I do need you to take out all your everything out of your pockets. I need your key lanyard, you know, all that stuff. Okay? >> Okay. Is >> listen to what I'm telling you for, okay? I'm being very cordial with you. I don't want to place you in handcuffs until your mom gets here. That way, she can take custody of your son. >> Okay? >> Can I grab him and hold him, please? >> Not right now because I don't want to get into a fight with you over your child. Okay? No, no, that's I'm not going to give you that option to Okay. What's your What's your son's first name? >> So, if you want to go ahead and just have a seat right on this curb for me. >> Can I please hold >> Have a seat on the curb, Courtney. >> Have a seat on the curb. Thank you. I don't want to handcuff you in case you need to do something with your child. Okay. So, just bear with us. All right. All right. Will you have the right to remain silent answer any of my questions? Any statement can will be used against you in a court of law. You understand your rights. So >> you guys are stealing these for to sell them because you got you got a ton of cards in there. Do you can't sell those? >> Yeah, we >> I'm kind of confused, man, cuz that's like a >> Yeah, we a lot of them like the ones that >> Yeah, they're not worth a lot. The ones that are in >> The parents explain they intended to resell Pokémon cards to cover rent. Store staff confirm concealment on surveillance video. >> Sleeves we have valued. >> We're $100 short of what our rent is. And that's why >> I got And how do you sell them? You just sell them locally. Offer up and stuff. >> Yeah. Offer up or to a game. They're >> that crazy. >> Yeah. Or or to a game shop. They buy them immediately for cash. >> Okay. Fair enough. All right. Is there anything in that car besides Pokémon cards I need to be aware of? Yes, sir. >> Okay. So, there's While I'm searching the uh the rest of the car inside of a not only I, we have a cigarette or cigar. All right. That was on your side. >> Okay. >> So, I'll take responsibility. >> Well, I don't want you to take Is it yours or is it hers? >> The cigarette is mine. >> Okay. So, that's fine. Um, and then, uh, there's a Milwaukee lunch box. What's in the lunch box? >> A Milwaukee lunch box? >> Yeah. It's like Oh, I'm sorry. No, it's a So, it's a red lunch box. >> Uhhuh. >> Is what's in that lunch box yours? >> Um, uh, actually, we went um fishing earlier today with my niece and two of my friends, and they left a lunch box and a fishing pole in my car. >> But it's unzipped and opened. That's what I'm saying. Like, that's weird. >> Yeah. I I >> And inside of there, we have pills and a pill bottle and a pill cutter. >> Yeah. >> No, sir. So, the lunch box isn't yours? >> No, sir. >> Is it going to be hers? >> No, it is not hers. >> Are you guys going to other stores and doing this? >> No, sir. >> So, how do you guys have so many Pokémon cards? >> No, I I've been collecting for years. >> That's what I'm saying. But these are all new cards, man. They're all like fresh out of the pack. >> Yeah, the ones that I have. >> The ones that are in there? Yeah. >> Yeah. Those those are I've If you see the sleeves in there, they're all sleeved up, well taken care of, fresh out of my binder. We were taken. Officers reiterate that concern for the child must come before criminal activity. Both adults are informed of impending arrest. >> To the game store, Prodigy. >> Okay, cool. All right, we are beginning. All right, so Courtney, so I talked to him. The stuff that we found in the back seat here, is there any anything else that belongs to Target? >> Not that I'm aware of. No. >> What's a yes or no? Like you should be aware of. What? I mean, you just you decided to take those out of the >> Yeah. Yeah, but no. >> No. Okay. Um, is there anything in here that doesn't belong to you guys? >> No. >> Um, did you were you guys somewhere with some friends about fishing or something? >> Yes. >> Okay. Uh, did they leave anything in the car? >> They might have. Yeah. >> Okay. Uh, who was driving when you guys got here? >> Um, I was driving when we got here. >> There's a lunch box on the driver's side floorboard. Is that yours? >> No, he just moved that over there when we got to the car. >> Okay. Have you ever seen that lunch box before? >> It's his lunch box. >> Okay. It's his lunch box, right? >> Yeah. He takes it to work. >> Okay. >> But I don't I don't mess with the lunch box cuz he usually keeps it in the work drawer. >> Okay. >> Do you guys have any kind of prescriptions or anything like that? >> Any what? >> Prescriptions. Like pill prescriptions? >> No, I don't. No, he don't. Not that I'm aware of. >> All right. So, if there's pills in that lunch box, whose pills would those be? >> Uh, my guess would be his because I don't touch the lunch box. He us, like I said, he usually keeps it in the work truck and he brought it with when we went um when we went fishing. >> Okay. They're not taking that to my baby out, right? >> No, we were going to leave the baby in the car and then hopefully your mom can meet the tow truck driver. What kind of question is that? >> Because you're asking. Why would you ask that question? >> Because my baby was still in the car and >> obviously we're still searching the car. Just just sit there and listen to what's going on. Okay? >> Just sit there. You don't need to keep asking questions. All right? >> If you were so worried about your baby, you wouldn't be doing this with your child. That's what the bottom line is. >> The child is safely transferred to a family member while deputies prepare transport and towing procedures. >> Hey, this was a mistake. Did I get the baby? >> Yeah. Yeah. So, did um did Judy call you? >> Yeah. I'm I'm Judy's husband. Okay, perfect. All right. So, yeah. >> Can I get him so he stops crying? >> Yeah. Yeah, that's what I was looking for. >> Appreciate it. >> Absolutely. >> What are you doing? Huh? What's going on? You see all the lights? >> Hi, guys. Thanks. Thanks for taking care of >> You got a car seat. >> They are being arrested. Uh, you know, and >> um, who's being arrested? >> Both of them. >> Both of them? >> Yeah, both of them. They're both They put their son at risk. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Yeah. Again, I can't go into the full nature of it, but either way, they're they're both being transported to jail tonight, and their car is being towed. >> Okay. >> All right. We're going to go to the to >> you have anything sharp on you stick or put me? >> No, sir. I don't have anything. >> Okay. You're just going to put your hands behind your back. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> I don't have bracelets on him. There's one on this one. >> Okay. I'm just going to take them off right now. >> Thank you. You want me to leave him in your car? >> Um, no, that's okay. >> You want to take him with you? >> Yeah. I don't think I'll be able to get my car out. I don't know if I'm able to afford to. He's the only one working. >> What about the ring? You want the ring to go with it? >> Oh, it's my engagement ring. Yes, please. Oh, no. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. All right, take a seat. Hey, remember what I told you, okay? Think about your child when you get up. >> Okay. >> A little bit better. All right. >> Okay. I'm so sorry. I really am. I'm so sorry. >> You want me to roll the window down for you? >> Yeah. Because I feel like I was a panic attack. >> All right. Just breathe. Just breathe. You'll be okay. >> Uh so I was here um in reference to a shoplifting that almost occurred. Uh while we're here, we observed uh this gentleman here um you know, selecting multiple packs of uh Pokemon cards, Pokemon trading cards. >> Correct. >> Okay. Um and then can you just kind of give me a rundown of what we were observing? >> Uh so while we were going through video review of the other incident, a individual coming into the store with selections of Pokemon cards in the toy aisle and then making their way over to the uh baby infant care aisle where there was another subject. Um, and both subjects then had merchandise concealed under their cart. Um, right after making their way and meeting together with the other subject, white female, um, they both proceeded to exit out of the, uh, east side exit. >> Okay. And, uh, what what else did they conceal? >> Uh, they concealed larger packs of Pokemon cards. Um, the cards were then concealed uh, under the baby stroller on top of the baby stroller with the um, what looks like a blanket and then moved around. Yeah. And moved around on >> Okay. And then who who made those selections? >> Uh that was the female subject. >> So female. Okay. So and she had walked in prior to the male actually walking in. >> Correct. >> Okay. And then he came in after and then walked out with her >> and at that and at that point is when I made contact with them, you know, in order to identify them at that point. >> Both adults were arrested for shoplifting and child endangerment. The toddler was released to a family member at the scene. Store surveillance footage supported prosecution and the case proceeded through standard criminal channels. Remember, financial stress does not justify illegal actions, especially when a child's safety is involved. Leaving a child unattended during criminal activity dramatically increases legal consequences. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. All that risk for Pokémon cards unreal. The baby deserved better choices from both parents. This went from petty theft to something much more serious. The tension is already high, or so it seems. What the body cam captures next saves a life pause and comment what you do here. The next incident is when entitled couple pulls gun in restaurant while their kids sit in the car. On January 02, 2024, officers respond to a report involving a vehicle and begin identifying a residence connected to the call. Initial observations suggest the situation may require closer attention. >> Hold your crutches >> cuz I thought too is going to start. >> It's 10:32. Can I get a unit to the front of the residence? >> They're looking out at this back window. They know I'm here. Just keep an eye on it. Make sure no one leaves. >> Where are you utilizing the dog? >> Negative. That's I'm walking around to the front. The dog's on a leash, THOUGH. >> HALEY, can you come here and talk to me? What? >> Just come here and grab your dog. >> What the is going on? >> You knock it off, baby. >> Is Ariel inside right now? What's going on with her? >> I >> Does she have a gun? She just p I think she just pointed a gun at someone. That's why I'm asking you. >> I She left. She has all of her stuff. I'm sure you can. >> I saw her looking out the back window from at me. >> Yeah, she she knows you guys are here. She's coming out to talk to you. Come this way. >> She did not leave. >> The other officer who was making sure no one leaves sees the suspect, Ariel, exit out the back of the residence. How you doing? >> Hey, good. How you doing? >> I'll be out there with another female in the back. >> I'm smoking weed. >> You're good. It's Illinois. As long as you're at your house. >> So, no weapons or nothing like that on you? >> No. >> So, that's the reason we're out here. Okay. So, we got a call regarding a similar ve uh similar vehicle. Uh that dog, is it on a leash? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> My car barely even worked. >> Yeah, I got you. >> Tires flat. >> Tires flat. No, he's just >> Oh, it's a family. >> Police make contact with adults on scene asking routine questions to establish who is present and what has occurred. >> He's okay. >> Yeah, similar vehicle and we're actually in the same area. I watch your cast. He's He's He might trip you if he pulls off. >> No, I ain't really doing too much driving. You see my Yep. Keep >> searching. Okay. Where's it at? So, were you just driving this car? >> No. >> Cuz I'm going to check video and we have someone saying it's you. >> I just want you to be real with me. >> If you're honest with me, I can try to help you out. >> Hold on. I'm sorry. I will take him inside. >> He's so [ __ ] excited about other people here. I'm so sorry. You guys, >> just be real with me. >> Can you come on, Mr. You're not being nice. You hold my crutches. >> Where is it at? Is it on you? >> I don't have guns at all. >> Okay. What's on you? Why do you need me to hold your crutches? cuz I thought you was going to search. >> Is this your car? >> Yeah, but it don't even work. >> Okay. Well, I didn't see this car here a couple days ago. >> So, how did it get here? When did you get here? >> Haley. >> Yeah. >> Hey, just talk to me right now. Okay. >> I got proof of >> I got proof. >> Is there anything illegal on you? >> My weed. >> I don't care about weed. That's what I'm saying. So, like if you ain't got no warrant, like I'm chilling. >> Okay. Well, right now you're being detained. Okay. >> Can I sit down? My foot is shattered. >> Can I Can you sit in this chair right here? >> I'm just going to pat you down and make sure you don't have any weapons on you. Okay. >> Explanations begin to differ as officers verify timelines and clarify movements before their arrival. >> Two inhalers. >> You can show them on the camera. >> Can you sit right back here? >> Can you stay with her? My concern letting you go inside is I don't know if that gun is inside and I can't just let you sit on a couch and maybe have access to a gun. So, he's been given consent to search this area. So, that's what he's doing to make sure there's not a gun there cuz there's a child in the house. >> I don't know yet. It depends. If I find the gun, probably. So, then your car >> pulls in, right? They say it's a silver Camry that the female is in matching your description. >> At the license plate. >> Okay, I'm going to keep going. It pulls in. She's got it on her camera. Pulling in right at the time that these guys are calling 911. They distinctly say that the female had a blue do-agg on. How come the people inside the house say you've been wearing a blue do-agg all day? >> Can I show you my do-rag right now, please? >> Where's that? >> Walk. Can you walk with me? >> Okay. And I really don't feel that my son grandson, even my granddaughter should go with her. >> So, I may have to put myself in a position where I get a bigger place and take my grandkids. I don't want to see them go into, you know, children's services or anything like that. >> Sure. I was just and you know every time she I get a call from her I I just panic like >> officers begin separating individuals to understand what led to the incident and assess the overall household situation. >> What's wrong now? You know >> so who called you tonight? >> She called my granddaughter or your daughter. >> My daughter come you know I'm come and get I'm going to call myself and >> Okay. So does she have mental health issues? >> Yeah. >> What's what she won't go get herself diagnosed? She's been doing this for the last I don't know 5 10 years. Okay. >> Um, her Facebook page has everything with Chucky on it and everything. >> Um, >> she's mom's talking for us right now based off these injuries. Not to the forehead. >> Okay. She in the forehead. Correct. >> That's what he told me. And what did you get? Why did she hit you? because she said that I was that I was to like give me a reason to cry for >> What were you crying for? >> Like she was yelling at me and just >> she just goes off. >> Okay. >> For any reason. >> Then she just got her bomb and just started hitting me in my leg in the back of my head. >> Okay. >> You go. Then my granddaughter had to jump. This is not the first thing. She had to jump in between to keep her from hitting him. She had to jump in the middle of it. >> All right. >> Mhm. >> Well, let's corroborate that with the with the granddaughter and we'll go from there. >> The child explains feeling overwhelmed after a household argument escalated while officers check for signs of distress. >> Uh, are you do you feel like does it hurt to touch? >> Yeah. >> All right. My head hurts. >> All right. Is it just the one spot and then you said the back of your head? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Show me where. Like she hit me like right here in my leg. >> Can I look? >> Yeah. >> Like like right there? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Anywhere else? >> Just in my legs. Like right here. >> Okay. Can you pull your pant legs up and let me see if I can see a mark? >> Oh, yeah. Like about like right here. >> He's still scared. >> You don't have to be scared. >> Um, do you have a headache? >> All right. How did she hit you in the forehead? What' she hit you with? >> Um, I might have I really don't know. I might have to fell down and hit the couch. >> Do you feel like you passed out like you fell asleep and woke up? >> Um, make sure you tell them the truth cuz I know him. He exaggerates a lot too. I'm not trying to just let you know that he has that. >> 11. Okay. >> But make sure you tell them the truth. >> 21. working. >> Yeah. He he at school he reported her like about a year ago at school to teach her. >> Okay. >> And she was getting counseling. >> Uh-huh. >> Yeah. >> So what he reported to the school turned out to be legitimate. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yeah. Mhm. >> All right. >> Yeah. Teacher. >> So let me just clarify. Okay. You were upset tonight and which made you cry and that upset mom and she hit you in the forehead and said, "I'm going to give you something to cry about." and then took her belt off or grabbed a belt and started hitting you in the back and in the legs. >> How many times did she hit you? >> Like three times in my life. >> Family members provide background on ongoing tension, prior concerns, and previous involvement with school or counseling services. >> Leg and then like two times in my back. >> Okay. And what were you upset about originally? Um me and my sister was just kind of upset about um we were like we were going on and off about um doing the dishes and tomorrow is Monday and I got to go to school. >> Okay. Did you hit your sister at all? >> No. >> Okay. >> They they mostly get along their best. >> Okay. >> So he blames his father's not in his life. That's her fault. and she she blames that he has his problem cuz his father's not in his life. He does get a little upset and complains a lot and we try to we had him in football and try to get, you know, try to keep him active. I have him every weekend trying to get, you know, make sure they're not sitting here in the house by themselves. And while she works over in Indianapolis, that's where >> she do in Indianapolis. >> She's um uh cosmetology. Okay. She that's where >> I'm just going to take your pupil's buddy. Okay. All right. Very good. Do you feel sick to your stomach at all? >> Not really. My stomach is sort of hurting. >> Like upset. Has it been upset? >> Yeah. Um when like she was trying to get to me where my sister had to stop. Like my heart felt like like a sharp pain. My heart just it just didn't feel good. So good. My grandma came up. >> Not yet. Kiki, are you okay? >> Okay. Yeah. She usually don't bother her, you know. And she lost her dad a year ago. He killed himself. >> So, same mom, different dads. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Same story. >> Uh, yeah. Go ahead. A little slightly different. Will you come over here and talk to me? >> Officers interview the adult involved who describes the situation as discipline that became emotionally charged. All right. You already talked to my deputies. Okay. I'm their supervisor. I'm just trying to get some clarity in tonight. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> In your own words, tell me what happened. >> So, I had just finished cooking dinner. Took everybody's plate to the kitchen. Kitchen was a mess. I'm like, "Okay." He's been asleep all day. He hasn't done anything. It's a Sunday. And I asked him, "Hey, you could either get ready for bed to school tomorrow or you can help me clean the kitchen." And then he goes, "Well, you don't help me with anything." Well, whenever I asked for help and you just started going back and forth, mom came in, he he was told to just go do the dishes. And when he was told to go do the dishes, he had attitude. And he starts pulling everything out real hard, slamming stuff, not throwing doing anything correctly, basically out of spite cuz he has attitude. And my mom gets him and gets real angry. And she tells him to go do wall sets. And when he doesn't do wallsits correctly, has attitude and is just crying because he has to do walls sits. She gets upset. She grabs the belt and uses disciplinary action, hits his leg, hits his his back cuz he supposed to be doing walls. His back is supposed to be against the wall. And he's crying. He's crying hysterically. And my mom is just losing it. So I'm there. I'm trying to calm her down. And I'm like, "Mom, mom, just calm down." And then she gets to a point where she can't do it anymore. And I hold her back. I'm like, "Mom, go for a drive. Like, go somewhere so you can calm down so nothing happens." And while she's out, she calls grandma and like, "Go pick up Aiden. I can't be there with him or I can't be there. Me and him can't be in the same place. He's driving me insane or whatever." That's what I assume cuz that's what she's telling me. And um so she's off for a drive. Um grandma comes gets him and then she we me and mama me and my mom are on the phone going back and forth. I'm trying to calm her down um so she can get home safely cuz I know she's upset. And she eventually comes home. I'm talking to her. I'm comforting her. And that's when the one of the policemen knocked on our door. And that's why I assume she called the police cuz what she told her. I didn't know what she told him. But that's why. >> So he was told to go through walls is corporal punishment. >> Yes. >> Which is normal. >> Police clarify the legal difference between acceptable discipline and actions that cross into criminal conduct. >> And because he wasn't doing that correctly, >> she started hitting him with a belt. >> Yeah. >> How many times? Um I think twice on the leg and then twice like right here. >> Did you witness it? >> Yes. >> Okay. Did he fall over at any point? >> He didn't fall over, but he said he couldn't do walls cuz she kept demanding him to do walls. And he said, "I can't. My leg, my left." And that's when I kind of stepped in like, "Mom, you he can't. He can't." And then that's that's when I told her to go for a drive cuz she was starting to get really upset cuz he wasn't listening to >> her aggression was growing cuz he's got a knot on his forehead >> right there. >> I didn't I >> That's why I'm answering. >> Yeah. Uh I didn't see her put his hands on me. I I was cleaning the kitchen while it was happening cuz >> So you So you didn't see >> I seen her beat him, but I didn't see how he got them up. >> You got >> What is normal out outside of wall sits? What's normal corporal punishment for him? wall sets, situps, and then usually he gets looked not like I've seen tonight, but like on his behind >> and on the bottom of like the back of his thighs usually and sometimes it gets on his up here cuz he's trying to block and she's still >> hitting him. That's usually what it is. And then um that's usually it. You >> always been with mom Do you think tonight was excessive? Be honest with me. I mean, I I think all of us here agree that your mom would went too far, right? Has she ever been in trouble before? Never at all. >> So, so grandma tells me that at one point your brother had reported her to the school about him being abused or whatever. And >> supervisors review statements and evidence determining the situation exceeded allowable limits. It it went it went all the way through and I guess mom had to seek some counseling. >> Is she still in counseling? >> No. >> Has she ever put her hands on you or is it just him? >> Um I got whooped when I was younger. It was like that. >> Like >> not like that but >> when you got whooped. Where did you get whooped at? >> Same place. >> On the back side or in the legs? >> Mhm. tonight. Would she was nearly Was she whooping him and telling him to complete more or was it four strokes one after another? >> It wasn't one after another. It was like two on the legs and then he she told him to stand up and then when he didn't, she hit his back >> and then she was like, "Get up. Get up. Get up." And then she hit his back again. And then you stepped it because you knew it was too much. You see where I'm going with this? Are >> you going to take it? >> Yeah. Mom's going to go. Will you go get mom for for DV? Oh my god. >> Hey, Grandma. Come over here for a minute. >> It's going to be okay. >> GET AWAY FROM ME. Get away from me. >> So, here's the problem we're running into. There's a difference between corporal punishment and just abuse. >> Uhhuh. >> And the way she explained it, it's abuse. >> He was already going through corporal punishment >> and he wasn't doing it correctly. So, she pulled a belt out and then proceeded to hit him more when he wouldn't just simply stand up. >> She lost her dad, killed himself a year ago. >> And and I'm sorry for that. >> Yeah. No, she feels like she's going to lose her mom, but she'll be okay. But even she at 18 years old just sat here and told me that she believes tonight was too much. >> Okay. >> Thus, officers explained next steps to the family, including custody decisions and temporary care arrangements. Where I'm going with this. >> Okay. >> You know what I mean? >> Yeah. >> She'll have her day in court. >> Yeah. >> But tonight, she's going to your your daughter is going to come and she's going to go to jail. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Um once we >> I had to >> once we kind of get things calmed down. Yeah. I'm just going to verify that >> someone talk to a counselor, medication, give her something. >> So once we get things calmed down, I'm just going to verify with mom that grandson can go with you. >> Okay. Cuz mom's got custody. So it's up to her on where he goes. >> Okay. >> All right. >> She'll probably say, "Yeah." >> As far as granddaughter's concerned, I think she's upset with you because you called and I understand that. >> Like you said, it went too far tonight. I had to do something if I hadn't called and she did it, you know. >> Sure. >> I mean, this is a lesson for her, you know. >> So, >> I got to go to work in the morning. Like, I don't do anything to anybody. Are you serious right now? I got to go to work in the morning. >> So, we'll talk to her in just a minute. Let's They're going to put her in the back of a car and then I'll have you guys have a seat in your car. >> Okay. >> Um I'm going to have one of my evidence technicians come out and take some pictures of him. Just his the knot to his head and the spot on his back. >> And then um maybe we can walk inside for a minute so I can look at his legs. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Now she's mad at me. >> It It's part of the process. Okay. So, I'm sorry this is happening, but it's it's too much. >> It is. >> Taking taking a belt to a child is one thing. Like, like I said, corporal punishment's allowed. >> Yeah. >> It it really is. But there but there's a a fine line between corporal punishment and even involving a belt. >> Mhm. >> And then there's you have a knot to his head. You got marks on his back. self admittedly. >> The adult is taken into custody while officers reassure the children and coordinate followup with appropriate services. >> When she was whooped, she was whooped on her backside and maybe on her legs. He was hit up near his head on his back and and nobody can really explain why he has a knot on his forehead. >> Yeah, >> that's why I wanted to speak to her separately [snorts] because I needed some further explanation on tonight's event. >> Okay. No, she's okay. She just had to be upset with me. She'll be okay though. It's part of the process. >> So, um, if you guys want to have a seat in your Mazda for for a little bit, >> come on. >> Come on, dude. We'll be with you in a little bit. Okay. >> What is my daughter doing? >> Why? Because you're going to be >> What did I do? I love my hair and also my hand as well. >> Oh my god. Do you want me to do anything for you? >> Yeah. Can I get my I mean, >> do you want do you have shoes in there that we can grab? >> Can we get my clothes on that? We'll have your >> Yeah, we'll have daughter or somebody going for cuz the dogs. >> I didn't do anything to anybody. What can I do? >> Listen to you. Do you want to talk? >> What can I do? >> Okay, I'll get I'll get downstairs. >> What did I What did you tell me? Why are you doing anything? You're not doing >> I'll let you talk to your mom in just a second. We're going to we're going to go ahead and just have her sit in the car for a minute and then you're going to be able to talk to >> Okay. You step off to the side here. >> I got you. We'll just walk down here. Like I said, I'll let you talk to Let you talk to before before anything goes further. Okay. >> Would you would you be able to go inside and just get your mom a pair of like sandals or shoes or something? Are you able to do that? >> I know there's a small dog up there. >> Four. Four dogs. >> How old are you? >> Would you Are you willing to complete a a witness statement for us just on what occurred tonight? Yeah. >> Okay. >> I lost my dad. He committed suicide. >> I'm so sorry. >> I can't move. Is >> is your mom's going to go to to jail tonight for domestic violence? It's just based on on how she handled the situation with your brother. It was just a little too a little too far. >> I can't. I'm sorry. I can't. She's all I got. >> I She's It It's going to be for a night or so. Um do you know if she's ever been arrested before in the past? >> I don't know. Okay. Have you lived with mom? >> Yeah. >> Your whole life? Okay. Just take some deep breaths. I It happens. It It sucks. Just take some deep breaths. Okay. >> You want to get the shoes and stuff first, then have her do this. The incident concluded with the mother arrested on a domestic violence related charge, the child removed from the immediate environment, and authorities initiating follow-up actions involving family services and custody review when emotions spiral out of control. Children often suffer the consequences. Accountability exists to protect those who cannot protect themselves. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. Situations like this show why calm decision-making matters so much. Kids shouldn't have to carry the weight of adult frustration. Hard moments reveal who's really putting children first. [bell] >> Can you get him? Because I don't want him to take that. On March 16th, 2024, police respond to a noise related call and make contact with a couple arguing in the garage late at night. >> He left to to clean >> Well, Park Police, anybody here? >> You guys okay? >> Yes, I was arguing with my husband. >> Where's your husband at? >> He's right there. >> Oh, >> I came to the garage to call off. >> Okay. Well, obviously neighbors are listening, so that's probably why you >> They always listen. They always call the police. Like, I don't have privacy in my house cuz I have my kids in there and I don't want them to hear us arguing. So, obviously, I'm going to come to the garage, but obviously my neighbors don't let me have any privacy in my garage cuz when my son's here, they're they're always calling the cops. When he's here with his friends, they're always calling the cops. When we talking loudly, they're calling the cops. I have to call out. I'm sorry. I have to >> Go ahead. Call out, honey. I just care about your wellbeing. So, it's nothing physical, just verbal. >> Okay. All right. >> The woman explains the argument stems from ongoing family stress and insists the situation is verbal, not physical. >> Do you mind if I ask what you guys are arguing about? >> He had the problem with drugs. He left to to clean himself or whatever. >> He went to he went to detox or rehab. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> He came back, but I just went out and he went looking for that again. >> So, obviously I'm upset. I know I shouldn't be yelling at him. No, you have every you have every right to help your worst. But I don't think it's fair that after four months of sacrifice from our kids and myself again thinking about us. I guess I was screaming, telling him how frustrated I was, but I just closed the garage and I told him to leave so that I could cool down because I knew I was getting loud and I know my neighbors, [laughter] >> so that's why I was in here. >> But you guys are going to be okay. It's never been physical. >> No, I'm going to we're going to leave so we don't >> I just I'm trying to like calm down. >> Okay. And I don't want to be inside the house cuz my son is sleeping and my daughter I have four kids. >> Yeah. So you did the right thing by coming in here but then obviously >> people were >> officers attempt to deescalate provide resources and encourage everyone to calm down due to children being present in the home. >> No, but they're concerned too because you never know if it turns physical. That's what they're worried about probably. >> Yeah. time when he was out there and I was out here cuz he talked to me. >> I'm just going to give you a form. The form is I don't know if you've ever been involved in a verbal domestic. It's just a form for resources. You can call somebody. They're free. Um therapy if you're interested counseling. So I I just I just want to give you that form really quick. What's your last name? >> Why? >> Go ahead. Take a deep breath. Put your hands up and take a deep breath and relax. I can't answer anything. >> Yes, that's what it sounds like. >> Do you take Xanax? >> I don't take anything for you. You want the medics? >> No. >> You want me to step away and give you some time? >> I think it's going to be okay. >> Okay. I'm going to step away and get get you some time to breathe and then I'll be right back. Okay. She's having anxiety. >> Okay. >> Speak Spanish. >> Okay. >> Tension increases as conflicting accounts emerge, prompting officers to reassess the situation. So verbal. Oh, no. Okay. Officers determine there is sufficient cause to take enforcement action based on statements and visible indicators. You have DV. You got DV forms. Can I get two, please? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You smack him. >> They call me a >> Okay. >> Cuz he said, "Who are you?" with with the the guy in the back or the guy in the front. And he's like, he called me a smite them on his left side. Hi, buddy. All right. Well, with that said, unfortunately, you got to come with me. I know. I don't want to do this. [snorts] Go ahead. Stand up. Put your hands behind your back. You can put your phone in a second. Can I get my truckies or can you get him because I don't want him to take the truck. He doesn't have a license and he took it from me. >> I'll definitely do that. >> Do you have >> The woman is placed into custody while officers work to ensure the rest of the family remains safe and calm. >> Kids that are old enough to have the keys. >> My daughter is 20. >> 20. Okay. All right. Maybe we have one female in custody. Can you uh He doesn't want her getting arrested, so he's probably reacting her. Can we get a photo? Do you have Do you have the streak thing? Can we get a photo of his face left side? Uh, I got her. Okay. Can you tell me? >> Police coordinate with family members regarding keys, transportation, and household responsibilities. Let me come home. >> All right. You don't have anything on you, do you? I just got to put down wallet in there. >> And you want the keys? Can I give the keys to your daughter? >> My keys are in my room. >> Okay. >> Um I have some work backpack and they should be in there or in the first drawer in my dresser. >> Okay. First drawer in the dresser. Work backpack or what was the other one? >> The dresser and my backpack. >> Dresser or backpack. Got it. All right. Go ahead, take a seat. He's going to stay with you. I'm going to go talk to the daughter and let her know >> she's >> Or you know what? Yeah, you could take her then. Yeah, he's going to he's going to take you back. No problem. >> Okay. >> Kind of traffic on both sides. >> We'll go with this one. >> You okay? >> I just Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. You'll be okay. Everything will be all right. Okay. There you go. Going down. Okay. Okay. Okay. Wow. The woman was arrested on a domestic related charge in accordance with mandatory enforcement policies. Family members were temporarily responsible for the household while legal proceedings continued. Uncontrolled emotions can quickly turn private conflicts into public consequences. Stability at home starts with accountability and restraint. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. This could have ended very differently if emotions were managed earlier. Stress explains behavior, but it doesn't excuse it. Sometimes intervention is the reset a family needs. Remember living condition and supervision concerns can lead to immediate law enforcement and child welfare involvement. Arrests in these situations are based on documented observations and prior investigative findings. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. This situation escalated quickly once officers reviewed the conditions. A tough scene with a lot of agency coordination. Shows how investigations rely on repeated observations, not just one day. The tension is already high. Or so it seems. What the body cam captures next saves a life.
