So right now the story that your daughter is telling and the injuries that she has are battery and the fact that she attacked her father she beat >> your other daughter witness >> she come in I'm holding the baby I tell him he's sleep she tried to snatch him away from me hitting on me it's >> holy crap did she hit you with the belt >> she know I'm a feeling she talking about you want to go back to jail >> and I'm like dude just give me my baby like this I've been drinking a little bit but I'm not drunk you fighting with my baby in your hand >> police responded to a call involving multiple children living in severe neglect. As officers tried to assess the situation, the adults immediately challenged their authority, refusing to cooperate and escalating tensions. >> Was laying on the bed and she came from >> the door. All I did was grab the nearest thing that was on. >> Officers were forced to step in and prioritize the safety of the kids above everything else. This is when police rescue kids from an insanely neglectful home after adults challenge officers. The first incident is that mother beats her daughter then thinks she can get away with it. >> Like open bleeding scat like claw marks on her neck. >> She gave me my baby. [music] >> On February 12th, 2024, police respond to a domestic call involving a mother and her teenage daughter. Officers observe visible injuries on the child. is laying on the bed and she came >> in the bathroom with my youngest daughter. >> Okay. >> This morning I went to a chiropractor appointment. I came home to rest because I have a crooked spine. I can barely walk. >> Okay. >> I have a problem child. Okay. I'm putting her in virtual school. She's been kicked out several schools. She's been diagnosed with bipolar. Anyways, she came into my room and wanted to take the remote and shut her the TV off cuz she was just in a bad mood calling me like outburst. Okay. She ran and she grabbed my remote. >> She grabbed my remote, ran in there, then threw it at me, then ran back. And as I was running back, she came into my room and stole my vape. >> Okay, >> she won't give it to me. So I said, "Fine. If you're She had food all in her bed. She had stuff. Uh she's she's been stealing my mother's cigarettes and taking the ashes and dumping them behind the dresser. >> Okay. >> I found that and I was I'm cleaning all her room out and she's not to have a room. Okay. I went to the bed to lay down. She comes after me, attacking me, wants to act like she's slapping me, this and that. >> So, she was just doing this. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, she takes the phone and comes up with the story of a lifetime in the bathroom. I have real problems. Real problems. >> Why don't you hang out out here for >> Why don't you hang out out here when I go talk to her so you guys aren't in the same room together? Okay, >> stay out here. Okay. >> She needs giving my baby. >> We'll come Yep. We'll come out. >> Slap me in my face earlier today. Punched me in my back yesterday. Why don't you hang over here right in the grass? That way I don't have to be on the hard concrete. >> She got kicked out of Booker. Then we took her to Broward County at her other grandma's. They kicked her out. The same problems. So we put her to charter school, the Imagine Academy. She lasted three days. She was threatening people with a gun at school. >> Lot. >> Yeah. So I'm here. >> Sure. It's very stressful. >> Yeah. Officers separate the parties while the mother continues explaining a long history of behavioral issues and school expulsions. >> Over here doing the virtual program and trying to get that together. So, she came in talking about when I'm going to register in school and started bossing me around. So, this filter doesn't stop. It's the most nasty stuff and just everything. I can't control her. She's bigger than me and I can't walk. I had back issues and I wanted to lay down on that bed because it was a hard surface for my spine to be straight. >> Y >> and she didn't like that. Bullying on top of me. Bullying. Bullying. >> Just listen. Just hang out here. Try to catch your breath a little bit. >> So they she's on medicine. They say that I'm on medicine, but she was telling people I'm crazy. I take cerakquil at night. >> Mhm. And I take ADHD medication cuz I'm ADHD and that's all I take in my life. >> I don't know what else I could do. I >> strain is in there. She's going to figure it out. Okay. So, just try to try to take a couple deep breaths >> and relax for a little bit. Okay. We're here now. So, >> did she get your information yet? >> Okay. Well, we can do that. That's >> No, I was trying to do everything I can to have a normal day. >> I know. I know. I'm so sorry. Police document scratches and claw-like marks on the daughter's neck and arms. The younger sibling reportedly witnessed the assault. >> What's your first name? >> Francis. >> I was, you know, she slapped in my face yesterday. She's following me. >> And if I do anything, that's why she's they take her at the bay side because she's when she started doing it, she was 12. like, oh, she's she's coming up with this idea against me because I don't want her to have that room anymore and she's not to have a room >> because there's there's cigarette I don't smoke cigarettes. >> My mom does. >> Okay. >> And there's cigarette ashes behind my dresser and there's food all in the bed and she's not to have a room anymore. >> Okay. >> And that's what this is about. >> This whole thing's going on. >> Yeah. And she stole my vape. >> Yeah. >> And she's 13. >> It's a lot going on. >> I'm going to If she hits me again, >> call Sarge really quick. >> Yeah. >> Hey, Sarge. Um, I just wanted to let you know that we're going to have a DV over here with children involved. So, we're going to go 10:15 on the mom. We have wounds on the daughter. She lost her mind and started throwing away the daughter's stuff. So, the daughter went to pick it up and the mom reached and grabbed it and scratched her. Officers state the child's injuries are consistent with battery, not self-defense or corporal punishment. >> Neck and then scratched her arm. Uh the little sister saw it all happen. And this is not the first time that this has happened. She's got like open bleeding scat, like claw marks on her neck. I don't think that's really corporal punishment. They live with the grandma. She's just not the legal guardian. So grandma was here during all this. She didn't see it, but she heard it. And there's a long train of history with the mom just disappearing for weeks and then coming home and beating the girls and then leaving. And >> she punched me in my head this weekend in my back. It's the reason why I had to go to the chiropractor. >> Why? Why didn't you call the police then? >> Cuz I don't want her to go to jail. >> Okay. >> Cuz she's 13. That's why. >> I got you. >> Okay. Do you mind stepping out of the car? I'm going to explain everything to you. Okay? Just turn around for me. >> Clear it up. No, no, no, no, no, no. >> I'm going to tell I'm going to explain everything to you. >> Yes. My daughter attacked me. She was on top of me on my bed. I tried to get her away. Look at my nails. Officer, I'm a nurse. This is going to ruin my career. I won't be able to take My daughter has bipolar. I'm not on medication. I'm on two medications. >> She attacked me. >> Okay. >> My mother is bipol You're not listening. All right. So, >> I don't beat up my children. She punched me in my head yesterday and my back. That's why I had to go to the chiropractor this morning. >> Okay. So, this is >> She abused me and attacked me. I >> The mother denies wrongdoing, repeatedly insists she was defending herself and expresses fear about her career being ruined. >> Are you going to listen to me? Are you going to listen? >> I don't know why I've been handcuffed. >> Listen. Listen. >> I'm not okay. >> Okay. So right now the story that your daughter is telling me and the injuries that she has >> are battery and the fact that your daughter she beat >> your other daughter witnessed it all. >> My other daughter did not witness that I was laying on the bed. >> Okay. >> She came up on top of me. >> Right now we have enough to take you to >> She came on top of me. I have bruises all over me from her. I was in the chiropractor this morning. But this so >> I shouldn't be in jail. I shouldn't be in jail. My daughter was beating me up. My mom is violating. You >> keep saying you're not. Yes, it's true. This is going to ruin my career. I did not do that. I was protecting myself. I was protect. She hit me. You know that. >> This is Do you have anything on you that's going to >> based on injuries, witness statements, and prior history? Officers determine probable cause for arrest. >> Not listening to me. >> I'm listening, but I already explained it. >> I was defending myself. She beats up on my mother every day. You're not. She's a liar. Please. You're not believing me. I know, but you're not believing me. Please. Please believe me. As a mom, I don't beat up my children. Get in the car, please. >> I don't. And I was laying. >> You got to take a step >> and my my my hip. >> You see my daughter? How can I attack her? I was laying on the bed and she came swinging at my face. I just got out of >> I know. I know. >> Just scoot in there. Okay. >> Look at my nails. >> Scoot in there. >> They're sharp. >> Scoot in there. >> She's got soft skin. I don't It was a defense messianism. She's been stealing. She got kicked out of school. This is not This is my baby. My daughter. I'm going to go if you don't mind just hanging out with her for a second. I'm going to go explain everything. Basically, the daughter's got scratches all over. >> The mother is taken into custody while officers explain the case direction to involved parties >> over her neck and little sister watched mom go at her and so yeah. >> Yeah, pretty clear. >> Yeah, I she's I've dealt with her before. >> She beats her kids all the time. Does she have a good part? >> The mother was charged with domestic battery against a minor after officers observed injuries consistent with assault. Witness statements from the younger sibling supported the victim's account. Police rejected the self-defense claim based on physical evidence and prior incident history. Remember claims of self-defense do not outweigh physical evidence and eyewitness testimony, especially in domestic cases involving children. Repeated abuse patterns and visible injuries strongly influence police decisions regardless of verbal explanations. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. She kept talking, but the injuries told the real story. The little sister witnessing it makes this heartbreaking. You can't gaslight your way past evidence. Think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. The next incident is when police rush in to save family from an extremely toxic baby mama. >> Like mad. He weren't like strangling me, but he was like just trying to hold me down. >> She tried to snatch him away from me, hitting on me. And so I ain't did. >> I'm in the bed. I >> On February 23rd, 2025, officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving a couple and a newborn. The father reports the mother returned home intoxicated and aggressive. >> He just fine with me. >> I'm here with the kid. She been gone since 9 till 10:00. I got off work. >> How you used to stay over here? We'll kind of separate a little bit. >> I've been here with the baby since 9:00 when I got off work. She been gone. She just came back. She went and picked the other son up on my mama. She come in. I'm holding the baby. I tell him he's sleep. She tried to snatch him away from me, hitting on me. And so I ain't did that. >> I'm in the bed. I got to go back to work at 6:00. >> All right. What's your name? >> Cadero. >> So, she just got home a few minutes ago. She came in. >> Yes. At 2:00. She been gone since 9 or 10:00. When I got off, I came back. She was in the shower. She got out the tub, put her clothes on, just walked out the door. >> And you're sitting here packing your car up. >> I was trying to get my keys off her keychain and put my stuff in my car. She started running around hitting on me and stuff. I said, "I'm just going to go." >> He's going to talk to her. >> I can show you the message. But she said what she baby just born a week ago. You go out tonight, be gone at 2:00 in the morning, then come home, start crying for me. >> Y'all married? >> No, I'm going to go. I said I'm going to go. >> Police document visible injuries on the father, including fresh welts, consistent with being struck by a belt. >> Yo, I got to be at work at 6:00. I've been at work all day. >> This happened tonight. The tears in the shirt. >> Yes. >> All right. >> She hit me in the back of back in the day with a belt and everything. >> Where she at? >> All right. I'm going to get some pictures if that's okay. Let me see your arm. Turn around. I know they probably asked you. We're going to You didn't touch her at all. >> No, she trying to say I choke her. I ain't did nothing. >> Is that all this right here? >> I can't see it. >> It looks like a belt. >> Oh, that's fresh. It's welt. I can feel it now. >> Holy. >> Did she hit you with the belt? >> Yeah. He says she That's the step. I thought that was like old scar, but that is >> She text me while I was at work early talking about I've been messing over her. Officers determine the mother is the predominant aggressor despite the father declining to press charges. >> Then I come home, she just leave a baby sitting on the bed and she take her other little boy with him. That's not mine. >> The small baby is y'alls together though. >> Yeah, we just had it on last Tuesday. Look at that. >> Well, one on his chest. >> Oh yeah, 100%. >> You don't have any other marks on you? >> That was at 9:24. You can keep your son. It's been the most time you spent with him. That's one time she left and she just got back. >> Yeah. So I have a question for you. You want to press charges? >> I don't really want to press charges, but >> Well, we're going to pick up charges then that she's prominent aggressor. >> The mother claims the father restrained her and says she struck him with a belt to get free while the baby was present. >> He is drunk. You came in, you was right here. You was on the phone with whoever, your home girls, I guess you say you went with and you fell into the wall. Then you fell into the other side of the wall. I'm like, man. >> Yeah. >> Do you want to press charges? >> He said no. >> It don't matter if you do or don't. >> That will pick them up. He doesn't. She's You know how bird back up. You >> who that is? >> No, >> that is sister. Oh, brother we arrested last night. >> You heard what she said when you walked up. You want to go back to jail cuz she know I'm a felon. >> Hold on. Well, I mean >> she know I'm a fella. She talking about you want to go back to jail. That's what you going to do. >> You're good, man. You got it. >> I hate to say it. She tore your butt up. Don't mean to say it like that. Do we have his information? >> I do have his name in bet. >> What started? How did he put his name on your bird? >> That's how it happened when I asked for my child. you need. >> He was like, "You drunk. You drunk." And I'm like, "I'm not drunk. All I hear is talking for the last five or six minutes." And all I said was, "Give me my baby." So, at this point, he turns over to the side and I'm like, I pull his shoulder. I'm like, "Just give me my baby." You know, like what's what's the problem? >> She admits to using the belt during the altercation and acknowledges she had been drinking earlier that night. >> He like, "Nah, he's sleep. You ain't getting him. You ain't been worried about him since you've been out. First of all, you've been out every weekend ever since I've been pregnant." When he crunch put his hands on you, how did it feel? Like it wouldn't matter. >> I don't know. When I I don't know. When I asked for my baby, he did like this. And my 2-year-old, he was on this side and he was crying. And I'm like, dude, just give me my baby. You know what I'm saying? Like, just give me my baby. >> Elbow you punch. >> Yeah, he did. He like did this. I don't know. It just kind of hurt right there. I don't know what's right there. All my nails are broken. I'm like, I'm noting drunk. I don't do I've been drinking. I've been drinking a little bit, but I'm not drunk enough that I can't handle my baby. So he did this and then he excused to get up and he like did this and grabbed my throat and like he wasn't choking but he like grabbed me and I'm like LET ME GO YOU GOT MY baby in your hand and you fighting with my baby in your hand and I'm like hurt give me my at this point like just leave give me what I gave you. Well I didn't give him but I let him you know have it. I got kids in the house >> after that. How did he get his injury? >> We was fighting like he was hustling in the hallway. So he trying to strain me and I'm like I grabbed the nearest belt. I did. I grabbed the belt that was nearest to me and I like swung at him like let me go >> with the metal part. >> With the belt with the belt. I don't know why I hit him. I know the >> leather part. You don't know if it was the leather or the metal? >> I don't know. I just hit him with the belt to get off me. I'm like at this point you need to go. >> So where were y'all wrestling right here? >> That's why this door open all this like right here. He had gave me my baby. I put my baby on the bed. I'm like her just get out. So he was in the washer getting his clothes or whatever and he grabbed my keys and he like get my key off that thing. And I'm like, "No, give me my keys because you GOT A KEY TO MY TRUCK, TOO." LIKE, all I did was ask you to leave because we got a baby and you sitting out here trying to fight. >> So, after all the fighting and stuff happened here, >> he went outside and put his stuff in the car. That's when y'all pulled up. >> And you called. >> Officers compare statements, injury patterns, and scene evidence finding the father's injuries align with his account. >> Mhm. I was on the phone. >> Part of the key part. >> I'm saying which part did you call for keys or the fight in general or >> just the fight in general? because he was holding my BABY AND HE WAS STOPPING ME AND THEN AT some point I got my baby to get back in the bed. He just started going at it and I had my and then at that point I had the baby no matter just can leave. >> So after the initial fight there was no more fighting. >> No it was no more fight. >> What injuries? I haven't seen him yet. What injuries is he going to have if any >> the belt? >> Where at arm back? >> I don't know because when he had me right here which opened the door all I did was grab the nearest thing that was on beside me and I just swung at him for me to get up. >> You were on the ground. I was I was on this thing right here when I swung it like I just swung on the belt so I can get off >> out. So the injuries he's going to have is from the belt and then occurred when you were on the ground >> right here on the toe. >> Oh, you were sitting on the toe. >> Yeah. >> Where was the belt at whenever you >> I mean I don't find it somewhere right here. >> Where's the belt at now? So this was somewhere over there while you were sitting on the tote and y >> I was laying on the tote because you had me pinned down. >> He had you pinned down on the toe. Was he like straddling you or sitting down? >> Yeah. like he was trying to hold me down. >> I'm saying both of those over you. >> Okay, come back over here. >> I don't know. Like he just was holding. He was like mad. He weren't like strangling me, but he was like just trying to hold me down. >> Was he knees off to the side or was his knees over you? >> Like his whole body was against you. >> Okay. So it's like he was laying on top of >> So if anything, grab the belt like you whooping baby or did you just >> No, no, it was like this. It was like this. And he was trying to run. Like when I grabbed trying to run the door and I just swung I'm sorry I'm not trying to I'm sorry >> but I just I don't know if that's I think it's fine. >> And then the phone he got is mine. >> Will you do something about all that? >> Literally the one time I want to go out. I just venting and drinking. So I mean and you know so venting just being with my best friend that I ain't been with in months. >> Did I come home like >> where you going out tonight? >> To Eddies and Eddies. >> Fast Eddies. >> Good little boy. I didn't even get your name. What's your name? >> Marishia Simmons. >> Marishia. >> We started way earlier. I can't find my phone. >> Y'all fight off physical? No. >> First time? >> No. First only because of what happened earlier. >> When was the first? >> When I was pregnant, actually. >> Miss Marley. Yes, sir. >> Both of them boys, correct? >> Mhm. >> Miss Sams. >> Police explain mandatory arrest laws in domestic violence cases and instruct the father to arrange care for the children. >> Are both of them his or just one? >> No, just the three week old. >> Okay. Just the 3 week old is his. >> Uhhuh. >> Listen up. She's going to jail. All right. >> You got marks all over you, dude. So there it really ain't up to either one of y'all. We have We're required by law to lock the predominant aggressor up, which is her. Now listen, you need to think about what you going to do with these kids. If you going to go to work, if you calling in sick to work or what? She's definitely going. I mean, I sit sitting there and listen to what she was telling that other officer in there and she trying to put it all on you. The evidence I'm seeing don't add up to that. You got marks all over you. Your head swelled up. So what you gonna do with the kid? Just get that figured out. She gonna go for domestic. So >> what you crying for, dude? >> Well, man, it ain't up to you. And we told her >> the mother is taken into custody while officers secure the scene and ensure the children remain with the father. >> It ain't your decision. That's the state of Louisiana's decision. So man, if y'all don't got to this point anyway, y'all don't need to be together. Miss Sam, can I get you stuff over here for me? You already said >> he was having a meeting like with my baby and my husband. >> Give you the opportunity to talk with the kids. >> So, you're going to jail or >> No, he's not going to jail. >> He can get the baby. >> He can take care of the kids. >> That's up to you. We don't know if you He said he's got to be at work in the morning. >> Work in the morning. >> Well, he going to have to make arrangements for that. >> I guess he can make arrangements for you >> or we'll give or try to give you the opportunity. He's not pressing charges. But look, when it's a domestic, we have to. Okay. So, understand that. >> Can I get out tonight? >> You want to go to BDC? >> Go to BDC. >> Hey, you know where her wallet is? >> What are you doing? You have a brush. He doesn't know. Is that bad coming with you? Come with him. Just lay it out for him when he come. He going to come up. >> You want to put this wallet in there? >> Yeah. But I girl, I don't feel real comfortable leaving your wallet full of money in out there in the mailbox cuz you don't never know some somebody like watching may come through here. >> I'd hate your money get stolen. >> Watch out. >> I know. >> All right. >> Stay right here. Nope. It's wet out there. Hold on. [crying] >> I don't know why that dude just don't come in here. Hey, you want to come on in here with these kids? She got his daddy is supposed to be coming to uh get this diaper bag [crying] and him. >> The mother was charged with domestic battery after officers observed fresh belt related injuries on the father. She was also charged with child endangerment due to the altercation occurring while the newborn was present. Police identified her as the predominant aggressor based on physical evidence and her own admissions. Remember, domestic violence laws require police to act based on evidence, not on whether a victim wants to press charges. Alcohol, emotional conflict, and the presence of a child greatly increase legal consequences in domestic disputes. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. The fact the baby was involved makes this terrifying. Her own words ended up sealing the arrest. Mandatory arrest laws exist for situations exactly like this. You think the officers were out of options here? Watch what happens next on the body cam [bell] and tell us if you would have done the same. The next incident is when entitled Mother Ram's ex's car with three kids inside. >> I don't need this car. You have evidence. >> Stop. I'm not I'm not here to play games with you. >> I understand that. But yeah, >> on July 15th, 2023, officers responded after reports that a woman intentionally rammed her ex-boyfriend's parked car while her children were inside her own vehicle board. >> What is this? >> That's my car. >> This is your car? >> Both of them are mine. >> Okay. What happened to it? >> I don't know. >> What's your name? >> Nigeria. >> Hey, so what's going on, man? >> All right. So, >> hey, come come talk to me over here. She picked me up. You left the car here, you know. Take let my car take a break. >> The evidence. >> It's on your car. You >> Hey, don't don't talk to her. He's going to talk to her right now. Just talk to me. >> So, what happened? So, she picked you up to do Uber Eats and then what? >> She drove me all the way right here to Orange and Lemon. >> Uhhuh. And >> where'd she pick you up from? >> She picked me up from right here. >> Okay. >> We got there, she started going off on me, start hitting on me. She gave me an okey to come hang with her. I was like, "Okay, fine. I'm going to come let you do some orders so you get gas in your car." >> So, she did. She came >> and she just started whailing on me. Told me to get out her car. So, I grabbed all my all my keys and stuff. >> Did she Did she say anything to you before she started hitting me? >> Yeah, she was just start she got mad because we broke up today. We were homeless together. You know, I was helping her. >> Yeah. >> My auntie let me come take a shower at her house. She got mad. Try to assume that I'm just doing everything wrong cuz I went and took a shower and started welling on me. And then she kicked me out the car, was hit, started hitting me then and there. then tried to hit me with her car right there. >> Right there on 10th Street. So, I had to hide behind. >> Officers respond after reports that a woman intentionally rammed her ex-boyfriend's parked car while her children were inside her own vehicle. >> The post two times right here. We're walking down the road. I walked down the road. She told me she was caught my car and this is what she did. >> Is that her car? >> Yes. And whose car is this? >> This is your car? >> Yes. She just did all this to my >> She said it was her car. I mean, is it >> This is my car. Okay. All right. What is your name? >> John. >> And you guys broke up today? >> Yes. >> Were you guys living together? >> No. >> You guys got You guys got kids together? >> No, I have no kids. All those hurricane. >> How long you guys been together? >> For like probably a month now. >> Just a month. >> Yeah. >> Does this car register in your name? >> Yes. This is in my name. You can check the license. >> What? >> Only his? >> Yeah. >> She was saying it was hers initially. >> I know. I just I just ran it though. It's only his. >> Yes, it's only my fault. >> Were her kids in the car when this happened? driver's own the vehicle. >> There's there's three or four kids in that car right now. >> She has a flat tire right now in the front of her car. >> Officers observe fresh damage on both vehicles and a flat tire on the woman's car. She admits at one point that she hit the vehicle. >> My car wasn't even part this close to the thing. That's how hard the floor. >> It's fresh damage. >> I can see that it's a fresh scrape. I can see what's old right here. And I can see this fresh damage right here that just occurred >> when tonight. Yes. >> Or yesterday or a week ago or two weeks ago. >> Okay. Well, how'd you get your flat tire, ma'am? >> I hit the car. >> I didn't hit this car. Do you have evidence? >> Stop. I'm not I'm not here to play games with you. I'm >> I understand that. But do you have evidence? >> We're in the middle of doing our investigation right now. I just want you to know that you're not free to leave at this point. Does that >> I don't >> Okay. >> I'm just telling you that I didn't do that. Okay. >> So, what happened to his car then? >> I don't know. I wasn't here like I told him. >> Okay. You >> told me two different things now. >> Well, I told you. >> I just told you that. >> All right. Whenever we can find this Spanish speaker. >> Okay. I can call him. >> Yeah. >> Do that if you can. >> We need him immediately. >> And then I need uh I need a canvas done once we get another officer here. >> In fact, I'll start on it right now. >> The woman repeatedly rammed the parked car. 41 to 40. I'll give you a 21, but we're not able to spare anybody at this moment. Are they saying no? >> I'll go back. >> I'll go ask this guy cuz I think that guy said that he drove off like she drove off. >> Yeah, she drove off with the car. >> So she could have got to record it and upload it. So, I got a video I'm uploading on evidence cuz he's not going to know how to >> Okay. >> send it through the video of it, too. >> Only of her smashing out the whole court. >> Okay, that's fine. And you you do want to prosecute. Okay, perfect. >> Um, I'm going to >> Officers check on the children inside the vehicle and note they are not properly restrained. Concerns of neglect are raised. Um, >> I need a lighter. >> A lighter >> so I don't smoke, man. My bad. >> I I'll see if I got one in my car. >> I'm going to go canvas real quick. >> Okay. >> Down here. Cuz he she said after she kept hitting the car. She drove I think either this way or this way. I already uploaded it. Um, and then when she came back, she didn't have a crowbar anymore. >> Okay. So, you think she threw it? Yeah. I have all the kids in all the kids info right now. Yeah, that's fine. So then after you do that canvas, can you do me the favor of Can you find out who dad is by the way >> for them? >> I don't. >> Oh, it's different dads. >> So, can you do the GCF notification right now? >> Call them. >> Yeah, do that. And then we're probably going to have to get one of their investigators come out cuz one kid's got a pretty bad looking like rash thing that's got like pus and stuff on it. >> So, they need to get they need to get looked at. >> DCF. Hey, are you guys okay back here? >> Hey, buddy. What's your name? >> I'm checking I'm checking on his welfare right now. >> I understand it, but >> we can't we can't question a minor without his parent. We can talk to them and ask about his welfare. Absolutely, we can. Especially if we >> Independent witnesses confirm seeing the woman back into the car multiple times intentionally. You think the mother might be be neglectful right now? He's supposed to be in a car seat. They're not even seat belted in. You were driving your vehicle without that. >> Seats are just to their car seats. Their car seats are dizzy. If you want to see them come out, too. And if you want or need to help, try to help anybody. Try to help me get cars. Don't try to hurt me. I'm already homeless. Thank you. >> Okay. It's still not lawful for you to drive around. >> I understand that. But what I'm trying to say is you're here to help the community. You're not here to hurt, right? So having [laughter] trouble to even have somewhere to stay, even lay my head, even wash even wash, you could try to ask, "Hey, puppet curses. Do they need anything?" You know, try to be >> right. But I try to talk to them to ask about their welfare. And you say, "Talk to his mother instead of talking to him." >> But he can't talk, >> right? >> Uh if you could, could you just stand with the kids back there? >> Yeah. I have a very strong suspicion that she rammed his car while those kids were inside of it. So I got 1071 Rob check on them. Go ahead. I'm going to start doing a canvas look for some videos cuz she's she's playing games like you have evidence that I did that. You have evidence I did that even though she's got fresh damage on the side of her car here. >> Yeah, that and then all of that. And then if you look at his car, it definitely got smashed like by a vehicle. No, not yet. She's claiming it's all old damage. Kids aren't on seat belts either. So, are you on the phone with him? Hey, most importantly, I need to know if you saw that car, ran that other car. >> Okay. All right. Because I need to know if those kids were in an accident. Okay. >> Hey, boss. Did you Did you tell him that she she rammed your car? >> Yes. >> Where were you when she was ramming it? >> I was walking down the road. She told me she was about to come back up my car. >> Yeah, she rammed it like two or three times, right? >> I don't know. I was over here. Okay. >> Yeah. >> 104 ran twice. >> He saw that. Well, he both sides. >> He saw it. We have a witness that >> police determined probable cause for multiple offenses including felony property damage and child related charges. >> He looked out when he first first heard the first bang. He looked out that car was that car parked was parked there and he saw him. He saw this car going northbound. Hit it. backed up headed again. I think I think she might have came from that way to get that we got down to the uh >> you want to stay call if it's if it's on camera that's good enough. I just need IDs for them. >> Yeah, I I got their uh repeater brother on both sides. >> Yeah, he said he said he heard the first bank. >> They're just in a dating relationship. I mean, let's let's talk. I mean, even if you Hello. >> Hello. How you doing? >> Hey, sorry it's so late. >> It's fine. I heard it earlier. >> You heard what was going on? Are you able to tell me like what you heard exactly? >> So, I walked over there and that uh like a whole car pulled off and then came back and was like just driving back into it a few times. >> Backing into or like >> No, like like purposely hitting it. >> So, it drove off, circle back and then started backing it hitting it and then she got out. I mean, I I have it on video. I don't >> Yeah. >> Can I watch the video? >> Yeah. Yeah. Uh, so this is what she was backing up and then she just took off. But that was like the second time she like got out and started like smashing it. It's hard to There you go. >> Okay. >> And she starts going around the whole thing. >> Okay. >> Just pretty much going to town on it. And then she took off. >> You were watching as recording it. >> Yeah. Yeah. And then she took off again down that this road and then came back around but didn't seem to try to hit it this way. >> They didn't try to hit us. >> Okay. And then how long after all of that? Uh did they did she start talking to somebody or like did she just park her car? >> I think across the street they started to like tell her to like calm down. Okay. >> She like she I think y could hear it and then she took off. But no she I didn't see her talking to anybody. >> No. Okay. And you didn't see anybody in the black car? >> No. >> Have you ever seen them before? >> No. >> In the video after she is smashing the car with the crowbar, did you see what she did with the crowbar? >> Did she get back in the car with it? >> I I mean I'm I'm assuming it was a crowbar. I didn't really see it, but >> Well, when like when she was smashing it, did you see if she like threw it and she got back in the car? >> Maybe probably got back in the car with it. I can probably look at it. >> All right. Thank you. So she initially went that way after it, came back, parked. >> Yeah, cuz she she came Yeah, she hit left, came back this way, hit it or >> Yeah. Did that and then she went that way and then came back this way. >> Do you know how long of a time frame between her coming this way and back this way? >> I think it was like I think that next road that makes you that you can take a right as long as it was. So she probably >> the very next street and then she took a right. Yeah. Awesome. Thank you so much. >> No problem. >> I know. I already took a picture of that. >> Can you put your bottom lip out a little bit? >> It's a little blood in the lip. Little scratch. >> There's a video of her like really online of her previously beating you up. It's definitely felony criminal mischief for the damage to the vehicle. Um, >> the woman becomes verbally hostile as officers explain the charges and next steps in the investigation. >> We're still trying to work out the aggravated assault aspect of it with her running you over trying to run you over. Um, simple battery for her punching you >> and then child neglect for the kids. >> So, for me. >> I love y'all. >> Should be open. >> But I need the break. >> You need a break. >> I do. >> From the kids. >> Yeah. >> That should be your pride and joy right there. You know >> it is, but I need a break. I'm not saying it in a bad way. >> I got you. >> What you call me? >> No, I'm talking about another officer. >> Got you. And I don't care. Bye. And dad's not their daddy. Okay. Don't send them with them. >> No, we know. Where are the dads right now? >> Not in their lives. >> And there's three dads, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. [ __ ] that's why you ain't got no car. You got cheated on. >> Um, >> and I'm gone. >> And I'm gone. >> Were you able to check her real quick so we can get her to >> I've been pregnant five times. >> You can't tell me about a woman's body. >> Y'all smart. You can't tell me about no reason. >> Not claiming to be an expert. >> I know, but keep your comment. I didn't want it. Uhhuh. My kids going to your grandma did I'll spit on >> and no. Not only that. >> Yeah. But >> going I'm going to have a sniper checker >> and your baby too. That the one I'm pregnant with, too. I know I'm pregnant. And guess what? [ __ ] sinful man. >> You be mad at this baby the whole pregnancy. Hate this damn baby. All right. >> That's why your grandma dead. >> You got cheated on. And tell him tell them how you a woman beetle. You see all these bruises on me because of him. Put him in jail. Yeah. You see him? You see him? Where my arms? Can you see my arms? >> No. >> I see. >> Thank you. I got bruises all of them. It tell him to get out. >> The mother was charged with felony criminal mischief for intentionally damaging her ex-boyfriend's vehicle. She also faced simple battery related to the physical altercation earlier in the incident. Investigators pursued aggravated assault due to allegations she attempted to strike him with her car. Additional charges included child neglect after officers found her children unrestrained during the incident. What the body cam captures next saves a life pause and comment what you do here. On January 26th, 2023, officers arrive with child services under a court order to take custody of a baby immediately facing resistance from an adult in the home. >> Because I'm making sense. >> No, sir. Because you're rambling. >> If you could just knock on the door. Hey, we're allowed to come in forcibly. You need to produce a child. If you don't, we are going to force entry and come to the home. Something like that. And just about every minute repeat that knock on the door. I'm going to let the other guys sell the whole spot. He's on his way. Give us 5 to 10 minutes and then we'll take it from there. But we're not leaving. >> Minnesota Police Department. >> Police repeatedly announced their authority to enter the residence and explain that force may be used if the child is not produced. >> And we have paperwork to enter your home and we will use force if you don't answer the door. >> The the court order has a clause for allow officers make forceful entry to get the child. Judge it. Add a clause in there. I read off this sergeant. He's on his way. Jordan's out there just making announcements and we're pounding on the door. Um, >> she's she's in there. She looked out. >> You actually saw >> Well, I can't say it was the girl in the DL photo, but somebody looked out the back window. Yep. >> Saw me here and then duck down back. >> Well, somebody answered the door. They said it wasn't the mother, but she immediately was like, "Hang on, just slam the door." Now, nobody's answering. So, I'll let Sergeant know all that. He says, "Good. He's on his way. Hold it back if you guys have hang out here." >> No, nobody's in your room. >> Will you tell them on the other side that the door's open now? My mom boyfriend might be in his room, but my mom's at work. >> Okay. >> You just lied to my daughter's face and TOLD HER YOU HAD A SIR. >> Can you just take that? Hold on. >> You woke up and you didn't really know what's going on. We'll explain to you. >> The adult challenges the legality of the paperwork, demanding proof of address and questioning the officer's authority. >> You hold on, please. Let me talk to you, sir. This what I'm saying. I'm being ruled down and tell you what's being ruled because I just feel there's no address on there. There's no name for the person whose address on the address. All that's illegal. You just told my daughter. You just told my daughter. >> If you don't calm down, we can't explain. >> All right, let me calm down. >> You You show me the search. >> My thing is >> the search doesn't have our address on you. The search one is for here. >> You're shouting again. If you don't want me to go with the search the search warrant you had to speak about it misunderstood. >> No no I misunderstood. >> You said you had a search warrant. >> She clearly told me >> I never said the word search warrant. >> That's what I'm telling you. Bro, >> no you're not telling me anything. >> I don't want to talk to you. >> You're not telling me any >> So you want to be nice to you? >> I want you to be reasonable. >> We have an order to enter the home and take the child. Officers attempt to calm the situation, explaining the court order and the purpose of the visit while waiting for a supervisor. >> From the address, >> from this address, >> there's no address on it that says >> mother of the child has this address listed as her residence. >> I was told by the female that answered the door that she was here with the baby. >> I'm just going to because you're being a patient. >> I just woke up and you're in my house. >> You woke up and you weren't you weren't prepared to see us. Can I explain to you why we're here? >> Can I Yes, ma'am. Okay, sir. >> Because he's not telling me why you're here. He's making no sense to me. >> Will you give me just a minute? >> Yes, please. >> Do you want to look in the house any further? >> I do want to see the last room that was locked. >> It was locked. Okay. I think Officer Schaefer sitting out the front. We're going to sit here and hang out wait till my supervisor gets here and then we'll go from there and reexplain it to him if he's going to listen and we'll get access to that room. Okay, that's no problem. But he's being awfully upset and unreasonable. So, we're not going to take it to that next level. Yeah. By the way, my sergeant is here, >> right? Doesn't matter. >> So, the mother put her address here. >> So, this address is listed as her address. >> How How can she do that? >> A teenage family member confirms the baby was recently inside the home. Increasing concern about concealment. >> I know you have commentary, but let me just finish real quick. You can hear the whole thing. >> DCF has paperwork, a judge signed paperwork that says the police can use force and enter this home and retrieve the baby. That that is the paperwork. How do I know how old your daughter, right? This is your daughter. >> All right. Better explain that. Now that I calm down, >> your daughter told us that she was here. >> I did not say that. I said I just came from home from school and my mom said, "Is she here?" You said, "Yeah." And you closed the door, right? Like you were going to go get her cuz you didn't know. That's fine. >> Question is, >> nobody's mad at you. >> I don't want to I don't want to interject. I just want to let you know that it does. >> Are you okay? So that's what we were looking for her again. >> Yeah. So y'all walked in. She was >> No, listen. We were told she was here >> and we came in. >> That this is really This is very disturbing. >> No. No. Listen. You were asleep, right? You were asleep, right? >> Right. Imagine that. >> No. Listen. Your 16-year-old daughter opened the door. Says yes, you can come in. Right. And did we leave after you you said you can't be in here and leave? Right. We left. Right. Yes or no? >> Y'all still here? >> Yes. No. No. No. We left the house. Is that correct? Yes or no? >> It took a second for y'all to get out. >> Yes. Yes. Police clarify that the judge authorized forced entry and that the listed address legally ties the residence to the child's mother. >> It had to start I had to start getting sir you told I got >> we have good reason to be in there with the judges. >> Now I understand you had permission from what you said. All I was asking for was proof of address and proof of just show show me she's show me >> you have to give us an opportunity to explain if you woke up and this is great explanations are great right but you're not showing me the proof if we're in a court of law right now you guys will lose the case because you haven't showed me the proof to say >> there's no case this isn't a criminal matter >> I didn't say this is a case I said if we were in a court of law proof is in a penny if you do not show proof how are >> let him answer my super is going to come here we're going to explain to you again that we're going to go in there and that last room because that's okay. So, either you can let us do it now or wait till my supervisor get my supervising very hard to talk to because I'm Oh, sorry. >> And stuff like that. Okay. >> So, that Yes. >> Because I'm making sense. >> No, sir. Because you're rambling off. Am I making So, you tell me my ramblings aren't making a lot of sense. >> No, sir. You're being rude and interrupted. So, we have to hang out here for my supermarket. >> And then we're going to speak to you again. >> I'm not trying to give you to go in there. >> The paperwork is shown clearly confirming the address and authorizing officers to retrieve the child. >> You know, give us permission and we're going to have to execute. >> I get what you're saying. Do you understand? I'm not trying to give you a hard time, right? >> No, I don't agree with you. You are giving me a hard time. >> I'm trying to give you a hard time. >> Sir, do you know that the last time that we were here, she ran out the back door? >> No, I don't know that. >> Okay. That's why we have four officers here and we have a supervisor on the way. I don't know none of this is going on. That that's not my kid. That's not >> that that child is belongs to the state. >> So y'all agree with him that y'all a understanding? >> You're getting caught up on act like he's he act like a cop right now, right? >> All right. One room's locked obviously. >> Right. She's in there. >> Yeah, more than likely. He's being a pain in the butt. But I finally got through and said, "What's going on? We're not leaving. The sergeant's going to make my room explain again. But we are going in there whether we can >> address on there." >> Yeah. I asked her. She goes, "There's an address here. Is there anywhere the child is going to be?" He's already admitted she just sleeps on the couch. We should be all just fine. So >> you reckon like I can't hold the paper. >> See this emergency motion >> right >> for to produce access to the home. >> Hold that one second. >> Okay. And then this part right here says law enforcement officers are hereby authorized to make a forcible entry at any hour using any and all reasonable necessary. Right here. >> All right. Now wait. She has refused to >> officers are finally allowed to proceed further into the home while tensions remain high. >> Introduce the child to the state. >> That's all for real. Okay. >> The residence. This is your address. >> Thank you. That's what the I'm talking about. Now you can kill me. >> Okay. But you understand that the address off would have happened. That's all I'm saying. If she would have pulled that out off rip and or he said he had his hand, >> it would have been easier if you show me no addressing with people and getting >> all I ask was for the address. >> I'm talking about the same thing from the beginning. the address. I keep saying, "Show me the address." >> It's right here. >> Right. >> All right. Uh DCF's up front and stuff like that cuz that's where the guy is that kicked us out. >> We didn't want to kind of escalate more. Here's what happened. The 16-year-old daughter's like finally answer the door. Hey, you can come in. >> They go through the house. They find two doors and knock on the one. The male came out, freaked out, cursing, get out, get out, get out. There's still one door locked and they're not no one answer the door and he doesn't want us to answer it. We backed out. Took us a while to explain it to him. >> Explain it to him. He still doesn't want to go us to go in there. So I said, "We're just going to wait till you get here." reexlain it again. >> One bedroom with a man who who they're saying the kid's not in there. >> Yes. Everyone's >> the owner of the house, >> but he doesn't want us to look into the >> Okay. And that would be the parent of the child. >> No, no, no, no. The parent of the house. >> Who's the parent of the child? >> What's her name? >> Is that person here? >> No. No. No. The child or that mother is not here? >> We believe because they're not letting us in there and nobody's answering the door and the door's locked. >> Let me see. >> He's on the back side um with DCF and everybody on the outside. >> Two sides. >> Yes, sir. There's two doors. I think >> so. So if you would have never heard me arguing and debating with you guys if you would have showed me the edge I would like okay what do y'all want to do I would have say okay >> do you want us to wait for our supervisor >> the adult continues to interfere and is detained for failing to cooperate during the lawful execution of the order >> all right we'll wait he's right here >> this is the the guy that was like you're good now she showed me the address >> this is the gentleman that lives here at this residence she's seen the paperwork with the address on it he understands what we're doing >> I get it now she's the address. Yeah. Okay. >> You're good. Now, >> you're going to let us go check now. It would have been green right if you would have showed me the same thing. She just showed me the address. What was I told? >> This is a rare circumstance cuz most people when the state says we need that child, >> but you can't treat every single turn over. >> Is the kid here? >> I don't know. I just woke up. I just told >> the last bedroom was locked. >> I don't know what's going on. >> All right. Do you have a way to get into that last bedroom? >> I don't go in that room. I'd be in my room. >> Usually, when a a bedroom is locked, it has to be open from the inside. So, somebody might be in there. Hold up. Hold up. Stay here for a second, man. Boss, what? >> Boss, >> your grandma's phone number. >> Give me one second. Sit down. >> 37. >> Please sit down. >> For what? >> Please sit down. >> For what? >> Because you keep walking around. I can't find the kid. You're being detained. Sit down, please. >> Officers locate the baby in a separate room, take the child into protective custody, and arrest the adult for obstruction. >> Okay. My grandmother. Y'all need to go to my grandmother house. Sit down on the on the curb or I can take you in my car in handcuffs. What do you want? >> Talk to some more. >> Sit down. Now don't get up >> now. Do you see? You want to talk to him or not? But you have to stay here. Do you understand? >> This is not where I stay at. Is that my grandma? >> Do you understand me? >> No, I don't understand you. >> Stay here and don't move. Do you understand that? If you get up, Officer Sullivan's putting handcuffs. You're going to my car. I'm not warning you again. >> The reason that they're here is because you're not cooperating. Okay. We're not here to for criminal. We're not trying to take you to jail unless you start acting out and we have to do so. >> Okay. >> So, just relax. >> This is their house. Like, y'all, >> okay, but you were staying here at some point. That was the address that they have for you and the judge signed off on that address. >> Get officer's going to search you. Officer Sullivan's going to search you. Spread your feet. Let me >> spread your feet. >> Where was the baby? >> Under a blanket in the other. >> Is that where I have to talk to you guys? >> Nope. Too late for that. >> Why do I have to go to jail? >> Because you know exactly why. I'm sorry. I'm done with this. >> You're being arrested for obstruction because you didn't you didn't cooperate. >> I I already have enough my class. >> I'm sorry. I have no sympathy for you when you just lied to us. >> Turn around. Face the car. Please just hold still. Just hold still. >> Can you widen your stance, please? There you go. A little bit wider. >> We can't. It's too late now. >> That's just my baby. >> We weren't going to take you to jail, but >> your actions produce this result. >> Can I loosen this? >> No. >> Can you just get her info start? >> Yeah. >> Go ahead. Get in. >> Minimum. >> Please. >> Can you send one of the girls from DCF over? >> Is there a way you got it? Please. >> Okay. I've already explained to them that it sucks and that we're we're sorry for what happened. Uh you guys do you know what your charge is? I'd like to do something like a child engagement or something. I want to read up on that and work with them. >> Figure it out. Take your time. Like this this one I want to do it right. So like I think that you can do 1015 based on the violation of that. There's probably a statute on that. >> Um maybe call booking and find out. >> Yep. >> I'll keep Garrett here to help facilitate whatever is about to happen. Uh as far as you guys are concerned, you've got mom. You have all the information that you need to do at 10:15. >> Why don't you go start taking her to jail? >> Okay, no problem. She lost her right to be able to see him and stuff. >> Forgot to ask you exactly how you found the child. >> Uh she was in >> the bedroom across from the one that you wanted to get into. So the one that you were in, literally directly across from that, he said, "Hey, Sergeant, come with me." I followed him. He didn't speak any words other than come with me. >> He pointed in the room and I was like, "Is baby in here?" I was thinking maybe was signal seven by this time. >> Like I thought that's what was happening here. And uh so as he pointed in the room, I just hear like whatever little baby. Okay. So I just peel the blanket up and grab her. So she was covered. That baby was covered with like a comforter, which will be on my body camera. Um but they covered her up in order to conceal her from us. >> What happened was she was in the room that you guys couldn't get into when you left. >> The incident concluded with the baby taken into protective custody by child services. An adult in the home was arrested for obstruction and authorities continued follow-up actions regarding the child's placement and family compliance with court orders. Remember, court orders involving child welfare must be followed immediately, even if family members disagree or feel confused. Escalation and refusal to cooperate often lead to more serious legal consequences than the original situation. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. This situation spiraled because emotions took over instead of cooperation. Once a judge signs an order, arguing on the spot only makes things worse. Where you been staying? >> All right. >> Officers confirm Darius has multiple active warrants and inform him he must be taken into custody. >> Is uh mom here? >> I'm the guardian. You're the guardian. >> Okay. >> I think they're right now. All right. Well, you got to come with us. >> So unnecessary time. >> Stop fighting. >> Stop. Take a breath. She She said a word I don't understand. >> Okay. >> She said, "Take her to the hospital." I said, "Okay." I go inside the gas station. I come out and she's walking off with her bag. And I'm like, "Yo, wait, wait, wait, wait. What you doing?" >> Leaving you with the baby. >> Leaving me with the baby. She told me, "Hey, take her take her uh take her to the hospital. I Hey, I'm calling the cops. >> Is your new prince? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, you were the one that called the cops. Okay. >> Hey, I'm calling the cops. Come back and get your baby. And I knew I kind of knew she would come here because this is the person that she keeps saying is the baby daddy. >> Some guy named Carlos. I'm going to swear you in. >> Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? >> Absolutely. >> You swear everything you're going to provide is on your own free will and I didn't force you to do it. Correct. Okay. So, what happened exactly? So, I was I was parked on the side of the of the road with my car there and I was I was just um looking at my phone and I saw the the car pulled in, but I'm not sure exactly what kind of car cuz I didn't get that much close attention, but I saw the the dad and the mom. So, the dad actually pulled the stroller out of the car. It put the baby in the stroller, but somehow I knew something was wrong. So, I went around just to make sure. So, a a black male pulled the baby out of the car and put the baby female. Yes. But the black male was the one that put the baby in the stroller. Okay. So, my instinct was like something is wrong. I don't know why. I just have that instinct. So, and I went drive around and I drove around and I came back and I saw the baby with the stroller. Right. First, I wasn't sure if the baby was in there. Then, I heard the noise cuz my window was open and I heard the baby was crying. I was like, "What's a baby? Somebody forgot the baby." And I went to look at the crew that the stroller was parked in. See if somebody was in there. So that's when I picked up the baby and that's when I called the cop. >> So you were driving around, saw the two, the couple. One was a guy a guy. Can you describe the guy at all or >> It was both African-American like you said, very slender uh very kind of ghetto. Um so yeah, so they look kind of, you know, >> okay. So the guy ended up taking the baby out of the stroller, placing the baby in the stroller, and then where was the female at the time? She >> the female was getting the stuff out of the car, >> but I'm not sure exactly what car and look at the >> right. So then the the you will end up saying, you know, this doesn't look right. >> So you end up circling back around. After you circle back around the next time, you see the baby stroller all by itself. Yeah. >> And then and then you didn't suspect the baby was in the stroller, but then you heard the baby crying. It's like the baby was there. >> Okay. Did he did uh did anybody like shout at you outside of the car? >> No one shot at me at all. Yeah, I was surprised too. >> And then so then you ended up getting the baby and calling 911. >> Yeah, I took the baby off and then and I that's when I called you guys. >> Okay, perfect. All right, that concludes the statement. >> Thank you. >> You have my number. >> The mother is advised of her rights, admits leaving the baby unattended, and officers confirm child protective services have taken custody. >> So if I need anything, I will give you a call. Okay. Go to that door over there. >> Is your ID and stuff in this backpack? >> All right. >> Are you singing? >> That's not my baby. That's his >> Again, I am not the the officer in charge of this investigation. I am here with you. I don't know what's going on over there. My teeth just burst from getting um chewing on the body fat. >> I'm seeing the back one. >> Mhm. >> You feel it? >> No, I'm probably okay. >> Yeah. I mean, we we wouldn't take you to the hospital for that. >> I'm not. >> Okay. What's your uh >> I got her information to get it from me. >> Sorry to waste your time. Like I said, this was a first for me. I figured it was something I should call you for. >> What's your name? >> Holene. Him. Okay. I'm Officer M with the West Palm Beach Police Department. I'm the person that's going to be taking this case. So, I just got to read you these statements. Okay. >> I'm required to warn you before you make any statements that you have the following constitutional rights. You have the right to remain silent and not answer any questions. Any statements you make must be free and voluntarily given. Do you understand? So, I just want to show you a picture first. Is uh this your baby? Your child? >> I'm not sure, but yeah, I believe so. >> You sure? Okay. You You don't know if that's your child or it is your child? >> They don't really look like me. >> Okay. Think that is her? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You can be honest with me. I mean, I just have to know for my reports. So, that's her. Correct. Your kid. Okay. So, what happened today then? >> Um I wanted to take her to the hospital to see um what was going on with her. What was what was wrong with her? >> Um I I think she had seen >> what's what's that >> in her poop? It was like she had I wanted to go see if she was okay. She kept having these cucumbs and she kept pooping everywhere. And I also wanted to do a DNA a DNA test to make sure like, hey, this is your kid. This is my kid. You know, we both black and our kid look, you know. >> Who whose kid? >> Prince. >> Is your daughter's name Prince? So, who's this other prince? The other prince. >> So, you wanted to You guys were going there to go get a DNA. >> He didn't want to take a DNA test. >> Okay. >> So, as we were walking, he turned he turned around and I spoke to him. I ran to him and I gave him the baby and I ran away cuz he was like, "Why would you do that?" >> Well, you gave him the baby. How did you do that? >> I [snorts] left the baby right in front of where he was by the car. >> Okay. So you left the baby there, but he didn't sign any birth certificate or anything like that. >> No, he didn't. He was there for the birth. >> Oh, he was there for the birth. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So you left the baby and then what happened after that? Where did you end up going after that? >> And then I walked to my ex's house the way he acted just doing my whole mold. >> Okay. So then you ended up leaving the baby in a parking lot or by his car. >> Yeah. >> And then did he drive off or did you drive off? Did you walk away? >> He took the baby. >> He took the baby. >> Yeah. Okay. Is there a reason why the baby was found in the parking lot then by a bystander? >> Well, I don't know. I seen the car seat in the thing. >> You seen the car seat in his car? So, you assume he had the baby? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I don't know. I'm not tripping. >> Okay. >> Maybe he did leave the baby in there. But yeah, I ran away. >> Is there a reason why you didn't come go back after he told you? >> I wanted him to stop following me and then I was going to go back eventually. I just needed to calm down. >> Okay. All right. So usually So making sure I understand it. The baby you put the baby by his car and then you walked away. >> Yeah. >> Okay. But you but so you left the baby unattended. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. Do you want to provide me any other statements or anything that you want to say? >> No. Okay. So you know obviously since you're here I'm going to end up taking you into jail. It's going to be for child neglect. Um at the point at this point your DCF has the kid and your sister's coming to pick up the kid. Okay. So, I'm just going to pretty much write what you just told me. >> The incident concluded with the baby placed into protective custody and the mother was arrested and charged with child neglect. Authorities coordinated medical evaluation and initiated child welfare proceedings to determine the baby's long-term care. Remember, infants depend entirely on responsible adult supervision, and lapses in judgment can have serious legal consequences. When caregivers feel overwhelmed, seeking help is critical before a situation escalates. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. I can't understand how anyone could walk away from a newborn like that. [music] Thank goodness a stranger noticed and called for help. This situation is heartbreaking and completely avoidable. The driver was charged with DUI and child endangerment after admitting to alcohol consumption, refusing sobriety tests, and leaving the crash scene with minors. She was later released on bond, and her driver's license was suspended pending court proceedings. Remember, driving after drinking, even if you feel mostly okay, can still lead to serious legal consequences. Leaving the scene of an accident with children involved, significantly escalates the severity of charges. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. Five kids in the car makes this so much worse. Refusing sobriety tests doesn't mean you won't be arrested. Glad the officers made the kid safety the priority. You think this call can't get worse? The body cam captures the exact second officer's rush in comment if you felt that spike.
