Jody, come on. >> Wait, dude. Can I tell? >> You know, you're actually not paying for anything. >> No, I'll pay for everything. >> Today, let's explore a world of sheer stupidity as we examine the most ludicrous arrests of thieves, including one jaw-dropping case where a shoplifter does the unthinkable to avoid arrest. Get ready to unravel their ridiculous strategies and marvel at the unintended comedy of crime gone wrong. >> So, and he says that you're not lying, but he's not lying. And obviously, that doesn't work, right? >> Yeah, that doesn't make sense. >> On April 12th, 2024, Florida police responded to reports of an active burglary at a vacant rental property. Acting quickly, they set up an emergency channel to prioritize the case and dispatched multiple officers in an effort to catch the suspects in the act. >> Home is supposed to be vacant. So, we just need them ejected out of the home and have them trespass, arrested, whatever we need to do. >> What I'm going to have you do is I'm going move your truck down over to where that blue vehicle is. So, you're out of the way of everything we need to do. All right. Yes, sir. >> Yep. Victim's willing to press charges. You >> just wave me. I got you. All right. You ready? Come up >> out. Come out. >> It's now. Everybody out. >> Step out now. >> The alleged suspects looked genuinely surprised. They clearly hadn't expected to find half a dozen armed officers surrounding the property. As they stepped out of the house one by one, they wore expressions of [music] complete confusion. But was that bewilderment real or just a tactic to deflect suspicion? >> Keep walking. >> Step out. Step out. >> Can you Can you handcuff her? >> Can we not talk? >> I live here. >> Anybody else in there? Give me a sec. >> Step out. Hands in the air. Walk this way. >> Is anybody else in there? >> Step out. Step out. Come on. >> Everything will be explained later. >> Please be a silent. >> Don't move. Okay. >> Who's got an extra set of cuffs? >> Don't move. Put this hand on top of your head. Can we talk? >> We going to talk now. Just give me a minute. We going to talk now, please. >> Can you give me a minute? >> All right. My bad. My bad. All right. All right. >> Calm down. We're going to talk. >> All right. I'm just saying my girl is like, "Come on. >> What's going on, bro? >> All right. Take him." >> Yeah. >> For a moment, the scene resembled a clown car. People just kept filing out of the house when it seemed impossible there could be anyone else inside. And despite being surrounded by a swarm of armed officers, the suspects appeared surprisingly calm and composed. >> We can pay for it Monday. 4,800. >> All right. You just have a seat right here. >> I have a whole lease inside. The lease is right there on the paint. >> The lease is inside the house. >> Yes, we paid 4,800 Monday. A guy came today. He owed freaking saying there's a lease inside the house. >> I got it. Was that lease? >> Probably. Interesting. >> They signed it yesterday. >> Yeah. >> I have a lease. I paid money. Like I I did everything I was supposed to do. Correct. >> Okay. We're going to So, listen. We're going to figure it out. All right. We got the lease there. We're going to try to all the scrum we're going to clear. All right. So, just work with me, work with us, and you'll be fine. >> Sir, you can come on down. Could be one of those things. Somebody got scammed. >> The discovery of the rental contract added a surprising twist. What started as a squatting case now looked more like potential fraud. The big question was who actually got scammed. >> A fake uh police and these people unfortunately fell victim to it. >> That lady got a code at 4:00 in the morning to get into this home. >> 4 in the morning. >> At 4 in the morning. And they tried several times to open the door. >> We literally haven't even been here for like five hours. We literally just moved in. >> Lease and everything. We signed a lease and did everything. I ain't do I don't know. I ain't do nothing wrong. >> Shake lease. >> Mhm. >> Um they're leaving regardless of what happens and we're just going to find out who they are and what their involvement is. This yesterday. >> Yeah. >> And they just had people in here on the 9th. So this is a >> super quick turnaround. >> Yeah, man. I will read you something. Okay. >> Yeah. The right to remain silent. We understand. So we get a call. Somebody was breaking inside his house. We don't know nothing about that. And to that point, that's what we know. So that's why we there's a lot of us here cuz that's what we get. All right. >> This case was quickly turning more complicated than expected. The responding officers had arrived prepared to deal with squatters or burglars. But now they suddenly found themselves untangling what appeared to be a fraud case. You had a code. Do you have someone code? And we had given them 4,800. >> Somebody text you the code through text me cuz I don't have a service phone right now. >> Mhm. >> Uh so I sent him through text number and he gave me the code for it and we came in and he said we were going to go and these papers. Okay. I think you're the one that signs. >> Yeah. Okay. So, >> what would you say if we had >> evidence that shows that you accessed their system to gain a code at least four times? What would you [music] say about them? >> Yes, we did do that because we kept on getting locked out from the code. So, we asked them, [music] they said, "Go through the invitation to get the code. >> We can't get I think his name was like uh started with a B." It was like an Indian accent guy. We never met him. >> Okay. Do you have proof that you sent this guy money? >> It was through cash. [music] >> It was through cash. >> Something about the woman's story didn't add up. If she had paid the man in cash face to face, she should have been able to give a clearer description of him. And if the payment was made another way, there should at least have been some kind of paper trail. >> Uh, we found him on Facebook, I'm pretty sure. And he gave us the mail, like the mail address, and we sent it to him. >> So, you mailed a stranger cash? >> Yeah. You've never had And then you couldn't get access to a home. >> That's done by [music] company. >> How did the What happened to the original door handle and all that stuff? Where' that go? >> I don't know. >> When did you start moving in? >> I started moving in about two days ago. >> How much? Three. >> Two. >> Two. >> Yes. >> So lease was signed yesterday. How'd you move in 2 days ago? >> Don't you think that's suspicious? >> Says right there. >> Yeah. 411. Today's the 12th and you moved in the day before you started to sign your lease. >> That seems suspicious to me. >> Just go ahead and start moving and we'll sign the lease [music] later. I was like, "Okay, sounds good." >> My piece of cone. So, he's going to pull up here. >> You order a pizza? >> Yeah. Pizza. >> Oh, you just pull up. >> How many you order? How many pies? I >> order a dinner box. >> A dinner box. Like, how many are one? Two. >> That's enough for That's enough for us. >> It seemed like nothing raised suspicion for this girl. You could rob a bank right in front of her and she still wouldn't bat an eye. Apparently, her roommates were just as unfazed since they even went ahead and ordered pizza >> in person. >> How? >> Cash. >> That's very strange. >> You know why that You know why that's strange? He has a problem with lying. >> You got three different people. >> So, your girlfriend said that she mailed the money to the guy and has never met him. >> Why is her story completely different from yours? It's >> literally your lie. came in person. Oh, >> did you? >> We met him today. Came along. We moved in today. We were here only for 5 hours before y'all came. >> So, how did you find this house? >> I just told you. Facebook Marketplace. Zillow. >> Zillow. >> Zillow. Facebook Marketplace. >> Okay. You know those are two different companies, right? >> That's where marketplace. It had it on marketplace. The link sent to Zillow. >> So, what this guy look like? >> Huh? >> What the guy look like? How do you look over there? You look younger though. >> Not as guy in the green shirt. >> The guy in the green shirt. >> He look Spanish. Same color, same complexion, just like him, but a little skinnier, younger. >> Okay. So, you're going to stick by your story that a guy came and unlocked >> today. >> He came today >> and unlocked the door. >> Yes. When the cops first arrived, it was at least somewhat believable that these [music] people might just be victims. But after questioning them, officers uncovered several inconsistencies in their stories. >> That's all I'm going to say. All right. It's not adding up. >> The lease. Are you kidding me? I can go online right now and print that out and give you a lease right now. >> They do that. >> I don't need to do that. I'm just saying that. That means nothing to me. >> Exact. That feels like I don't know. >> Where' the cash come from? >> I don't know. Us. Who's us? >> Me and my girlfriend. >> Okay. Where did it come from? >> From wine. >> You had it the whole time. >> Working wine >> again. She told us that she got it from her parents. So, >> any more lies? >> She's a li. >> She's a 20-year-old woman. >> Or do you want to like >> And she's scared. >> There's no reason to lie to us. >> She's scared of every one of y'all. >> Oh, that's it. >> Pointing guns at >> The problem with this guy's story was that his girlfriend didn't seem nervous in the slightest. In fact, her ability to tell blatant lies to armed police officers without even a flicker of anxiety bordered on sociopathic. >> Maybe your last opportunity to come come clean. Your boyfriend completely different. Not one thing that you said that you told us matches. Not one thing. Not lying to you at all. He came up with a completely different story on how you guys came to be in this house. So, and he says that you're not lying, but he's not lying. And obviously that doesn't work, right? >> Yeah, that doesn't make sense. >> So, how did you pay? >> So, he said we don't have to pay until the 16th because I don't get paid to the 16th. >> So, you haven't paid any? >> No, not yet. Phone number [music] >> and then he texted me through the phone number. >> It's suspicious to me because that doesn't work like that. You can't just put homes in Zillow and then put like fake numbers like it it gets put in by the company or the real. >> It was lucky for the cops and very unlucky for the suspects that one of the officers had experience in real estate. That background [music] made it much easier for him to spot the holes in the suspect's stories. >> Okay? Do you understand? I don't believe anything you're saying. You've already lied once. Now you're lying again. Okay? And you're not even out any money on. So nobody just lets people stay without paying, especially renting. That's like guaranteed you pay first months, last month's round. [music] So I don't believe a word you're sent. I think that you try to get in your folder and I don't think it's your first rodeo and it is what it is. Actions have consequences. So let's play. Do you have anything on you that's going to poke us or stick us? >> I just have a bait in my pocket. Okay, when we get over here, we'll uh >> Both the man and the woman were charged with scheme to defraud and burglary of an unoccupied dwelling. The man also faced arrest for a probation violation stemming from a previous burglary charge. And just for the record, he never got to eat that pizza he ordered. Lying to the police might buy you a few minutes, but the truth and the charges will catch up fast. And if you're in the middle of a crime, maybe skip ordering pizza. >> Hi. Right. Hawaii. >> You know, >> on March 12th, 2023 in Florida, officers responded to Marshalss regarding a shoplifting in process. Loss Prevention advised that a known shoplifting suspect had entered the store and exited with a purse full of merchandise. The suspect offloaded all the stolen items into a Mercedes, then re-entered the store to steal more items. >> All right, back over there. You got your stand. >> Lead it. I'll follow you. Okay, >> just lead the way and I'll follow you. Just tell me for the tour and I'll take care of him. >> Okay. >> Hey, how you doing? >> Hi. Good. How are you? >> How's it going? >> Good. >> Turn around. >> [ __ ] right now. Okay. This is shoplifting. >> I don't have anything on me. Mom says that just in your car. Everybody went to the car. >> You are on 52 when it cost. >> So for right now? >> Yeah. >> You're under arrest for shoplifting. >> Okay. >> Okay. Um is your purse here or is this? >> No, it's my purse. >> Okay. You haven't paid for anything else, huh? >> Not today. I know. >> She initially denies shoplifting, claiming she didn't steal anything today. Dot. Officers find unpaid items in her possession and in her car. She pleads not to be taken to jail and asks to call someone. >> Pay for this? >> No. >> That's my bag though. >> Yeah. That's why I'm taking it. >> Okay. And my >> I'll figure it out from there. >> Okay. >> I got your wallet in there. >> Okay. >> Let's go out to my car. >> To your car. Please don't take jail. >> Please don't take the jail. >> Go to jail. >> Chocolate where they let you go in court. >> No. >> Promise me to go straight to jail. >> Really? >> Yep. Station prom. >> [ __ ] >> Seriously? >> Yep. That's serious. Can I use my phone >> to call someone? >> Oh, >> okay. >> Oh, this one up here. >> Hi. Hello. >> Just turn around. I'm right here. >> Hi. >> All right. How are you? >> Uh, you know, stupid. >> Okay. Let me let me bring something to the record. >> Are you a lawyer? You are entitled the question. >> She post stole stuff in the car. She was sticking more stuff in her purse. She already taken the stickers and labels off and everything. >> Understand that? >> All right. You want to tell me what's going on here? >> I was stealing stuff. >> Okay. You have more stuff in front. You do. I just felt that you um kind of hiding inside. You going back for that. >> What? >> You going back to >> I had the Got it back. >> You got more stuff here. >> Yeah. >> This need help with property. >> All right. So, you have Can I Can I get the key to the bedroom? All right. >> So, what I'm going to do, I'm going to retrieve those items from the car. Okay. >> All right. Just stay right here. >> No, no, no. Put on the back seat. >> Yeah. Come come up here. >> And I searched the car already. There's nothing in my car. >> Officers searched the vehicle and recover more stolen merchandise. Some with tags still on them. I need the LP to >> you know what what exactly property in here >> it's in the U doors there's more space everything is on that side >> so do you want to grab a basket what I need you to do is just bring everything up for the officer so we can get a receipt >> yes sir I got you >> all right >> Yep. So the you heard what I said, right? >> We got the the tools already. So it's good having the tools. >> Loss prevention helps officers ring up all items to get a total value and receipt. Yes. >> Say marking. >> Yeah. >> Right here. >> Tags. >> Yeah. Everything's marked and tags. >> He found more stuff on the front. >> Police suspect some items may have come from other stores or jurisdictions. >> Anything else over there? >> It's new property, but it's not ours. Like it's tags. See on the floor there on the pass. >> Oh, look. >> Juicy couture. What is it? >> Yeah. I mean, this stuff could be from a another jurisdiction, too, cuz I don't know where >> And you saying you saying those aren't it? >> Push me around. >> Ask her where she took these from. Suspect tries to explain that some items were for return to Amazon or from Juicy Couture, but some still had anti- theft devices. She continues denying theft and says she came from Deerfield Beach last night. >> My phone that's literally the stuff in the front seat is returns going back to Amazon and stuff. >> How about this? >> That is too That's all going back to Amazon. >> What do you mean going back to us? It's got the It's got the >> No, that's from It says TJ Maxx on it though. Yes, >> TJ Maxx, >> but it has an anti- theft. >> But it's got that anti- theft thing. >> That's not the thing. You can't return it without that. It's not an anti- theft device. >> This is an anti- theft device. >> No, it's not. You can't return it without that thing. Look at it. Read what it says. You can't return it. >> Check my wallet. I have a bunch of receipts in there. I actually do buy stuff. >> Receipt and attached security device required for return or exchange. >> Yeah, it's a it's it's the one that they put at the >> store. When you buy it because it's considered high-end, you can I swear it you can call them right now. >> You can call them. I'm not >> It's okay. Listen. Okay. But I swear to God, I didn't taste that. Right. >> Just give us a second. We We out of So, look, >> call TJ Maxx. >> Forget about all of that, right? >> We're gonna move. >> Okay. >> Forget about all of that. Right. What I'm trying to get from you. Okay. So, >> you live in Dfield Beach, right? You came here to Pamish County. >> Yeah. >> Today. >> Yeah. >> On this vehicle. >> No, I came last night. >> Okay. Yeah. All right. >> Okay. Thanks. here to get the picture. >> Yeah, let's get this out of the way and then Yeah, of course. >> Yeah, for your little internal thing. Yeah, I have no problem with that. >> Might need to get LP back out here. >> Yeah, >> this might not be from today, but >> No, but she opened this one already. Have >> LP come back out here. stuff. This is Marshall. It's Marshall. That's what it looks like to me. >> This is an auto part. >> Good. >> How are you? >> Good. Good. Thanks for coming out. >> This is TJ Maxx. >> This TJ Maxx one right now. >> Is this TJ Maxx right here or what? This is Marshall, right? >> Marshall. This is TJ Maxx. She has officially trespassed from Marshall's TJ Maxx and HomeGoods for 3 years. Officers explain the legal consequences of returning to those stores. Dot. Before booking, she reveals she is pregnant and admits to using heroin. >> All right. Just for >> quoting, you know what happened in Delray Beach, right? On the 7th of last month when you fled from the police and you took off, you pushed out a car full of merchandise over $1,000 worth of merchandise. >> Yeah. >> Okay. You're in the same vehicle. >> Everything's documented. Charges are dropped for that as well. So his FYI, >> did they file him? >> I knew he was. >> All right. >> How do I fle from How do I flee from? >> Listen, that's the right piece. What I'm going to tell you that he hasn't to trespass for that long amount of time from their store. All right. So it's documented. You know, you come back here, you are subject to be arrested for trespassing after warning from them. And just remember what he said, right? I don't have the authority to do what he did, but he say for any other source, okay? Right. That's why he took that picture. So, make sure that you understand now the predicament that you in. >> All right, sir. >> What do you want me to do? >> I want you to put it here. >> She was charged with pettit theft shoplifting. The final of stolen merchandise was $45066. Repeated theft escalates consequences legally and personally. Deception and drug use only deepen the severity of one's situation. Honesty and accountability are crucial steps toward recovery and change. Everything is going to be messier. The next incident is when serial shoplifter gets a hard dose of reality. >> Retail. >> Why? And I didn't take nothing. I didn't leave out the door. >> On March 9th, 2025, officers were dispatched to Target following reports of an active shoplifting incident. Our story kicks off with mall security, stopping a woman who insists she's not getting arrested, just answering a few questions. ambulance for >> PD. But like I said, like you guys are in trouble. Like you guys might just get a slap on the wrist or a ticket, but you guys are not going to be arrested, right? Outside it was alerted to them. Other than that, they're just going to get your information and then that's it. And then you guys will be good to go. >> Security says she and her cousin were caught red-handed [music] stuffing clothes into a shopping bag they didn't pay for. She claims she was just looking for her cousin, the one with the money, and definitely wasn't planning [music] to steal. But other than that, like like I said, you guys going to be arrested. I can take care of. Uh, so they were caught basically shoving like a bunch of like clothing in a bag that they took from a desk and then they try to walk out. >> All right. >> Why are you saying that? >> No, we didn't walk out. >> So basically, one of the times I can't hear cuz you're both yelling. So go let me let me get her side of the story. So basically, I was looking for my cousin. My cousin walked out from me. >> And is this your cousin? >> Yes. My phone is there. She has the money up on her Apple Pay. So I'm looking for her around the store. I see her downstairs right there by the escalator. I'm telling her to come pay for the stuff. I'm walking down. They said, "Come here." I come here. I'm applying with you guys. I said, they say, "Yeah, you can't just walk past the thing. It's a policy where you just can't walk past the thing." I tell them, "I was looking for my cousin. My phone is dead. I'm trying to pay for my merchandise." They say, "Well, we have a policy where you can't walk past the thing." I said, "Well, I'm sorry. I didn't know that. I didn't leave out the door. I'm applying with you guys. You guys are telling me come back because I didn't, you know, I can't walk past. >> You're applying for a job?" >> No, I'm saying I'm applying like and playing and playing with you guys. So, I turn back around, >> do what they say. I >> according to her, she's no thief. Her phone dead. Her Apple Pay with her cousin. Store rules. She didn't know them. And that whole past the point of purchase thing, total misunderstanding. >> Can I pay for my stuff? Cuz I'm not trying to leave out the door. I was looking for my cousin. My phone is clearly dead. She has my money up on her Apple. So like all of that is just going >> This is my favorite Target. Do you see? I don't steal. I have on a $3,000 purse. I don't steal. This my favorite Target. Like that's what I'm trying to explain to them. He just sat up here and listen y'all came in. It was just a whole completely different story. >> I was just trying to make it a quick story. >> No, that's not literally just lift everything and just say what you wanted to say but on my end when I was walking I have to pay I lost my mailbox trying to walk out nothing but I have the app on my phone to pay for everything you get what I'm saying but I ended up walking off because I realized that my key wasn't on my thing I've been looking for it and I realized that it failed so I was down there looking for my key but I have to pay for the things because >> by the carts >> yeah downstairs >> okay >> yeah so her phone is there I have everything on my phone to pay for it I just asked them but She was looking for me. She couldn't call me. She couldn't do anything. I walked out. >> They acted like I walked towards the door. I didn't even walk towards the door. >> So, just so you I'm just going to explain to you how the law works and what So, anytime you walk past the last point of purchase, which is all upstairs, >> come downstairs, you technically have committed a theft, right? >> She never walked downstairs. >> She did. >> I walked downstairs. >> They turned me around basically saying, "You can't pass this because that's basically stealing." I said, "Oh, I'm sorry. I was just looking for my cousin so she could pay for my stuff." It was not like I wasn't implying or anything. Like I see if I was implying boosters, they run out of stores. Like I'm not no booster. I don't steal. I don't have no reason to steal. two people in the >> You're still actually okay. >> My aunt always told me like my aunt always raised us to have our own bed when we go shopping. You get what I'm saying? You know, that's that's how we shop. So, I don't know if they taking it as otherwise or whatever. >> I'm still trying to pay for my stuff. Oh, >> unfortunately for her, the store had eyes everywhere. Surveillance footage shows her and her cousin heading toward the exit, unpaid items in tow. Yikes. Despite her passionate protests, officers arrest her for retail theft. She keeps insisting it was all a mistake and that she didn't mean to walk out with anything. First name. >> Queen. >> Mhm. >> Is it your government name? >> No, it's Que. >> Queen. >> Mhm. >> I think they were set up first off. >> What's the problem? >> You're under arrest for retail theft. >> Why? And I didn't take nothing. I didn't leave out the door. >> Like I'm able to pay for my stuff. That's what I'm telling them. Like I never >> pass the last point purchase. Okay. >> Stand up. >> But sir, I didn't leave out the door. I was looking for my cousin. >> You went past the last point, >> but I didn't know that. I didn't like I didn't know that that was going to like you have to leave physically leave out the door. >> I didn't know. >> No, I'm like, it's no way that I can talk to the manager because I literally didn't know like I didn't know that I was going to get in trouble for looking for my cousin. I wasn't trying to steal. I literally was >> She asked to pass off her purse and phone to her cousin. Nope. Say the cops. Those go with her to booking. >> Together kind of right before you left. You know where >> we was together the whole time, but she walked off. >> I like I said, I walked off because I was looking for my >> because Okay. Well, we're not >> So, it's no possible way that I could pay for these things like >> because I didn't steal them. I wasn't trying to steal these things. by law and you committed a >> you did. >> So like what what is this process? Because I never been processed in a couple days. >> So I will be getting out today. >> Yeah. >> You're fine. You didn't take anything. >> I'm not fine. >> No, I didn't take anything. That's what I'm saying. I didn't take anything, sir. >> Do you have a car here? >> Yes. Okay, I'll give you the information that we can pick up. >> We'll be back up here. >> Could you give my purse? >> Purse is going to stay with you. >> Cuz it's your purse. >> She want to stay with you. >> So there's no way that she could just get my purse. >> Well, it's your property. So >> I know, but I want her to keep my property. I want her to keep my property and my phone. >> It's going to stay with you. >> I don't want to process my things. >> Once you get out, you literally get your first. >> I know, but I don't want to process my things. I want to give my things to my >> situation. [crying] What >> I said, do y'all just like cuz I understand that's a whole problem. >> With no criminal record and dreams of getting a lawyer, she claims it's all unfair, maybe even racially motivated. >> Listen, can you just check it, see if there's anything in there, and then just give it right back to me? That's it. like >> I was telling them >> I was able to take my mom first when she got talking about I knew where you was at. If I knew where you was at, then I would have kn my whole >> She points out she didn't run, didn't hide, and walked in full view of the guards. She says she feels targeted and misunderstood. >> Problem is that I don't got nothing on my background. I don't get in trouble and I'm getting a lawyer. I'm getting a lawyer for sure. >> Okay. And for you guys, >> um, for the story that y'all told me, cuz you know, you came in this case lawyer, the best lawyer, >> you said initially cuz you say everything was fine, this same, and third. All you need. >> Yeah, I got it. Thank you. Give my >> we have is your ID. >> Take it out and get this over with. Can I get um >> Yes, please get please cash in first. >> Yes, that's what I'm saying. I have money to buy. I wasn't about to steal nothing. >> The law says once you pass this register past the last >> I don't know what the law say, but I wasn't feeling nothing. They It's a billion people around me looking at me. Why would I see it? Like >> all I see is >> a million people up in here looking at me. I seen I seen every last security guard. I'm sorry. I seen every last security guard standing right here. Like I literally walk right past them in front of their face. All I see is they like, "Come here. Come here." And I'm not trying to apply. Like I see y'all in my face. I'm telling y'all. My cousin is right there. I'm trying to get her so she can pay for my stuff. She didn't know I was at the She didn't know I was about to walk to the register. None of that. She in a whole another different area from this is crazy. You just went to church. There's no type of stuff. Like this is crazy. I would never like never come back over to this argument in this area or nothing. Like I don't know if they racist or what. I don't know what's going on for real because y'all literally see me. I walk past y'all in y'all face. On June 2nd, 2023 in Florida, officers were dispatched to Target regarding a shoplifting in progress. Store security had been monitoring two females as they concealed items prior to checkout. We won't come back here. >> They're trespassing. >> That's definitely going to happen. And then he's going to see what's not paid for. And then it's >> just the stuff in the bag. >> It's just the stuff. >> It's our bag. >> It's our bag. >> Both of us. >> The suspects claim they just found the bag and continue to avoid taking full responsibility. One of them doesn't have an ID, which complicates the situation. >> Do you have an ID in there? Um, I think mine is in there. >> Where's your ID at? >> I don't have one. >> You don't have ID on her? Okay. >> She's here to pat on. You want to bring your car closer? >> This Sergeant D. She's going to patch you guys down. Do you guys have anything like a poker card or anything like that? Open your legs. >> You understand if I miss anything? >> I don't have anything. Forgot. Turn on. >> Oh, my bad. >> Do you have anything on you that I need to know about? >> Officers find the total value of the stolen items is around $126. Mostly toys. One suspect complains about prices at Target, trying to minimize the situation. >> What is there? >> What was it on my back? All the stuff you grab. >> It was only at 40. It was only >> Target's expensive. That's That's why it's $126. >> Come on. Go in the car. >> You can see it when you go to the car. >> Seriously, y'all are expensive. >> Yes. [laughter] Trust me. >> I walk in and I walk out with like $300. I'm like, I just need a piece of paper. >> The suspect argues with police about being photographed, saying it's illegal and refusing to step out of the car. She tries to prevent her picture from being taken, claiming her rights are being violated. >> All right. Grab the camera. Are you >> You're not taking a picture of me. Yes, you can. Load the you for what? Hey, bro. Don't grab me. You want to get another char? You're just going to make things worse for me. >> I don't want a picture taken. >> Take out the vehicle. I don't want a picture taken. >> Just take a >> I don't want a picture taken. My daughter needs usually something kind like kind of cute for whatever her friend like her teacher saying. I came here. I was like, >> she continues to be uncooperative as officers try to escort her out of the car. >> All right, step out. Why are you yelling? Like, I'm I'm telling you, it's tight as hell. So, how you want me to fix them? >> How am I going to push up and they're already tight? You guys tighten me up when I was standing right there. >> Get out of the car. >> I can't move. I need help. It's tight. Like, really tight. >> We're asking you to do it on your own. >> I need help. I'm telling you. >> Your body this way. >> I cannot move this part. >> That works. >> Come on. >> I asked you to do it first time. Come on out, >> [ __ ] You should have just did that. Swung the leg over the first time. I'm going to take the handcuffs off. I don't care. >> You're going to take the jacket off. >> That's fine. >> Okay. >> You take it off. You've been doing everything else. >> You're a nice woman. [laughter] Hello. >> The officers continue wrapping up the incident, preparing the video footage and paperwork inside the Target office. >> The rain could have come down on the worst time, huh? >> Yeah, >> I got the uh >> It must be almost 5:00. >> The other receipt right here. >> This is the receipt for >> uh It's added with the jacket on there now. >> So >> Oh, the jacket wasn't on here before. >> Yeah. So now it's 10 more. >> Oh, the jack is here, huh? Was it? >> Yeah. Oh. >> Both women were charged with petite theft. The substance found on the subject tested positive for marijuana. So she was also charged with possession. Trying to downplay theft as a joke won't save you from serious consequences. Cooperate with the police arguing only makes things worse.
